³ O that I might se him, and fynde hym. O that I myght come before his seat,

³ Neuerthelesse I am purposed to talke with the almyghtie, & my desyre is to comen with God.

²¹ Though a body myght pleate with God, as one man doth with another,

³⁵ O that I had one whiche woulde heare me. Lo, this is my cause. Let the almighty geue me answere: and let hym that is my contrary party, sue me with a lybell. ³⁶ Then shal I take it vpon my shoulder, & as a garlande about my heade. ³⁷ I haue tolde the nombre of my goynges & delyuered them vnto hym as to a Prynce.

¹ Moreouer, God spake vnto Iob & sayde: ² Can he that stryueth with the almightye, be at reste? Shulde not he whiche disputeth with God, geue hym an aunswere? ³ Iob answered the Lorde, sayinge: ⁴ Beholde, I am to vyle a personne, to aunswere the, therfore wyll I laye my hand vpon my mouth. ⁵ Ones or twise haue I spoken, but I wyll saye no more.

⁸ Therfore (Lorde) we haue a respecte vnto the waye of thy iudgementes, thy name & thy remembraunce reioyse thy soule.

⁶ Seke the Lorde, whyle he maye be founde, & call vpon hym whyle he is nye. ⁷ Let the vngodly man forsake his wayes & the vnrighteous his ymaginacions, & turne agayne vnto the Lorde: so shall he be mercyfull vnto him: & to oure God, for he is redy to forgeue.

⁷ Doutles oure owne wickednesse rewarde vs: But Lorde do thou accordinge to thy name, though oure transgressyons and synnes be many.

¹⁹ For God was in Christe, and made agrement betwene the worlde and hym selfe, and imputed not theyr synnes vnto them, & hathe committed to vs the preachynge of the atonnement. ²⁰ Nowe then are we messengers in the roume of Christ: euen as thoughe God dyd beseche you thorowe vs: So praye we you in Christes stede, that ye be atone with God,

⁶ Seynge therfore it foloweth that some must inter therinto, and they to whom it was fyrst preached, intred not therin for vnbeleues sake:
