¹⁴ They say vnto God: go from vs: we desyre not the knowledge of thy wayes.

¹⁷ whiche say vnto God: go from vs, and after this maner: Tush, what wyll the Almyghty do vnto vs?

⁴ The vngodlye is so proude and full of indignacyon, that he careth not mether is God before hys eyes.

¹¹ For he sayeth in hys herte: Tushe, God hath forgotten, he hath turned awaye hys face, so that he wyll neuer se it.

⁷ The feare of the Lord is the begynnynge of wysdome. But fooles despise wysdome & destruccion.

²² O ye chyldren, how longe will ye loue chyldyshnesse? how long wil the, scorners delite in scorning & the vnwise be enemies vnto knowlege?

²⁹ And that because thei hated knowlege, & receyued not the feare of the Lord,

¹⁵ They take vp all with theyr angle, they catche it in theyr net, and gather it in theyr yarne: whereof they reioyce, and are glad,

²⁸ When he sawe Iesus he cried and fel doune before him, and with a loud voice saied: What haue I to do with the Iesus the sonne of the God moste hiest? I besech the tormente me not.

³⁷ And all the whole multitude of the Gaderenites, besought hym that he woulde departe from them: for they were taken with greate feare. And he gate him into the shyppe, and retourned backe againe.

¹⁹ And this is the condempnacion, that light is come into the worlde, and the men loued darknes more then lyght, because their dedes were euyll. ²⁰ For euerye man that euyll doth, hateth the light: nether commeth to the lyghte: lest his dedes shoulde be reproued.

⁴⁵ And because I tell you the truthe, therfore ye beleue me not. ⁴⁶ Which of you can rebuke me of synne? Yf I saye the truth, why do not ye beleue me? ⁴⁷ He that is of God, heareth Goddes wordes. Ye therfor heare them not, because ye, are not of God.

²³ He that hateth me, hateth my father. ²⁴ If I had not done workes among them which none other man dyd, they had not had synne. But now haue they sene, & yet haue hated both me & my father:

²⁸ And as it semed not good vnto them to be a knowen of God, euen so God deliuered them vp vnto a leud minde, that they should do those thinges, whiche were not comly,

⁷ Because that the fleshlye minde is enemy agaynste God: for it is not obediente to the lawe of God, neyther can be.

¹⁰ and in all deceyuablenes of vnryghtuousnes, amonge them that peryshe: because they receyued not the loue of the truethe, that they myght haue bene sayed. ¹¹ And therfore God shall sende them stronge delusyon, that they shoulde beleue lyes: ¹² that all they myghte be damned which beleued not the trueth but had pleasure in vnryghtuousnes.

³ For the tyme wyll come, when they wyll not suffer wholsome doctryne: but after theyr owne lustes shall they (whose eares ytch) get them an heape of teachers, ⁴ & shal turne theyr eares from the trueth, and shalbe geuen vnto fables.
