² I will open my mouth in similitudes, and will speak forth things which have been kept secret from the beginning of the world;

⁴ I will incline mine ear to the parable, and show my dark speech upon the harp.

⁶ and he that is endued with understanding shall obtain wit to perceive a parable, and the interpretation thereof; the words of the wise, and the dark speeches of the same.

¹¹ He answered, and said unto them, "It is given unto you to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. ¹² For whosoever hath, to him shall be given: and he shall have abundance. But whosoever hath not: from him shall be taken away even that same that he hath. ¹³ Therefore speak I to them in similitudes: For though they see, they see not; and hearing, they hear not, neither understand.

³⁴ All these things spake Jesus unto the people by similitudes, and with out similitudes spake he nothing to them, ³⁵ to fulfill that which was spoken by the prophet saying, "I will open my mouth in similitudes, and will speak forth things which have been kept secret from the beginning of the world."

³⁴ And without similitude spake he nothing unto them. But when they were apart, he expounded all things to his disciples.
