¹ And they toke theyr iourney from Elim, & all the hole company of the chyldren of Israel came to the wyldernesse of Sin, which lyeth betwene Elim and Sinay: the .xv. day of the .ij. moneth after that they were come out of the lande of Egypte. ² And the hole multitude of the chyldren of Israel murmured agaynst Moses & Aaron in the wyldernesse, ³ & sayd vnto them: wolde to God we had dyed by the hand of the Lorde in the lande of Egypte, when we sat by the fleshpottes, & eate bred our belyes ful, for ye haue brought vs out into this wyldernesse to kyl thys holy multitude for honger. ⁴ Than sayd the Lord vnto Moses: behold I wyl rayne bred from heauen doune to you, & let the people go out, & gather day by daye that I maye proue them whether they wyll walke in my lawe or no. ⁵ The .vi. day let them prepare that which they wyll brynge in, and let it be twyse as moche as they gather in dayly. ⁶ And Moses & Aaron sayd vnto al the chyldren of Israel: at euen ye shal know that it is the Lorde, whych broughte you oute of the lande of Egypte, ⁷ and in the mornyng ye shal se the glorye of the Lorde: because he hath hearde youre grudgynges agaynst the Lorde: for what are we that ye shuld murmure agaynst vs. ⁸ And moreouer spake Moses. At euen the Lord wil geue you flesh to eate, and in the mornynge bread ynough, because the Lord hath hearde youre murmure which ye murmur against him: for what are we? your murmuryng is not agaynst vs, but agaynst the Lorde. ⁹ And Moses spake vnto Aaron: Saye vnto al the company of the children of Israel, come forth before the Lord: for he hath hearde your grudgynges. ¹⁰ And as Aaron spake vnto the hole multitude of the chyldren of Israel, they loked toward the wyldernesse: & behold, the glorye of the Lord apeared in a clowde. ¹¹ And the Lorde spake vnto Moses saying: ¹² I haue heard the murmuring of the chyldren of Israel, tel them therfore & say that at euen they shall eate flesh, & in the mornyng they shall be fylled wyth bred, & ye shall knowe that I am the Lorde youre God. ¹³ And at euen the quayles came and couered the grounde where they laye. And in the mornyng the dewe lay round about the hoste. ¹⁴ And when the dewe was fallen: behold it laye vpon the grounde in the wyldernesse, small and round and thynne as the hore frost on the grounde. ¹⁵ When the children of Israel sawe it they sayde one to another: what is this? For they wyst not what it was. And Moses sayd: this is the bread which the Lord hath geuen you to eate. ¹⁶ Thys is the thyng whych the Lord hath commaunded, that ye gather euery man ynough for hym to eate: a gomer full for a man accordynge to the uombre of you, and gather euery man for them whyche are in hys tente. ¹⁷ And the children of Israel dyd euen so, and gathered some more some lesse, ¹⁸ & dyd mete it with a gomer. And vnto him that had gathered moche remayned no thynge ouer, & vnto hym that had gathered lytle was ther no lacke: but euery man had gathered sufficient for his eating. ¹⁹ And Moses sayde vnto them: Se that no man let oughte remayne of it tyl the mornyng. ²⁰ Not withstandyng they harkened not vnto Moses: but some of them lefte of it vntyl the mornyng, & it waxte ful of wormes & stancke, & Moses was angry with them. ²¹ And they gathered it al morninges: euery man as moche as suffysed for his eating, for as soone as the hete of the sonne came it moulte. ²² And the .vi. daye they gathered twise so moch bred .ij. gomers for one man: & the ruelars of the multitude came & tolde Moses. ²³ And he sayde vnto them: this is that whych the Lorde hath sayde: to morowe is the Saboth of the holy rest of the Lord: bake that which ye wyl bake & sethe that ye wyll sethe, & that whych remayneth laye vp for you, & kepe it tyl the mornynge. ²⁴ And they layde it vp tyll the mornyng as Moses bade, and it stancke not, nether was there any wormes therin. ²⁵ And Moses sayd: that eate thys daye: for to day it is the Lordes Saboth: to day ye shall fynde none in the feld. ²⁶ Sixe dayes ye shal gather it, for the .vij. is the Saboth: there shalbe none therin. ²⁷ Notwithstanding there went out of the people in the seuenth day for to gather: but they founde none. ²⁸ Then the Lorde said vnto Moses: how long shall it be yer ye wyl kepe my commaundementes & lawes? ²⁹ Se because the Lord hath geuen you a Saboth, therfore he geueth you the syxte daye bred for twoo dayes. Byde therfore euery man at home, & let no man go out of hys place the seuenth day. ³⁰ And the people rested the seuenth daye. ³¹ And the housse of Israel called it Man. And it was lyke vnto Coriander seede, & whyte, & the taste of it was lyke vnto wafers made wyth hony. ³² And Moses sayde: thys is that which the Lord commaundeth: fyll a Gomor of it, that it may be kept for youre chyldren after you: that they may se the bred wherwyth he fedd you in wildernesse, when he had brought you out of the land of Egypt. ³³ And Moses spake vnto Aaron: take a cruse & put a Gomer full of Man therin, and laye it vp before the Lorde to be kept for youre chyldren after you, ³⁴ as the Lorde commaunded Moses. And Aaron layde it vp before the testymonye there to be kept. ³⁵ And the chyldren of Israell ate man .xl. yere vntyll they came vnto a lande inhabited. And so they ate Man, euen vntyl they came vnto the borders of the lande of Canaan. ³⁶ And a Gomor is the tenth parte of an Epha.

²⁷ And they came to Elim where were .xij. welles of water & .lxx. date trees & they pytched there by the water.

¹ And al the company of the children of Israel went on their iourneys from the wildernesse of Sin at the commaundement of the Lorde, & pytched in Raphidim: where was no water for the people to dryncke.

¹⁰ And they remoued from Elim & laye fast by the red sea. ¹¹ And they remoued from the red sea and laye in the wyldernesse of Sin. ¹² And they toke their iourney out of the wyldernesse of Sin, and set vp their tentes in Daphka.

¹⁵ and poure my wrothful indignacion vpon Sin, whiche is the strengthe of Egypte. All the substaunce of Alexandria will I destroye, ¹⁶ and kyndle a fyre in Egypte. Sin shalbe in greate heauynesse, Alexandria shalbe roted oute, and Noph shall haue daylye sorowe.

⁴ But before they went to rest, the men of the cyte of Sodome compassed the house rounde about both olde and yonge, al the people from all quarters.

¹¹ Than sayde they vnto Moses? were there no graues for vs in Egypte, but thou muste brynge vs awaye for to dye in the wyldernesse? wherfore hast thou serued vs thus, for to carye vs out of Egypte?

²⁴ Then the people murmured agaynst Moses, sayinge: What shall we dryncke?

⁷ Oure fathers regarded not thy wonders in Egypte, they kepte not thy great goodnes in remembraunce: but were dysobedyent at the sea, euen at the reed sea.

¹³ But within a whyle they forgat his workes, and wold not abyde his councel.

²⁵ But murmured in their tentes, and herkened not vnto the voyce of the Lord.

¹⁰ Neyther murmure ye as some of them murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

²³ And she bare yet an other sonne, whom he called Elieser, sayinge: the God of my father is myne helper, and hath ryd me out of the handes of Pharao. And it chaunced in processe of tyme, that the kynge of Egypt dyed, and the chyldren of Israel syghed by the reason of labour and cried.

²¹ and sayd vnto them. The Lorde loke vnto you and iudge, for ye haue made the fauour of vs stynke in the syght of Pharao, and of his seruauntes, and haue put a swerd into their handes to slea vs.

³ There the people thyrsted for water, and murmured agaynst Moses & sayde: wherfore hast thou brought vs out of Egypte, to kyll vs and oure chyldren & oure catel with thyrste?

⁴ And the rascall people that was amonge them fell a lustynge. And the chyldren of Israel also went to and wepte and sayde: who shal geue vs flesh to eate? ⁵ we remembre the fysh whych we should eate in Egypt for noughte and of the Cucumbers and melouns, lekes, onyouns and garleke.

¹⁵ Wherfore yf thou deale thus with me, kyl me, I pray the, If I haue found fauoure in thy syght and let me not se my wrechednesse.

² and all the chyldren of Israell murmured agaynst Moses and Aaron. And the whole congregacion sayde vnto them: wolde God that we had dyed in the land of Egypt, eyther we wold that we had dyed in thys wyldernesse.

¹³ Semeth it a smale thynge vnto the, that thou hast brought vs out of a lande that floweth wyth mylke and hony, to kyl vs in the wyldernes. But that thou shouldest raygne ouer vs also?

⁴¹ And on the morrowe all the multitude of the chyldren of Israell murmured agaynste Moses and Aaron sayinge: ye haue kylled the people of the Lorde.

³ And the people chode wt Moses & spake saying: wolde God that we had perished when our brethren perished before the Lord. ⁴ Whi haue ye brought the congregation of the Lord vnto this wildernes that both we & our cattel should dye here? ⁵ Wherfore brought ye vs out of Egipt to bring vs into this vngratious place, whiche is no place of seed nor of figes nor vines nor of pomgranates, neyther is there anye water to drynke.

³ He humbled the and made the hongry and fedde the with Manna, whych neyther thou nor thy father knew of to make the know that a man must not lyue by breade onely: but by all that proceadeth out of the mouth of the Lord must a man liue.

⁶⁷ In the mornyng thou shalt saye, wold God it were nyght. And at nyght thou shalt saye, wolde God it were mornynge: for feare of thyne herte which thou shalt feare, and for the syght of thyne eyes which thou shalt se.

⁷ And Iosua sayde, Ah, Lorde Iehouah, wherfore haste thou brought this people ouer Iordan to delyuer vs into the handes of the Amorytes to destroye vs: wolde to God we had aduentured & dwelt on the other side Iordan.

³³ And the kynge was moued and went vp to a chambre ouer the gate and wept. And as he went, thus he sayde: my sonne Absalom my sonne, my sonne, my sonne Absalom, woulde to God I had dyed for thy Absalom, my sonne, my sonne.

¹ After thys opened Iob hys mouth, and, cursed his day

¹⁰ because it shut not vp the wombe that bare me, ner hyd these sorowes from myne eyes.

²⁰ Wherfore is the lyght geuen to hym that is in miserye? and lyfe vnto them, that haue heuy hertes?

⁶ They thought not in their hertes: Where haue we left the Lorde, that broughte vs oute of the lande of Egipte, that led vs thorowe the wildernesse, thorow a desert and roughe lande, thorow a drye and deadly land yea a lande that no man had gone thorowe, and wherin noman had dwelt.

¹⁴ Cursed be the daye, wher in I was borne: vnhappye be the daye, wherin my mother brought me forth. ¹⁵ Cursed be the man, that brought my father the tydinges, to make hym glad, saying: thou hast gotten a sonne. ¹⁶ Lett it happen vnto that man, as to the cyties whiche the Lorde turned vp syde downe (when he had hearde longe the wicked rumoure of them) ¹⁷ because he slewe me not, as sone as I came out of my mothers wombe, & because my mother was not my graue her selfe, that the byrth mighte not haue come out, but remayned styl in her. ¹⁸ Wherfore came I forth of my mother wombe? To haue experience of all laboure & sorow? & to leade my lyfe wyth shame?

⁹ Teth. They that be slayne with the swearde, are happier then soch as dye of honger, and perishe awaye famyshyng for the fruites of the felde.

⁸ And when the Sunne was vp God prepared a feruent east wynde: and the Sunne bett ouer the head of Ionas, that he faynted agayne, and wisshed vnto hys soule, that he myght dye, and sayde: It is better for me to dye, then to lyue. ⁹ And God sayde vnto Ionas: Art thou so angrie for the wylde vyne? And he sayde: yee very angrie am I euen vnto the death.

²⁹ And Paul sayde: I would to God that not onlye thou: but also all that heare me to daye, were not some what onelye but altogether suche as I am, excepte these bondes.

⁸ Now ye are ful: now ye are made rych: ye reigne as kinges without vs: and I would to God ye dyd reygne that we might reygne wyth you.

¹ Wolde to God ye coulde suffre me a lytell in my folyshenes: yea, and I praye you, forbeare me.

²⁵ And Moses cried vnto the Lorde, and he shewed hym a tree: and he cast it in to the waters, and they waxed swete. There he made them an ordinaunce & a law & there he tempted them,

² And thinke on all the waye whych the lord thy God ledde the this .xl. yere in the wildernesse, for to humble the and to proue the, to wete what was in in thyne herte, whether thou wouldest kepe his commaundements or no,

¹⁶ which fed the in the wildernes with Manna whereof thy fathers knewe not for to humble the and to proue the, that he myght do the good at thy later ende.

¹⁵ But yf it seme euyll vnto you to serue the Lorde, then chose you thys day whom you wyll serue whether the Goddes whiche youre fathers serued that were on the other syde of the floude, eyther the Goddes of the Amorytes in whose lande, ye dwelte, and I & my house wyll serue the Lorde.

¹⁵ and gaueste them breade from heauen when they were hongrye, and broughtest forthe water for them out of the rock when they were thyrstye: and promysedest them, that they shulde go in, and take possessyon of the lande, ouer whiche thou haddest lyfte vp thyne hande for to geue them.

²³ for it was the kynges commaundemente concernyng them, that the syngers shulde deale faythfullye euerye daye as accordynge was.

²⁴ He rayned doune Manna vpon them for to eate, and gaue them bread from heauen. ²⁵ Then eate they aungels fode, for he sentte them meate ynough.

⁴⁰ At their desyre, ther came quailes, and he fylled them wyth the breade of heauen.

⁸ Remoue fro me vanite and lyes: geue me neither pouerte nor ryches, onely graunte me a necessary lyuyng.

¹¹ Geue vs this daye our daylye breade.

³² After all these thynges seke the gentils. For your heauenlye father knoweth that ye haue neade of all these thynges. ³³ But rather seke ye first the kyngdome of heauen and the rightuousnes therof, & all these thynge shalbe ministred vnto you.

³ Geue vs oure daylye breade euermore.

³¹ Our father did eate manna in the desert as it is written. He gaue them bread from heauen to eate. ³² Iesus sayde vnto them: verelye, verelye I say vnto you: Moyses gaue you not breade from heauen: but my father geueth you the true breade from heauen.

³ and dyd al eate of one spyrytual meate,

² Syxe dayes ye shall worke, but the seuenth day shal be vnto you the holy Sabboth of the Lordes rest: so that whosoeuer doth any worke therin, shal dye. ³ Moreouer ye shal kyndle no fyre thorowe out all your habitacions vpon the Sabboth day.

²¹ I wyll sende my blessyng vpon you in the syxte yeare, ²² and it shall brynge forthe fruite for thre yeres: & ye shall sowe the eyghte yeare and eate of olde frute vntyll the .ix. yere, and euen vntyll hyr frutes come, ye shal eat of old store.

⁷ And I wyl take you for my people and wil be to you a God. And ye shall know that I am the Lorde your God, whyche bryng you out from vnder the burdens of the Egyptians.

⁵¹ And euen the self same daye dyd the Lorde brynge the chyldren of Israel out of the lande of Egypt wyth their armyes.

¹ And whan the people saw that it was long or Moses came down out of the mountaine, they gathered theym selues together and came vnto Aaron and sayd vnto him. Vp and make vs a God to goo before vs: for of thys Moises the felow that brought vs out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become.

⁷ Then the Lorde sayde vnto Moses: goo get the downe, for thy people whyche thou broughtest oute of the lande of Egypte

¹¹ Then Moyses besoughte the Lorde hys God and sayde: O Lorde, why shoulde thy wrath waxe hote vpon thy people whiche thou hast brought out of the Lande of Egipt wt great power and with a mighty hande?

²⁸ And Moses sayed hereby ye shall knowe that the Lorde hath sente me, to do all these worckes, & that I haue not done them of mine own mynd:

³⁰ But and if the Lorde make a newe thyng, and the earth open hyr mouth & swalowe theim, and all that pertayne vnto them, so that they go downe quicke vnto hel: then ye shal vnderstand, that these men haue rayled vpon the Lord.

²⁰ Thou leddeste thy people lyke a flocke of shepe, by the hande of Moyses and Aaron.

¹¹ Yet remembred he the olde tyme of Moses and hys people: How he brought them from the water of the sea, as a sheperde doth wyth his shepe: how he had geuen his holy spyryte amonge them: ¹² howe he had led Moses by the ryght hande with hys glorious arme: how he had deuided the water before them (wherby he gat him selfe an euerlasting name)

¹⁰ and sawe the God of Israel, and vnder his feate as it were a brycke worke of Saphir & as it were the facion of heauen when it is cleare,

¹⁶ and the glory of the Lorde abode vppon mounte Sinai, and the cloude couered it .vi. dayes. And the seuenth daye he called vnto Moyses out of the cloude.

³⁴ And the cloude couered the tabernacle of wytnes, and the glorye of the Lorde fylled the habitation:

⁶ And Moses said, thys is the thyng whych the Lord commaunded that ye should do, and then the glory of the Lord shal appeare vnto you.

¹⁰ And all the whole multitude bade stone them with stones. But the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of witnesse, vnto all the chyldren of Israel.

²⁷ how longe shal thys euyll multitude murmure agaynst me?

¹¹ For which cause both thou and all thy companye are gathered togither agaynst the Lord: for what is Aaron, that ye shoul murmure agaynst him.

⁴² And when the multitude was gathered against Moses & Aaron thei loked toward the tabernacle of witnes. And beholde, the cloude had couered it and the glory of the Lord appeared.

² She shall floryshe pleasauntlye, & be ioyfull, & euer be geuyng of thanckes more and more. For the glory of Libanus, the bewty of Charmel and Saron shalbe geuen her. These shall knowe the honour of the Lorde, and the magestie of oure God.

⁵ For the glory of the Lorde shall apeare, & all flesh shall se it, for why, the mouth of the Lorde hath spoken it.

⁴ When Iesus hearde, that he sayed: this infirmitie is not vnto death, but for the laude of God that the sonne of God myght be praysed by the reason of it.

⁴⁰ Iesus sayed vnto her: Sayd I not vnto the, that yf thou dyddest beleue, thou shouldest se the glory of God.

⁹ And Moses spake vnto Aaron: Saye vnto al the company of the children of Israel, come forth before the Lord: for he hath hearde your grudgynges.

⁷ And the people came to Moses and sayed: we haue sinned, for we haue spoken agayust the Lord and againste the, make intercession to the lorde, that he take away the serpentes from vs. And Moses made intercession for the people.

⁷ And the Lord sayd vnto Samuel: heare the voyce of the people in all that they say vnto the. For they haue not cast the awaye, but me: that I shulde not raygne ouer them.

⁶ But the churle wyll be churlyshly mynded, & his hert wil worcke euil & playe the Ipocrite, & ymagyn abhominacyons against God, to make the hungry leane, & to withhold drincke from the thurstie.

²⁹ Therfore thy furiousnesse agaynst me, & thy pryde is come before me. I will put a ringe in thy nose, and a bridle byt in the chawes of the, & turne the aboute, euen the same waye thou comest.

⁴ And when Iesus sawe theyr thoughtes, he sayed: wherfor thinke ye euill in your hertes?

⁴⁰ He that receyueth you, receyueth me: & he that receyueth me, receiueth him that sent me,

¹⁶ He that heareth you, heareth me, and he that dispyseth you, despyseth me: & he that despyseth me, despiseth hym that sente me.

⁴¹ The Iewes then murmured at him, because he sayd: I am that bread which is come doune from heauen. ⁴² And they sayde: Is not this Iesus the sonne of Ioseph, whose father and mother we knowe? Howe is it then that he saieth: I came doune from heauen? ⁴³ Iesus aunswered and saide vnto them. Murmure not amonge your selues.

²⁰ Verelye verelye I saye vnto you. He that receyueth whomesoeuer I sende, receyueth me. And he that receyueth me, receyueth him that sent me.

² The powers that be are ordeyned of God. Whosoeuer therfore resisteth power, resisteth the ordinaunce of GOD. And they that resiste, shall receyue to them selfe damnacyon.

⁸ He therfore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, whiche hath sente his holye spirite amonge you.

² And the hole multitude of the chyldren of Israel murmured agaynst Moses & Aaron in the wyldernesse,

¹⁶ Then Moses said vnto Corah: Be thou and all thy company before the Lord: both thou they, and Aaron to morowe.

²¹ And the Lord went before them by daye in a pyler of a clowde to leade them the waye: and by nyghte in a pyler of fyre to geue them lyght: that they myght goo both by day and nyght. ²² And the pyler the cloude neuer departed by daye nor the pyler of fyre by nyght out of the peoples syght.

⁷ and in the mornyng ye shal se the glorye of the Lorde: because he hath hearde youre grudgynges agaynst the Lorde: for what are we that ye shuld murmure agaynst vs.

³⁴ And the cloude couered the tabernacle of wytnes, and the glorye of the Lorde fylled the habitation: ³⁵ so that Moses coulde not enter into the Tabernacle of wytnesse bycause the cloude abode therin, and the glory of the Lord filled the habitation. ³⁶ When the cloude was taken vp from of the habitation the children of Israel toke their iourneys as oft as they had iourneyed. ³⁷ And if the cloude departed not, they iourneyed not tyll it departed: ³⁸ for the cloud of the Lord was vpon the habitation by daye, and fyre by nyght: in the syght of all the house of Israell in all theyr iourneys.

¹⁹ And Corah gathered all the congregation agaynste them vnto the dore of the tabernacle of wytnesse. And the glory of the Lord appeared vnto all the congregation.

¹⁰ And when the priestes were come oute of the holye place, then a cloude fylled the house of the Lorde, ¹¹ that the priestes coulde not endure to mynyster because of the cloud, for the glorye of the Lorde had filled the house of the Lorde.

⁵ Whyle he yet speake, beholde a bryght cloude shadowed theim. And beholde there came a voyce out of the cloude, sayinge: this is my deare sonne, in whome I delite heare hym.

⁵ that they may beleue that the Lorde God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the god of Isaac, and the God of Iacob hathe appeared vnto the.

¹⁷ Wherfore thus sayth the Lorde: hereby thou shalt knowe that I am the Lord. Behold, I wyl smite with the staffe that is in myne hand vpon the waters that are in the ryuer, and they shal turne to bloude.

⁷ and in the mornyng ye shal se the glorye of the Lorde: because he hath hearde youre grudgynges agaynst the Lorde: for what are we that ye shuld murmure agaynst vs. ⁸ And moreouer spake Moses. At euen the Lord wil geue you flesh to eate, and in the mornynge bread ynough, because the Lord hath hearde youre murmure which ye murmur against him: for what are we? your murmuryng is not agaynst vs, but agaynst the Lorde.

²⁴ And there shall dwell Iuda, and all her cities, the shepeherdes and husband men.

³⁰ Thus shal they vnderstand that I the Lorde theyr God am with them, & that they (euen the house of Israel) are my people, sayeth the Lorde God.

²² that the house of Israell maye knowe, how that I am the Lorde theyr God, from that daye forth.

¹⁷ Thus shall ye knowe, that I the Lorde youre God dwell vpon my holy mounte of Syon. Then shall Ierusalem be holy, and there shall no straungers go thorowe her any more.

⁹ And the same thyrd part wil I bring thorow the fyre, & wil clense them, as the siluer is clensed: yea, & try them like as gold is tryed. Then shall they call vpon my name and I wyll heare them: I wyl saye: it is my people. And they shal say: Lorde my God.

⁹ And when the dewe fell aboute the hoste in the nyghte, the Manna fel therwith.

³¹ And there went forth a wynde from the Lord and brought quayles from the sea and let them fal about the hoste, euen a daies iourney rounde about on euery syde of the hoste and .ij. cubites hye vpon the erth. ³² And the people stode vp all that day and all that nyghte and on the morow, & gethered quayles. And he that gethered the lest, gethered .x. homers full. And they kylled them rounde aboute the hoste. ³³ And whyle the flesh was yet betwene their teeth, yeare it was chewed vp, the wrath of the Lord waxed whott vpon the people, and the Lord slewe of the people an exceading mightye slaughter.

²⁷ He made flesh to raine vpon them as thicke as dust, and fethered foules like as the sande of the sea. ²⁸ He let it fall amonge their tentes rounde about theyr habitacions.

³¹ And the housse of Israel called it Man. And it was lyke vnto Coriander seede, & whyte, & the taste of it was lyke vnto wafers made wyth hony.

⁷ The Manna was as it had bene coriander seed, and to se to lyke Bedellion. ⁸ And the people went aboute and gathered it, & grounde it in milles or bet it in morters and baked it in pannes and made kakes of it. And the tast of it was lyke vnto the tast of an oyle kake. ⁹ And when the dewe fell aboute the hoste in the nyghte, the Manna fel therwith.

²⁴ He rayned doune Manna vpon them for to eate, and gaue them bread from heauen.

¹⁶ He geueth snow lyke wolle, & scatereth the hore frost lyke ashes.

⁴ Than sayd the Lord vnto Moses: behold I wyl rayne bred from heauen doune to you, & let the people go out, & gather day by daye that I maye proue them whether they wyll walke in my lawe or no.

³³ And Moses spake vnto Aaron: take a cruse & put a Gomer full of Man therin, and laye it vp before the Lorde to be kept for youre chyldren after you,

⁵ And the people spake against God and against Moses: wherfore hast thou brought vs oute of Egypte, for to dye in the wyldernes, for here is neither bread nor water, and our soules lotheth thys light bread.

¹² And Manna ceased on the morowe, after they had eaten of the corne of the lande, neyther had the chyldren of Israel Manna any more, but dyd eate of the frutes of the lande of Canaan that yeare.

²⁰ And thou gaueste them thy good spryte to enforme them, & withheldest not thy Manna from theyr mouthe, and gauest them water when they were thyrstye.

⁵ O come on your way, eat my bred, & drinke my wyne, which I haue poured out for you.

³⁰ for all suche thynges the heathen people of the worlde seke for. Your father knoweth that ye haue nede of suche thinges.

⁴⁹ Youre fathers did eate Manna in the wyldernes and are dead.

⁵⁸ This is the bread which came from heauen: not as your fathers haue eaten Manna and are dead. He that eateth of this breade, shall lyue euer.

⁴ whiche had the golden senser, and the arcke of the testament ouerlayde roundabout wyth gold, wherein was the golden pot with manna, and Aarons rodde that sprong, and the tables of the testament.

¹⁷ Let him that hath eares, heare what the spyryte sayeth vnto the congregacyons. To hym that ouercommeth will I geue to eate Manna, that is hyd and wyll geue hym a whyte stone, and in the stone a new name wrytten, whiche no man knoweth sauynge he that receiueth it.

¹⁸ & dyd mete it with a gomer. And vnto him that had gathered moche remayned no thynge ouer, & vnto hym that had gathered lytle was ther no lacke: but euery man had gathered sufficient for his eating.

³² And Moses sayde: thys is that which the Lord commaundeth: fyll a Gomor of it, that it may be kept for youre chyldren after you: that they may se the bred wherwyth he fedd you in wildernesse, when he had brought you out of the land of Egypt. ³³ And Moses spake vnto Aaron: take a cruse & put a Gomer full of Man therin, and laye it vp before the Lorde to be kept for youre chyldren after you,

³⁶ And a Gomor is the tenth parte of an Epha.

¹⁴ but that there be equalnes nowe at thys tyme, that youre aboundaunce succoure theyr lacke: that theyr aboundaunce maye supplye youre lacke: ¹⁵ that there may be equalitie, agreyng to that which is wryten. He that gathered muche, had neuer the more aboundaunce, and he that gathered lyttell had neuerthelesse.

¹⁰ And se that ye let nothyng of it remayne vnto the mornyng: yf ought remayne burne it wyth fyre.

²³ And he sayde vnto them: this is that whych the Lorde hath sayde: to morowe is the Saboth of the holy rest of the Lord: bake that which ye wyl bake & sethe that ye wyll sethe, & that whych remayneth laye vp for you, & kepe it tyl the mornynge.

¹⁸ Thou shalt not offer the bloude of my sacrifyce wt leuended bread: nether shal the fat of my feast remayne vntyl the mornynge.

³⁴ Care not then for the morow, but let the morow care for itself: for the day present hath euer ynough of his owne trouble.

³ But Moses was a very make man aboue al the men of the erth.

¹⁵ And Moses waxed very angry and sayd vnto the Lord. Turne not vnto their offeringes, I haue not taken so much as an asse from them, neyther haue vexed any of them.

¹⁹ Se that ye gater you not treasure vpon the earth, where ruste & mothes corrupte, & wher theues breake throughe & steale.

⁵ And he loked rounde aboute on them angerly, mournynge on the blindnes of theyr hertes, & said to the man: stretch forth thyne hand. And he stretched it out. And hys hande was restored euen as whole as the other.

¹⁴ When Iesus sawe that he was displeased, and sayed to them. Suffer the chyldren to come vnto me, and forbyd them not. For of suche is the kyngdom of God.

¹⁵ Wherfore, he sayde vnto them: take hede, and beware of coueteousnes. For no mannes lyfe standeth in the abundaunce of the thynges whiche he possesseth.

³³ Sell that ye haue, and geue almes. And make you bagges whiche were not old, and treasure that faileth not in heauen, where no these cometh, neyther mothe corrupteth.

²⁶ Be angrye, but synne not, let not the sunne go doune vpon your wrath,

⁵ Let your conuersacyon be wythoute couetuousnes, and be content wyth that ye haue alreadye. For he verelye sayed: I wyll not fayle the, neyther forsake the:

² Youre ryches is corrupte youre garmentes are motheaten. ³ Your gold and your siluer are cankered, & the ruste of them shal be a witnes vnto you, and shall eate your fleshe, as it were fyre. Ye haue heaped treasure together in your laste dayes:

⁶ Go to the Emmet (thou slogard) consyder her wayes, and lerne to be wise. ⁷ She hath no guide, no teacher, no leader: ⁸ yet in the Sommer she prouideth her meate, and gathereth her foode together in the haruest, ⁹ How longe wilt thou slepe? thou slogysh man? When wylte thou aryse out of thy slepe? ¹⁰ Yea slepe on stil a litle, slomber a lytle, folde thyne handes together yet a lytle, that thou mayest slepe: ¹¹ so shall pouerte come vnto the as one that trauaileth by the way, and necessitie lyke a weaponed man.

¹⁰ Whatsoeuer thou takest in hande to do, that do wyth all thy power: for among the dead, wher as thou goest vnto, ther is nether worcke, councel, knowledge ner wysdome.

¹ Remembre thy maker in thy youth, or euer the dayes of aduersitie come, and or the yeares drawe nye, when thou shalt saye: I haue no pleasure in them

³³ But rather seke ye first the kyngdome of heauen and the rightuousnes therof, & all these thynge shalbe ministred vnto you.

³⁵ Then Iesus sayed vnto them: yet a lyttell whyle is the lyght with you. Walke, whyle ye haue lyght, lest the darcknes come on you. He that walketh in the darcke, woteth not whether he goeth.

² For he sayeth: I haue hearde the in a tyme accepted: and in the day of saluacyon. haue I succoured the. Beholde nowe is that well accepted tyme: behold now is that daye of saluacyon.

⁵ The .vi. day let them prepare that which they wyll brynge in, and let it be twyse as moche as they gather in dayly.

¹⁶ Thys is the thyng whych the Lord hath commaunded, that ye gather euery man ynough for hym to eate: a gomer full for a man accordynge to the uombre of you, and gather euery man for them whyche are in hys tente.

³¹ But he called them to hym, and then Aaron & all the chefe of the company came vnto him, & Moses talked with them.

¹² For it is a yere of Iubely and shalbe holy vnto you, howebeit, yet ye shall eate of the encrease of the fyelde.

²² and it shall brynge forthe fruite for thre yeres: & ye shall sowe the eyghte yeare and eate of olde frute vntyll the .ix. yere, and euen vntyll hyr frutes come, ye shal eat of old store.

² and in the seuenth day God ended hys worke whiche he had made, & rested in the seuenth day from al his workes which he had made. ³ And God blessed the seuenth daye, & sanctified it, for in it he rested from al his workes which he had created and made.

⁸ Remembre the Sabbath daye that thou sanctifie it. ⁹ Sixe dayes mayst thou laboure and do all that thou hast to do: ¹⁰ but the seuenth day is the Sabbath daye of the Lord thy God, in it thou shalt do no maner worke: nether thou nor thy sonne, nor thy doughter, neither thy man seruaunte nor thy mayde seruaunt, neither thy cattel neither yet the straunger that is within thy gates. ¹¹ For in sixe dayes the Lord made both heauen & earth & the sea & all that in them is and rested the seuenth day: wherfore the Lord blessed the Sabbath daye and halowed it.

¹² Sixe dayes thou shalt do thy worcke and the seuenth daye thou shalt kepe holye daye, that thyne oxe and thyne asse maye reste and the sonne of thy maide and the stranger may be refreshed.

¹⁵ Syxe dayes shall men worke, but the seuenth daye is the Sabboth of the holye reste of the Lorde: so that whosoeuer doeth anye worke in the Sabboth daye, shall dye for it:

³ Syxe dayes ye shall worke, and the seuenth is the Sabboth of reast an holy feast: so that ye maye doo no worke therin, for it is the Sabboth of the Lorde, wheresoeuer ye dwell.

²⁷ And he sayde to them: the Saboth daye was made for man, & not man for the Saboth daye. ²⁸ Wherfore the sonne of man is Lorde euen of the Saboth daye.

⁵⁶ And they returned and prepared odours and ointmentes: but rested the Saboth daye, accordinge to the commaundemente.

¹⁰ I was in the spirite on a sondaye, and hearde behynde me a great voyce, as it had bene of a trompe,

²⁰ Not withstandyng they harkened not vnto Moses: but some of them lefte of it vntyl the mornyng, & it waxte ful of wormes & stancke, & Moses was angry with them.

²⁹ Se because the Lord hath geuen you a Saboth, therfore he geueth you the syxte daye bred for twoo dayes. Byde therfore euery man at home, & let no man go out of hys place the seuenth day.

¹⁴ and declaredeste vnto them thy holye Sabboth, & commaundedst them preceptes, ordinaunces, and lawes, by Moses thy seruaunte:

¹³ Syxe dayes thou shalt laboure & do all that thou hast to do,

¹ Thus sayeth the Lorde God: the dore of the ynnermer courte towarde the East, shall be shut the .vi. worcke dayes: but in the Sabboth & in daye of the newe Moone, it shalbe opened.

¹⁴ And the ruler of the synagoge aunswered with indignacion (because that Iesus had healed on the Saboth daye) & sayed vnto the people. There are .vi. dayes, in whiche men oughte to worke, in them come and be healed, & not on the Saboth daye.

⁴ A slouthfull body will not go to plowe for colde, therefore shall he go a beggynge in Sommer, and haue nothynge.

³ Then Moses and Aaron went in vnto Pharao, and sayd vnto hym: Thus sayth the Lorde God of the Hebrues: howe longe shall it be or thou wylt submit thy selfe vnto me? Let my people go that they may serue me.

¹¹ And the Lorde sayde vnto Moses: Howe longe shall thys people rayle vpon me, & how long wyll it be yer they beleue me, for all my sygnes whiche I haue shewed amonge them?

¹² And the Lorde spake vnto Moses & Aaron: bicause ye beleued me not to sanctify me in the eyes of the chyldren of Israel, therfore ye shall not brynge thys congregation into the land which I haue geuen them.

¹⁴ Notwithstanding they wolde not heare, but hardened their neckes, lyke to the neckes of their fathers that dyd not beleue the Lorde theyr God.

¹⁰ They kept not the couenant of god, and wold not walke in his law.

²² Because they beleued not in God, & putte not their trust in hys helpe.

¹³ O that my people wolde obeye me, for if Israel wolde walke in my wayes: ¹⁴ I should soone put doune their enemyes, and turne myne hande againste their aduersaries.

⁹ And the chefe cytye of Ephraim is Samaria, but the heade of Samaria is Romelies sonne. And yf ye beleue not, there shall no promyse be kepte wyth you.

¹³ The Lord aunswered: Then heare to, ye of the house of Dauid: Is it not ynough for you, that ye be greuous vnto men, but ye muste greue my God also?

¹⁴ O Ierusalem wash thine herte from wyckednesse, that thou mayest be helped. Howe longe shal thy noysome thoughtes remayne with the.

⁶ They haue set theyr stole in the myddest of dysceyte, and for very dyssemblynge falshede they wyll not knowe me, sayeth the Lorde.

⁶ but she hath despysed my iudgmentes more then the Gentiles them selues, and broken my commaundementes more then the nacyons, that lye round aboute her: For they haue cast out myne ordinaunces, & not walcked in my lawes.

¹³ And yet the house of Israel rebelled agaynste me in the wildernesse, they woulde not walcke in my commaundementes, they haue cast awaye my lawes (whiche whoso kepeth, shoulde lyue in them) and my Sabboth dayes haue thy greatly vnhalowed. Then I made me to poure oute my indignacion vpon them, and to consume them in the wyldernesse.

¹⁶ and that because they refused my lawes, and walcked not in my commaundementes, but and vnhalowed my Sabbathes, for their herte was gone after their Idoles.

¹⁹ He aunswered him and sayd: O generation without fayth, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Brynge hym vnto me.

¹³ speake vnto the chyldren of Israell and saye: in any wyse se that ye kepe my Sabboth, for it shalbe a sygne betwene me and you in youre generacyons for to knowe, that I the Lorde do sanctyfye you.

¹³ Yea yf thou turne thy fete from the Sabboth, so that thou do not the thynge whyche pleaseth thy selfe in my holy daye: then shalte thou be called vnto the pleasaunt, holy, & gloryous Sabboth of the Lorde, where thou shalt be in honoure: so that thou do not after thyne owne ymaginacion, neyther seke thine owne wyll, nor speake thyne owne wordes. ¹⁴ Then shalt thou haue thy pleasure in the lord whyche shal carye the hye aboue the earthe, & fede the wt the heretage of Iacob thy father for the lordes owne mouthe hath so promised.

¹² I gaue them also my holy dayes, to be a token betwixte me and them, and therby know, that I am the Lorde, whiche haloweth them.

¹² Kepe the Sabboth daye that thou sanctifye it, as the Lorde thy God hathe commaunded the. ¹³ Syxe dayes thou shalt laboure & do all that thou hast to do, ¹⁴ but the seuenth dai is the Saboth of the lorde thy God: thou shalt do no maner worke, neither thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, nor thy seruaunte nor thy mayd, nor thyne oxe nor thyne asse, nor any of thy cattel, nor the straunger that is within thy cytye: that thy seruaunte and thy mayde maye reste as well as thou.

⁹ There remayneth therfore yet a rest to the people of God.

¹⁵ When the children of Israel sawe it they sayde one to another: what is this? For they wyst not what it was. And Moses sayd: this is the bread which the Lord hath geuen you to eate.

⁶ But now oure soules ar dryed a waye, for oure eyes loke on nothyng els, saue vpon Manna.

³ Lyke as the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloued among the sones. My delyte is to sit vnder hys shadowe, for hys frute is swete vnto my throte.

¹ Of Dauid. Prayse the Lorde O my soule: & all that is within me prayse hys holy name. ² Prayse the Lord O my soule & forget not all his benefites.

⁵ Remember the maruelous worckes that he hath done, his wonders and the iudgementes of his mouth.

⁴ The mercyfull and gracyous Lord hath so done his maruelous workes, that they ought to be had in remembraunce. ⁵ He geueth meat vnto them, that feare him he is euer myndfull of hys couenaunte.

¹⁹ And he toke bread, gaue thankes brake it, & gaue it to them, saiynge: This is my body which is geuen for you. This is the remembraunce of me.

¹ Wherfor we ought to geue the more heede to the thynges which we haue heard, lest we perishe.

¹⁶ And thou shalt put in the arke, the witnesse which I shal geue the.

²¹ And thou shalte putte the mercyseate aboue vpon the arke, and in the arke thou shalt put the witnesse which I wil geue the.

²¹ In the tabernacle of witnesse wythout the vayle which is before the wytnesse: & Aaron & hys sonnes shall dresse it both euen & mornyng before the Lorde: and it shalbe a dewty for euer vnto youre generacyons after you to be geuen of the chyldren of Israel.

⁶ And thou shalt put it before the vaile that hangeth before the arcke of wytnesse, and before the mercyseate that is before the witnesse, wher I will mete the.

³⁶ And beate it to powder and put it before the wytnesse in the tabernacle of wytnesse, where I wyll mete the,

¹⁸ And when he had made an ende of commenyng wyth Moses vpon the mount Sinai he gaue hym two tables of witnesse: which were of stone and written with the fynger of God.

²¹ Thys is the summe of the habitacion of wytnesse, whych was counted at the commaundement of Moses: and was the offyce of the Leuytes by the hand of Ithamar sonne to Aaron the preast.

²⁰ And he toke and put the testimony in the arcke, and set the staues to the arcke, & putte the mercy seate an hye vppon the arcke,

⁵⁰ But thou shalte appoynt the Leuites vnto the habitation of witnesse, and to all the apparell thereof and vnto all that longeth therto. For they shal bear the tabernacle and al the ordinaunce therof, and they shall minister it, and shall pytche theyr tentes rounde about it.

⁵³ But the Leuites shall pytche rounde aboute the habitation of witnes, that there fall no wrathe vpon the congregation of the children of Israel, and the Leuites shal wayte vpon the habitation of wytnesse.

¹⁰ And the Lorde sayed vnto Moses: bryng Aarons rod agayne before the wytnes to be kepte for a token vnto the chyldren of rebellyon, that theyr murmurynges may cease fro me, that they dye not.

⁵ And I departed & came downe from the hil and put the tables in the arke whych I had made: and there they remained, as the Lord commaunded me.

⁹ And there was nothynge in the arcke saue the two tables of stone whiche Moyses put there at Horeb, when the Lorde made an appoyntment wyth the chyldren of Israel after they were come oute of Egypte.

³⁸ And Aaron the Preast went vp into mount Hor at the commaundement of the Lord and dyed there, euen in the fortieth yere, after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, and in the fyrst day of the fyft moneth.

⁴⁸ And they departed from the mountaynes of Abarim, and pitched in the feldes of Moab fast by Iordan nye to Ierycho. ⁴⁹ And ther pitched vpon Iordan, from Beth Haiesmoth vnto the playne of Abelsatim in the feldes of Moab. ⁵⁰ And the Lorde spake vnto Moses in the feldes of Moab by Iordan nye vnto Ierycho, saying:

⁸ Beholde, I haue sett the land before you: goo in therfore & possess the land whiche the Lorde sware vnto youre fathers Abraham, Isaac and Iacob, to geue vnto them and their seade after them.

² And thinke on all the waye whych the lord thy God ledde the this .xl. yere in the wildernesse, for to humble the and to proue the, to wete what was in in thyne herte, whether thou wouldest kepe his commaundements or no, ³ He humbled the and made the hongry and fedde the with Manna, whych neyther thou nor thy father knew of to make the know that a man must not lyue by breade onely: but by all that proceadeth out of the mouth of the Lord must a man liue.

¹ And Moses wente from the feyldes of Moab vppe into mount Nebo which is the top of Phasgath that is ouer against Iericho. And the Lord shewed hym al the lande of Galaad euen vnto Dan, ² and al Nephthali, and the land of Ephraim, & Manasse, and al the land of Iuda: euen vnto the vtmost see, ³ and the south & the region of the plaine of Iericho the citye of palmetrees euen vnto Zoar. ⁴ And the Lorde sayed vnto him. This is the laud which I sware vnto Abraham, Isaac, and Iacob sayinge: I wyll giue it to thy sede. I haue shewed it the before thyne eyes: but thou shalt not goo ouer thyther.

³⁰ They said vnto him: what sygne shewest thou them that we may se and beleue the? What doest thou worke? ³¹ Our father did eate manna in the desert as it is written. He gaue them bread from heauen to eate. ³² Iesus sayde vnto them: verelye, verelye I say vnto you: Moyses gaue you not breade from heauen: but my father geueth you the true breade from heauen. ³³ For the bread of God is he which commeth doune from heauen, and geueth lyfe vnto the worlde. ³⁴ Then sayde they vnto hym: Lord, euermore geue vs this breade. ³⁵ And Iesus sayde vnto them: I am that breade of lyfe. He that commeth to me, shall not honger: and he that beleueth on me shall not thurste. ³⁶ But I saye vnto you: that ye haue sene me, and yet beleue not. ³⁷ All that the father geueth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me, I cast not awaye. ³⁸ For I came doune from heauen: not to do myne owne wyll, but his wyll which hath sent me. ³⁹ And this is the fathers wyll which hath sent me, that of all whiche hath geuen me, I shoulde loose nothinge: but shoulde rayse it vp agayne at the laste daye. ⁴⁰ And this is the wyll of him that sent me: that euerye man which seeth the sonne and beleueth on him haue euerlasting lyfe. And I wyll rayse him vp at the laste daye. ⁴¹ The Iewes then murmured at him, because he sayd: I am that bread which is come doune from heauen. ⁴² And they sayde: Is not this Iesus the sonne of Ioseph, whose father and mother we knowe? Howe is it then that he saieth: I came doune from heauen? ⁴³ Iesus aunswered and saide vnto them. Murmure not amonge your selues. ⁴⁴ No man can come to me: except the father which hath sent me drawe him. And I wyll rayse him vp at the laste day. ⁴⁵ It is written in the prophetes: that they shalbe al taught of God. Euery man therfore thath hath heard and hath learned of the father commeth vnto me. ⁴⁶ Not that anye man hath sene the father, saue which is of God, the same hath sene the father. ⁴⁷ Verely, verelye, I say vnto you, he that beleueth on me, hath euerlasting lyfe ⁴⁸ I am that bread of lyfe. ⁴⁹ Youre fathers did eate Manna in the wyldernes and are dead. ⁵⁰ This is that bread which commeth from heauen that he which eateth of it, shoulde also not dye. ⁵¹ I am that lyuinge bread: which came doune from heauen. Verely, verely, I say vnto you: excepte ye eate the fleshe of the sonne of man and drinke his bloude, ye shall not haue lyue in you. ⁵⁴ Whosoeuer eateth my flesh, and drinketh my bloude, hath eternal lyfe: and I wyll rayse him vp at the laste day. ⁵⁵ For my flesh is meate in dede, and my bloude is drinke in dede. ⁵⁶ He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my bloude, dwelt in me and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the liuinge father hath sent me, euen so lyue I by my father, and he that eateth me shall lyue by me. ⁵⁸ This is the bread which came from heauen: not as your fathers haue eaten Manna and are dead. He that eateth of this breade, shall lyue euer.
