¹⁸ But firste wyll I sufficientlye rewarde their shamefull blasphemies and synnes, wherwyth they haue defyled my lande: Namely, wyth their stinckyng Idols and obhominacions, wherwith they haue fylled myne heretage.

²⁷ (for all these abhomynacions haue the men of the land done whyche were there before you, and the lande is defiled) ²⁸ lest that the land spewe you out when ye haue defyled it, as it spewed out the nacions that were there before you.

³⁰ And I wyll destroy your alters bylt vpon hye hylles, and ouerthrow youre images and caste youre carkasses vpon the bodyes of your idolles, and my soule shall abhorre you.

³³ And se that ye polute not the lande whych ye are in, for bloud defyleth the lande. And the lande can none otherwyse be clensed of the bloude that is shed therin, but by the bloude of hym that shed it. ³⁴ Defyle not therfore the land whyche ye inhabyte, and in the myddes of whych I also dwel among the chyldren of Israel.

³⁸ And shed the innocent bloud of their sonnes and of their daughters, whom they offered vnto the ymages of Canaan, so that the land was defiled with bloud.

⁵ For the earth is corrupt of her indwellers. For why? they haue offended the law chaunged the ordynaunces, & made the euerlasting testament of none effecte.

² conforte Ierusalem, and tell her: that her trauayle is at an ende that her offence is pardoned, that she hath receyued of the Lordes hande sufficient correccyon for all her synnes.

⁷ For your greate reprofe & shame, shall they haue ioy that ye may haue parte with them. For they shall haue double possession in their lande, & euerlastinge ioy shalbe with them.

⁷ And when I had brought you into a plasaunt welbuilded lande, that ye might enioye the frutes and all the commodities of the same: ye went forth, and defyled my lande, and brought myne heretage to abhomynacion.

¹ Comenly, when a man putteth awaye his wife, and she goeth from him, and marieth with another, then the question is: should he resorte vnto her any more after that? Is not this felde then defiled and vnclean? But as for the thou hast played the harlot with many louers, yet turne againe to me, sayeth the Lorde. ² Lyft vp thine eyes on euery side, and loke, yf thou be not defyled. Thou hast wayted for them in stretes, and as a murtherer in the wildernesse. Thorowe thy whordome and shameful blasphemies, is the lande defyled.

⁹ Yea and the noise of her whordome that defyled the whole lande. For she hath commytted her aduoutrye with stones and stocke.

¹⁸ Let my persecuters be confounded, but not me: let them be afrayed, and not me. Thou shalt bringe vpon them the tyme of their plage, and shalt destroye them right sore.

¹⁸ and thyther shall ye come. And as for all impedymentes and all youre abhomynacyons: I wyll take them awaye.

²¹ But loke, whose hertes are dysposed to folowe theyr abhomynacyons & wicked lyuynges: those mens dedes wyll I brynge vpon their owne heades, sayeth the Lorde God.

⁷ that sayde vnto me: O thou sonne of man, this rowme is my seate, and the place of my fotesteppes: where as I wyll dwell amonge the chyldren of Israell for euermore: so that the house of Israell shall nomore defyle my holye name: nether they, ner their kynges, thorowe their whordome, thorowe their hye places, and thorowe the deed bodyes of their Kynges: ⁸ whych haue buylded their thresholdes in maner harde vpon my thresholdes, & their postes almoste at my postes: so that there is but a bare wall betwyxte me and them. Thus haue they defyled my holye name wyth their abhominacyons, that they haue commytted. Wherfore I haue destroyed them in my wrath: ⁹ But now they shall put awaye their whordome and the deed bodyes of their kynges out of my syght, that I maye dwell amonge them for euermore.

¹⁰ Vp, get you hence, for here shall ye haue no rest. Because of their Idolatrye they are corrupte, & shall myserably perishe.

¹ Wo to the abhomynable, fylthy & cruell cytie: ² whiche will not heart, nor be refourmed. Get trust is not in the Lord, neither wyll she holde her to her goo. ³ Her rulers within her are as roaryng lyons: her iudges are as wolues in the euenynge, which leaue nothynge behynde them tyll the morowe. ⁴ Her prophetes are lyght persones & vnfaythfull men: her priestes vnhalowe the Sanctuarye, and do wrong vnder the pretence of the lawe. ⁵ But the iuste Lorde that doth no vnryghte, was amonge them, euery morning shewynge them hys lawe clearlye, and ceased not. But the vngodlye wyll not learne to be ashamed.

⁶ Reward her euen as she rewarded you, & geue her double accordinge to her workes. And youre in double to her in the same cuppe, which she fylled vnto you.
