⁹ The whole lande also with the feldes and all that is therin, is in subiection & bondage vnto the kyng.

²⁹ And God sayde: see, I haue geuen you al herbes that sowe seed, whyche are on all the erth, & all maner trees that haue frute in them and sowe seed: to be meate for you ³⁰ and for al beastes of the erth, and vnto all foules of the ayre, and vnto all that crepeth on the erth, where in is lyfe, that they maye haue all maner herbes and grasse for to eate, and euen so it was.

¹⁷ And vnto Adam he sayd: For as moch as thou hast obeyed the voyce of thy wyfe, and hast eaten of the tree of which I commaunded the, sayinge: Se thou eate not therof: curssed be the erth for thy sake. In sorow shalt thou eate therof all dayes of thy lyfe: ¹⁸ And it shall beare thornes & thystels vnto the. And thou shalt eate the herbes of the feld. ¹⁹ In the swete of thy face shalt thou eate brede, vntyll thou returne vnto the erth whence thou wast taken: for erth thou art, & vnto erth shalt thou returne.

¹² & wil make him captaines of them ouer thousandes & ouer fyfties, & wil set them to eare hys grounde, & to gather in hys heruest, & to make instrumentes of warre & apparel for hys charettes. ¹³ And he wyll take your doughters & make them the dressers of his ointmentes, & his cookes & bakers. ¹⁴ And he shall take the best of youre feldes, & of youre vyneyardes & of your olyue trees, & geue them to hys seruauntes. ¹⁵ And he shall take the tenth of your seede & of your vines, & geue it to his lordes, & to his seruauntes. ¹⁶ And he shall take the best of your menseruauntes and maydeseruauntes & youngmen, and of your asses, and do his worke with them. ¹⁷ And he shall take the tenthe of youre shepe, & ye shalbe his seruauntes.

⁷ And Salomon had twelue generall receyuers ouer al Israel which sustayned the king & hys housholde: eche man hys moneth in a yeare. ⁸ Whose names are these: the sonne of hur in mount Ephraim: ⁹ the sonne of Dekar in Makez, in Salem in Bethsames, in Elon & in Bethhanan: ¹⁰ the sonne of Hesed in Aruboth & to him pertayned Socoh and all the land of Hepher: ¹¹ the sonne of Abinadab, which had al the regyons of Dor, and Tapheth the doughter of Salomon was hys wyfe: ¹² Baanah the sonne of Ahilud had Thanach Magedo and all Bethsan which is by Zarhanah benethe Iezrahel, and from Bethsan to Abel Mehulah & vnto beyounde Iecmaam, ¹³ the sonne of Gaber had Ramoth Galaad, and hys were the tounes of Iair the sonne of Manasse which lye in Galaad, and hys was the coastes of Argob in Basan, threskore greate cytyes wyth walles and Barres of Brasse. ¹⁴ Ahinadab the sonne of Ado had Mahanaim: ¹⁵ Ahimaaz; had Nephtalim, & he had taken Basemath the doughter of Salomon to wife. ¹⁶ Baanah the sonne of Hasai had Aser & Aloth: ¹⁷ Iehosaphat the sonne of Pharuah had Isachar. ¹⁸ Semei the sonne of Elah had Beniamin: ¹⁹ Gaber the sonne of Vry had the contreye of Galaad and the lande of Sehon kynge of the Amorytes & of Og kyng of Basan, and was alone receyuer in the lande. ²⁰ And Iuda & Israel were manye euen as the sande of the sea in nombre, eatyng, drynckyng, & makynge merye. ²¹ And Salomon raygned ouer al kyngdomes from the ryuer thorowout al the land of the Phylistines vnto the borders of Egipt and they brought presentes & serued Salomon all dayes of hys lyfe. ²² And Salomons fode was in one day thyrtye quarters of manchet floure and thre skore quarters of mele: ²³ ten stalled oxen, & twentye out of the pastures & an hundred shepe and gootes, besydes, hertes, buckes and buballes & fat pultrye.

²⁶ And ouer the worckemen in the feldes that tylled the ground was Ezri the sonne of Chelub. ²⁷ And the ouersyght of the vyneyardes had Semeiah the Ramathite. Ouer the wynecellers & treasure of wyne was Sabdi the Saphonite. ²⁸ And ouer the olyuetrees & mulberytrees that were in the valeys was Baal Hanan the Gadarite. And ouer the treasure of oyle was Ioas. ²⁹ And ouer the oxen that fed in Saron was Setari the Saronite. And ouer the oxen in the valeys was Saphat the sonne of Adlai. ³⁰ And ouer the camels Vbil the Ismaelite. And ouer the Asses was Iohadiah the Merothite. ³¹ And ouer the shepe was Iazis the Hagarite. All these were the rulers of the substaunce of kyng Dauid.

¹⁴ Thou bringest forth grasse for the cattell, and grene herbes for the seruice of men. Thou bringest fode out of the earth: ¹⁵ wyne to make glad the herte of man, oyle to make hym a chearfull countenaunce and bread to strength mans herte.

¹⁶ Al the whole heauens are the Lordes, but the earth hath he geuen vnto the chyldren of men.

²³ Ther is plentuousnesse of fode in the feldes of the pore, and shalbe increased out of measure.

²³ Se that thou know the number of thy catell thy selfe, and loke wel to thy flockes. ²⁴ For riches abyde not alway, & the crowne endureth not for euer. ²⁵ The hey groweth, the grasse commeth vp, & herbes are gathered in the mountaynes. ²⁶ The lambes shall clothe the, and for the gotes ²⁷ thou shalt haue goates mylcke ynough to fede the, to vpholde thy housholde, and to susteyne thy maydens.

¹⁹ He that tylleth his lande, shall haue plenteousnesse of bread: but he that foloweth ydilnesse, shall haue pouerte ynough.

¹⁰ Beholde, I dwell at Mazphah to be an officer in the Caldees behalfe, & to satisfye such as come to vs. Therfore gather you wine, corne and oyle, & kepe them in youre ware houses, & dwell in youre cities that ye haue in kepynge. ¹¹ Yea, al the Iewes also that dwelt in Moab vnder the Ammonites, in Idumea, and in all the countreyes, when they hearde, that the Kynge of Babilon had made Godoliah the sonne of Ahicam the sonne of Saphan, gouernoure vpon them that were left in Iuda. ¹² All the Iewes (I say) returned out of al places where they fled vnto: and came into the lande of Iuda to Godoliah vnto Mazphah, and gathered wine & other frutes, and that very much.
