¹⁶ And the bottome of the sea appeared, and the foundacyons of the worlde were sene, by the reason of the rebukinge of the Lord, and thorow the blasting of the breath of his nostrelles.

²¹ When now Moses stretched forth hys hande ouer the sea, the Lorde caryed awaye the sea wt a stronge east wynde that blewe all nyghte, & made the sea drye land and the water deuyded it selfe. ²² And the chyldren of Israel went in thorow the myddest of the sea vpon the drye ground. And the water was a walle vnto them, both on their ryghthand & on their lefte hande. ²³ And the Egiptians folowed and went in after them to the myddest of the sea, with all Pharaos horsses, & hys charettes & his horssemen. ²⁴ And in the mornynge watch, the Lorde loked vnto the hoste of the Egyptians out of the fiery and clowdy pyller, and troubled their hoste ²⁵ & smote of their charett wheles and cast them doune to the grounde. Than sayde the Egypcians: Let vs fle from Israel, for the Lord fyghteth for them agaynst vs. ²⁶ Than sayd the Lord vnto Moses: stretch out thyne hande ouer the sea, that the water may come agayn vpon the Egypcians vpon their charettes and horssemen. ²⁷ Than stretched forth Moses hys hande ouer the sea, & it came agayne to hys course early in the mornyng, & the Egypcians fledd agaynste it. Thus the Lorde ouerthrewe the Egypcians in the myddest of the sea,

⁸ Wyth the breth of thyne anger the water gathered to gether and the floddes stode styl as a rocke, and the depe water congeled to gether in the myddest of the sea. ⁹ The enemye sayd: I wyl folowe and ouertake them, & wyll deuyde the spoyle: I wyll satysfye my lust vpon them: I wyll drawe my swerde, & myne hande shal destroy them. ¹⁰ Thou bluest with thy breth & the sea couered them, & they sancke as leed in the mighty waters.

⁹ Smoke went vp out of his nostrelles, and consuminge fyre out of hys mouth, that coles were kendled of him.

¹¹ saying: Hytherto shalt thou come, but no forther, & here shalte thou laye doune thy proude & hye waues.

¹⁵ The sprynges of waters were sene, and the foundacyons of the rounde worlde were discouered at thy chidynge (O Lorde) at the blastynge and breth of thy displeasures. ¹⁶ He sente doune from the heygth to fetch me, and toke me out of greate waters. ¹⁷ He delyuered me fro my stronge enemies & fro my foes whych were to myghtye for me

¹ An instruccion of Asaph. O God, wherfore doest thou cast vs so cleane away? why is thy wrath so hoote agaynste the shepe of thy pasture?

⁹ He rebuked the read sea, and it was dryed vp: so he led them thorowe the depe as in a wyldernes.

³ The sea saw that & fled, Iordan turned backe. ⁴ The mountaynes skipped like rammes, and the lytle hylles like yong shepe. ⁵ What ayled the, O thou sea, that thou fleddest so thou Iordan, that thou turnedest backe? ⁶ Ye mountaynes that ye skypped lyke rammes: and ye litle hilles, like yong shepe? ⁷ The earth trembled at the presence of the Lorde, at the presence of the God of Iacob.

⁴ When he reproueth the sea, he drieth it vp, and turneth all the floudes to drye lande. Basan is desolate, Charmel & the pleasure of Lybanus wasteth awaye.

⁸ Waste thou not angrye, O Lorde, in the waters? was not thy wrathe in the floodes, and thy displeasure in the sea? yes when thou sattest vpon thyne horse, & when thy charettes had the vyctory. ⁹ Thou sheuedst thy bowe openly, lyke as thou haddest promised with an othe vnto the trybes. Selah. Thou diddest deuyde the waters of the earth. ¹⁰ When the mountaynes sawe the, they were afrayed, the water streame wente awaye: the depe made a noyse at the lyftyng vp of thyne hande.

²⁶ And he sayed vnto them: why are ye fearfull, O ye of lytle fayth? Then he arose, and rebuked the wyndes and the sea, and there folowed a great calme. ²⁷ And the men maruayled and sayed: what man is this, that both wyndes and sea obey hym?
