Revelation 18 Cross References - MSTC

1 And after that I saw another angel come from heaven, having great power, and the earth was lightened with his brightness. 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice saying, "Great Babylon is fallen is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of all foul spirits, and a cage of all unclean and hateful birds, 3 for all nations have drunken of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. And the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and her merchants are waxed rich of the abundance of her pleasures." 4 And I heard another voice from heaven say, "Come away from her, my people, that ye be not partakers in her sins, that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins are gone up to heaven, and God hath remembered her wickedness. 6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and give her double according to her works. And pour in double to her in the same cup which she filled unto you. 7 And as much as she glorified herself and lived wantonly, so much pour ye in for her of punishment, and sorrow, for she said in her heart, 'I sit, being a queen and am no widow and shall see no sorrow.' 8 Therefore shall her plagues come at one day; death, and sorrow, and hunger, and she shall be burnt with fire: for strong is the Lord God which judgeth her. 9 And the kings of the earth shall beweep her and wail over her, which have committed fornication with her, and have lived wantonly with her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10 and shall stand afar off, for fear of her punishment, saying, 'Alas, Alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city: For at one hour is her judgment come.' 11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and wail in themselves, for no man will buy their ware any more, 12 the ware of gold and silver, and precious stones, neither of pearl, and raynes, and purple, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and of iron, 13 and cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and bodies; and souls of men. 14 And the apples that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee. And all things which were dainty, and had in price, are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more. 15 The merchants of these things which were waxed rich, shall stand afar off from her, for fear of the punishment of her, weeping and wailing, 16 and saying, 'Alas alas, that great city, that was clothed in raynes, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stone, and pearls: 17 for at one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every ship governor, and all they that occupied ships, and shipmen which work in the sea, stood afar off; 18 and cried, when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, "What city is like unto this great city?' 19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping, and wailing, and said, 'Alas, Alas, that great city wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea, by the reason of her costliness, for at one hour is she made desolate.' 20 Rejoice over her thou heaven, and ye holy apostles, and prophets: for God hath given your judgment on her." 21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, "With such violence shall that great city Babylon be cast, and shall be found no more. 22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more in thee: and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee, and the sound of a mill shall be heard no more in thee, 23 and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride, shall be heard no more in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth. Out of the land of Chittim they have knowledge of this plague. 2 Be still ye that dwell in the Isle; the merchants of Sidon and such as pass over the sea have made thee plenteous. 3 For by sea were there fruits brought unto thee, and all manner of corn by water. Thou wast the common market of all people. 4 Be ashamed, thou Sidon, for the sea - even the strength of the sea - hath spoken, saying: "I have not traveled, nor brought forth children, nor nourished up young men, or brought up virgins." 5 As soon as Egypt perceiveth it, she will be as sorry as Tyre itself. 6 Get you to Tarshish; mourn ye that dwell in the Isles. 7 Is not that the glorious city, which hath been of long antiquity? Whose natives dwelling far off, commend her so greatly? 8 Who hath devised such things upon Tyre the crown of all cities, whose merchants and Captains were the highest and principal of the world? 9 Even the LORD of Hosts hath devised it, that he may put down all pomp, and minish all the Glory of the world. 10 Go through thy land, O thou daughter of the sea, as men go over the water; for thou hast no more strength. 11 He that smote the kingdoms together holdeth out his hand over the sea: even the LORD himself hat given a commandment against that mighty Canaan, to root it out. 12 And he said, "From hence forth shalt thou make no more mirth, O thou daughter of Sidon: for thou shalt be put down. Stand up therefore, and get thee over unto Chittim, where nevertheless thou shalt have no rest. 13 Behold, for thine example: The Chaldeans were such a people, that no man was like them, Assyria builded them: he set up his castles and palaces, and broke them down again. 14 Mourn, ye ships of Tarshish, for your power shall be thrown down. 15 After that, shall the seventy years of Tyre - even as long as their king's life was - be forgotten. They shall cast dust upon their heads, and lie down in the ashes. 31 They shall shave themselves, and put sackcloth upon them for thy sake. They shall mourn for thee with heartful sorrow 32 and heavy lamentation; yea, their children also shall weep for thee. Alas, what city hath so been destroyed in the sea, as Tyre is? 33 When thy wares and merchandise came from the seas, thou gavest all people enough. The kings of the earth hast thou made rich, through the multitude of thy wares and occupying: 34 But now art thou cast down in to the deep of the sea, all thy resort of people is perished with thee. 35 All they that dwell in the Isles are abashed at thee, and all their kings are afraid; yea, their faces have changed colour. 36 The merchants of the nations wonder at thee, in that thou art so clean brought to naught, and comest no more up.'"
