³⁷ As the tyme of Noe was, so lykewyse shal the commynge of the sonne of man be. ³⁸ For as in the dayes before the floude, they did eate & drinke, mary and were maried, euen vnto the daye that Noe entred into the shippe,

⁸ And he gaue hym the couenaunt of circumcision. And he begat Isaac, and circumcised him the .viij. daye and Isaac begatte Iacob, and Iacob the twelue Patriarches.

¹⁰ Neither was it so with her onely: but also when Rebecca was wyth childe by one, I meane by oure father Isaac, ¹¹ yer the children were borne, when they had neither done good nor bad: that the purpose of God whiche is by election, might stand, it was sayed vnto her, not by the reason of workes, but by grace of the caller: ¹² the elder shall serue the yonger. ¹³ As it is wrytten: Iacob loued, but Esau he hated.

⁵ By fayth was Enoch translated that he shoulde not se death, neyther was he founde: for God had taken hym away. Before he was taken awaye, he was reported, of, that he had pleased God:

⁷ By faythe Noe honoured God, after that he was warned of thynges whiche were not sene, and prepared the arcke to the sauynge of hys housholde, thorow the whiche arcke, he condemned the worlde, and became heyre of the rightuousnes that commeth by faythe.

⁵ neyther spared the olde worlde, but saued Noe the ryght preacher of rightuousnes, and brought in the floud vpon the worlde of the vngodly,

¹⁴ Enoch the seuenth from Adam, prophesyed fore of suche, saying: Beholde, the Lorde shall come wt thousandes of saynctes,
