⁸ He sitteth lurking in the thievish corners of the streets, and privily in his lurking dens doth he murder the innocent; his eyes are set against the poor. ⁹ For he lieth waiting secretly; even as a lion lurketh he in his den, that he may ravish the poor. He doth ravish the poor when he getteth him into his net. ¹⁰ He falleth down, and humbleth himself, that the congregation of the poor may fall into the hands of his captains.

¹⁴ The ungodly have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the simple and poor, and to slay such as are of a right conversation.

¹⁷ They came round about me daily like water, and compassed me together on every side.

¹³ he winketh with his eyes, he tokeneth with his feet, he pointeth with his fingers, ¹⁴ he is ever imagining mischief and frowardness in his heart, and causeth discord.
