⁷ There are three witnesses in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three testify the same thing.

¹⁶ and when Jesus was baptized, he came out of the water: and immediately the heavens seem'd to be parted asunder before him, and he saw the Spirit ¹⁷ of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: at the same time a voice was heard from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

⁵ while he was speaking, a bright cloud surrounded them: and suddenly a voice broke out of the cloud, saying, "this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him."

¹⁶ but if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that the remonstrances of two or three persons may have its effect.

¹⁹ go and instruct all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy ghost:

¹ In the beginning was the Logos, and the Logos was with God, and the Logos was God.

³² and John testified, saying, I saw the spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. ³³ I had not known him: but he that sent me to baptize with water, had told me, "upon whom thou shalt see the spirit descending and remaining on him, the same is he who baptizeth with the holy spirit." ³⁴ this I saw, and testify'd, that he is the son of God.

²⁶ for as the father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the son, to have life in himself;

¹³ the Pharisees therefore said to him, you give a testimony of your self, your testimony is not valid. ¹⁴ Jesus answered them, though I give testimony of my self, yet my testimony is valid: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but you do not know whence I came, nor whither I go.

¹⁸ I indeed do bear testimony of my self, but the father, who has sent me, beareth witness of me likewise.

⁵⁴ Jesus answered, if I honour'd my self, my honour would be vain: it is my father that honoureth me, of whom ye say, that he is your God.

³⁰ I and my father are one.

³⁷ if I do not the works of my father, believe me not. ³⁸ but if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know and believe that the father is in me, and I in him.

²⁸ father, glorify thy name." then there came this voice from heaven, "I have glorified it, and will glorify it again."

³³ therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the father the promise of the holy spirit, he has diffused that spirit, the effects of which ye now see and hear.

³² and we are his witnesses in what we say, and so is the holy spirit, whom God hath given to those that obey him.

⁴ Now there are different gifts, but the same spirit. ⁵ and there are different offices, but the same Lord. ⁶ and there are different operations, but it is the same God who performs them all in every one.

¹⁴ the favour of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communication of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. amen.

³ how shall we escape, if we neglect that salutary doctrine? which was first published by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those that heard him; ⁴ God also giving an additional testimony both by signs, by prodigies, by divers miracles, and gifts of the holy spirit, which he distributes as he pleases.

¹² for the word of God is active and efficacious, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even to the division of soul and spirit, to the smallest and most inward parts, distinguishing the thoughts, and intentions of the heart. ¹³ so that there is not a creature that is concealed from his view: but all is naked and open to the eyes of him of whom we speak. Having then so great a high priest,

¹ Concerning the Logos, the author of Life, we declare what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have consider'd, and what has been the object of our touch.

⁶ it appear'd by the water, and by the blood, who he was, even Jesus the Messiah; not by the water only, but by the water and by the blood: besides, the spirit is a witness too, now the spirit is truth itself.

¹⁰ he that believeth on the son of God, hath the testimony of God thereto: he that does not believe God, impeaches his veracity, because he does not believe the testimony that God gave of his son. ¹¹ Now what is testified, is this, that God has given to us eternal life: and this life is by his son.

⁴ JOHN to the seven churches which are in Asia: favour and peace be with you from him WHO IS, WHO WAS, WHO WILL BE; and from the seven spirits who are before his throne; ⁵ and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the first-born of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth: unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins by his own blood,

¹³ he had a vesture dipt in blood: and his name is called, the logos of God.
