²⁶ I therefore declare to you at this present time, that I am not responsible for the ruin of any:

¹⁷ the people that were present testified, that he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead.

³⁵ he that relates this, was an eye-witness of it, and his relation is true: and he is so assured, what he says is true, that you may rely upon it.

⁶ but as they oppos'd him with invectives, he shook his garment, and said, "you your selves be answerable for your own destruction, I am clear: and for the future I shall address my self to the Gentiles."

² for I bear them witness, that they have a zeal for God, but not guided by true knowledge.

²³ I call God to witness, and may I die if it is not true, that the reason of my not coming yet to Corinth, was to avoid using any severity towards you.

² Receive me as one who has wronged no man, who has corrupted no man, who has defrauded no man.

³ (I bear them witness) yea, and beyond their power:

¹⁰ you are witnesses, and God is so too, how holy, how just and irreproachable our behaviour was to you, who believe. ¹¹ you likewise know, that we exhorted and encouraged every one of you, as a father doth his children, ¹² conjuring you to live suitably to the favour of God, who has called you to his kingdom and glory.

²² Don't be hasty to ordain any man: and be not accessory to the faults of others: preserve your own integrity.
