²⁰ which were in tyme passed disobedient, when the longe sufferinge of God abode excedinge paciently in the dayes of Noe, whyle the arcke was a preparing wherin fewe (that is to saie .viij. soules) were saued by water,

³ And the Lorde sayde: My spirite shall not alway striue wyth man, for they are flesh. Neuerthelesse I wyl geue them yet space, an .C. & .xx. yeres.

⁵ And whan the Lord saw that the wekednesse of man was encreased vpon the erth, & that al the ymaginacion & thoughtes of his hert was only euell contynually,

¹³ Than sayde God to Noe: the ende of all flesh is come before me, for the erth is full of their myschefe. And lo, I wyl destroye them with the erth.

¹³ And the selfe same daye went Noe, Sem, Ham & Iapheth, Noes sonnes, & Noes wyf & the .iij. wyues of hys sonnes with them in to the arcke:

¹⁷ And the floud came .xl. dayes and .xl. nyghtes vpon the erth, & the water increased & bare vp the arcke, & it was lyfte vp from of the erth. ¹⁸ And the water preuayled & increased exceadingly vpon the erth: & the arcke went vpon the toppe of the waters. ¹⁹ And the waters preuailed excedingly aboue mesure vpon the erth, so that all the hye hylles whych are vnder all the partes of heauen were couered ²⁰ euen .xv. cubytes hye preuayled the waters, so that the hylles were couered. ²¹ And all flesh that moued on the erth, both birdes, catell and beastes perysshed, with al that crepte on the erth and al men: ²² so that al that had the breth of lyfe in the nostrels of it thorow out all that was on drye lande, dyed. ²³ Thus was destroyed al that was vpon the erth, both man, beastes, wormes and foules of the ayre, so that they were destroyed from the erth: saue Noe was reserued onlye and they that were with him in the arck.

¹ And God remembred Noe & al the beastes & al the catel that were with him in the arck. And God made a wynde to blowe vpon the erth, & the waters ceased:

¹⁸ And Noe came out, & hys sonnes, & his wyfe, and hys sonnes wiues wyth him.

¹⁸ Yet standeth the Lorde waytynge, that he maye haue mercye vpon you, and lyfteth hym selfe vp, that he maye receyue you to grace. For the Lorde God is ryghtuous. Happy are all they that wayte for him.

¹⁴ But strayt is the gate, and narrowe is the waye which leadeth vnto lyfe: & feawe there be that fynde it.

³⁷ As the tyme of Noe was, so lykewyse shal the commynge of the sonne of man be. ³⁸ For as in the dayes before the floude, they did eate & drinke, mary and were maried, euen vnto the daye that Noe entred into the shippe, ³⁹ & knew of nothinge, tyll the floude came and toke them all awaye. So shal also the comminge of the sonne of man be.

³² Feare not litel flocke, for it is your fathers pleasure, to geue you a kingdom.

²⁴ stryue with your selues to enter in at the strayte gate: For manye I saye vnto you wyl seke to enter in, & shal not be able. ²⁵ When the good man of the house is rysen vp, and hathe shut to the dore, ye shall begynne to stande without, and to knocke at the dore, saiynge: Lorde Lorde open to vs: and he shall aunswere and saye vnto you: I knowe you not whence ye are.

²⁶ As it happened in the tyme of Noe: So shal it be in the tyme of the sonne of man. ²⁷ They ate, they dranke, they maryed wyues, and were maryed euen vnto the same daye that Noe wente into the arke, and the floude came & destroyed them all. ²⁸ Lykewyse also, as it chaunsed in the dayes of Lot. They ate, they dranke they bought, they solde, they planted, they buylte. ²⁹ And euen the same daye that Lot went out of Zodome, it rayned fyre and brymstone from heauen, and destroyed them. ³⁰ After these ensamples, shal it be in the daye when the sonne of man shall appeare.

⁴ Eyther despysest thou the riches of hys goodnes, pacience and longe sufferaunce? and remembreste not howe that the kindnes of God leadeth the to repentaunce? ⁵ But thou after thyne harde herte that can not repente, heapeste the together the treasure of wrath againste the daye of vengaunce, when shall be opened the rightuous iudgement of God,

²² Euen so God wyllynge to shewe his wrath, and to make his power knowen, suffered wyth longe pacience the vessels of wrath, ordeined to damnacion,

¹⁵ For we are vnto God the swete sauoure of Christe, bothe amonge them that are saued, and also among them whiche peryshe. ¹⁶ To the one part are we the sauoure of death vnto death. And vnto the other parte are we the lauoure of lyfe vnto lyfe. And who is mete vnto these thynges?

²⁶ to sanctifye it, and cleansed it in the fountayne of water thorowe the worde

⁷ By faythe Noe honoured God, after that he was warned of thynges whiche were not sene, and prepared the arcke to the sauynge of hys housholde, thorow the whiche arcke, he condemned the worlde, and became heyre of the rightuousnes that commeth by faythe.

⁵ neyther spared the olde worlde, but saued Noe the ryght preacher of rightuousnes, and brought in the floud vpon the worlde of the vngodly,

¹⁵ And suppose that the longe suffering of the Lord is saluacion, euen as oure dearlye beloued brother Paule accordinge to the wysdome geuen to hym wrote vnto you,
