⁵ for they that be lyuyng, knowe that they shall dye: but they that be dead, knowe nothinge, neyther deserne they any more. For their memoriall is forgotten,

⁸ therof, ye & that none other mans eye shall se me eny more. For yf thou fasten thyne eyes vpon me, I come to naught lyke ⁹ as a cloude is consumed & vanisshed a waye euen so he that goeth downe to hell, commeth nomore vp, ¹⁰ ner turneth agayne into hys house, nether shall hys place knowe him eny more.

²¹ Whether his chyldren come to worshippe or no, he can not tell: And yf they be men of lowe degre, he knoweth not.

²³ Sure I am, that thou wilt delyuer me vnto death: where as a lodgynge is prepared for all men lyuinge.

⁵ For in death no man remembreth the: Oh who wyll geue the thankes in the hell?

¹⁰ Doest thou shewe wonders amonge the deade? Can the Phisicions raise them vp againe that they maye prayse the? ¹¹ Maye thy louynge kyndnes be shewed in the graue or thy faythfulnesse in destruccyon: ¹² May thy wonderous workes be knowne in the darcke, or thy ryghtuousnes in the land wher al thinges are forgotten?

¹⁵ Let them alway be before the Lorde, but as for the memoryall of them selues, let it perysh from out of the earth.

¹¹ The thing that is past, is out of remembraunce: Euen so the thynges that are for to come, shal no more be thought vpon among theim that come after.

¹⁶ For the wyse are euer as lytle in remembraunce as the folish, and al the daies for to come shalbe forgotten, yea the wyse man dyeth as well as the fole.

² It is better to go into an house of mourning, then into a bancketynge house. For there is the ende of all men, and he that is lyuyng, taketh it to hert.

¹⁰ For I haue oft sene the vngodly broughte to their graues, and fallen downe from the hye & glorious place: in so muche that they were forgotten in the cytye, where they were had in so hye and greate reputacyon. This is also a vayne thynge.

¹⁴ The malycyous Tyrauntes when they dye, are nether in lyfe nor in the resurreccyon, for thou vysytest them and rootest them oute, and destroyest all the memory all of them.

¹⁶ Yet art thou oure father: For Abraham knoweth vs not, neither is Israel acquainted with vs. But thou Lorde art oure father and redemer and thy name is euerlastinge.

²⁷ And as it is appoynted vnto men that they shall ones dye, and then commeth the iudgemente,
