Yea, let him tread my life down upon the earth, and lay mine honor in the dust. Selah. ⁶ Stand up, O LORD, in thy wrath, lift up thyself, because of the indignation of mine enemies; arise up for me in the judgment that thou hast commanded.

⁹ For he lieth waiting secretly; even as a lion lurketh he in his den, that he may ravish the poor. He doth ravish the poor when he getteth him into his net. ¹⁰ He falleth down, and humbleth himself, that the congregation of the poor may fall into the hands of his captains.

³² The ungodly watcheth the righteous, and seeketh occasion to slay him. ³³ But the LORD will not leave him in his hands, nor condemn him when he is judged.

¹² They also that sought after my life laid snares for me; and they that went about to do me evil talked of wickedness, and imagined deceit all the day long.

⁶ They hold all together, and keep themselves close, and mark my steps, when they lay wait for my soul.

⁴ They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they that are mine enemies, and would destroy me guiltless, are mighty. I paid them the things that I never took.

⁶ The talking of the ungodly is how they may lay wait for blood; but the mouth of the righteous will deliver them.
