¹ Whosoeuer beleueth that Iesus is Christ, is borne of God. And euerye one that loueth hym whiche begat, loueth hym also whyche was begotten of hym. ² In thys we know, that we loue the children of God, when we loue God and kepe his commaundementes. ³ This is the loue of God, that we kepe his commaundementes, and his commaundementes are not greuous. ⁴ For all that is borne of God, ouercommeth the world. And this is the victorye, that ouercommeth the worlde, euen oure fayeth. ⁵ Who is it that ouercommeth the worlde, but he which beleueth, that Iesus is the sonne of God? ⁶ This Iesus Christ is he that came by water and bloude, not by water onelye, but by water and bloud. And it is the spirite that beareth witnes, because the spirite is trueth. ⁷ (For there are thre which beare recorde in heauen, the father, the worde, and the holye Ghoste. And these thre are one.) ⁸ For there are thre, whiche beare recorde in earth the spyrite and water, and bloude, and these thre are one. ⁹ If we receyue the wytnes of men, the wytnes of God is greater. For thys is the wytnes of God, whiche he testified of his sonne. ¹⁰ He that beleueth on the sonne of God, hath the wytnes in him selfe. He that beleued not God, hath made hym a lyar, because he beleued not the recorde, that God gaue of hys sonne. ¹¹ And thys is that recorde, howe that God hath geuen vnto vs eternal lyfe, and this lyfe is in his sonne. ¹² He that hath the sonne, hath lyfe: and he that hath not the sonne of God, hath not lyfe. ¹³ These thinges haue I wryten vnto you, that beleue on the name of the sonne of God, that ye maye know, how that ye haue eternal lyfe, and that ye may beleue on the name of the sonne of God. ¹⁴ And this is the truste that we haue in him, that yf we axe any thinge, accordinge to hys will he heareth vs. ¹⁵ And yf we knowe that he heareth vs whatsoeuer we axe, we knowe, that we shall haue the peticyons that we desyre of hym. ¹⁶ If any man se his brother synne a synne that is not vnto death, let him axe, and he shal geue him lyfe, for them that synne not vnto death. There is a synne vnto death, for which saye I not that a man shoulde praye. ¹⁷ All vnryghtuousnes is synne, and there is sinne not vnto death. ¹⁸ We knowe that whosoeuer is borne of God, synneth not, but he that is begotten of God kepeth him selfe, and that wycked toucheth him not. ¹⁹ We knowe that we are of God, and that the world is altogether set on wyckednes. ²⁰ We know, that the sonne of God is come, & hath geuen vs a minde to know him which is true, & we are in him, that is true thorowe his sonne Iesus Christ. This same is verye God, and eternal lyfe. ²¹ Babes kepe your selues from Images. Amen.

⁷ Nowe therfore delyuer the man his wyfe agayne, for he is a Prophete. And let him pray for the that thou mayst lyue. But and yf thou delyuer her not agayn, be sure that thou shalt dye the deth, wyth al that thou hast.

¹⁷ And so Abraham prayd vnto God, & god healed Abimelech and his wyfe and his maydens, so that they bare chyldren.

³ Thou shalt haue none other Goddes in my sight. ⁴ Thou shalt make the no grauen ymage neyther any similitude that is in heauen aboue either in the earth beneth, or in the water that is beneth the earth.

⁶ and yet shew mercy vnto thousandes among them that loue me and kepe my commaundementes.

¹⁰ & and nowe therfore suffer me that my wrath may waxe hote vpon them, and that I may consume them and then wyl I make of the a mightye people. ¹¹ Then Moyses besoughte the Lorde hys God and sayde: O Lorde, why shoulde thy wrath waxe hote vpon thy people whiche thou hast brought out of the Lande of Egipt wt great power and with a mighty hande? ¹² wherfore shuld the Egyptians speake & say: For a mychefe dyd he brynge them out: euen for to slee them in the mountayns, and to consume them from the face of the earth. Turne from thy fearse wrath, and haue compassion ouer the wickednesse of thy people. ¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel thy seruauntes, to whom thou sworest by thyne owne selfe & saidest vnto them. I wyll multiplye youre seed as the starres of heauen, and all thys lande which I haue sayd, I wyll geue vnto youre seede: and they shal enheret it for euer ¹⁴ And the Lord refrained him selfe from the euil whych he sayed he wold do vnto his people.

³¹ And Moses went agayne vnto the Lorde & sayd: Oh, thys people haue synned a great synne & haue made them a god of gold: ³² Yet forgeue them their synne I praye the: If not wype me out of thy boke which thou hast written.

⁹ & said: If I haue found grace in thy sight, O Lorde, then let my Lorde go wyth vs (for it is a stubburne people) & haue mercy vpon our wickednes & our sinne, and let vs be thyne enheritaunce.

¹¹ for the lyfe of the flesh is in the bloud, and I haue geuen it vnto you vpon the alter, to make an attonement for youre soules,

¹³ And Moses cryed vnto the Lord sayinge: Oh God, heale her.

¹¹ And the Lorde sayde vnto Moses: Howe longe shall thys people rayle vpon me, & how long wyll it be yer they beleue me, for all my sygnes whiche I haue shewed amonge them? ¹² I wyll smyte them wyth the pestilence and destroy them, & wyll make of the a greater nacion & a myghtier then they. ¹³ And Moses sayd vnto the Lorde: then the Egyptians shall heare it, for thou broughtest thys people wyth thy myghte from among them. ¹⁴ And it wylbe told to the inhabiters of thys land also, for they haue heard likewyse, that thou the Lord arte among thys people, & that thou art sene face to face, and that thy cloude standeth ouer them & that thou goest before them by day tyme in a pyller of a cloud and in a pyller of fire by night. ¹⁵ If thou shalt kyl al thys people as they were but one man then the nacions which haue herde the fame of the, wyl speake saying: ¹⁶ because the Lorde was not able to brynge in thys people in to the land which he sware vnto them, therfore he slewe them in the wyldernesse. ¹⁷ So nowe let the power of my Lorde be greate, acordyng as thou hast spoken saying: ¹⁸ the Lord is longe year he be angrye, and ful of mercy, and suffereth synne and trespace, and leaueth no man innocent, and vysyteth the vnrighteousnesse of the fathers vpon the chyldren, euen vpon the thyrd and fourth generacion, ¹⁹ be mercyfull I beseche the therfore vnto the synne of thys people according vnto thy greate mercy, and accordyng as thou hast forgeuen thys people from Egypt euen vnto thys place. ²⁰ And the Lorde sayde: I haue forgeuen it, accordyng to thy request. ²¹ But as trulye as I lyue, al the erth shalbe fylled wt my glorye.

³⁰ And the soule that doeth ought presumptously, whether he be an Israelite or a straunger, the same hath despised the Lorde. And that soule shal be destroied from among his people

²⁶ And he spake vnto the congregation saying: depart from the tentes of these wicked men & touche nothynge of theyrs: lest ye peryshe in al theyr synnes. ²⁷ And they gate them from the dwellynge of Corah, Dathan, and Abiram on euerye syde. And Dathan and Abiram came oute and stode in the dore of theyr tentes wyth theyr wyues, theyr sonne and theyr children. ²⁸ And Moses sayed hereby ye shall knowe that the Lorde hath sente me, to do all these worckes, & that I haue not done them of mine own mynd: ²⁹ If these men dye the commen death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men, then the Lorde hathe not sent me. ³⁰ But and if the Lorde make a newe thyng, and the earth open hyr mouth & swalowe theim, and all that pertayne vnto them, so that they go downe quicke vnto hel: then ye shal vnderstand, that these men haue rayled vpon the Lord. ³¹ And assone as he hadde made an ende of speakyng al these wordes, the ground cloue a sunder that was vnder them, ³² and the earth opened hyr mouth and swalowed them and theyr houses, and al menne that were wyth Corah and al theyr goodes.

¹⁹ The Lorde is not a man, that he can lye, neither the sonne of man that he can repente: should he saye and not do, or shoulde he speake and not make it good?

¹⁰ and shewe mercye vpon thousandes amonge them that loue me and kepe my commaundementes.

³² Take hede therfore that ye do as the lord your God hath commaunded you, & turne not a syde: either to the ryght hande or to the lyfte,

⁴ Heare Israel, the Lord thy God is Lord onely,

⁹ Vnderstande therefore, that the Lord thy God he is god & that a true god, which kepeth pointment and mercy vnto them that loue him and kepe hys commaundementes, euen thorowe oute a thousande generations

¹⁸ And I fell before the Lord: euen as at the fyrst tyme .xl. dayes & .xl. nyghtes & neither ate breade nor dranke water ouer all your synnes which ye had sinned in doynge wickedly in the sight of the Lord & in prouokyng hym. ¹⁹ For I was afrayed of the wrath and fearcenes wherwith the Lorde was angry wyth you, euen to haue destroyed you. But the Lorde hearde my peticion at that tyme also. ²⁰ The Lorde was very angry with Aaron also, euen for to haue destroyed hym: But I made intercession for Aaron also the same tym

¹² And now Israel what is it that the Lord thy God requireth of the, but to feare the lord thy God and to walke in all hys wayes & to loue him & to serue the Lord thy God with al thyne herte, & with al thy soule, ¹³ that thou kepe the commaundementes of the Lorde & hys ordinaunces which I commaund the this day, for thy wealth.

³² But whatsoeuer I commaunde you that take hede ye do: & put nought thereto nor take therfrom.

²⁵ If one man synne agaynste another daysemen maye make his peace: but yf a man synne agaynste the Lorde who can be hys dayse man? Notwythstandynge they herkened not vnto the voice of theyr father, because the Lorde wolde slaye them.

¹⁸ There was verye moche people out of Ephraim, Manasseh, Isakar and Zabulon that were not cleane, and therfore dyd eate passeouer otherwyse then wrytynge specyfyeth. But Hezekiah prayed for them & sayd: the good Lorde ¹⁹ be mercyfull to all that sett theyr hertes to seke the God that is the Lord God of theyr fathers, though they do yt not accordynge to the clennesse of the holy place. ²⁰ And the Lorde heard Hezekiah and healed the people.

²⁵ Is it not so? Who wyll then reproue me as a lyar, & say that my wordes are nothing worth.

²⁸ In so muche that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto hym, and nowe he heareth the complaynte of suche as are in necessite.

⁷ Now when the Lord had spoken these wordes vnto Iob, he sayde vnto Elephas the Themanite: I am displeased with the & thy two frendes, for ye haue not spoken the thyng that is right before me, lyke as my seruaunte Iob hath done. ⁸ Therfore take .vij. oxen & .vij. rammes, and go to my seruaunte Iob: offre vp also for your selues a brentofferynge: & let my seruaunte Iob praye for you. Hym wyll I accepte, & not deale with you after youre folishnesse: in that ye haue not spoken the thynge whiche is right, like as my seruaunt Iob hath done. ⁹ So Elephas the Themanite, Baldad the Suhyte & Sophar the Naamathite went their waye, and dyd accordynge as the Lorde commaunded them. The Lorde also accepted the personne of Iob,

⁴ Because of the woordes of thy lippes, I haue kepte me from the workes of men, in the waye of the murtherer.

²³ Vncorrupte wyll I be before him, and will eschue myne owne wyckednes.

⁷ The lawe of the Lorde is a perfecte lawe it quickeneth the soule. The testimonye of the Lorde is true, and geueth wisdome euen vnto babes. ⁸ The statutes of the Lord are ryght, and reioyse the hert: the commaundement of the lord is pure, and geueth lyght vnto the eyes. ⁹ The feare of the Lorde is cleane, and endureth for euer: the iudgementes of the Lord are true and ryghtuous altogether. ¹⁰ More pleasaunt are they then golde, yea then much fyne golde: sweter then hony and the hony combe. ¹¹ These thy seruaunt kepeth, & for kepynge of them there is great reward.

¹⁴ The secrete of the Lorde is amonge them that feare him, and he sheweth them hys couenaunt.

²² For when the suddaine feare cam vpon me I said: I am cast out of thy sighte. Neuerthelesse, thou herdest myne humble prayer, when I cried vnto the.

⁶ By the worde of the Lorde were the heauens made, and all the hoostes of theym by the breth of hys mouth.

¹⁷ When the righteous crye, the Lorde heareth them, & delyuereth them out of all theyr troubles.

¹ To the chanter for Iduthun, a Psalme of Dauid. I sayde: I wyll kepe my wayes that I offende not in my tonge And so I shutte my mouthe whyle the vngodly layed wait for me.

³³ For the Lorde heareth the poore, and despyseth not hys priesoners.

²³ So he sayde he wuld haue destroyed them had not Moses hys chosen stand before him in that gappe: to turne awaye his wrathfull indignatyon, lest he should destroy them.

⁴⁵ And I wyll walcke at lybertye, for I seke thy commaundementes.

⁴⁷ My delyte shalbe in thy commaundementes whych I loue. ⁴⁸ My handes also wyll I lyft vp vnto thy commaundementes which I loue, and my talkinge shalbe of thy statutes.

¹⁰¹ I refrayne my fete from euery euell waye, that I maye kepe thy woordes.

¹⁰³ O howe swete are thy woordes vnto my throte? Yea, more then hony vnto my mouth. ¹⁰⁴ Thorow thy commaundementes I gette vnderstandynge, therefore I hate all false wayes.

¹²⁷ For I loue thy commaundementes aboue golde and precious stone. ¹²⁸ Therfore holde I streyght all thy commaundementes, and all false wayes I vtterly abhorre.

¹⁴⁰ Thy worde is tryed to the vttermost, and thy seruaunt loueth it.

¹⁷ Her wayes are pleasaunte wayes, and al her pathes are peaceable.

³² for the Lorde abhorreth the froward, but hys secrete is amonge the rightuous.

²³ Kepe thyne herte wyth all dilygence, for there vpon hangeth lyfe.

²⁹ The Lorde is farre from the vngodly, but he heareth the praier of the rightuous.

¹⁸ Nowe go to (sayth the Lorde) we will talke together. Is it not so? Thoughe youre synnes be as reade as scarlet, shal they not be whyther then snowe? And though they were lyke purple, shall they not be lyke white wolle?

⁶ For vnto vs a chylde shalbe borne, and vnto vs a sonne shalbe geuen. Vpon his shoulder shall the kyngedome lye, and he shalbe called with hys owne name. The wonderous geuer of councel, the myghty God, the euerlastinge father, the prynce of peace,

⁶ Moreouer, thus hath the Lorde spoken: euen the Kynge of Israel, and his auenger, the Lorde of Hostes: I am the fyrst & the last, and with out me is there no God.

³ I shall geue the the hyd treasure & the thinge which is secretly kepte: that thou maiest knowe that I the God of Israel haue called the by thy name: ⁴ & that for Iacob my seruauntes sake and for Israel my chosen. For I called the by thy name, & ordened the or euer thou knewest me:

¹⁴ The Lorde hath sayde moreouer: The occupiers of Egypte, the marchauntes of the Morians and Sabees, shall come vnto the with trybute, they shalbe thyne, they shall folowe the, & go with cheynes vpon their fete. They shall fall downe before the, and make supplicacyon vnto the. For God (without whom there is none other God) shall be with the. ¹⁵ O how profunde art thou O God, thou God & Sauioure of Israel?

²¹ Lett men drawe nye, let them come hyther, & aske councell one at another, and shewe forth: What is he, that tolde this before? or who spake of it, euer sence the begynnynge? Haue not I the Lorde done it: wythout whom there is none other God? the true God and Sauioure, and there is els none but I? ²² And therfore turne you vnto me (all ye endes of the earth) so shall ye be saued, for I am God, and there is els none. ²³ I sweare by my selfe, out of my mouth commeth the worde of ryghtuousnesse, and that maye no man turne: but all knees shall bowe vnto me, and all tunges shall sweare by me, ²⁴ sayinge: Verelye in the Lorde is my ryghtuousnes and strength. To hym shall men come: but all they that thyncke scorne of hym, shalbe confounded. ²⁵ And the whole sede of Israel shalbe iustyfyed, and praysed in the Lorde.

¹⁶ Come nye and heare this, haue I spoken anye thynge darcklye sence the begynnynge? when a thing begynneth, I am there. Wherfore the Lorde God with his spryte hathe sent me, ¹⁷ And thus sayeth the Lord God thyne auenger, the holye one of Israell: I am the Lorde thy God, whiche teache the profitable thynges, & leade the the waye, that thou shuldest go.

¹ Bvt who geueth credence vnto oure preachynge? Or to whome is the arme of the Lorde knowne?

⁵ For he that made the, shalbe thy Lorde & husband (whose name is the Lorde of hostes) & thyne auenger shalbe euen the holy one of Israel, the Lorde of the whole worlde.

¹ The spirite of the Lorde God is with me, for the Lorde hath annointed me, & sent me, to preache good tydinges vnto the poore, that I myght binde vp the wounded hertes, that I myght preach delyueraunce to the captyue, and open the preson to them that are bounde:

¹⁶ Therfore thou shalt not praye for this people, thou shalt nether geue thankes, nor byd prayer for them: thou shalt make no intercessyon to me for them for in no wyse wil I heare the.

¹⁰ But the Lorde is a true God, a lyuynge God, and an euerlastinge kyng. Yf he be wroth, the earthe shaketh: all the Gentiles maye not abyde his indygnacyon.

¹⁴ But praye not thou for thys people, byd neyther prayse nor prayer for them, for thoughe they crye vnto me in theyr trouble, yet wyl I not heare them.

¹¹ Yee euen thus sayde the Lorde vnto me: Thou shalt not praye to do this people good.

¹ Then spake the Lorde vnto me, & sayde: Though Moses and Samuel stode before me, yet haue I no herte to thys people. Dryue them awaye, that they maye go out of my syght. ² And yf they saye vnto the: Whyther shall we go? Then tell them: The Lorde geueth you thys answere: Some vnto death, some to the swearde, some to honger, some in to captyuyte.

¹² Doth one yron hurte another, or one metall that commeth from the North, another? ¹³ As for youre ryches and treasure, I wyll geue them out in to a praye, not for eny money, but because of all your synnes, that ye haue done in all youre coastes.

¹⁸ Shall my heuynes endure for euer? Are my plages then so greate, that they maye neuer be healed? Wilt thou be as a water, that falleth, and can not continue?

¹⁸ Then sayde they: come, let vs ymagyn smothynge agaynst this Ieremy. Yee thys dyd euen the prestes, to whom the lawe was commytted: the Senatours, that were the wysest, and the prophetes, whiche wanted not the worde of God. Come (sayde they) lett vs cut out hys tunge, & let vs not regarde his wordes. ¹⁹ Consydre me, O Lorde, and heare the voyce of myne enemies. ²⁰ Do they not recompence euell for good, when they dygg a pyt for my soule? Remembre, how that I stode before the, to speake for them, and to turne awaye thy wrath from them. ²¹ Therfore let their chyldren dye of hunger and lett them be oppressed with the swearde. Let their wyues be robbed of their chyldren, and become widdowes: let their housbandes be slayne, lett their yonge men be kylled with the swearde in the felde.

⁶ In hys tyme shall Iuda be saued and Israell shall dwell without feare. And thys is the name that they shall call hym: euen the Lorde oure ryghtuous maker.

¹² Ye shal crye vnto me, ye shall go & call vpon me, & I shall heare you. ¹³ Ye shall seke me & fynde me, Yea, yf so be that ye seke me with your whole herte,

³ thou hast cryed vnto me, and I haue hearde the: I haue shewed greate and hye thinges, whiche were vnknowen vnto you.

²⁶ When a ryghteous man turneth away from his ryghteousnesse, and medleth with vngodlynes: he must dye therin: yea for the vnryghteousnes that he hath done, must he dye. ²⁷ Agayne, when the wycked man turneth awaye from his wickednesse, that he hath done, & doth the thinge whiche is equall and ryght, he shall saue hys soule alyue. ²⁸ For in so muche as he remembreth hym selfe, & turneth him from all the vngodlynes, that he had vsed, he shall lyue, and not dye. ²⁹ And yet sayeth the house of Israell: Tush the waye of the Lorde is not equall. Are my wayes vnryght, O ye house of Israel: Are not youre wayes rather vnequal? ³⁰ As for me I will iudge euery man, accordynge to hys wayes, O ye house of Israel, sayeth the Lord God. Wherfore be conuerted, and turne you cleane from all youre wickednesse, so shall there no sinne do you harme. ³¹ Caste awaye from you all your vngodlinesse, that ye haue done: make you new hertes and a new spirit. Wherfore will ye dye, O ye house of Israel? ³² seyng, I haue no pleasure in the death of him that dyeth, sayeth the Lorde God. Turne you then, and ye shall lyue.

³⁰ And I soughte in the lande for a man, that woulde make vp the hedge, and set him selfe in the gappe before me in the landes behalfe, that I shoulde not vtterlye destroy it: but I coulde fynde none.

²⁵ Then wyll I poure cleare water vpon you, & ye shalbe clene: yee from all your vnclennesse and from all your Idols shal I clense you.

⁴ I prayed before the Lorde my God, and knowledged, sayinge: O Lorde, thou greate and fearfull God, thou that kepest couenaunt and mercye wyth them, whiche loue the, and do thy commaundementes.

¹ The Lorde God shewed me such a vysyon: beholde, there stode one that made gresshoppers, euen when the corne was shuting forth, after the kinge had clypte hys shepe. ² Nowe when they vndertoke to eat vp all the greue thynges in the lande, I sayd: O Lorde God, be mercyfull, I beseche the: who shuld els help vp Iacob, that is brought so lowe? ³ So the Lorde was gracyons therin, and the Lorde sayde: well, it shal not be.

⁸ I wyll shewe the, O man, what is good, & what the Lorde requyreth of the: Namely, to do right, to haue pleasure in louynge kyndnesse, to be lowlye, and to walcke wyth thy God:

¹¹ Thou also thorow thy bloude of thy couenaunt, shalte let thy presoners out of the pyt, wherin is no water.

¹⁶ And Iesus as sone as he was baptysed came straight out of the water. And lo heauen was open ouer him: and Ihon sawe the spirite of God descende like a doue, and light vpon him. ¹⁷ And lo ther came a voice from heauen sayinge. This is my beloued sonne in whom is my delyte.

¹³ And lead vs not into temptaciou. But delyuer vs from euyll. For thyne is the kingdome and the power, and the glorye for euer Amen.

⁷ Axe and it shalbe geuen you. Seke and ye shall fynde. Knocke & it shalbe opened vnto you. ⁸ For whosoeuer axeth receyueth, and he that seketh fyndethe, and to hym that knocketh, it shalbe opened. ⁹ Ys there any man amonge you whiche if his sonne axed hym bread, would offer him a stone? ¹⁰ Or if he axed fyshe, woulde he profer him a serpente? ¹¹ Yf ye then whyche are euyll, can geue to youre chyldren good gyftes: howe muche more shall your father whiche is in heauen, geue good thinges to them that axe hym?

²⁸ Come vnto me all ye that labour and are laden and I wyll ease you. ²⁹ Take my yocke on you and learne of me, for I am meke and lowly in herte: and ye shall fynde reste vnto your soules. ³⁰ For my yocke is easy: and my burden is lyght.

³¹ Wherfore I saye vnto you, all maner of synne and blasphemy of forgeuen vnto men: but the blasphemy of the sprete, shall not be forgeuen vnto men. ³² And whosoeuer speaketh a worde against the sonne of man, it shall be forgeuen him. But whosoeuer speaketh againste the holye ghost, it shall not be forgeuen him: no, neyther in this worlde, neyther in the worlde to come.

⁴⁶ Whyle he yet talked to the people: beholde his mother and his brethren stode without, desyrynge to speake with hym. ⁴⁷ Then one sayd vnto: beholde thy mother and brethren stande without, desyrynge to speake with the. ⁴⁸ He aunswered and sayd to hym that tolde him: Who is my mother? Who are my brethren? ⁴⁹ And he stretched forth his hande ouer his disciples, and sayd: beholde my mother & my brethren. ⁵⁰ For whosoeuer doth my fathers wyll which is in heauen, the same is my brother, syster and mother.

¹¹ He aunswered and sayde vnto theym: it is geuen vnto you to know the secretes of the kyngdom of heauen, but to them it is not geuen

¹⁶ Simon Peter aunswered and sayde: Thou arte Christ the sonne of the liuynge God.

⁵ Whyle he yet speake, beholde a bryght cloude shadowed theim. And beholde there came a voyce out of the cloude, sayinge: this is my deare sonne, in whome I delite heare hym.

¹⁶ But if he heare the not, then take yet with the one or two, that in the mouthe of two or thre witnesses, all thynges may be stablished.

²² And whatsoeuer ye shall axe in prayer (yf ye beleue) ye shall receyue it.

⁴⁶ And these shall go into euerlasting payne. And the righteouse into lyfe eternall.

²⁶ But when the comforter is come, whome I will sende vnto you from the father, which is the spirite of truth, which proceadeth of the father, he shall testify of me.

²⁸ Thomas aunswered and said vnto hym: My Lord and my God:

²⁸ And as it semed not good vnto them to be a knowen of God, euen so God deliuered them vp vnto a leud minde, that they should do those thinges, whiche were not comly, ²⁹ beyng ful of al vnryghtuous doing, of fornicacion, wickednes, couetousnes, maliciousnes, full of enuye, murther, debate, disceite, euyl condicioned, whisperers, ³⁰ backbiters, haters of God, doers of wronge, proude, bosters, bryngers vp of euyll thinges, disobedient to father and mother, ³¹ wythout vnderstandynge, couenaunt breakers, vnlouinge, truce breakers and mercyles. ³² Whyche men though they knewe the ryghtuousnes of God, howe that they which such thinges commit, are worthy of death, yet not onely do the same, but also haue pleasure in them that do them.

⁹ What saye we then? Are we better then daye? No, in no wyse. For we haue alreadye proued, howe that both Iewes and Gentyls are all vnder synne: ¹⁰ as it is wrytten: There is none righteous, no not one: ¹¹ there is none that vnderstandeth, there is none that seketh after God, ¹² they are all gone out of the waye, they are all made vnprofytable, there is none that doeth good, no not one. ¹³ Theyr throte is an open sepulchre, with theyr tonges they haue disceyued, the poyson of aspes is vnder their lippes. ¹⁴ Whose mouthes are full of curssyng and bytternes. ¹⁵ Theyr fete are swyfte to sheed bloude. ¹⁶ Destruccyon and wretchednes are in theyr wayes. ¹⁷ And the way of peace they haue not knowen. ¹⁸ There is no feare of God before theyr eyes.

²⁵ whome God hath made a seate of mercye thorowe fayth in hys bloude, to shewe the rightuousnes whiche before hym is of valoure, in that he forgeueth the synnes that are passed, whiche God dyd suffer

³⁵ Who shall seperate vs from the loue of God shall tribulation? or anguyshe? or persecution? othere honger? other nakednesse? other peryll? other swearde? ³⁶ As it is wrytten: For thy sake are we killed al day longe, and are counted as shepe appointed to be slayne. ³⁷ Neuerthelesse in all these thynges we ouercome stronglye thorowe hys helpe that loued vs.

⁵ whose also are the fathers & they of whom (as concerninge the flesh) Christe came, whiche is God ouer al thynges blessed for euer. Amen.

⁴ There are diuersities of gyftes verelye, yet but one spirite. ⁵ And there are differences of administracions, & yet but one Lorde. ⁶ And there are diuerse maners of operations, and yet but one God, which worketh all thinges that are wrought, in all creatures.

⁵⁷ But thankes be vnto God, which hath geuen vs victory, thorowe our Lorde Iesus Christ.

¹² Oure reioysinge is this, the testimony of oure conscience, that in synglenes and Godly purenes, and not in fleshely wysdome, but by the grace of God, we haue had oure conuersation in the worlde, and moste of all to youwardes.

¹ We knowe surelye yf oure earthy mansyon wherin we nowe dwell were destroyed, that we haue a buyldynge ordeyned of God an habitacyon not made with handes, but eternall in heauen.

¹³ I know thy workes, and where thou dwellest euen where Sathans seate is, and thou kepest my name, and hast not denyed my fayth. And in my dayes, Antypas was a faithful wytnes of myne whych was slaine among you, where Sathan dwelleth.

¹⁷ Let him that hath eares, heare what the spyryte sayeth vnto the congregacyons. To hym that ouercommeth will I geue to eate Manna, that is hyd and wyll geue hym a whyte stone, and in the stone a new name wrytten, whiche no man knoweth sauynge he that receiueth it.

²⁶ and whosoeuer ouercommeth and kepeth my workes vnto the ende, to hym wyl I geue power ouer nacions,

²⁸ so wyll I geue him, the morninge starre.

⁵ He that ouercommeth, shalbe clothed in whyte araye, and I wyll not put out hys name out of the boke of lyfe, and I wyll confesse his name before my father, and before his angels.

⁷ And wryte vnto the tydinges bringer of the congregacyon of Philadelphia, this sayeth he that is holy and true, which hath the keye of Dauid, which openeth and no man shutteth, and shutteth & no man openeth. ⁸ I know thy workes. Beholde I haue set before the an open doore, and no man can shut it, for thou hast a lytel strength, and hast kept my saiynges: and hast not denyed my name, ⁹ Behold I make them of the congregacion of Sathan, which cal them selues Iewes and are not, but do lye: Beholde: I wyl make them that they shal come and worshyppe before thy fete, and shal knowe that I loue the. ¹⁰ Because thou hast kepte the wordes of my pacience, therfore I wyll kepe from the houre of temptacyon, which wyll come vpon al the worlde, to tempte them that dwell vpon the earth.

¹² Hym that ouercommeth, wyl I make a pyller in the temple of my God, and he shal go no more out. And I wyl wryte vpon him, the name of my God, and the name of the cytye of my God, newe Ierusalem, which commeth doune out of heauen from my God, & I wyl wryte vpon him my newe name.

¹⁴ And vnto the messenger of the congregacion, which is in Laodicia wryte: Thys sayth (Amen) the faythful and true wytnes, the beginninge of the creatures of God.

²¹ To hym that ouercommeth, wyl I graunt to sit with me in my seate euen as I ouercame and haue sitten wyth my father, in his seate.

⁹ and they songe a new songe saiyng: thou art worthy to take the boke, and to open the seales therof: for thou wast kylled, & hast redemed vs by thy bloud out of al kynredes, and tonges, and people, and nacions

¹⁰ and they cryed wyth a loude voyce sayinge: Howe longe tariest thou Lord holy and true, to iudge and to auenge oure bloud on them that dwell on the earth?

¹⁴ And I sayd vnto hym: Lorde thou wotest. And he said vnto me: these are they which came out of great tribulacion, and made their garmentes large and made them white, in the bloude of the lambe,

²⁰ And the remnaunt of the men which were not kylled by these plages, repented not of the dedes of their handes, that they should not worship deuyls, and Images of gold, and syluer, and brasse, and stone, and of wood, whych neyther can se, neyther heare, neyther go.

⁹ And the great dragon, that olde serpente called the deuyll and Sathanas was caste out. Whiche deceyueth al the worlde. And he was cast into the earth, and his angelles were cast out also.

¹¹ And they ouercame hym by the bloude of the lambe, and by the worde of theyr testimony, and they loued not theyr liues vnto the death.

¹⁷ And the dragon was wroth wyth the woman, and went and made warre wyth the remnaunt of her seede, whiche kepe the commaundementes of God, and haue the testimonye of Iesus Christe. And I stode on the sea sande.

⁷ And it was geuen vnto hym to make warre wyth the Saynctes, and to ouercome them. And power was geuen hym ouer al kynredes, tonges and nacions, ⁸ and al that dwel vpon the earth worshipte him, whose names are not written in the boke of lyfe of the lambe, which was killed from the beginning of the worlde.

¹⁴ And deceiued them that dwelt on the earth by the meanes of those sygnes, which he had power to do in the syght of the beaste, saying to them that dwelt on the earth, that they should make an ymage vnto the beaste, whyche had the wounde of a swearde, and dyd lyue. ¹⁵ And he had power to geue a spyryte vnto the ymage of the beaste, and that the ymage of the beast should speake, and shoulde cause that as manye as would not worshyppe the ymage of the beaste, shoulde be kylled.

¹¹ And the smoke of their tormente ascendeth vp euermore. And they haue no rest daye nor night, which worship the beaste & his ymage, and whosoeuer receiueth the prynt of hys name.

² And I sawe as it were a glassy sea, mingled wt fyre, & them that had gotten victory of the beast and of his ymage, and of his marke, & of the numbre of his name, stande on the glassye sea, hauinge the harpes of God, ³ and they songe the songe of Moises the seruaunt of God, & they songe of the lamb, sayinge: Great & maruelous are thy workes Lorde God almighty, iuste & true are thy wayes kynge of sainctes.

¹¹ And I sawe heauen open, & beholde a whyt horsse: and he that sate vpon hym was faythful and true, & in rightuousnes dyd he iudge & make battayl.

¹³ And he was clothed with a vesture dipt in bloud, & his name is called the worde of God.

³ and cast him into the botomles pyt, and he bounde hym, and set a seale on him, that he shuld deceyue the people nomore, tyl the thousand yeares were fulfilled. And after that he must be loused for a lytle season.

⁷ And when the thousand yeres are expired, Sathan shal be loused out of hys pryson, ⁸ & shal go out to deceiue the people which are in the four quarters of the earthe Gog & Magog, to gether them together to battayle, whose nomber is as the sande of the sea,

¹ And he shewed me a pure ryuer of water of life cleare as cristal: procedyng out of the seat of god and of the lambe.
