² But youre misdedes haue separated you from youre God, and youre synnes hyde his face from you, that he heareth you not.

¹⁷ And then my wrath wyl waxe whot against them, and I wil forsake them, and wyl hide my face from them, & they shalbe consumed And when much aduersitie and tribulation is come vpon them, then they wyll saye: bycause our God is not among vs, these tribulations are come vpon vs. ¹⁸ But I wil hide my face that same time for all the euyls sake whych they shal haue wrought, in that they are turned vnto straunge Gods.

¹⁹ And when the Lord sawe it, he was angry bicause of the prouokyng of hys sonnes and daughters. ²⁰ And he sayd: I wyl hyde my face frome them & wyll se what their ende shall be. For they are a frowarde generation & chyldren in whom is no faith.

¹¹ Israel hath synned & also transgressed myne appoyntement, which I commaunded them, and haue taken of the excommunicate thinges and haue stolen and hydde them, and also put them vnto theyr owne stuffe:

²⁹ The Lorde is farre from the vngodly, but he heareth the praier of the rightuous.

¹⁵ Though ye holde oute your handes, yet turne I myne eyes from you. And though ye make manye prayers, yet heare I nothynge at all, for youre handes are full of bloude.

¹ Thus sayeth the Lorde: Where is the byll of your mothers deuorcement, that I sente vnto her or who is the vsurer, to whome I solde you? Beholde, for youre owne offences are ye solde: & because of youre transgression, is youre mother forsaken.

¹⁷ I am wroth with him for his couetousnes and lust, I smyte him, I hyd me, and am angry, when he turneth him selfe, & foloweth the by the waye of his owne herte.

⁴ Beholde, when ye fast, your lust remayneth still: for ye do no lesse vyolence to youre detters: lo, ye falle to stryfe and debate, and to smite hym wyth youre fyst that speaketh vnto you. Ye fast not (as som tyme) that your voyce might be hearde aboue.

²⁵ Neuertheles youre mysdedes haue turned these from you, and your synnes haue robbed you hereof.

²³ And the Heathen shall knowe, that where as the house of Israell were led in to captyuite: it was for their wickednes sake, because they offended me. For the whych cause I hyd my face from them, and delyuered them in to the handes of their enemyes, that they myght all be slayne with the swearde. ²⁴ Accordinge to their vnclennesse and vnfaithfull dealinges, so haue I entreated them, and hyd my face from them.

²⁹ After that, wyll I hyde my face nomore from them, but will poure out my sprete vpon the house of Israell, sayeth the Lorde God.

⁴ Now the tyme shall come, that when they call vnto the Lorde, he shall not heare them, but hyde hys face from them, because that thorowe their owne Imaginacyons they haue dealte so wyckedly.
