⁷ See! he is coming on the clouds; and every eye shall see him, even they who pierced him: then all the tribes of the earth will smite their breasts at the sight: even so it will be.

³⁰ then shall that sign, the son of man in the clouds of heaven, appear: and all the tribes of the land shall mourn, and they shall see the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

⁶⁴ Jesus reply'd, I am: moreover I declare to you, within a while ye shall see the son of man sitting on the right hand of God, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

²⁶ then shall they see the son of man coming in the clouds with power and great glory.

⁶² and Jesus answered, I AM. and ye shall see the son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

²⁷ and then shall they see the son of man come on a cloud, with power and great glory.

²⁸ but Jesus turn'd about and said to them, daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for your selves, and for your children. ²⁹ for now the time is coming, when it will be said, happy are the barren, and they who never bare, happy the breast, that never gave suck. ³⁰ then shall they cry to the mountains, fall on us; and to the hills, cover us.

³⁴ but one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and immediately blood and water issued out.

³⁷ and again the scripture saith elsewhere, "they shall look on him whom they pierced."

⁹ After this discourse, while they beheld, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. ¹⁰ and as they were looking stedfastly toward heaven, as he mounted up, on a sudden, two men appear'd before them robed in white, who said, ¹¹ "ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up to heaven? this same Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall descend in the same manner as ye have seen him ascend thither."

¹⁰ and to expect his son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivers us from impending ruin.

¹⁷ then we, who shall be still alive, shall be convey'd together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall ever be with the Lord.

⁶ if they shall fall away, to re-instate themselves by repentance: seeing, as far in them lies, they crucify the son of God afresh, and expose him to open shame.

²⁹ don't you think then that he deserves a much greater punishment, who hath despised the son of God, and counted the blood of the covenant wherewith be was sanctified, to have been justly shed, thereby offering an indignity to the spirit of grace?

² beloved, we are now the sons of God, tho' it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know, that when this change shall be, his immediate presence will give us a divine resemblance.

¹⁴ Of these did Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesy in these words, "see! the Lord is coming with ten thousand of his saints,

¹⁵ the rich men, the chief captains, and the mighty men, every bond-man, and every free-man, bid themselves in the caverns, and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains, and to the rocks, ¹⁶ "fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the lamb: ¹⁷ for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to subsist?"

¹⁴ again I looked, and I saw a white cloud, and there was sitting upon the cloud one like the son of man, having a crown of gold upon his head, ¹⁵ and a sharp sickle in his hand. and another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, "thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the reaping time is come; for the ¹⁶ harvest of the earth is ripe." so he that sat on the cloud, stretch'd out his sickle to the earth; and the earth was reaped.

¹⁵ of these wares who were enrich'd by her, shall stand afar off, under the dread of her torments, with tears and lamentations, ¹⁶ crying, alas, alas, that great city, that was cloathed in fine linnen, purple, and scarlet: decked with gold, precious stones and pearls: ¹⁷ her wealth is all sunk in a moment! the pilots and the passengers: the ships-crew, and the super-cargo's shall stand afar off, ¹⁸ and cry out, when they see the smoke of her burning, what city could be compar'd to this great city? ¹⁹ they will scatter dust on their heads, and cry with tears, and bemoaning, "alas, alas, that great city, which enrich'd all the traders by sea, by the consumption she made: how is she reduc'd to a desert, in an instant!" ²⁰ O heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets, triumph at her ruin, since God hath avenged you on her.

¹ And after these things I heard a great voice of a numerous multitude in heaven, saying, "alleluia; salvation, glory, honour, and power unto the Lord our God: ² for just and right are his judgments; for he hath condemned the grand prostitute, who corrupted the earth with her licentiousness, and hath avenged the blood of his servants that were shed by her hand." ³ again they said, "alleluia." and her smoke. rose up for ever and ever.

⁴ they shall see his face; and his name shall be. in their foreheads.

²⁰ he who testifieth these things, saith, "I come quickly." Amen. even so, come, Lord Jesus.
