1 These are the journeys of the children of Israel which went out of the land of Egypt with their armies under Moses and Aaron.
2 And Moses wrote their goings out by their journeys at the commandment of the LORD: even these are the journeys of their goings out.
3 The children of Israel departed from Rameses the fifteenth day of the first month, on the morrow after Passover and went out with a high hand in the sight of all Egypt,
4 while the Egyptians buried all their firstborn which the LORD had smoten among them. And upon their gods also the LORD did execution.
5 And the children of Israel removed from Rameses and pitched in Succoth.
6 And they departed from Succoth and pitched their tents in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.
7 And they removed from Etham and turned unto the entering of Hiroth which is before Baalzephon, and pitched before Migdol.
8 And they departed from before Hiroth and went through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days journey in the wilderness of Etham, and pitched in Marah.
9 And they removed from Marah and went unto Elim where were twelve fountains and seventy palm trees and they pitched there.
10 And they removed from Elim and lay fast by the reed sea.
11 And they removed from the reed sea and lay in the wilderness of Zin.
12 And they took their journey out of the wilderness of Zin, and set up their tents in Dophkah.
13 And they departed from Dophkah, and lay in Alush.
14 And they removed from Alush, and lay at Rephidim, where was no water for the people to drink.
15 And they departed from Rephidim, and pitched in the wilderness of Sinai.
16 And they removed from the desert of Sinai, and lodged at the graves of lust.
17 And they departed from the sepulchres of lust, and lay at Hazeroth.
18 And they departed from Hazeroth, and pitched in Rithmah.
19 And departed from Rithmah and pitched at Rimmonperez.
20 And they departed from Rimmonperez, and pitched in Libnah.

34 And they removed from Jotbathah, and lay at Abronah.
35 And they departed from Abronah, and lay at Eziongeber.
36 And they removed from Eziongeber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.
37 And they removed from Kadesh, and pitched in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.
38 And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD and died there, even in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, and in the first day of the fifth month.
39 And Aaron was a hundred and thirty three years old when he died in mount Hor.
40 And king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south of the land of Canaan, heard that the children of Israel were come.

50 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the fields of Moab by Jordan nigh unto Jericho, saying,
51 "Speak unto the children of Israel and say unto them, 'When ye are come over Jordan into the land of Canaan,
52 see that ye drive out all the inhabiters of the land before you, and destroy their imaginations and all their images of metal, and pluck down all their altars built on hills:
53 And possess the land and dwell therein, for I have given you the land to enjoy it.
54 And ye shall divide the inheritance of the land by lot among your kindreds, and give to the more the more inheritance, and to the fewer the less inheritance. And your inheritance shall be in the tribes of your fathers, in the place where every man's lot falleth.
55 But and if ye will not drive out the inhabiters of the land before you, then those which ye let remain of them, shall be thorns in your eyes and darts in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.
56 Moreover it will come to pass, that I shall do unto you as I thought to do unto them.'"

12 Take heed to thyself, that thou make no covenant with the inhabiters of the land whither thou goest lest it be cause of ruin among you.
13 But overthrow their altars and break their pillars, and cut down their groves,
14 for thou shalt worship no strange god. For the LORD is called jealous, because he is a jealous God:
15 lest, if thou make any covenant with the inhabiters of the land, when they go a whoring after their gods and do sacrifice unto their gods, they call thee and thou eat of their sacrifice;
16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and when their daughters go a whoring after their gods,
17 they make thy sons go a whoring after their gods also. Thou shalt make thee no gods of metal.
Leviticus 26:1
1 Ye shall make you no idols, nor graven image, neither rear you up any pillar, neither ye shall set up any image of stone in your land to bow yourselves thereto: for I am the LORD your God;
Deuteronomy 7:2-5
2 and when the LORD thy God hath set them before thee that thou shouldest smite them: see that thou utterly destroy them and make no covenant with them nor have compassion on them.
3 Also thou shalt make no marriages with them, neither give thy daughter unto his son nor take his daughter unto thy son.

Deuteronomy 7:25-26
25 The images of their gods thou shalt burn with fire, and see that thou covet not the silver or gold that is on them nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therewith. For it is an abomination unto the LORD thy God.
26 Bring not therefore the Abomination to thine house, lest thou be a damned thing as it is: but utterly defy it and abhor it, for it is a thing that must be destroyed.
Deuteronomy 12:2-3

16 But in the cities of these nations which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth.

Joshua 15:1-12

6 And went up to Bethhoglah and went along by the north side of Betharabah and went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.
7 And then went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, turning toward Gilgal that lieth before the going up to Adummim, which is of the south side of the River. And then went along to the water of Enshemesh, and ended at the well of Rogel.
8 And then went up to the valley of the son of Hinnom, even unto the south side of the Jebusites the inhabiters of Jerusalem. And then went up to the top of the hill that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, and by the edge of the valley of Rephaim northward;
9 and then it draweth from the sand hill unto the fountain of water called Nephtoah, and goeth out at the cities of mount Ephron; and draweth to Baalah, otherwise called Kiriathjearim;
10 and then it compasseth from Baalah westward, unto Seir, and then goeth along unto the side of mount Jearim, otherwise called Chesalon, on the north side thereof; and cometh down to Bethshemesh and goeth to Timnah,
11 and goeth out on the side of Ekron northward; And then draweth to Shikkeron and goeth along to mount Baalah, and goeth out at Jabneel; and the end of the coasts is the sea.
12 And the west borders are the great sea and the coasts that lie thereon. And these are the coasts of the children of Judah round about in their kindreds.
Joshua 16:1-4
1 And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho eastward, and the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Bethel:
2 and then goeth out from Bethel to Luz, and runneth along unto the borders of Archiataroth;
3 and goeth down westward, even unto the coasts of Japhleti, and unto the coasts of Bethhoron the nether, and so to Gezer, and the ends of their coasts came to the sea.
4 And so the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.
Joshua 17:1-13
1 And the tribe of Manasseh which was the eldest son of Joseph received a lot. And Machir, the eldest son of Manasseh, which was the father of Gilead and a man of war, had Gilead and Bashan.
2 And the rest of the children of Manasseh received by their kindreds: which were the children of Abiezer; the children of Helek: the children of Asriel: the children of Shechem, the children of Hepher: the children of Shemida. These are the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph in their kindreds.
3 But Zelophehad the son of Hepher the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons save daughters. And these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah;
4 which came before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the lords, saying, "The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren." And he gave them at the mouth of the LORD, an inheritance among the brethren of their fathers.
5 And there fell ten portions to Manasseh beside the lands of Gilead and Bashan which are on the other side Jordan:
6 because the daughters of Manasseh did inherit among his sons. And Manasseh's other sons had the land of Gilead.
7 And the coasts of Manasseh reached from Asher to Michmethath that lieth before Shechem and went along on the righthand, even unto the inhabiters of Entappuah,
8 and the land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh, which Tappuah lay in the borders between Manasseh and the children of Ephraim.
9 And the coasts descended unto the river Kanah on whose south side Ephraim hath cities among the cities of Manasseh. For the coasts of Manasseh were on the north side of the river and the ends of them was the sea:
10 so that the south pertained to Ephraim, and the north to Manasseh, and the sea is his border. And they met together in Asher northward, and in Issachar eastward.
11 And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher, Bethshean, and her towns: and the inhabiters of Dor, with the towns pertaining to the same: and the inhabiters of Endor with the towns of the same: and the inhabiters of Taanach with her towns and the inhabiters of Megiddo with the towns of the same, even three countries:
12 yet the children of Manasseh could not overcome those cities, but the Cananites began to dwell in the same land.
13 Nevertheless, as soon as the children of Israel were waxed strong, they put the Cananites to tribute, but expelled them not.
Joshua 18:11-19:48
11 And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their kindreds. And the coasts of their lot came out between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.
12 And their north coasts were from Jordan and went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward, and they ended at the wilderness of Bethaven;
13 and went from thence to the south side of Luz, otherwise called Bethel: and descended to Atarothaddar upon the hill that lieth on the south side of the nether Bethhoron.
14 And the west coast draweth and compasseth southward, even from the hill that lieth before Bethhoron, and goeth out at Kiriathbaal which is Kiriathjearim, a city of the children of Judah: and this is the west quarter.
15 And the south coast goeth from the edge of Kiriathjearim westward, and goeth out to the water well of Nephtoah;
16 and cometh down to the edge of the hill that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom which is in the valley of Rephaim northward, and descendeth through the valley of Hinnom unto the side of Jebusi southward and goeth down to the well of Rogel.
17 And compasseth from the north and goeth forth to Enshemesh and to the coasts that lie before the going up unto Adummim; and goeth down to the stone of Bohan the son of Ruben;
18 and then goeth along toward the side of the plain, northward; and goeth down into the plain;
19 and goeth along to the side of Bethhoglah northward, and endeth and the point of the salt sea north therefrom, and at the end of Jordan south therefrom. This is the south coast,
20 and Jordan is their east coast. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin with their coasts round about and by their kindreds.
21 And these are the cities of the tribes of the children of Benjamin in their kindreds: Jericho, Bethhoglah, and the valley of Keziz;
22 Betharabah, Zemaraim, and Bethel;
23 Avvim, Parah, and Ophrah;
24 Chepharammoni, Ophni, and Geba: Twelve cities with their villages.
25 Gibeon, Ramah, and Beeroth;
26 Mizpeh, Chephirah and Mozah;
27 Rekem, Irpeel and Taralah,
28 Zela, Haeleph, and the city of the Jebusites, which is Jerusalem; Gibeah, and Kiriathjearim: Fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin in their kindreds.
Joshua 19:11-48
11 and went up to the sea and to Mareal, and touched at Dabbesheth, and met at the river that lieth before Jokneam;
12 and turned from Sarid eastward toward the sun rising unto the border of Chisloth in mount Tabor: and then goeth out to Daberath and goeth up to Japhia;
13 and from thence goeth along eastward toward the sun rising, to Gathhepher, Ethkazin, and goeth to Rimmon, Methoar, and Neah.
14 And compasseth it on the north side and goeth to Nathan, and endeth in the valley of Iphtahel.
15 And Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem: Twelve cities with their villages.
16 This is the inheritance of the Children of Zebulun, in their kindreds, the said cities with their villages.
17 And the fourth lot came out to the children of Issachar by their kindreds.
18 And their coasts were Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem;
19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath;
20 Rabbith, Kishion and Ebez;
21 Remeth, Engannim, Enhaddah, and Bethpazzez.
22 And his coasts met at Tabor, Shahazumah and at Bethshemesh and endeth at Jordan: Sixteen cities with their villages.
23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar by their kindreds, the cities and their villages.
24 And the fifth lot came out unto the tribe of the children of Asher by their kindreds.
25 And their coasts were Helkath, Hali, Beten and Achshaph;
26 Allamelech, Amad, and Mishal; and met at Carmel on the sea, and at Shihor and at Libnath
27 and turneth toward the sun rising to Bethdagon, and met at Zebulun and in the valley of Iphtahel, and toward the northside of Bethemek and Neiel, and goeth out on the left side of Cabul;
28 and Hebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah even unto great Sidon.
29 And then the coast turneth to Ramah and to the strong city of Azor and turneth to Hosah and endeth at the sea, by the possession of Achzib;
30 Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob: Twenty and two cities with their villages.
31 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher by their kindreds: these cities with their villages.
32 And the sixth lot came out unto the children of Naphtali by their kindreds.
33 And their coasts were from Heleph and from Allon in Zaananim, and Adaminekeb and Jabneel even to Lakkum, and go out at Jordan.
34 And then the coast turneth westward to Aznoth in mount Tabor, and then goeth out from thence to Hukkok and meeteth with Zebulun on the south side, and with Asher on the west, and at Judah upon Jordan toward the sun rising.
35 And their strong cities are Ziddim, Zer, Hamath, Rakkath and Chinnereth;
36 Adamah, Ramah and Hazor;
37 Kadesh, Edrei, and Enhazor;
38 Yiron, Migdalel, Horem, Bethanath and Bethshemesh: Nineteen cities with their villages.
39 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali by their kindreds: these cities and their villages.
40 And the seventh lot fell to the tribe of Dan by their kindreds.
41 And the coasts of their inheritance was Zorah, Eshtaol, Irshemesh,
42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon and Ithlah;
43 Elon, Timnah and Ekron;
44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon and Baalath;
45 Jehud, Beneberak and Gathrimmon;
46 Mejarkon and Rakkon with the country that lieth before Joppa.
47 And the coasts of the children of Dan went out from beyond them. For the children of Dan went up and fought against Leshem and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and conquered it, and dwelt therein and called it Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan in their kindreds: these cities with their villages.

16 Thou shalt bring to nought all nations which the LORD thy God delivereth thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them neither shalt thou serve their gods, for that shall be thy decay.
Joshua 23:12-13
12 But and if ye shall go back and cleave unto the rest of these nations that remain with you and shall make marriages with them, and shall go to them and they come to you:
13 be sure that the LORD your God will not cast out all these nations before you. But they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges for your sides, and pricks in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
Judges 1:21-36
21 And the children of Benjamin did not cast out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem, but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.
22 And in like manner the house of Joseph went up to Bethel and the LORD with them,
23 and the house of Joseph searched out Bethel which before time was called Luz.
24 And the spies saw a man come out of the city and they said unto him, "Show us the way into the city, and we will show thee mercy."
25 And he showed them the way into the city, and they smote it with the edge of the sword, but let the man and all his household go free.
26 And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city and called the name thereof Luz, which is the name thereof unto this day.
27 Neither did Manasseh expel Bethshean with her towns, neither Taanach with her towns, neither the inhabiters of Dor with her towns, neither the inhabiters of Ibleam with her towns, neither the inhabiters of Megiddo with her towns, and so the Cananites went to and dwelt in the said land.
28 But as soon as Israel was waxed mighty, they put the Cananites to tribute: but expelled them not.
29 In like manner Ephraim expelled not the Cananites that dwelt in Gezer, but the Cananites dwelt still in Gezer among them.
30 Neither did Zebulun expel the inhabiters of Kitron, neither the inhabiters of Nahalol; but the Cananites dwelt among them and became tributaries.
31 Neither did Asher cast out the inhabiters of Acco, neither the inhabiters of Sidon, of Ahlab, Achzib, Helbah, Aphik, nor of Rehob,
32 but the Asherites dwelt among the Cananites the inhabiters of the land, and drave them not out.
33 Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabiters of Bethshemesh, nor the inhabiters of Bethanath, but dwelt amongst the Cananites the inhabiters of the land. Nevertheless the inhabiters of Bethshemesh, and of Bethanath became tributaries unto them.
34 And the Amorites kept the children of Dan in the mountains, and suffered them not the come down to the valleys.
35 And so the Amorites went and dwelled in mount Heres in Aijalon and in Shaalbim. Neverthelater, the hand of Joseph waxed heavy upon them, so that they became tributaries.
36 And the coasts of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, and from the rock upward.
Judges 2:3
3 Wherefore I have likewise determined that I will not cast them out before you: that they may be a fall unto you, and their gods shall be snares unto you."

20 And he carried away them that had escaped the sword to Babylon, where they were servants to him and his children, until the kingdom of Persia began to rule;
Ezekiel 33:24-29
24 "Thou son of man, these that dwell in the wasted land of Israel say, 'Abraham was but one man, and he had the land in possession: now are we many, and the land is given us to possess also.'
25 And therefore tell them, 'Thus sayeth the LORD: In the blood have ye eaten, your eyes have ye lift up to Idols, and have shed blood: shall ye then have the land in possession?
26 Ye lean upon your swords, ye work abominations, every one defileth his neighbour's wife: and shall ye then possess the land?'
27 Say thou these words unto them, 'Thus sayeth the LORD God: As truly as I live, all ye that dwell in this wilderness, shall be slain with the sword. Whatsoever is upon the field, will I give unto the beasts to be devoured: those that be in strongholds and dens, shall die of the pestilence.
28 For I will make the land desolate and waste, and the pomp of her strength shall come to an end. The mountains in Israel shall be so waste that no man shall travel thereby.
29 Then shall they learn to know, that I am the LORD, when I make the land waste and desolate, because of all their abominations, that they have wrought.'
Luke 21:23-24
23 But woe be to them that be with child, and to them that give suck in those days, for there shall be great trouble in the land: and wrath over all this people.
24 And they shall fall on the edge of the sword. And they shall be led captive into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trodden underfoot of the gentiles, until the time of the gentiles be fulfilled.
