³⁰ Beware that thou be not taken in a snare after them, after that they be destroyed before the, & that thou aske not after theyr Gods sayinge: how dyd these nations serue theyr Goddes. that I maye do so lykewyse:

³¹ And I wil make thy costes from the red sea vnto the sea of the Philistines and from the deserte vnto the ryuer. I wil deliuer the inhabiters of the lande into thyne hande, & thou shalt dryue them out before the. ³² And thou shalte make none appoyntment with them nor with their goddes. ³³ Neither shall they dwel in thy lande, lest they make the sinne agaynste me: for if thou serue their goddes it will surely be thy decaye.

³ Wherfore after the doynges of the lande of Egypte wherin ye dwelt, se that ye doo not: nether after the doynges of the lande of Canaan, whether I wyl brynge you, nether walke ye in their ordinaunces

⁵² se that ye dryue out all the inhabiters of the lande before you, and destroye their chappelles and all their Images of Metall, and plucke downe all their alters buylte on hylles:

¹⁶ Thou shalt brynge to naught all nacions which the Lord thy God deliuereth the, thine eye shal haue no pyty vpon them neither shalt thou serue theyr Goddes, for that shall be thy decaye.

² but ye shulde haue made no couenaunt with the enhabytours of thys lande, ye shuld haue broken doune theyr aultares: But ye haue not obeyed my voyce, why haue ye thys done? ³ wherfore I haue lykewyse determyned that I wyll not cast them out before you: but they shalbe in the sydes of you, and theyr Goddes shalbe snares vnto you.

¹⁵ And they refused his ordinaunce & his appoyntemente that he had made wyth theyr fathers, and the wytnesse which he had witnessed to them, and folowed vanitie and became vayne, lyke to the hethen that were rounde aboute them, of whiche the Lorde had charged them, that they shuld not do lyke them.

³⁴ Nether destroied they the Heathen, as the Lorde commaunded them. ³⁵ But were mingled among the Heathen, and lerned their workes. ³⁶ In so much that they worshipped their images, which turned to their owne decay. ³⁷ Yea they offred their sons and their daughters vnto deuels. ³⁸ And shed the innocent bloud of their sonnes and of their daughters, whom they offered vnto the ymages of Canaan, so that the land was defiled with bloud.

² Thus sayth the Lorde: Ye shall not learne after the maner of the Heathen, & ye shall not be afrayed for the tokens of heauen: for the Heathen are afrayed of suche:

²⁸ For after I had brought them in to the lande, that I promysed to geue them, when they sawe euery hye hyll and the thicke trees: they made their offerynges, and prouoked me with their oblacyons, makinge swete sauoures there, and poured oute their drynckeofferynges.

³² & as for the thinge, that ye go aboute, it shall not come to passe, where as ye saye: we wil be as the heathen, & do as other people in the lande, wood and stone wyl we worshippe.

² And fashyon not youre selues lyke vnto thys worlde. But be ye chaunged in youre shape, by the renuynge of youre wyttes, that ye may fele what thynge that good, that acceptable, and perfect wyll of God is.

¹⁷ Thys I saye therfore and testifye in the Lorde, that ye henceforth walke not as other Gentyles walke, in vanitie of theyr mynde,

³ For it is sufficient for vs, that we haue spent the time that is past of the lyfe, after the wil of the Gentiles, walking in wantonnes, lustes, dronckennes, in eatinge, drinkinge & in abominable Idolatrie. ⁴ And it semeth to them a straunge thynge, that ye runne not also with them vnto the same excesse of riote, and therfore speake they euyl of you,
