⁸ The ende of a thyng is better then the begynnynge. The pacient of spirite is better then the hye mynded.

⁵ They that sowe in teares, shall reape in ioye. ⁶ He that now goeth in hys waye wepyng and beareth forthe good sede, shall come agayne with ioye, & bryng hys sheaues wyth hym.

¹⁰ Among the proud ther is euer strife, but amonge those that do all thynges wyth aduysemente, ther is wysdome.

²⁹ Pacyence is a token of wisdom, but wrath & hasty displasure is a token of folyshnesse.

¹⁸ An angry man stereth vp strife, but he that is pacient stilleth discord.

³² A pacyente man is better then one stronge: and he that can rule him selfe, is more worth then he that winneth a city.

²⁵ He that is of a proud stomacke, stereth vp strife but he that putteth hys truste in the Lorde, shalbe wel fedde.

²⁴ Therfore thus sayth the Lorde God of Hostes: Thou my people thrt dwellest in Sion, be not afrayed for the king of the Assirians: He shall wagge his staffe at the, yea and beate the with the road, as the Egypcians did some tyme. ²⁵ But soone after, shal my wrathe and mine indignacion be fulfilled agaynst their blasphemies.

²⁸ He shall come to Aiath, & go thorow towarde Migron. But at Machmas shall he muster his hoste, ²⁹ and go ouer the foorde. Gabaah shalbe their restinge place, Rhamah shalbe afrayed, Gabaah Saul shall fle awaye. ³⁰ The voyce of the noyse of thy horses (O doughter Gallim) shalbe hearde vnto Lais and to Anathoth, which also shalbe in trouble. ³¹ Madmena shall tremble for feare, but the cytesyns of Gabin are manlye, ³² yet shall he remayne at Nob that daye. After that, shall he lyft vp his hande agaynst the mount of Sion, and against the hyll of Ierusalem. ³³ But se the lorde God of hostes shall take awaye the proude from thence with feare. He shall hew doune the proude, and fel the hye minded. ³⁴ The thornes of the wood shalbe roted out with yron, and Libanus shall haue a myghtye fall.

²⁵ But Abraham sayd vnto hym. Sonne, remembre that thou in thy lyfe tyme, receyuedest thy pleasure, and contrarywyse Lazarus payne. Nowe therfore is he conforted, and thou arte punyshed.

¹⁹ With your pacience possesse your soules.

⁷ that is to say, prayse, honoure and immortalytye, to them whyche continue in good doynge and seke eternall lyfe. ⁸ But vnto them that are rebellious and disobey the trueth, and folowe iniquitie, shall come indignacion and wrath,

²² But the frute of the spiryte, is loue, ioye peace, longe sufferynge, gentylnes, goodnes, faithfulnes,

² in all humblenes of mynde, and mekenes, and longe sufferynge, forbearinge one another thorowe loue,

³⁶ For ye haue nede of pacyence, that after ye haue done the wyll of God, ye myght receyue the promes.

⁸ Be ye also pacyent therfor, and setle your hertes, for the commynge of the Lorde draweth nye.

¹¹ Beholde we count them happye whiche endure. Ye haue hearde of the pacience of Iob, & haue knowen what ende the Lorde made. For the Lorde is verye pytyfull and mercyfull.

¹³ Wherfore gyrde vp the loynes of youre myndes, be sober, and trust perfectelye on the grace that is broughte vnto you, by the declarynge of Iesus Christe,

²⁰ For what prayse is it, yf when ye be buffeted for your faultes, ye take it pacientlye? But and yf when ye do well, ye suffre wrong and take it pacyently, then is there thanke wt God. ²¹ for here vnto verelye were ye called: for Christe also suffered for vs, leauynge vs an ensample that we shoulde folowe his steppes,

⁵ Lykewyse ye yonger submit youre selues vnto the elder. Submit youre selues euerye man, one to another, knyt youre selues together in lowlines of mynde. For God resisteth the proude & geueth grace to humble. ⁶ Submit youre selues therfore vnder the myghty hande of God, that he maye exalte you, when the tyme is come.
