⁴⁰ And I wyll set vp an euerlastinge couenaunt with them, Namely, that I will neuer ceasse to do them good, and that I will put my feate in ther hertes so that they shall not runne awaye from me.

⁷ Moreouer I wyl make my bonde betwene me & the, and thy seed after the, in their times to be an euerlastyng testament, So that I wyl be god vnto the & to thy seed after the. ⁸ And I wyl geue vnto the and to thy seed after the, the lande where in thou arte a straunger: Euen all the lande of Canaan, for an euerlastynge possession & wyl be their God. ⁹ And god sayd vnto Abraham: Se thou kepe my testament, both thou & thy seed after the in their tymes: ¹⁰ This is my testament which ye shal kepe betwene me & you and thy seed after the, that ye cyrcumcyse all youre men chyldren. ¹¹ Ye shall circumcyse the foreskynne of youre flesh, & it shall be a token of the bond betwyxte me and you. ¹² And euery man chylde when it is .viij. daies olde, shal be circumcysed among you in your generacions, and all seruauntes also borne at home or bought wt money though they be straungers and not of thy seed. The seruaunte borne in thy house, & he also that is bought with money, must needes be circumcysed, ¹³ that my testament maye be in your flesh, for an euerlastyng bonde.

⁴ And he shalbe as the mornynge lyght, when the sunne shyneth in a mornynge in whyche are no cloudes to lette the bryghtnesse, and as the grasse of the earthe is by the vertue of the raygne.

⁵ For the earth is corrupt of her indwellers. For why? they haue offended the law chaunged the ordynaunces, & made the euerlasting testament of none effecte.

³ Encline youre eares, & come vnto me, take hede, & your soule shall lyue. For I wyll make an euerlastynge couenaunt wyth you, euen the sure mercyes of Dauid.

⁸ For I the Lorde, whiche loue right and hate robberye (though it were offred me) shal make their worckes of faithfulnes, and make an euerlastinge couenaunt with them.

⁷ And I wyll geue them an herte, to knowe, how that I am the Lorde. They shalbe my people, and I wyll be their God, for they shall returne vnto me wt their whole herte.

³¹ Beholde, the dayes come (sayeth the Lord) that I wil make a newe couenaunt with the house of Israell & with the house of Iuda: ³² not after the couenaunte that I made wyth theyr fathers, when I toke them by the hande, and led them oute of the lande of Egypte: whiche couenaunte they brake, wherfore I punyshed them sore, sayeth the Lorde: ³³ But thys shall be the couenaunte that I wyll make with the house of Israel after those dayes, sayeth the Lorde: I wyll plante my lawe in the inwarde partes of them, & wryte it in theyr hertes, and wilbe theyr God, and they shalbe my people.

⁵ They shall aske the waye to Sion, thyther shall they turne theyr faces, & come and hange vpon the, in a couenaunte that neuer shall be broken.

²⁶ A new herte also will I geue you, and a new sprete wyll I put into you: As for that stony herte, I wyll take it out of youre body, & geue you a fleshly herte.

²⁹ After that, wyll I hyde my face nomore from them, but will poure out my sprete vpon the house of Israell, sayeth the Lorde God.

⁷² To fulfyll the mercy promysed to oure fathers, and to remember his holye couenaunt. ⁷³ And to performe the othe which he sware to oure father Abraham, ⁷⁴ for to geue vs. That we delyuered out of the power of oure enemyes, might serue him without feare ⁷⁵ all the dayes of our lyfe, in such holynes and ryghtuousnes as are accept before hym.

²⁷ my shepe heare my voice, & I know them, and they folowe me, ²⁸ and I geue vnto them eternall lyfe, and they shall neuer perish neyther shall any man plucke them out of my hande. ²⁹ My father whiche gaue them me, is greater then all, and no man is able to take them out of my fathers hande. ³⁰ And I and my father are one.

²⁸ For we knowe that all thynges worke for the beste vnto them that loue God, whyche also are called of purpose. ²⁹ For those which he knewe before he also ordeyned before, that they shoulde be like fashioned vnto the shape of hys sonne that he myght be the fyrste begotten sonne amonge manye brethren. ³⁰ More ouer whiche he appointed before, them he also called. And which he called, them also he iustified, whiche he iustified, them he also glorifyed. ³¹ What shall we then say vnto these thynges? yf God be on oure syde: who can be agaynste vs? ³² whyche spared not his owne sonne but gaue hym for vs all: how shall he not wyth hym geue vs all thynges also? ³³ Who shall laye anye thynge to the charg of Goddes chosen? It is God that iustifieth ³⁴ who then shall condempne? It is Christe whyche is dead, ye rather which is rysen agayne, which is also on the right hande of God, and maketh intercession for vs. ³⁵ Who shall seperate vs from the loue of God shall tribulation? or anguyshe? or persecution? othere honger? other nakednesse? other peryll? other swearde? ³⁶ As it is wrytten: For thy sake are we killed al day longe, and are counted as shepe appointed to be slayne. ³⁷ Neuerthelesse in all these thynges we ouercome stronglye thorowe hys helpe that loued vs. ³⁸ Yea and I am sure that neyther death, neither life, neyther angels, nor rule, neythere power, neythere thinges presente, neyther thynges to come, ³⁹ neyther heyght, neyther loweth, neyther any other creature? shall be able to depart vs from the lowe of God, shewed in Christ Iesu our Lord.

¹⁴ that the blessyng of Abraham myghte come on the Gentyles thorowe Iesus Christ and that we myght receyue the promes of the spyryte thorow fayth. ¹⁵ Brethren I wyll speake after the maner of men. Thoughe it be but a mans testamente, yet no man despyseth it, or addeth any thyng there to when it is once alowed. ¹⁶ To Abraham and hys seede were the promyses made. He sayth not in the sedes as in manye: but in thy sede as in one, whiche is Christe. ¹⁷ Thys I saye, that the lawe which beganne afterward beyonde: .iiij.C. and .xxx. yeares doth not disanull the testament, that was confyrmed afore of God vnto Christe warde, to make the promes of none effecte.

¹ Let vs feare therfore leste anye of vs forsakinge the promes of entringe into his reste, shoulde seme to come behinde.

¹³ For when God made promes to Abraham, because he had no greater thynge to sweare by, he sweare by hym selfe, ¹⁴ saiynge: Surelye I wyl blesse the, and multyplye the in deede. ¹⁵ And so after that he had taryed a longe tyme, he enioyed the promes. ¹⁶ Men verelye sweare by hym that is greater then them selues, & an othe to confyrme the thynge, is amonge them an ende of all stryfe. ¹⁷ So God wyllynge verye aboundauntlye to shewe vnto the heyres of promes, the stablenes of hys counsayle, he added an othe, ¹⁸ that by two immutable thynges (in which it was vnpossyble that GOD shaulde lye) we myghte haue perfecte consolacyon, whiche haue fled, for to holde faste the hope that is set before vs,

²⁴ But thys man, because he endureth euer hath an euerlastyng priestehode.

²⁰ The God of peace that brought agayne from death oure Lorde Iesus, the great shepe herde of the shepe, thorowe the bloude of the euerlastynge testament,

¹⁷ Euery good gyfte, and euerye perfecte gyfte, is from aboue and commeth doune from the father of lyght wyth whome is no varyablenes, neyther is he chaunged vnto darkenes.

⁵ whiche are kept by the power of God thorowe fayth, vnto saluacyon, whiche saluacyon is prepared all ready to be shewed in the laste tyme,
