¹ But now, the Lorde that made the O Iacob, & he that fashyoned the O Israel, sayeth thus: Feare not, for I wyll defende the. I haue called the by name thou art myne owne.

²⁸ And he said: thou shalt be called Iacob no more, but Israel. For thou hast wresteled with God and hast preuayled.

¹³ And thou cariedest wyth thy mercye this people which thou delyueredest, & broughtest them wyth thy strength vnto thy holy habitacion.

⁵ Now therefore if ye will heare my voyce & kepe myne apoyntement: ye shall be myne owne aboue al nacions, for all the erth is myne. ⁶ Ye shalbe vnto me a kyngdome of priestes & an holy people: these are the wordes which thou shalt say vnto the children of Israel.

¹⁷ And the Lord sayd vnto Moses: I wyll do thys also that thou hast sayde, for thou hast founde grace in my syghte, and I knowe the by name.

⁹ For the Lordes part is hys folke, & Iacob is the portion of hys enheritaunce.

³ Be ye sure, that the Lord he is God: It is he that hath made vs, and not we our selues: we are but his people, and the shepe of his pastoure.

¹⁸ This shalbe wrytten for those that come after, that the people whiche shalbe borne, maye prayse the Lorde.

⁹ There shalbe no lyon, and no rauyshynge beast shall come therin, nor be there, but men shall go there fre and safe. ¹⁰ And the redemed of the Lorde shall conuerte, and come to Syon with thankesgeuynge. Euerlastinge ioye shall they haue, pleasure and gladnesse shall be amonge them. And as for all sorowe and heuynes, it shall vanysh awaye.

¹⁴ Be not a frayde thou lytle worme Iacob, & thou despysed Israell for I will helpe the, sayeth the Lorde, and the holy one of Israel thyne auenger.

⁶ I the Lorde haue called the in rightuousnesse, & led the by the hande. Therfore wyll I also defende the, and geue the for a couenaunt of the people, and to be the lyght of the Gentyles.

⁷ Namelye, all those that be called after my name: For them haue I created, fasshyoned, and made for myne honoure.

¹⁴ Thus sayeth the Lorde the holy one of Israel youre redemer: For youre sake I wyll sende to Babylon, & brynge all the strongest of them from thence: Namely, the Chaldees that boost them of their shyppes: ¹⁵ Euen I the Lorde youre holy one whiche haue made Israel, and am youre Kynge.

²¹ This people haue I made for my self, & they shall shewe forth my prayse.

² For thus sayth the Lord that made the: fashyoned the, and helped the, euen from thy mothers wombe: Be not afrayed, O Iacob my seruaunt, thou rightuous, whom I haue chosen.

⁵ One wyll saye: I am the Lordes. Another will call vnder the name of Iacob. The thyrde shall descrybe wyth hys hande vnto the Lorde, and geue hym selfe vnder the name of Israel. ⁶ Moreouer, thus hath the Lorde spoken: euen the Kynge of Israel, and his auenger, the Lorde of Hostes: I am the fyrst & the last, and with out me is there no God.

²¹ Consydre this (O Iacob & Israel) for thou art my seruaunt. I haue made the, that thou mightest serue me. O Israel, forget me not. ²² As for thyne offences, I dryue them awaye lyke the cloudes, and thy synnes as the mist. Turne the agayne vnto me, and I wyl delyuer the. ²³ Be glad ye heauens, whom the Lorde hath made, let al that is here beneth vpon the earth, be ioyfull. Reioyse ye mountaynes & woddes, with all the trees that are in you: for the Lord shall redeme Iacob, & shewe his glory vpon Israel. ²⁴ For thus sayth the Lorde thy redemer euen he that fashioned the from thy mothers wombe: I am the Lorde, whiche do all thinges my selfe alone. I onlye haue spred oute the heauens and I only haue layde the foundacyon of the earth.

³ I shall geue the the hyd treasure & the thinge which is secretly kepte: that thou maiest knowe that I the God of Israel haue called the by thy name: ⁴ & that for Iacob my seruauntes sake and for Israel my chosen. For I called the by thy name, & ordened the or euer thou knewest me:

¹⁷ And thus sayeth the Lord God thyne auenger, the holye one of Israell: I am the Lorde thy God, whiche teache the profitable thynges, & leade the the waye, that thou shuldest go.

¹ Ye Iles, herken vnto me, & take hede ye people from farre. The Lorde hath called me from my byrth, and made mencion of my name from my mothers womb:

⁴ Feare not, for thou shalte not be confounded: Be not ashamed, for thou shalt not come to confusyon. Yea thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remembre the dyshonoure of thy wedowheade. ⁵ For he that made the, shalbe thy Lorde & husband (whose name is the Lorde of hostes) & thyne auenger shalbe euen the holy one of Israel, the Lorde of the whole worlde.

¹² For they whome the Lorde delyuereth, shalbe called the holy people: and as for the, thou shalt be named the greatly occupied, and not the forsaken.

¹⁶ Yet art thou oure father: For Abraham knoweth vs not, neither is Israel acquainted with vs. But thou Lorde art oure father and redemer and thy name is euerlastinge.

³ Euen so shall the Lorde nowe also apeare vnto me from farre, & saye: I loue the with an euerlasting loue, therfore do I sprede my mercye before the.

²⁴ Considrest thou not what this people speaketh? Two kinredes (saye they) had the Lorde chosen, and those same two hath he cast awaie: for so farre is my people come, that they haue no hope to come together any more, and to be one people again.

²⁶ then will I also cast awaye the sede of Dauid my seruaunt: so that I will take no prynce oute of his sede, to rule the posterite of Abraham, Isaac and Iacob. But yet I will turne again their captiuite, and be mercyfull vnto them.

³⁴ but theyr auenger & redemer is myghtye, whose name is the Lorde of hostes: he shal maintayne theyr cause, he shall make the lande shake, and iudge them that dwell therein, one wyth another.

⁸ Now when I wente by the, & loked vpon the: beholde, thy tyme was come, yea euen the tyme to vowe the. Then spred I my clothes ouer the, to couer thy dishonesty: yea I made an othe vnto the, and maryed my selfe wyth the (sayeth the Lorde God) and so thou becameste myne owne.

⁹ And the same thyrd part wil I bring thorow the fyre, & wil clense them, as the siluer is clensed: yea, & try them like as gold is tryed. Then shall they call vpon my name and I wyll heare them: I wyl saye: it is my people. And they shal say: Lorde my God.

¹⁷ And in the day that I will make (sayeth the Lord of hostes) they shalbe mine own possession: and I wil fauoure them, lyke as a man fauoureth his owne sonne, that doth him seruyce.

²⁰ When at the laste nether sunne nor starre in manye dayes appeared, and no smal tempest laye vpon vs, all hope that we shoulde be saued, was then taken awaye.

²⁵ Wherfore Syrs be of good cheare: for I beleue God, that so it shal be euen as it was tolde me.

¹⁰ For we are his worckmanshyp created in Christe Iesus to good workes, vnto the, whyche God ordeined vs before, that we should walke in them.

¹⁹ But the sure grounde of God remayneth, and hath thys seale: the Lord knoweth them that are his, & let euerye man that calleth on the name of Christe departe from iniquitie.

¹⁴ whiche gaue hym selfe for vs, to redeme vs from al vnryghtuousnes and to pourge vs a peculyar people vnto him selfe, feruently geuen vnto good workes.

⁸ For in rebukyng them he sayth: beholde the dayes wyll come (sayeth the Lorde) and I wyll fynyshe vpon the house of Israel, and vpon the house of Iuda, ⁹ a newe testamente: not lyke the testament that I made wyth theyr fathers at that tyme when I toke them by the handes, to leade them oute of the lande of Egypte, for they continued not in my testamente, and I regarded them not sayth the Lorde. ¹⁰ For thys is the testament that I will make wyth the house of Israel: After those dayes sayth the Lorde: I wyl put my lawes in their myndes, and in theyr hertes I wyl wryte them and I wyll be theyr God, and they shall be my people.

⁹ and they songe a new songe saiyng: thou art worthy to take the boke, and to open the seales therof: for thou wast kylled, & hast redemed vs by thy bloud out of al kynredes, and tonges, and people, and nacions
