¹ In the same yeare the kynge Oziah dyed, I sawe the Lorde sytting vpon an high & gloryous seate, and hys trayne fylled the palace. ² From aboue flakred the Seraphins, whereof euery one had sixe wynges. With twayne eche couered his face, with twayne his fete, & with twayne dyd he flye. ³ They cryed also eche one to other on this maner: holy holy holy, is the Lord of hostes. The whole world is ful of his glory. ⁴ Yea the gestes and dorecheckes moued at their crieng, & the house was ful of smoke. ⁵ Then I sayde: O wo is me. For I was astonished: that I (which am a man of vncleane lippes and dwell amonge people that hath vncleane lyppes also) shulde se the kynge and the Lorde of hostes wyth myne eyes. ⁶ Then flue one of the Seraphins vnto me, hauynge a hote cole in hys hande, whiche he had taken from the aulter wyth the tounges, ⁷ and touched my mouthe, and sayde: lo, thys hath touched my mouth, and thyne vnryghtuousnes is taken awaye, and thy synne forgeuen. ⁸ After thys I heard the voyce of the Lord takyng aduysement on thys maner: Whome shall I sende, & who wylbe oure messenger? Then I sayde: here am I, sende me. ⁹ And so he sayde: go, and tell thys people: ye shall heare in dede, but ye shall not vnderstande, ye shall playnelye se, & not perceyue. ¹⁰ Harden the hart of thys people, stoppe theyr eares, and shutte theyr eyes, that they se not with theyr eyes, heare not wyth theyr eares, and vnderstande not wyth theyr hertes, and conuerte and be healed. ¹¹ Then spake I: Lorde, howe longe? he aunswered: vntyll the cytyes be vtterlye without inhabytours, and the houses wythoute men, tyll the lande be also desolate, & lye vnbuylded. ¹² For the Lorde shall take the men farre awaye, so that the lande shall lye waste. ¹³ Neuertheles, the tenthe part shall remayne there in, for it shall conuerte and be frutefull. And lykewyse as the Terebyntes and Oketrees brynge forthe theyr frutes, so shall the holye sede haue frute.

¹⁰ and sawe the God of Israel, and vnder his feate as it were a brycke worke of Saphir & as it were the facion of heauen when it is cleare, ¹¹ & vpon the nobles of the chyldren of Israel he set not hys hande. And when they had sene God they ate and dronke.

⁸ Vnto him I speake mouth to mouth and he seith the syght & the facion of the Lord, & not thorowe rydels. Wherfore then were ye not afraied to speake agaynst my seruaunt Moses?

¹⁰ And when the priestes were come oute of the holye place, then a cloude fylled the house of the Lorde, ¹¹ that the priestes coulde not endure to mynyster because of the cloud, for the glorye of the Lorde had filled the house of the Lorde.

¹⁹ And Micheah saide: heare therfore the worde of the Lorde. I sawe the Lorde sytte on hys seate and al the company of heauen standinge aboute him, on his right hand and on his left.

⁷ And Azariah layde hym to slepe with his fathers, and they buryed hym with his fathers in the cytie of Dauid, & Iotham his sonne raygned in his steade.

²² The rest of the actes of Oziah both fyrste and last, did Isaiah the prophete the sonne of Amos write. ²³ And when Oziah was layde to rest with his fathers, they buryed him wt his fathers in the felde of the burial of the kinges. For they sayde: he is a leper. And Ioatham his sonne raygned in his steade.

¹⁰ Be styll then and confesse that I am God I will be exalted amonge the Heythen, and I will be exalted vpon earth.

⁵ Set vp thy selfe, O God, aboue the heauens, and thy glory aboue al the eartth.

⁵ Who is lyke vnto the Lorde oure God, that hath his dwellynge so hye,

¹ The prophecye of Esai the sonne of Amos, whiche he shewed vpon Iuda & Ierusalem: In the tyme of Oziah, Ioatham, Ahaz, and Iehezekiah Kynges of Iuda.

⁴ & then shall ye saye: Let vs geue thankes vnto the Lorde, and call vpon his name, & declare his councels amonge the people, and kepe them in remembraunce for his name is excellente.

¹⁵ For thus sayeth the hye and excellent, euen he that dwelleth in euerlastingnesse, whose name is the holy one. I dwell hye aboue & in the sanctuary, and with him also, that is of a contrite & humble spirite: that I maye heale a troubled mind, & a contrite hert.

¹ Thus sayeth the Lorde: Heauen is my seat, and the earth is my fote stole Where shal nowe the house stande, that ye wyll buylde vnto me. And where shalbe the place, that I dwell in?

¹ It chaunsed in the .xxx. yeare the fifth daye of the .iiij. Moneth, that I was amonge the presoners by the ryuer of Cobar: where the heauens opened, and I sawe a vysyon of God.

²⁵ Now when they stode styll, and had letten downe their wynges, it thondred in the fyrmament that was aboue their heades. ²⁶ Aboue the firmament that was ouer their heades, there was the fashyon of a seate, as it had bene made of Saphir. Vpon the seate there sat one lyke a man. ²⁷ I behelde hym, & he was lyke a cleare lyght, as it had bene all of fyre with in from hys loynes vpwarde. And beneth when I loked vpon him vnder the loynes, me thought he was lyke a shynyng fyre, that geueth lyght on euery syde. Yee the shyne & glystre that lyghtened rounde aboute, ²⁸ was lyke a raynbowe, which in a raynye daye appeareth in the cloudes. Euen so was the symylitude, wherin the glory of the Lorde appeared. When I sawe it, I fel vpon my face, and herkened vnto the voyce of him that spake.

¹ And as I loked, beholde in the fyrmament that was aboue the Cherubyns ther apeared the similitude of a stole of Saphir vpon them

⁹ I loked tyl the seates were prepared, and tyll the olde aged sat hym doune. His clothynge was as whyte as snowe, and the hearres of hys heade, lyke the pure woll. His trone was lyke the fyrye flamme, and his wheles as the burnynge fyre.

³¹ When the sonne of man cometh in hys glorye, and all the holye aungels with him, then shall he sytte vpon the seate of his glory,

¹⁸ No man hath sene God at anye tyme. The onlye begotten sonne which is in the bosome of the father, he hath declared hym.

⁴¹ Such thynges said Esayas when he sawe hys glorye, and spake of hym.

²⁰ whiche he wrought in Christe, when he raysed hym from the dead, and set hym on hys ryght hande in heauenly thynges, ²¹ aboue all rule, power, and myghte, and domynyon, and aboue all names that are named, not in thys worlde onely, but also in the worlde to come,

¹⁶ whiche onelye hath immortalitie, and dwelleth in lyght that no man can attayne, whome neuer man sawe, neyther can se, to whom be honoure and rule euerlastynge. Amen.

²¹ To hym that ouercommeth, wyl I graunt to sit with me in my seate euen as I ouercame and haue sitten wyth my father, in his seate.

² And immediatly I was in the spyryte: and behold a seate was put in heauen, and one sate on the seate.

¹⁰ the .xxiiij. elders fel doune before him that sate on the throne, and worshypped him that lyueth for euer, and cast their crounes before the throne, saiynge:

¹ And I saw in the ryghte hand of him that sate in the throne, a boke wrytten, wythin and on the backsyde, sealed with .vij. seales.

⁷ And he came and toke the boke out of the ryght hand of him that sate vpon the seate.

¹⁶ fal on vs, and hyde vs from the presence of hym that sitteth on the seate, and from the wrath of the lambe,

¹⁵ therfore are they in the presence of the seate of God and serue hym daye and nyghte in his temple, and he that sitteth in the seate wyl dwell amonge them. ¹⁶ They shal honger no more neyther thyrste, neyther shal the sunne lyghte on them, neyther anye heate: ¹⁷ For the lambe, which is in the middes of the seate shall feede them, and shall leade them vnto fountaynes of lyuinge water, and God shall wype awaye al teares from theyr eyes.

⁸ And the temple was ful of the smoke of the glory of God and of his power, & no man was able to enter into the temple, tyll the seuen plages of the seuen angels were fulfylled.

³ And Abram fell on hys face. And God talked moreouer wyth hym sayinge:

⁶ And he sayed: I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob. And Moses hyd hys face for he was afrayed to loke vpon God.

²⁰ And the Cherubyns shal stretche theyr wynges abrode ouer an hye, & couer the mercyseate wyth theyr wynges, and theyr faces shal loke one to another: euen to the mercyseate warde, shall the faces of the cherubyns be.

⁹ And the Cherubyns spredde out theyr wynges aboue an hye, & couered the mercyseate therwyth. And their faces were one to another: euen to the mercyseate warde, were the faces of the Cherubyns.

²⁴ and euery wynge fyue cubytes longe: so that from the vttermoste parte of the other were ten cubytes.

²⁷ And the Cherubes stretched their wynges, so that the one winge of the one touched the one wall, and the one wynge of the other touched the other walle, And the other two wynges of them touched one another in the middes of the house.

⁷ For the Cherubes stretched oute theyr wynges ouer the arcke, and couered bothe it and also the staues therof a hye vpon it.

¹³ And when Eliah hearde it, he couered hys face wyth hys mantle, and went out an stode in the mouth of the caue. And se, there came a voyce vnto him, and sayde: what doest thou here Eliah?

⁶ Now vpon a tyme, when the seruauntes of God came & stode before the Lord, Sathan came also amonge them.

¹⁸ Behold there is no trust to his seruauntes, and in his aungelles hath he founde frowardnes.

¹⁵ Beholde there is no trust to hys sanctes: ye the very heauens are not cleane in hys syght.

¹⁰ He rode vpon the Cherubyns & dyd fle: he came flyenge wyth the wynges of the wynde.

⁷ God is greatly to be feared in the councel of the saintes and to be had in reuerence of al them that are aboute hym.

²⁰ O prayse the Lorde ye aungels of his, ye that be myghty in strength fulfyllynge hys commaundement that men may here the voice of hys wordes.

⁴ Thou makest thyne aungels sprites, and thy ministers flammes of fyre.

⁶ Then flue one of the Seraphins vnto me, hauynge a hote cole in hys hande, whiche he had taken from the aulter wyth the tounges,

⁴ And I loked, and beholde a stormy wynde came out of the North with a greate cloude full of fyre, which with hys glystre lyghtned all rounde aboute. And in the myddest of the fyre it was all cleare,

⁶ that euery one had foure faces and foure wynges.

⁹ yet were the wynges so, that one euer touched another. When they wente, they turned them not aboute: but echone went streyght forwarde.

¹¹ Their faces also and their wynges were spred out aboue: so that two winges of one touched euer two wynges of of another, and wyth the other they couered their body.

²⁴ And when they wente forth, I hearde the noyse of their wynges, lyke the noyse of greate waters, as it had bene the voyce of the greate God, and a russhynge together as it were of an hoost of men. And when they stode styll, they let downe their wynges.

¹⁶ Nowe when the Cherubins wente, the wheles wente wyth them, & when the Cherubyns shoke theyr wynges to lyfte them selues vpwarde, the wheles remayned not behynde, but were with them also.

²¹ Euerye one had foure faces, and euery one foure wynges, and vnder theyr wynges, as it were mens handes.

¹⁰ There drewe forthe a fyrye streame, and wente out from him. A thousande tymes a thousande serued him .x.M. tymes ten thousande stode before him. The iudgement was set, and the bokes opened.

²¹ yea, whyle I was yet speakinge in my prayer, beholde the man Gabrel (whome I had sene afore in the vision) came flying to me, and touched me about the offeringe time in the eueninge.

⁴ whiche aunswered and sayde vnto those, that stode before hym: take awaye the foule clothes from him. And vnto hym he sayd: Beholde, I haue taken away thy synne from the, and wil decke the with chaunge of rayment.

¹⁰ And wente into the tempell of the Lorde and the whole multytude of the people were without in prayer while incense was a burninge.

⁷ And of the Angels he sayth: He maketh his Angels spyrytes, and hys mynysters flammes of fyre.

⁸ And the .iiij. beastes had eche one of them .vi. wynges about him, and they were full of eies wythin. And they had no reste, daye neither nyghte sayinge. Holye, holye, holy, Lord God almyghtye, whyche was and is, and is to come.

¹¹ And all the Angelles stode in the compasse of the seate, and of the elders, and of the .iiij. beastes, and fell before the seate on theyr faces, & worshipped God

¹³ And I behelde and hearde an angell fliynge thorowe the middes of heauen, sayinge wyth a loude voyce: Wo, wo, to the inhabiters of the earth, because of the voyces to come of the trompe of the .iij. angels, whyche were yet to blowe.

⁶ And I sawe an angel flye in the middes of heauen hauinge an euerlastinge Gospell to preache vnto them that sytte and dwell on the earth, & to al nacions, kinredes, & tonges, and people,

¹¹ Who is lyke vnto the O Lorde amonge goddes: who is lyke the so gloryous in holynes, fearfull, laudable & that shewest wondres?

²⁰ And MirIam a Prophetisse the syster of Aaron toke a tymbrell in her hand, & all the woman came out after her with tymbrels in a daunse. ²¹ And MirIam sange before them: Synge ye vnto the Lord, for he is become glorious in deade: the horsse and his ryder hath he ouerthrowne in the sea.

²¹ But as trulye as I lyue, al the erth shalbe fylled wt my glorye.

¹¹ And they sange together, geuynge prayse and thankes vnto the Lorde, because he is gracyous, and because hys mercy endureth for euer vpon Israel. And all the people shouted loude in praysing the Lorde, because the foundacyon of the house of the Lorde was layd.

¹ To the chaunter, a Psalm of Dauid. The very heauens declare the glory of God, and the very firmament sheweth his handy worcke. ² One daye telleth another, and one nyght certifyeth another. ³ There is neyther speach ner language, but their voices are hard among them.

⁷ Open your gates (O ye princes) lette the euerlastynge dores be opened, that the kyng of glory may come in. ⁸ Who is this kyng of glory? It is the Lorde strong and myghtie, euen the Lorde myghty in batell. ⁹ Open youre gates (O ye princes) let the euerlastynge dores be opened, that the kyng of glory may come in. ¹⁰ Who is this king of glory? It is the Lord of Hoostes, he is the kynge of glorye. Selah.

¹¹ Set vp thy selfe, O God, aboue the heauens, and thi glory aboue al the earth.

¹⁹ And blessed be the name of his maiesty for euer, and al landes be fulfilled with his glory. Amen, Amen.

⁹ No man shall do euyl to another, no man shall destroye another, in all the hyll of my Sanctuarye. For the earth shalbe full of the knowledge of the Lorde, euen as thoughe the water of the sea floweth ouer the earth. ¹⁰ Then shal the Gentyles enquere after the rote of Iesse (whiche shalbe set vp for a token vnto the Gentyles) for hys dwellinge shalbe glorious.

¹⁶ We heare sunges sung to the prayse of the righteous, from al the endes of the worlde. Therefore I must speake: O myne vnfrutefulnesse, O my pouerte. Wo is me, all is full of synners, whiche offende of purpose and malice.

⁵ For the glory of the Lorde shall apeare, & all flesh shall se it, for why, the mouth of the Lorde hath spoken it.

¹⁴ For the earth shall be full of knowledge of the Lordes honoure, lyke as the waters that couer the sea.

⁹ And the lord him selfe shalbe king ouer al the earth. At that time shal there be one Lord onlye, & his name shalbe but one.

¹⁸ and lyghten the eyes of youre myndes that ye myght knowe what that hope is, where vnto he hath called you, and what the ryches of hys gloryous inheritaunce is vpon the saynctes,

⁸ And the .iiij. beastes had eche one of them .vi. wynges about him, and they were full of eies wythin. And they had no reste, daye neither nyghte sayinge. Holye, holye, holy, Lord God almyghtye, whyche was and is, and is to come. ⁹ And when those beastes gaue glorye and honour, and thankes to him that sate on the seate, whiche lyueth for euer and euer,

³ and they songe the songe of Moises the seruaunt of God, & they songe of the lamb, sayinge: Great & maruelous are thy workes Lorde God almighty, iuste & true are thy wayes kynge of sainctes. ⁴ Who shal not feare. O Lorde, & glorify thy name? For thou only arte holy and al Gentyls shal come and worshippe before the for thy iudgementes are made manifeste.

³⁴ And the cloude couered the tabernacle of wytnes, and the glorye of the Lorde fylled the habitation:

¹⁰ And when the priestes were come oute of the holye place, then a cloude fylled the house of the Lorde, ¹¹ that the priestes coulde not endure to mynyster because of the cloud, for the glorye of the Lorde had filled the house of the Lorde. ¹² Then spake Salomon: the Lorde sayd, that he wolde dwell in darckenesse.

¹³ And the trompette blowers & the syngers so agreed, that it semed but one voice in praysing & thankynge the Lorde. And as the voyce of the trompettes, symbales and instrumentes of melodye arose, & as they praysed the Lord, how that he was good and that hys mercye lasteth euer, the house of the Lorde was fylled with a cloude,

⁸ There wente a smoke oute of hys nostrels and a consuming fyre out of his mouth so that coales were kyndled at it.

⁵ Yea and the sounde of the Cherubyns winges was heard into the fore court lyke as it had bene the voyce of the almyghty God, when he speaketh.

¹ I sawe the Lord standynge vpon the aulter, and he sayde; smyte the dore cheke, that the postes maye shake withall. For theyr couetousnesse shal fall vpon al their heades, and their posterite shalbe slayne wyth the swerde. They shall not fle awaye, there shall not one of them escape, ner be delyuered.

¹⁹ And the temple of God was opened in heauen, and there was sene in hys temple the arcke of hys testamente, and there folowed lyghtenynges, and voyces, and thonderynge and eartquake and muche hayle

¹⁰ And Moses sayed vnto the Lorde: oh my Lorde I am not eloquent, no not in tymes past, and namely sence thou hast spoken vnto thy seruaunt: but I am slowe mouthed, and slow tonged.

¹² And Moyses spake before the Lorde saying: behold, the chyldren of Israell herken not vnto me, howe then shall Pharao heare me: seynge that I haue vncircumcised lippes.

³⁰ And Moses answered before the Lord: I am of vncircumcised lyppes, how shall Pharao then geue me audience.

²⁰ And he sayed furthermore, thou maiste not see my for there shall no man se me and lyue.

²² And when Gedeon perceyued that it was an angel, he sayd: Alas my Lorde Iehouah, that I haue sene an angell of the Lord face to face.

²² and sayd vnto hys wyfe: we shal surelye dye, because we haue sene God.

⁵ I haue geuen dyligente care vnto the, & nowe I se the with mine eyes. ⁶ Wherfor I geue myne owne selfe the blame, and take repentaunce in the duste and asshes.

¹³ Therfor thus sayth the Lord: For so much as thys people draweth nye me with theyr mouthe, and prayseth me hyghlye wyth theyr lyppes (where as theyr herte neuerthelesse is farre from me, & the feare which they owe vnto me, that turne they to mens lawes and doctrynes)

¹⁷ His eyes shall se the kynge in hys glory: and in the wyde worlde,

⁶ Then sayde I: Oh Lorde God, I am vnmete, for I am yet but younge.

³ They bende theyr tunges lyke bowes, to shute oute lyes. As for the trueth, they may nothynge awaye with all in the worlde. For they go from one wyckednes to another, & hold nothinge of me, sayeth the Lorde. ⁴ Yea one must kepe him selfe from another no man maye safely truste his owne brother: for one brother vndermyneth another, & one neyghboure begyleth another. ⁵ Yea one dyssembleth with another, & they deale wyth no trueth. They haue practysed theyr tunges to lye, and taken greate paynes to do myschefe. ⁶ They haue set theyr stole in the myddest of dysceyte, and for very dyssemblynge falshede they wyll not knowe me, sayeth the Lorde. ⁷ Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes: beholde, I wyll melte them, and trye them, for what shulde I els do to my people? ⁸ Their tunges are lyke sharpe arowes, to speake disceyte. Wyth theyr mouthe they speake peaceably to theyr neyghboure, but preuely they laye wayte for hym.

⁵⁷ Yee (sayeth the Lorde) I will make their Princes their wyse men, their chefe rulers & all their worthyes, droncken: so that they shall slepe an euerlastynge slepe, and neuer wake: Thus sayeth the Kynge, whose name is the Lorde of hostes.

⁶ Therfore (thou sonne of man) feare them not, nether be afrayed of their wordes: for they shall rebell agaynst the, and despyse the. Yee thou shalt dwell amonge scorpions: but feare not their wordes, be not abashed at their lokes, for it is a frowarde housholde. ⁷ Se that thou speake my wordes vnto them, whether they be obedyent or not, for they are obstynate. ⁸ Therfore, thou sonne of men, obey thou all thynges, that I saye vnto the, and be not thou styfnecked, lyke as they are a styfnecked housholde. Open thy mouth and eate that I geue the.

³¹ These come vnto the, after the maner of a great people: yea my people syt doune before the, and heare thy wordes, but they do not there after: for in theyr mouthes they shewe them selues, as though they were feruent, but their herte goeth after theyr owne couetous lucre.

⁶ his body was like the Chrisolite stone, his face (to loke vpon) was like lighteninge, his eyes as the flamme of fyre, his armes and fete were lyke fayre glysterynge metall, but the voyce of his wordes was like the voyce of a multitude. ⁷ I Daniel alone sawe this vision, the men that were with me, sawe it not: but a greate fearfulnesse fell vpon them, so that they fled away & hid them selues. ⁸ I was left there my selfe alone, and sawe this greate vision, so longe till there remayned no more strengthe within me: yea I lost my coloure cleane, I waited awaye, and my strength was gone.

¹⁶ When I heare thys, my bodye is vexed, my lyppes tremble at the voyce therof, my bones corruppe, I am afrayed where I stande. O that I myght rest in the day of trouble, that I myght go vp vnto oure people, whiche are alredye prepared.

¹ And he shewed me Iesua the hye priest, standynge before the angell of the Lorde, and Satan stode at hys ryghte hande to resiste hym. ² And the Lorde sayde vnto Satan: The Lorde reproue the (thou Satan) yea the Lorde that hath chosen Ierusalem, reproue the. Is not thys a brande taken out of the fyre? ³ Nowe Iesua was clothed in vnclean rayment, and stode before the aungel: ⁴ whiche aunswered and sayde vnto those, that stode before hym: take awaye the foule clothes from him. And vnto hym he sayd: Beholde, I haue taken away thy synne from the, and wil decke the with chaunge of rayment. ⁵ He sayde moreouer: set a fayre myter vpon his head. So they set a fayre myter vpon hys heade, and put on clothes vpon hym, and the aungel of the Lorde stode there. ⁶ Then the aungell of the lord testyfyed vnto Iesua, and spake, ⁷ thus sayth the Lorde of hostes: If thou wylte walke in my wayes, & kepe my watche: thou shalt rule my house, & kepe my courtes, and I wil geue the place amonge these that stande here.

³⁴ O generation of vipers, how can ye say well, when ye your selues are euil? For of the aboundaunce of the herte, the mouth speaketh. ³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of hys herte, bringeth forth good thinges. And an euill man out of his euill treasure, bringeth forth euil thinges. ³⁶ But I say vnto you, that of euery idell worde that men shall haue spoken: they shall geue a countes at the daye of iudgement. ³⁷ For thy wordes thou shalt be iustified: & by thy wordes thou shalt be condemned.

⁸ When Simon Peter sawe that, he fell doune at Iesus knees saiynge: Lorde go ⁹ from me for I am a synfull man. For he was vtterlye astonyed and all that were with hym at the draughte of fyshe, which they toke:

¹ My brethren be not euery man a mayster, remembrynge howe that we shal receyue the more damnacyon: ² for in many thinges we synne all. Yf a man synne not in worde, the same is a perfect man and able to tame al the bodye.

⁶ and the tonge is fyre, and a worlde of wickednes. So is the tong set among our members, that it defyleth the whole body and setteth a fyre all that we haue of nature, & is it selfe set a fyre euen of hell. ⁷ All the natures of beastes, and of byrdes, and of serpentes, and thynges of the sea, are meked and tamed of the nature of man. ⁸ But the tonge can no man tame. It is an vnrulye euyll ful of deadly poyson. ⁹ Therewyth blesse we God the father, and therewyth cursse wemen which are made after the similitude of God. ¹⁰ Out of one mouth proceadeth blessynge and curssynge. My brethren these thynges ought not so to be.

⁵ and from Iesus Christ, whiche is a faythfull wytnes, and fyrst begotten of the dead, and Lorde ouer the kynges of the earth. Vnto him, that loued vs and washed vs from synnes in his owne bloude, ⁶ & made vs kinges and priestes vnto God his father: be glorye and dominyon for euer more. Amen. ⁷ Behold he commeth wyth cloudes, and al eyes shal se him: and they also whiche persed hym. And all kynredes of the earth shal waile. Euen so. Amen:

¹⁶ And he had in hys ryghthande .vij. starres. And out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sweard. And hys face shone euen as the sonne in hys strength. ¹⁷ And when I sawe hym, I fell at hys fete, euen as dead. And he layde hys ryght hande vpon me, saiynge vnto me: feare not, I am the fyrste, and the laste,

¹² And then he shal take a censer ful of burnyng coles out of the alter that is before the Lord, and hys handfull of swete cens beten smal and bryng them within the vayl

² From aboue flakred the Seraphins, whereof euery one had sixe wynges. With twayne eche couered his face, with twayne his fete, & with twayne dyd he flye.

² Then sayd he that sat therin, to him that had the lynen raiment vpon him: Crepe in betwene the wheles that are vnder the Cherubins, and take thyne hande full of hoate coles oute from betwene the Cherubyns, & cast them ouer the citie. And he crept in, that I myght se.

²¹ yea, whyle I was yet speakinge in my prayer, beholde the man Gabrel (whome I had sene afore in the vision) came flying to me, and touched me about the offeringe time in the eueninge. ²² He infourmed me, and spake vnto me: O Daniel sayde he, I am now come to make the vnderstande it: ²³ For as sone as thou begannest to make thy prayer, it was so diuised, and therfore am I come to shewe the. And why? For thou arte a man greatly beloued. Wherfore, pondre the matter well, that thou mayest learne, to vnderstande the vision.

¹¹ I baptise you in water in token of repentaunce, but he that cometh after me is mightyer then I, whose shues I am not worthy to beare. He shal baptise you with the holy ghost and with fyre:

³ And there appeared vnto them clouen tounges, lyke as they had bene fyre, and it sate vpon eche of them,

¹⁴ Are they not al ministringe spirites, sent to minister for their sakes, whiche shal be heyres of saluation?

²² And also all moost all thynges, are by the lawe pourged wyth bloude, and wythout sheddynge of bloude is no remyssyon. ²³ It is then nede that the simylytudes of heauenly thinges be puryfyed wyth such thinges but the heauenly thynges them selues are puryfyed with better sacryfyces then are those. ²⁴ For Christe is not entred into the holye places that are made wyth handes, whiche are but simylytudes of true thynges: but is entred into verye heauen, for to appere nowe in the syghte of God for vs: ²⁵ not to offer hym selfe, often as the hye prieste entreth into the holye place euerye yeare wt straunge bloud ²⁶ for then must he haue often suffered sence the worlde beganne. But nowe in the ende of the worlde hath he appered ones to put synne to flyghte by the offerynge vp of hym self.

¹⁰ We haue an altar whereof they maye not eate whiche serue in the tabernacle.

³ And another angel came and stode before the aultare hauynge a golden senser, and muche of odoures was geuen vnto hym, that he shoulde offer of the prayers of al sainctes vpon the golden aultare, which was before the seate. ⁴ And the smoke of the odours, whiche came of the prayers of al sainctes ascended vp before God out of the angelles hand. ⁵ And the angell toke the senser, and fylled it wyth fyre of the aultare, and caste it into the earth, and voyces were made, and thonderinges and lighteninges, and earth quakes.

²⁵ Where as I yet am euen he onlye, that for myne owne selfes sake do awaye thyne offences, & forget thy synnes: so that I wyll neuer thyncke vpon them.

⁵ where as he (notwithstanding) shal be wounded for oure offences, & smytten for oure wickednes. For the payne of oure punyshmente shalbe sayde vpon hym, and with hys strypes shall we be healed.

¹⁰ Yet hath it pleased the Lorde to smyte him with infirmite, that when he had made hys soule an offerynge for synne, he myght se longe lasting sede. And this deuyce of the Lord shall prospere in hys hande.

⁹ And with that, the Lorde stretched oute his hande, and touched my mouthe, and sayde moreouer vnto me. Beholde I put my wordes in thy mouth,

¹⁶ Beholde, there touched my lippes one very lyke vnto a man. Then opened I my mouthe, & sayde vnto him, that stode before me: O my Lorde, my pointes are lowsed in the vision, and there is no more strength within me:

² And, lo thei brought to him a man sycke of the palsye, lyinge in his bedde. And when Iesus sawe the faith of them he said to the sick of the palsie sonne be of good chere, thy sinnes be forgeuen the.

¹³ For yf the bloude of oxen and of gotes and the ashes of an heyfer, when it was sprinkled, puryfyed the vncleane, as touchyng the puryfiynge of the fleshe: ¹⁴ Howe muche more shall the bloude of Christe (which thorow the eternall spyryte offred hym selfe without spot to God) pourge youre conscyences from dead workes, for to serue the lyuyng God?

⁷ but and yf we walke (in light) euen as he is in lighte, then haue we felowshyppe wyth hym, and the bloude of Iesus Christe his sonne clenseth vs from all sinne.

¹ My lytle chyldren, these thinges wryte I vnto you, that ye sinne not, yf anye man synne, yet we haue an aduocate with the father, Iesus Christe, whiche is rightuouse, ² and he it is that obtayned grace for our sinnes, not for oure sinnes onelye, but also for the synnes of al the worlde.

²⁶ And God sayde: let vs make man in oure similitude & after our lycknesse: that he may haue rule ouer the fysh of the sea, and ouer the foules of the ayre, & ouer catell, and ouer all the erth, and ouer all wormes that crepe on the erth.

⁸ And they herd the voyce of the Lord God as he walked in the garden in the coole of the daye. And Adam hyd hym self and his wyfe also from the face of the Lorde God, among the trees of the garden. ⁹ And the Lorde God called Adam, and sayd vnto hym: where art thou? ¹⁰ And he answered: Thy voyce I heard in the garden, but I was afrayed, because I was naked, and therfore hyd my selfe.

²² And the Lorde God sayd: Loo, Adam is become as it were one of vs, in knowledge of good and euell. But now lest he strech forth hys hande and take also of the tree of lyfe, & eate & lyue euer.

⁷ Come on, let vs descende, and myngle theyr tonge euen there, that one vnderstande not what another sayeth.

¹⁰ And Moses sayed vnto the Lorde: oh my Lorde I am not eloquent, no not in tymes past, and namely sence thou hast spoken vnto thy seruaunt: but I am slowe mouthed, and slow tonged. ¹¹ And the Lord sayed vnto hym: who hath made mans mouthe, or who hath made the dombe or the deaffe, the seynge or the blind? haue not I the Lord? ¹² Go therfore and I wilbe with thy mouth, and teach the what thou shalte saye. ¹³ But he sayed: oh my Lord, send I pray the whom thou wylt.

³³ that a nation hath heard the voice of God speaking out of fire as thou hast herde and yet lyued? ³⁴ eyther whether God assaied to go & take him a people from amonge nations, thorowe temptations and sygnes and wonders & thorow warre & wyth a myghty hand and a streatched oute arme and with myghtye terryble syghtes, accordynge vnto all that the Lord your God dyd vnto you in Egypt before your eyes. ³⁵ Vnto the it was shewed, that thou mightest know, howe that the lorde he is God & that there is none but he. ³⁶ Oute of heauen he made the hear hys voyce to nurture the, and vpon earth he shewed the his great fire, and thou heardest hys wordes out of the fyre.

²⁰ And the Lorde sayd: who shal deceiue Ahab that he maye go and be slaine at Ramoth in Galaad, and one sayde on this maner and another on that.

¹ They shal seke my, that hytherto haue not asked for me: they shall fynde me, that hitherto haue not sought me. Then shal I say immediatly to the people that neuer called vpon my name: I am here, I am here.

²⁰ And they straight waye left their nettes, and folowed hym. ²¹ And he went forth from thence, and sawe other two brethren, Iames the sonne of Zebede, and Ihon his brother, in the shippe wyth Zebede their father, mending their nets, and called them. ²² And they without tarringe left the shyp and their father and folowed hym.

⁴ & he fell to the earth, and hearde a voice saiyng to him: Saul, Saul why persecutest thou me?

²⁴ But none of these thinges moue me: neyther is my lyfe dere vnto my selfe: that I myght fulfyl my course with ioye, and the ministracyon whiche I haue receyued of the Lord Iesus, to testifye the gospell of the grace of God.

²¹ And he sayd vnto me: depart, for I wyl sende the a farre hence vnto the gentyls.

¹⁶ but ryse and stand vp on thy fete. For I haue appeared vnto the for this purpose, to make the a minister, and a wytnes both of those thinges, whiche thou hast sene, and of those thinges in the which I wil appeare ¹⁷ vnto the deliuering the from the people, and from the gentils, vnto whiche nowe I sende the,

²⁵ When they agreed not amonge them selues, they departed, after that Paule had spoken one word: Welspake the holy ghoste by Esay the prophet vnto youre fathers, saiyng: go vnto thys people, ²⁶ and saye: wyth youre eares shall ye heare, & shall not vnderstande: and wyth youre eies shal ye se and shall not perceiue. ²⁷ For the hert of this people is waxed grosse and their eares were thicke of hearinge, and theyr eyes haue they closed: lest they should se with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and vnderstande with their hertes, and should be conuerted, and I should heale them. ²⁸ Be it knowen therfore vnto you, that this saluation of God is sente to the gentyls, and they shall heare it.

⁸ Vnto me the leaste of all sainctes is this grace geuen, that I shoulde preache amonge the Gentyls the vnsearcheable ryches of Christe,

⁷ Then the Lorde sayde vnto Moses: goo get the downe, for thy people whyche thou broughtest oute of the lande of Egypte ⁸ haue marred all, they are turned at once out of the waye whihe I commaunded them: and haue made them a calfe of molten metall, & haue worshipped it and haue offred therto & saied Thys is thy God thou Israell, whyche hath brought the out of the lande of Egypte. ⁹ And the Lord sayd vnto Moyses: beholde I se this people that it is a styfe necked people, ¹⁰ & and nowe therfore suffer me that my wrath may waxe hote vpon them, and that I may consume them and then wyl I make of the a mightye people.

⁸ Wherfore go hence, and wryte them thys in theyr tables, & note it in a boke: that it may remayne by theyr posteryte, & be styll kept. ⁹ For it is an obstynate people, vnfaythful children children that will not heare the lawe of the Lord. ¹⁰ They darre saye to the Prophetes: Intromytte youre selues with nothynge, and vnto the Sothsayers: tell vs of nothynge for to come, but speake frendlye wordes vnto vs, & preache vs false thinges. ¹¹ Treade oute of the waye, go out of the path, turne the holye one of Israel from vs.

⁸ Brynge forth that people, whether they haue eyes or be blynde, deafe or haue eares.

¹⁸ Yet men nether considre ner vnderstande, because their eyes are stopped, that they can not se: and their hertes, that they cannot perceyue. ¹⁹ They pondre not in their myndes, for they haue nether knowledge ner vnderstandyng, to thyncke thus: I haue brent one pece in the fyre: I haue baked bred with the coles there of, I haue rosted flesh with all, & eaten it: shall I now of the resydue make an abhomynacyon, & fall downe before a rotten pece of wodd? ²⁰ The kepyng of dust, and folishnesse of herte hath turned them asyde: so that none of them can haue a fre conscience to thyncke maye not I erre?

¹ Then spake the Lorde vnto me, & sayde: Though Moses and Samuel stode before me, yet haue I no herte to thys people. Dryue them awaye, that they maye go out of my syght. ² And yf they saye vnto the: Whyther shall we go? Then tell them: The Lorde geueth you thys answere: Some vnto death, some to the swearde, some to honger, some in to captyuyte.

⁹ Then sayd he: cal his name Lo amy. For why? ye are not my people, therfore wyll I not be youres.

¹⁴ And in them is fulfilled the Prophesye of Esayas, whych prophesie sayth: with the eares ye shal heare, and shal not vnderstande, and with the eyes ye shal se, and shall not perceyue. ¹⁵ For this people hertes are waxed grosse, and their eares were dull of hearynge, and their eyes haue they closed, lest they should se with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and shoulde vnderstand with their hertes, & should tourne that I myght heale them.

¹² that when they se, they shall se, and not dyscerne, and when they heare, they shal heare, and not vnderstand leste at any tyme they shoulde tourne: & theyr synnes shoulde be forgeuen them,

¹⁰ And he sayed vnto you is it geuen to knowe the secretes of the kingdome of God: but to other in symylytudes, that when they se, they shoulde not vnderstande.

⁴⁰ he hath blynded theyr eyes and hardened theyr hertes, that they shoulde not se with theyr eyes, and vnderstand with theyr hertes, and shoulde be conuerted, and I shoulde heale them.

²⁶ and saye: wyth youre eares shall ye heare, & shall not vnderstande: and wyth youre eies shal ye se and shall not perceiue. ²⁷ For the hert of this people is waxed grosse and their eares were thicke of hearinge, and theyr eyes haue they closed: lest they should se with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and vnderstande with their hertes, and should be conuerted, and I should heale them.

⁸ accordynge as it is wrytten. God hath geuen them the spirite of vnquyetnes: eyes that they should not se, and eares that they shoulde not heare euen vnto thys daye.

³ But I wyl harden Pharaos hert, that I may multiply my miracles & my wunders in the land of Egypt.

²⁷ But the Lord hardened Pharaos hert, so that he wold not let them go.

¹⁰ And Moses & Aaron dyd al these wonders before Pharao. But the Lord hardened Pharaos hert, so that he woulde not let the chyldren of Israel go out of hys Land.

¹⁷ And beholde I wyl harden the hertes of the Egyptians that they maye folowe you. And I wyll gett me honoure vpon Pharao and vpon all hys hoste, vpon his charettes and vpon his horsse men.

³⁰ But Sehon the kyng of Hesbon wold not let vs passe by hym, for the Lord thy GOD had hardened hys sprite and made his herte tough because he wold delyuer him in to thy handes as it is come to passe thys day.

¹⁵ And Israel waxed fat and kycked. Thou wast fat, thycke and smothe. And he let God goo that made him & despised the rocke that saued him.

¹⁰ Which manteyne their owne welthinesse with oppression, and their mouthe speaketh proude thynges.

⁷⁰ Their herte is as fat as brawne, but my delyte is in thy law.

²² Thus the Lorde shall smyte Egipt, and heale it agayn: and so shal they turne to the Lorde, & he also shall haue mercy vpon them, and saue them.

¹⁰ For the Lorde shall geue you an harde slepynge spryte, and holde doune youre eyes: namelye youre Prophetes and heades which shuld se, them shall he couer.

¹⁷ O Lord wherfore hast thou led vs out of thy waye? wherfore hast thou hardened our hertes, that we feare the not? Be at one with vs agayne, for thy seruauntes sake that are of the generacion of thine heretage.

²¹ Heare thys (thou folyshe and vndiscrete people) ye haue eyes, but ye se not: eares haue ye, but ye heare not.

¹⁰ But vnto whome shall I speake, whome shall I warne that he maye take hede? Theyr eares are so vncircumcyced, that they maye not heare. Beholde, they take the worde of God but for a scorne, & haue no luste therto.

⁶ Not to many nacyons, which haue dyuerse speaches & harde languages, whose wordes thou vnderstandest not: Neuerthelesse: yf I sent the to those people, they wolde folowe the: ⁷ But the house of Israel wyll not folowe the, for they wyll not folowe me: yee all the house of Israell haue styf foreheades and harde hertes. ⁸ Beholde therfore, I wyll make thy face preuayle agaynst their faces, and harden thy foreheade agaynst their foreheades: ⁹ so that thy foreheade shalbe harder then an Adamaunte or flynt stone: that thou mayeste feare them the lesse, and be lesse afrayed of them, for they are a frowarde housholde. ¹⁰ He sayde moreouer vnto me: thou sonne of man, take dylygent hede wyth thyne eares, to the wordes that I speake vnto the, fasten them in thyne herte: ¹¹ and go to the presoners of thy people, speake vnto them, and saye on this maner: Thus the Lorde God hath spoken: whether ye heare, or heare not.

¹¹ Neuertheles they would not take hede, but turned their backes, & stopped their eares, that they should not heare:

¹⁵ For this people hertes are waxed grosse, and their eares were dull of hearynge, and their eyes haue they closed, lest they should se with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and shoulde vnderstand with their hertes, & should tourne that I myght heale them.

¹⁹ And this is the condempnacion, that light is come into the worlde, and the men loued darknes more then lyght, because their dedes were euyll. ²⁰ For euerye man that euyll doth, hateth the light: nether commeth to the lyghte: lest his dedes shoulde be reproued.

¹⁹ Repent ye therfore and turne, that youre synnes maye be done awaye. When the tyme of refreshing commeth, which we shall haue of the presence of the Lorde,

²⁷ For the hert of this people is waxed grosse and their eares were thicke of hearinge, and theyr eyes haue they closed: lest they should se with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and vnderstande with their hertes, and should be conuerted, and I should heale them.

¹⁶ To the one part are we the sauoure of death vnto death. And vnto the other parte are we the lauoure of lyfe vnto lyfe. And who is mete vnto these thynges?

³¹ And I wyl make your cityes desolate, and brynge your sanctuaries vnto nought, and wyll not smel the sauoures of your swete odoures.

¹⁰ O God, how long shall the aduersary do this dishonoure? how longe shall the enemy blaspheme thy name? for euer?

⁵ Lorde, howe longe wylt thou be angrye? shall thy ielousy burne lyke fyre for euer?

¹³ Turne the agayn (O Lorde) at the last, & be gracious vnto thy seruauntes.

³ Lorde how longe shall the vngodly, how longe shall the vngodly triumphe?

⁷ Youre lande lyeth waste, youre cyties are brent vp, youre enemyes deuoure your lande, and ye muste be fayne to stand, and loke vpon it: and it is desolate, as it were wyth enemyes in a battell.

²⁶ At that time shal their gates mourne & complayne, and they shall sitte as desolate folck vpon the earth.

¹ Beholde, the Lorde shal waste & plage the worlde, he shal make the face of the earthe desolate, & scatre abroade the inhabitoures therof. ² Then shal the pryeste be as the people, the mayster as the seruaunt, the dame lyke the mayde, the seller lyke the byer he that lendeth vpon vsurye, lyke vnto him that boroweth vpon vsury, the creditoure, as the detter. ³ Yea miserably shall the worlde be wasted & clean destroied. For the Lorde hath so determed in him selfe. ⁴ The earth shalbe heauy & decay. The face of the earth shal perishe & fal awaye, the proude people of the worlde shal come to naught. ⁵ For the earth is corrupt of her indwellers. For why? they haue offended the law chaunged the ordynaunces, & made the euerlasting testament of none effecte. ⁶ And therfore shall the course deuoure the earth: for they that dwel theron haue sinned, wherfore they shal be brent also, and those that remaine shalbe very few. ⁷ The swete wyne shal mourne, the grapes shalbe weake, and al that haue bene mery in harte, shall sighe. ⁸ The myrth of tabrettes shalbe layde doune, the chere of the ioyfull shall cease & the pleasure of lutes shal haue an ende ⁹ there shal no more wyne be droncke wyth myrth, the beere shalbe bytter to them that dryncke it, ¹⁰ the wicked cytyes shalbe broken donne, al houses shalbe shut, that no man maye come in. ¹¹ In the stretes shall there be lyft vp a crye because of wine, al mens chere shall vanyshe awaye & al ioye of the earth shal passe. ¹² Desolacion shal remayne in the cytyes, and the gates shalbe smytten wyth wastnesse.

⁶⁴ And the Lord shall scater the amonge all nacions from the one ende of the world vnto the other and there thou shalt serue straunge goddes, whyche nether thou nor thy fathers haue knowne: euen wood and stone.

¹¹ And the rest of the people that were lefte in the cytie, and them that were fled to the kynge of Babilon, & the remnaunt of the comen people, Nabusaradan the chefe Marshal caryed awaye,

²¹ And the kynge of Babilon smote them and slue them at Reblah in the lande of Hemath. And so Iuda was caried awaye out of their lande.

¹⁵ Agayne, thou increaceste the people, O Lorde, thou increaceste the people, thou shalte be praysed and magnyfyed in all the endes of the worlde.

²⁹ The whole lande shall fle, for the noyse of the horsmen and bowmen, they shal runne into dennes into woddes, and climme vp the stony rockes. All the cyties shalbe voyde, and noman dwellinge therin.

⁷ As for me (saye I) I haue forsaken myne owne dwellyng place, & left myne heretage. My life also that I loue so well, haue I geuen in to the handes of myne enemyes.

⁴ I wyll scatter them aboute also in all kyngdomes and landes to be plaged, because of Manasseh the sonne of Hezekiah kynge of Iuda, for the thinges that he dyd in Ierusalem.

²⁸ Thys is the summe of the people, whom Nabuchodonosor ledde awaye captyue. In the seuenth yeare of hys reygne, he caried awaye of the Iewes, thre thousand and thre and twenty. ²⁹ In the .xviij. yeare. Nabuchodonosor caryed awaye from Ierusalem eight hundreth and .xxxij. personnes. ³⁰ In the .xxiij. yeare of Nabuchodonosor Nabuzaradan the chefe Captayne, toke awaye seuen hundreth .xlv. Iewes presoners. The whole summe of all the presoners, is foure thousand and syxe hundreth.

²⁰ wherfore wilt thou styll forgett vs, and forsake vs so longe?

¹ I saye then: hath God cast away hys people? God forbyd. For euen I verelye am an Israelite, of the sede of Abraham, and of the trybe of Beniamin, ² GOD hath not caste awaye hys people whiche he knewe before. Eyther wote ye not what the scripture sayth by the mouth of Helyas, how he maketh intercessyon to God agaynst Israel, saiynge:

¹⁵ For yf the castynge awaye of them, be the reconcilinge of the worlde: what shall the receyuing of them be but lyfe agayne from death?

¹⁸ And in thy seed shal al the nacions of the erth be blessed, because thou hast obeyed my voyce.

² For they haue taken the doughters of the same, and their sonnes, and haue myxte the holy seade wyth the nacyons in the landes: and the hande of the prynces and rulers hath bene pryncypall in hys trespace.

⁷ If a tre be cut downe, there is some hope yet, that it wyll sproute and shute forth the braunches agayne: ⁸ For though a rote be waxen olde and deed in the grounde, yet when the stocke ⁹ getteth the sent of water, yt wyll budde, and brynge forth bowes, lyke as whent it was fyrst planted.

⁹ And excepte the Lord of hostes had lefte vs a fewe alyue: we shulde haue ben as Sodoma, and lyke vnto Gomorra.

³ Then shall the remnaunt in Syon and the remnaunte at Ierusalem be called holye: namelye all suche as are wrytten amonge the lyuynge at Ierusalem:

²⁰ After that daye shall the remnaunt of Israel, & suche as are escaped out of the house of Iacob, seke no more comfort at him that smote them, but shall comforte them selues wyth faythfulnesse and truthe in the Lorde, the holy one of Israell. ²¹ The remnaunt, yea and the posteryte of Iacob, shall conuerte vnto God the myghty one. ²² For thoughe thy people (O Israel) be as the sande of the sea, yet shall but the remnaunt of them onely conuerte vnto hym. Perfecte is the iudgement of hym that floweth in ryghteousnesse,

⁸ Moreouer thus sayeth the Lord: lyke as when one would gather holy grapes, men say vnto him: breake it not of for it is holy: euen so wyll I do also for my seruauntes sake, that I wyll not destroye them all. ⁹ But I wyl take a sede oute of Iacob, and out of Iuda one, to take possession of my hyl. My chosen shal possesse these thinges, and my seruauntes shal dwell there.

¹⁵ So dyd not the one, and yet had he an excellente spirite. What dyd then the one? He sought the sede promised of God. Therfore loke well to your spirit, and let no man despise the wyfe of his youth.

²² yea, and except those dayes should be shortened, there shoulde no fleshe be saued: but for the chosens sake, those daies shalbe shortened.

²⁰ And except that the Lord shoulde shorten those dayes, no man shoulde be saued. But for the electes sake which he hath chosen, he hath shortened those dayes.

¹ I am the true vyne, and my father is on husband man. ² Euery braunche that beareth not frute in me, he wyll take awaye. And euerye braunche that beareth frute, wil he pourge, that it maye bryng more frute. ³ Now are ye cleane thorowe the wordes which I haue spoken vnto you.

⁵ whose also are the fathers & they of whom (as concerninge the flesh) Christe came, whiche is God ouer al thynges blessed for euer. Amen.

⁵ Euen so at thys tyme is there a remnaunte left thorow the election of grace. ⁶ Yf it be of grace, then is it not of workes. For then were grace no more grace. Yf it be of workes, then is it no more grace. For then were deseruynge no lenger deseruynge.

¹⁶ For yf one piece be holye, the whole heape is holy & yf the rose be holy, the braunches are holy also. ¹⁷ Thoughe some of the braunches be broken of, and thou beynge a wylde olyue tree, arte grafte in among them, and made partaker of the rote and fatnes of the olyue tree, ¹⁸ bost not thy selfe agaynst the braunches. For yf thou boste thy selfe, remember that thou bearest not the rote, but the rote the. ¹⁹ Thou wylte saye then: the braunches are broken of, that I might be grafte in. ²⁰ Thou sayeste well: because of vnbelefe they are broken of, & thou standest stedfaste in faythe. ²¹ Be not hye mynded, but feare seyng that God spared not the naturall braunches, leste happlye he also spare not the. ²² Beholde the kyndnes and rigorousnes of God on them which fell, rygorousnes: but towardes the kyndnes, yf thou contynue in hys kyndnes. Or els thou shalte be hewen of, ²³ and yf they byde not styll in vnbelefe, shalbe graffed in agayne. For God is of power to graffe them in agayn. ²⁴ For yf thou wast cut out of a naturall wylde olyue tree, and waste graffed contrary to nature into a true olyue tre, howe muche more shall the naturall braunches be graffed into theyr owne olyue tree agayne. ²⁵ I woulde not that thys secrete shoulde be hyd from you my brethren (leste ye should be wyse in youre owne conceptes) that partelye blyndenes is happened in Israell, vntyll the fulnes of the gentyls be come in: ²⁶ and so al Israel shalbe saued. As it is wrytten: There shal come oute of Syon he that doeth delyuer, and shall turne away the vngodlynes of Iacob. ²⁷ And this is my couenaunte vnto them, when I shall take awaye theyr synnes. ²⁸ As concernynge the Gospell, they are ennemyes for youre sakes: but as touchynge the eleccyon, they are beloued for the fathers sakes. ²⁹ For verelye the giftes and callyng of god are suche, that it cannot repente hym of them,

¹⁶ To Abraham and hys seede were the promyses made.
