¹⁴ And he caried awaye all Ierusalem, and all the Lordes, and all the men of myghte, to the nombre of ten thousande into captyuyte, and all craftes men and Ioyners, none remaynynge saue the poore people of the lande.

¹⁹ Then came the Ziphites to Saul, to Gabaah sayinge: Dauid hydeth hym selfe fast by vs in stronge holdes that are in a thycket in the hyl of Hachilah on the ryght syde of the wyldernesse. ²⁰ Now therfore syr kynge, come downe wyth all the lust that thy soule hath to come. And oure parte shalbe to delyuer hym into the handes of the kynge. ²¹ Then sayd Saul: Blessed are ye in the Lorde: for ye haue compassion on me. ²² Go, I praye you and marke more dylygently, and knowe and se hys haunt where hys fote hath bene, and who hath sene hym there: for it is told me that he is very sotel.

¹⁶ And al the men of actiuite to the nombre of seuen thousande, & craftesmen and ioyners a thousand, all stronge & apte for warre,

¹² and lefte of the poore of the lande to dresse the vynes, and to tyl the grounde.

⁹ Iehoacin was .viij. yeare olde when he beganne to raygne, and he raygned thre monethes and ten dayes in Ierusalem: and dyd that displeased the Lord. ¹⁰ And when the yere was out, kynge Nabuchodonozor sent & fet him to Babilon with the goodlye vessels of the house of the Lord, & made Zebekiah his brother kynge ouer Iuda and Ierusalem.

¹ The Lorde shewed me a vysion: Beholde, there stode two maundes of fygges before the temple of the Lord, after that Nabuchodonosor kynge of Babylon had led awaye captyue Iechoniah the sonne of Iehoakim kynge of Iuda, the mightie men also of Iuda, with the worckmaysters, and connynge men of Ierusalem, vnto Babylon. ² In the one maunde were verye good fyges, euen lyke as those that be fyrst rype. In the other maunde were verye naughtye fyges, which might not be eaten, they were so euell. ³ Then sayde the Lorde vnto me, what seyste thou Ieremy? I sayde: fyges, wherof some be verye good, and some so euell, that no man maye eate them. ⁴ Then came the worde of the Lorde vnto me, after this maner: ⁵ Thus sayeth the Lorde the God of Israell: lyke as thou knowest the good fyges, so shall I knowe the men led awaye, whom I haue sent out of thys place in to the lande of the Caldees, for their profyte:

² after the tyme that kynge Iechoniah, and his Quene, hys chamberlaynes the princes of Iuda & Ierusalem the worckemaysters of Ierusalem were departed thyther.

¹⁰ But Nabuzaradan the chefe captayne, let the rascal people (and those that had nothinge) dwel still in the lande of Iuda, and gaue them vineyardes and corne feldes at the same tym

⁷ Now when the Captaynes of the hoste of Iuda (which with their felowes were scatred abroad on euery side in the lande) vnderstode that the king of Babilon had made Godoliah the sonne of Ahicam gouernoure in the land, & that man, wyfe & childe, yea & the pore men in the lande (that were not led captyue to Babilon) should be vnder his iurisdiccion.

¹⁶ But the poore people of the countre, dyd Nabuzaradan the chefe Captayne leaue in the lande, to occupye the vyneyardes & feldes.

²⁸ Thys is the summe of the people, whom Nabuchodonosor ledde awaye captyue. In the seuenth yeare of hys reygne, he caried awaye of the Iewes, thre thousand and thre and twenty.

¹ It chaunsed in the .xxx. yeare the fifth daye of the .iiij. Moneth, that I was amonge the presoners by the ryuer of Cobar: where the heauens opened, and I sawe a vysyon of God. ² Now the fyfth daye of the moneth made out the fyfth yeare of Kyng Ioacins captiuytye.

¹⁴ that the land myght be holden in subieccyon, and not to rebelle, but kepe the couenaunt, and fulfyll it.
