¹ Then spake the Lorde vnto Iob oute of the storme, and sayd: ² what is he that hideth his mynde with folysh wordes? ³ Gyrde vp thy loynes lyke a man, for I wyl question the, se thou geue me a dyrecte aunswere. ⁴ Where wast thou, when I layde the foundacyons of the earth? Tel planely yf thou hast vnderstandyng. ⁵ Who hath measured it, knoweste thou? Or, who hath spreade the lyne vpon it? ⁶ Wherevpon stande the pylers of it? Or who layed the corner stone? ⁷ Where wast thou when the mornyng starres praysed me together & all the chyldren of God reioysed triumphantly? ⁸ Who shut the sea with dores, when it brake forth as a chyld oute of his mothers wombe? ⁹ When I made the cloudes to be a coueryng for it, & swadled it wyth the darcke? ¹⁰ when I gaue it my commaundement, makynge dores & barres for it, ¹¹ saying: Hytherto shalt thou come, but no forther, & here shalte thou laye doune thy proude & hye waues. ¹² Haste thou geuen the mornyng his charge (as sone as thou wast borne) and shewed the daye sprynge his place, ¹³ that it might take holde of the corners of the earthe, & that the vngodlye myght be shaken out? ¹⁴ Theyr tokens & weapons haste thou turned lyke claye & set them vp agayne as the chaunginge of a garment. ¹⁵ Yea thou hast spoyled the vngodly of theyr lyght, & broken the arme of the proude. ¹⁶ Camest thou euer into the grounde of the sea: or haste thou walked in the lowe corners of the depe? ¹⁷ Haue the gates of death ben opened vnto the, or haste thou sene the dore of euerlasting treasure? ¹⁸ Hast thou also perceiued, how broad the earth is? Nowe yf thou haste knowledge of all, ¹⁹ then shewe me where lyght dwelleth, & where darcknes is: ²⁰ that thou mayest brynge vs vnto theyr quarters, yf thou canste tell the waye to theyr houses. ²¹ Knewest thou (when thou wast borne) how olde thou shuldest be? ²² Wentest thou euer into the threasuryes of the snowe, or haste thou sene the secrete places of the hayle, ²³ whiche I haue prepared agaynst the tyme of trouble, agaynste the tyme of battell and warre? ²⁴ By what waye is the lyghte parted, and the heate dealte oute vpon the earth? ²⁵ Who deuydeth the aboundaunce of waters into ryuers, or who maketh a waye for the stormye wether, ²⁶ that it watereth & moystureth the drye and baren grounde, ²⁷ to make the grasse growe in places where no body dwelleth, and in the wyldernes where no man remayneth? ²⁸ Who is the father of rayne? Or who hath begotten the droppes of dewe? ²⁹ Oute of whose wombe came the yse? Who hath gendred the coldnes of the ayre? ³⁰ that the waters are as harde as stones, and lye congeled aboue the depe. ³¹ Haste thou brought the .vij. starres together? Or art thou able to breake the circle of heauen? ³² Canst thou brynge forth the mornynge starre or the euenyng starre at conuenyente tyme, & conueye them home agayne? ³³ Knowest thou the course of heauen, that thou mayest set vp the ordynaunce thereof vpon the earth? ³⁴ Moreouer canst thou lyfte vp thy voyce to the cloudes, that they maye powre doune a greate rayne vpon the? ³⁵ Canste thou thondre also that they maye go theyr waye, & be obedient vnto the, saying: Lo here are we. ³⁶ Who geueth sure wysdome or stedfast vnderstandyng? ³⁷ who numbreth the cloudes in wysdome? who stylleth the vehement waters of heauen? ³⁸ who turneth the clottes to duste, & then to be clottes agayne? ³⁹ Hunteste thou the praye from the lyon, or fedest thou hys welpes ⁴⁰ lying in theyr dennes, & lurkyng in theyr couches? ⁴¹ who prouydeth meate for the rauen, when his younge ones crye vnto God, and fle aboute for wante of meate?

¹⁶ And the thyrde daye in the mornyng there was thunder, & lightening & a thicke cloude vpon the mounte, & the voice of the horne waxed exceadynge loude, & all the people that was in the hoste was afrayed. ¹⁷ And Moses brought the people out of the tentes to mete with God, & they stode vnder the hyll. ¹⁸ And mounte Sinai was altogether on a smoke: because the Lorde descended doune vpon it in fyre. And the smoke therof ascended vp, as it had bene the smoke of a kylle, & all the mount was exceadyng fearfull. ¹⁹ And the voyce of the horne blewe & waxed louder & louder. Moses spake, & God aunswered hym and that with a voyce.

¹¹ ye came and stode also vnder the hyll, and the hyll burnte with fyre euen vnto the mydes of heauen, and there was darckenes cloudes and myste. ¹² And the Lorde spake vnto you out of the fyre and ye heard the voyce of his wordes: but sawe no ymage, saue heard a voyce onely.

²² These wordes the Lord spake vnto al youre multitude in the mount out of the fyre, cloud and darckenes, with a loude voyce & added no more therto, and wrote them in .ij. tables of stone and deliuered them vnto me. ²³ But as sone as ye heard the voyce out of the darcknes, and sawe the hyl burne wyth fyre, ye came vnto me all the heades of your tribes and your elders: ²⁴ & ye sayd behold: the Lorde our God hath shewed vs hys glorye & hys greatnes, & we haue heard hys voyce out of the fyre & we haue sene thys day that God may talke with a man and he yet lyue.

¹¹ And he sayde: come out and stande before the Lorde. And beholde, the lorde went by and a myghty stronge wynde that rent the mountaynes, and brake the rockes before him. But the Lorde was not in the wynde. And after the wynde came an earthquake. But the lorde was not in the earthquake.

¹ And it chaunced when the lorde woulde take vp Eliah to heauen in a whorle winde, that Eliah & Elizeus were goynge from Galgal.

¹¹ And as they went walkynge and talkynge: beholde, there came a charet of fyre and horsses of fyre, and put them a sondre. And Eliah went vp in the whorlewynde to heauen.

¹ At thys, my herte is astonyed, & moued out of hys place. ² Heare then the sounde of hys voyce, & the noyse that goeth out of hys mouth.

⁹ Oute of the south commeth the tempest, and coulde out of the north.

¹⁴ Herken vnto this (O Iob) stande styl, and considre the wonderous worckes of God.

⁶ Then spake the Lorde vnto Iob oute of the storme, & sayd:

⁴ And I loked, and beholde a stormy wynde came out of the North with a greate cloude full of fyre, which with hys glystre lyghtned all rounde aboute. And in the myddest of the fyre it was all cleare,

³ The Lorde suffreth longe, he is of greate power, & so innocent that he leaueth no man fautlesse before hym. The Lorde goeth forth in tempest and stormy wether, the cloudes are the dust of his fete.

³ But I haue vnderstandyng as well as ye, and am no lesse then ye. Ye who knoweth not these thinges?

⁴ to pleat my cause before him, & to fill my mouth wt argumentes. ⁵ That I might know, what answer he would geue me: & that I might vnderstand, what he woulde saye vnto me.

²⁵ Is it not so? Who wyll then reproue me as a lyar, & say that my wordes are nothing worth.

³ Where is the counsell that thou shouldest geue him, which hath no wysedome? Wilt thou so shew thine excellent ryghteousnes?

¹¹ I wyl teache you in the name of God? and the thinge that I haue of the Almightye will I not kepe from you.

³⁵ As for Iob he hath nether spoken to the purpose nor wyselye.

¹⁶ Therfore hath Iob opened hys mouthe but in vayne, and folyshlye hathe he made so many wordes.

³ For who can kepe his owne councell so secrete, but it shalbe knowne? Therfore haue I spoken vnwysely, seyng these thynges are so hye, & passe myne vnderstandynge.

⁷ because they woulde be doctours in the scrypture, and yet vnderstand not what they speake, nether wherof they affyrme.

¹¹ Of thys maner shal ye eate it: with youre loynes gyrded, and shoes on youre fete, and your staues in your handes. And ye shal eate it in haste, for it is the Lordes passeouer,

⁴⁶ And the hande of the Lorde was on Eliah, and he gyrdled vp hys loynes and ranne before Ahab, tyl they came to Iezrahel.

¹⁵ Lo, there is nether conforte nor hope for me, yf he wyll slaye me. But yf I shewe and reproue myne owne wayes in his syght,

²² And then sende for me to the lawe, that I maye answere for my selfe: or els, let me speake, and geue thou the answere.

³ O that I might se him, and fynde hym. O that I myght come before his seat, ⁴ to pleat my cause before him, & to fill my mouth wt argumentes. ⁵ That I might know, what answer he would geue me: & that I might vnderstand, what he woulde saye vnto me. ⁶ Wyl he pleate against me with his greate power & strength, or will he leane him selfe vtterly vpon me? ⁷ Oh no, let him not do so with me. But let him geue me lyke power to go to the lawe, then am I sure to winne my matter.

³⁵ O that I had one whiche woulde heare me. Lo, this is my cause. Let the almighty geue me answere: and let hym that is my contrary party, sue me with a lybell. ³⁶ Then shal I take it vpon my shoulder, & as a garlande about my heade. ³⁷ I haue tolde the nombre of my goynges & delyuered them vnto hym as to a Prynce.

⁷ Gyrd vp thy loynes lyke a man, & tell me the thynges that I wyl aske the.

¹⁷ And therfore gyrde vp thy loines, arise, and tell them al, that I geue the in commaundement. Feare them not, I will not haue the to be afrayed of them.

¹³ Wherfore gyrde vp the loynes of youre myndes, be sober, and trust perfectelye on the grace that is broughte vnto you, by the declarynge of Iesus Christe,

¹ In the beginnynge GOD created heauen and erth.

²⁵ Thou Lorde in the beginnyng hast layed the foundacion of the earth, and the heauens are the workes of thy handes.

⁵ Thou hast layed the earth vpon her foundacion, that it neuer moueth at any tyme.

²² The Lord hym self had me in possession in the begynning of hys wayes, or euer he beganne hys workes afore tyme.

²⁹ When he shut the sea within certayn boundes, that the waters should not go ouer their markes. When he layed the foundacions of the earth ³⁰ I was with hym, ordering all thinges, delytynge dayly, and reioysinge all waye before hym.

⁴ Who hath climed vp into heauen? Who hath come down from thence? Who hath holden the wynd fast in his hand? Who hath comprehended the waters in a garment? Who hath set al the endes of the worlde? What is his name, or his sonnes name? Canst thou tel?

² but in these laste dayes he hath spoken vnto vs by hys sonne, whom he hath made heyre of all thynges, by whom also he made the worlde.

¹⁰ And thou Lorde in the beginninge hast layed the foundacion of the earth. And the heauens are the workes of thy handes.

⁹ Hys length exceadeth the length of the erth, & his bredth the bredth of the sea.

²⁵ When he weyed the windes, & measured the waters

⁴ Their sounde is gone oute into all landes, and their wordes into the endes of the worlde.

⁵⁵ He dyd cast out the Heathen before them, caused their lande to be deuyded among them for an heritage, and made the trybes of Israel to dwell in their tentes.

²⁷ For when he made the heauens, I was present: when he sette vp the depthes in ordre:

²⁹ When he shut the sea within certayn boundes, that the waters should not go ouer their markes. When he layed the foundacions of the earth

¹¹ But Pellicanes, Storkes, great Dules, and Rauens shall haue it in possessyon, and dwell therin. For God shall sprede out the lyne of desolacyon vpon it, and weye it with the stones of emptynes.

¹² Who hath holden the waters in hys fyst? Who hath measured heauen with his spanne, and hath comprehended all the earth of the worlde in thre fyngers? Who hath weyed the mountaynes and hylles?

²² That he sytteth vpon the circle of the worlde, and that al the inhabytours of the worlde are in comparison of him, but as greshoppers: That he spredeth out the heauens as a coueryng, that he stretcheth them out, as a tent to dwell in:

¹ I lyfte vp myne eyes agayne, & loked, and beholde, a man wyth a measure lyne in his hand. ² Then sayde I: whether goest thou? And he sayde vnto me: To measure Ierusalem, that I maye se howe longe & howe broade it is.

¹⁶ and to preache the Gospell in those regyons, whiche are beyonde you: and not to reioyce of that whiche is by another mans measure prepared already.

¹⁸ And thou shalt make .xx. bordes for the habytacion on the south syde, ¹⁹ & thou shalt make .xl. sockets of syluer and put theim vnder the .xx. bordes .ij. sockettes vnder euery borde, for their .ij. fete. ²⁰ In lyke maner in the north syde of the habitacion there shalbe .xx. bordes ²¹ and .xl. sockettes of siluer: two sokettes vnder euery bord. ²² And for the west ende of the habitacion, shalt thou make syxe bordes ²³ & two bordes mo for the two west corners of the habitacyon: ²⁴ so that these two bordes be coupled together beneth and lykewyse aboue with clampes. And so shall it be in both the corners. ²⁵ And so ther shal be .viij. bordes in al & .xvi. sockettes of syluer .ij. sockettes vnder euery bord.

⁸ He reyseth vp the poore out of the duste, and lyfteth vp the begger from the dong hill: to set them among princes, and to enheret them with the seate of glory. For the pyllers of the earth are the Lordes, and he hath set the rounde worlde vpon them.

⁷ He stretched oute the north ouer the emptie, & hangeth the earth vpon nothinge.

² For he hath founded it vpon the seas, and buylded it vpon the floudes.

¹ The Lorde is kyng, and hath put on glorious apparell, the Lorde hath put on his apparell, & gyrded him selfe with strengthe: he hath made the rounde world so sure, that it can not be moued.

²² The same stone whych the builders refused, is become the heade stone in the corner

¹² That oure sonnes maye growe vp as the yong plantes, & that our daughters may be as the polyshed corners of the temple.

¹⁶ Therfore sayth the Lorde God: Beholde, I wyll laye a stone in Syon a great stone, a costly corner stone for a sure foundacyon: that who so putteth hys truste in hym, shall not be confounded.

¹ The heauy burthen which the lord hath deuised for Israel. Thus saieth the lord, which spred the heauens abroade, layde the foundacyon of the earth, and geueth man the breath of lyfe:

²⁰ and are buylt vpon the foundation of the Apostles & Prophetes, Iesus Christe beynge the head corner stone, ²¹ in whom euerye buyldinge coupled together, groweth vnto an holye temple in the Lorde,

⁵ This they knowe not (and that willinglie) howe that the heauens a greate whyle ago were, & the earth that was in the water, appered vp out of the water by the worde of God,

¹¹ And they sange together, geuynge prayse and thankes vnto the Lorde, because he is gracyous, and because hys mercy endureth for euer vpon Israel. And all the people shouted loude in praysing the Lorde, because the foundacyon of the house of the Lorde was layd. ¹² Many also of the old pryestes and Leuites and auncyent fathers, whyche had sene the fyrst house: when the foundacion of thys house was layed before their eyes, wepte wyth a loud voice. And many shouted with ioye,

⁶ Now vpon a tyme, when the seruauntes of God came & stode before the Lord, Sathan came also amonge them.

¹ It happened also vpon a tyme, that when the seruauntes of God came & stode before the Lorde, Sathan came amonge them, and stode before hym.

⁴ Thou makest thyne aungels sprites, and thy ministers flammes of fyre.

⁷ What art thou, thou greate mountayne, before Zorobabel: thou must be mayde euen. And he shall brynge vp the fyrst stone, so that men shall crye vnto hym: good lucke, good lucke.

²⁸ so wyll I geue him, the morninge starre.

¹¹ And I behelde, and I heard the voyce of many angels about the throne, and about the beastes, and the elders, and I heard thousande thousandes,

¹⁶ I Iesus sent myne angell, to testifye vnto you these thinges in the congregacyons. I am the rote and the generacion of Dauid and the bryghte mornyng starre.

⁹ And God sayde: let the waters that are vnder heauen gather them selues vnto one place, that the drye lande may appere. And it came so to passe.

¹⁰ when I gaue it my commaundement, makynge dores & barres for it,

⁷ He gathereth the waters together as it were in a bottell, and layeth vp the depe in secret.

⁸ (Then are the hylles sene alofte, and the valleis beneth in their place which thou hast appoynted for them.) ⁹ Thou hast set them their boundes, which they maye not passe, that they turne not agayne to couer the earth.

²² Feare ye not me, sayeth the Lorde? Are ye not ashamed, to loke me in the face? which bynde the sea wyth the sande, so that it can not passe hys boundes: For thoughe it rage, yet can it do nothynge, and thoughe the waues thereof do swell, yet maye they not go ouer.

² The erth was voyde and empty, and darcknesse was vpon the depe, and the spirite of God moued vpon the water.

⁹ And God sayde: let the waters that are vnder heauen gather them selues vnto one place, that the drye lande may appere. And it came so to passe. ¹⁰ And GOD called the drye lande the erth, and the gatheryng together of waters called he the sea. And God sawe that it was good.

¹⁵ And then wyll I thinke vpon my testament whych I haue made betwene me and you, and all that lyueth whatsoeuer fleshe it be. So that henceforth there shall be no more waters to make a floude to destroy all fleshe.

¹⁰ He hath compaseth the waters wt certayne boundes, vntill the day and night come to an ende.

⁹ Thou hast set them their boundes, which they maye not passe, that they turne not agayne to couer the earth.

²² In all these thynges dyd Iob not offende, ner murmured folyshye agaynst God.

⁶ Then sayde the Lorde vnto Sathan: lo, there hast thou hym in thy power, but spare his lyfe.

⁶ Which in his strength setteth fast the mountaynes, and is gyrded aboute wyth power. ⁷ Which stilleth the ragynge of the sea, the roarynge of his waues, and the woodnes of the people.

¹⁰ When thou punyshest one man, he muste knowledge that thou arte readye to punyshe other mo.

⁹ Thou rulest the pryde of the sea, thou stillest the waues therof, when they aryse.

³ The floudes aryse (O Lorde) the floudes lyft vp their noyse, the floudes lyfte vp theyr waues. ⁴ The waues of the sea are mightye, & rage horribly: but yet the Lorde that dwelled on hye, is mightier.

⁸ Euery man recompenseth with the measure that he receyueth: He museth vpon hys sore wynde, as vpon the dayes of extreame heate.

³⁹ And he rose vp, and rebuked the wynd and sayed vnto the sea: peace and be styll. And the wynde alayed, and there folowed a great calme. ⁴⁰ And he sayde vnto them: Why are ye so fearfull? howe is it that ye haue no faythe? ⁴¹ And they feared excedynglye, and sayed one to another: What felowe is thys. For both wynde and sea obeye hym.

³² And there was therby an hearde of manie swine, feadinge on an hyl: and they besought him, that he woulde suffer them to enter into them. And he suffred. ³³ Then wente the deuyls out of the man, and entred into the swine: and the hearde toke their course, and ranne headlinge into the lake, and were choked.

² And he toke the dragon that olde serpent which is the deuyl and Satanas, & he bound him a thousand yeares: ³ and cast him into the botomles pyt, and he bounde hym, and set a seale on him, that he shuld deceyue the people nomore, tyl the thousand yeares were fulfilled. And after that he must be loused for a lytle season.

⁷ And when the thousand yeres are expired, Sathan shal be loused out of hys pryson, ⁸ & shal go out to deceiue the people which are in the four quarters of the earthe Gog & Magog, to gether them together to battayle, whose nomber is as the sande of the sea,

⁵ & called the lyght the daye, & the darcknesse the nyght: and so of the euenyng & mornyng was made the fyrst daye.

⁹ Namelye, that we are but of yester daye, and consydre not, that oure dayes vpon earth are but a very shadowe.

⁷ Art thou the first man, that euer was borne? Or, wast thou made befoore the hilles?

⁴ Where wast thou, when I layde the foundacyons of the earth? Tel planely yf thou hast vnderstandyng.

²¹ Knewest thou (when thou wast borne) how olde thou shuldest be?

¹⁶ The daye is thyne, and the nyght is thine thou hast prepared the lightes and the sunne.

⁷ Whych hath made great lyghtes, for hys mercy endureth for euer. ⁸ The sunne to rule the daye, for hys mercy endureth for euer.

³ Prayse hym Sunne and Moone, prayse hym all ye starres and light. ⁴ Prayse hym all ye heauens, and ye waters that be vnder the heauens. ⁵ Let them prayse the name of the Lorde, for he commaunded, and they were made.

⁷⁸ Through the tender mercye of our God, wherby the daye sprynge from on hye hath vysyted vs.

¹⁹ We haue also a ryght sure worde of prophesye, whervnto yf ye take hede, as vnto a light, that shineth in a darcke place, ye do wel vntyll the daye dawne, and the daye starre aryse in youre hertes.

²⁷ Than stretched forth Moses hys hande ouer the sea, & it came agayne to hys course early in the mornyng, & the Egypcians fledd agaynste it. Thus the Lorde ouerthrewe the Egypcians in the myddest of the sea,

¹³ where as they (notwithstandinge) are rebellious and disobedient enemies: whiche seke not his lyghte and waye, nor turne agayne into hys pathe. ¹⁴ Tymely in the mornynge do they aryse, to murthur the simple and poore, & in the night they go a stealynge. ¹⁵ The eye of the vngodly is lyke the aduouterer, that wayteth for the darckenesse, & sayeth thus in hym selfe: Tush, there shall no man se me, & so he disgyseth his face. ¹⁶ In the nighte ceason they searche the houses, and hyd them selues in the day tyme, but wyll not knowe the light. ¹⁷ For as sone as the daye breaketh, the shadow of death commeth vpon them, & they go in horrible darcknesse.

³ He gouerneth euery thing vnder the heauen, & his lyghte reacheth vnto the ende of the worlde.

⁴ Their sounde is gone oute into all landes, and their wordes into the endes of the worlde. ⁵ In them hathe he sette a tabernacle for the Sunne, whych commeth forthe as a brydegrome out of his chamber, and reioyseth as a giaunt to runne his course. ⁶ It goeth forth from the one ende of the heauen, and runneth aboute vnto the same ende agayne, and there maye no man hyde hym selfe from the heate therof.

²¹ Yea, and the yonge lyons which roare after their praye, and seke their meate at God. ²² But when the sunne aryseth, they get them awaye together, and lye them doune in their dennes.

³⁵ As for synners, they shalbe consumed out of the earth, and the vngodlye shall come to an ende: but prayse thou the Lorde, O my soule. Prayse the euerlastynge.

⁹ If I take the wynges of the mornynge, & remayne in the vttermost parte of the sea: ¹⁰ Euen there also shall thy hande leade me, and thy right hand shall holde me. ¹¹ If I saye: peraduenture the darkenesse shall couer me, then shall my nyghte be turned to daye. ¹² Yea, the darkenesse is no darkenesse with the, but the nyght is as cleare as the day, the darkenesse and light are both a lyke.

² Thou deckest thy self with light, as it were with a garment, thou spredest out the heauen lyke a curtayne.

⁶ Thou couerest it with the depe lyke as wt a garmente, so that the waters stande aboue the hylles.

²¹ And the Lord sayd vnto Moses: Stretch out thy hand vnto heauen, & let ther be darcknesse vpon the land of Egypt: euen that they may fele the darckenes. ²² And Moyses stretched forth hys hand vnto heauen, & ther was a thycke darckenes vpon al the land of Egipt .iij. dayes long, ²³ so that no man sawe another neither rose vp from the place wher he was by the space of .iij. dayes, but al the chyldren of Israel had light wher they dwelled.

¹⁸ And when the soudyars came doune to him: Elizeus prayed vnto the Lorde & sayde. Smyte thys people wyth blyndnesse. And he smote them wyth blyndnes accordyng to the desyre of Elizeus.

¹⁴ In so much that they runne into darcknesse by fayre daye, & grope aboute them at the none daye, lyke as in the nyght.

⁵ Shall not the lyght of the vngodly be put oute? yee the flame of hys fyre shall not burne.

¹⁸ he shalbe dryuen from the lyght into darcknesse, and be cast cleane out of the world.

¹⁵ Breake thou the arme of the vngodly and malycyous, search out the wickednes which he hath done, that he maye perysh.

¹⁷ For the armes of the vngodly shalbe broken, but the Lorde vpholdeth the ryghteous.

¹⁹ But the waye of the vngodly is as the darcknes, wherin men fal, or thei be aware.

²¹ Yf he do not thys, he stombleth & suffereth hunger. And yf he suffre hunger, he is out of pacience, and blasphemeth hys kynge and his God. Then loketh he vpwarde, and dounewarde to the earthe, ²² and beholde, there is trouble & darcknesse, vexacyon is rounde aboute him, and the cloude of erroure. And oute of suche aduersitie, shall he not escape.

¹⁶ Honoure the Lorde youre God herein, or he take hys lyght from you, and or euer youre fete stomble in darcknesse at the hylle lest when ye loke for the lyght, he turne it into the shadowe and darcknesse of death.

²² Therfore, thus sayth the Lorde God: Beholde, I wyl vpon Pharao the kynge of Egypte, and bruse hys strong arme (yet is it but a broken one) & wyl smyte the swearde oute of hys hande.

¹⁰ & sayde. O full of all subteltie and disseytfulnes the chylde of the deuyll, and the enemye of all ryghteousnes, thou ceasest not to peruerte the strayghte wayes of the Lorde. ¹¹ And nowe beholde the hande of the Lorde is vpon the, and thou shalbe blynde, and not se the sunne for a season. And immediatlye there fell on hym a myste and a darcknes, and he wente about sekynge them that shoulde leade hym by the hande.

⁵ The gyauntes & worthies that are slayne, and lye vnder the worlde with their companions: ⁶ yea & all they which dwell beneth in the hell are not hid from him, and the very destruccion it selfe can not be kepte oute of his sighte.

¹⁹ Thy waye was in the sea, and thy pathes in the greate waters, yet coulde noman know thy fotesteppes.

²⁴ When I was borne, there were nether depthes nor springs of water.

³⁶ Therfore thus sayth the Lorde: Beholde, I wyll defende thy cause, and auenge the: I wil dryncke vp her sea, and drye vp her water springes.

⁵ but be couered with darcknesse, & the shadowe of death. Let the dymme cloude fall vpon it, & let it be lapped in with sorow.

²² Loke what lyeth hyd in darcknesse, he declareth it openly: and the very shadowe of death bringet he to lyght.

¹³ Haue mercy vpon me (O Lord) considre the trouble that I am in amonge myne enemyes, thou that liftest me vp from the gates of death.

⁴ Though I should walke now in the valley of the shadow of death, yet I feare not euel for thou arte with me: thy staffe & thy shepehoke comforte me.

¹⁰ Such as sat in darkenesse and in the shadow of death, beyng fast bounde in mysery and yron.

¹⁴ He brought them out of darkenesse & oute of the shadow of death, & brake their bondes in sonder.

¹⁸ Their soule abhorred all maner of meate, they were euen harde at deaths dore.

³ The snares of death compased me round aboute, the paynes of hell gat hold vpon me I founde trouble and heauynesse.

⁸ The Lorde maketh the seuen starres and the Dryons, he turneth the nighte into daye, and of the daye he maketh darcknesse. He calleth the waters of the sea, and poureth them oute vpon the playne grounde: the Lorde is hys name:

¹⁶ the people which sate in darkenes, sawe great light, & to them which sate in the regyon and shadowe of death, light is begonne to shine.

²⁴ For he beholdeth the endes of the world & loketh vpon al that is vnder heauen.

¹⁷ Thou hast set all the borders of the earth, thou hast made both sommer and winter.

¹¹ The heauens are thine, the earth is thine: thou hast layed the foundation of the rounde world, and al that therin is. ¹² Thou hast made the north and the south, Tabor and Hermon shal reioyse in thy name

²⁸ Knowest thou not, or hast thou not hearde, that the euerlastynge God the Lorde whiche made all the corners of the earth, is nether weery nor faynt, & that his wysdome can not be comprehended,

³⁷ Moreouer, thus sayeth the Lorde: lyke as the heauen aboue can not be measured, and as the foundacyons of the earth beneth may not be soughte oute: So will I also not caste oute the whole sede of Israell, for that they haue committed. sayeth the Lorde.

⁹ & they went vpon the playne of the earth, & compassed the tentes of the saynctes about & the beloued cytye. And fyre came doune from God, out of heauen, & deuoured them:

³ Than God sayd: let there be light: & there was lyght. ⁴ And God sawe the lyght that it was good: & deuyded the lyght from the darcknesse,

¹⁴ Than sayde God: let there be lightes in the fyrmament of heauen, to deuyde the day from the nyght, that they may be vnto sygnes, seasons, dayes and yeares. ¹⁵ And let them be lyghtes in the fyrmament of heauen, to shyne vpon the erth: And so it was. ¹⁶ And God made two greate lyghtes: A greater lyght to rule the daye, and a lesse lyght to rule the nyght: and he made sterres also. ¹⁷ And God put them in the fyrmament of heauen to shyne vpon the erth, ¹⁸ and to rule the daye and the nyght: and to deuyde the lyght from darcknesse. And God sawe that it was good:

¹⁹ Yea, & least thou lyfte vp thyne eye vnto heauen, & when thou seist the sunne and the mone and the starres and whatsoeuer is contained in heauen, shouldest be deceyued and shouldest bowe thy selfe to them and serue the thynges whych the Lord thy God hathe distributed vnto all nations that are vnder al quarters of heauen.

¹² Haste thou geuen the mornyng his charge (as sone as thou wast borne) and shewed the daye sprynge his place, ¹³ that it might take holde of the corners of the earthe, & that the vngodlye myght be shaken out?

¹¹ He made darcknesse his pauylion rounde aboute hym, wyth darcke water and thycke cloudes to couer him.

²⁰ Thou makest darkenesse, that it maye be night, wherin all the beastes of the forest do moue.

²⁸ He sente darcknesse and it was darcke, for they were not obedyent vnto hys worde.

⁷ It is I that created the lyght and darcknes, I make peace & trouble yee euen I the Lorde do all these thinges.

⁸ All the lyghtes of heauen wyll I put oute ouer the, and brynge darckenesse vpon thy lande, sayeth the Lorde God.

¹³ For lo, he maketh the mountaynes, he ordeyneth the wynde, he sheweth man what he is aboute to do: he maketh the mornynge & the darcknesse: he treadeth vpon the hye places of the earthe: the Lorde God of hostes is hys name.

⁴⁵ From the syxte houre was there darcknes ouer all the lande vnto the ninthe houre.

⁹ That was a true lyght, which lyghted all men that come into the worlde.

¹² Then spake Iesus agayne vnto them, saiynge. I am the lyghte of the worlde. He that foloweth me, shall not walke in darkenes: but shall haue the lyghte of lyfe.

¹⁹ And the costes of the Cananites were from Sydon tyll thou come to Gerara & to Asa, & tyl thou come to Sodoma, Gomorra, Adama, Zeboim, euen vnto Lasa.

¹⁷ Thus was the felde of Ephron where in the dubbyl caue is before Mamre: euen the felde and the caue that is therin and al the trees of the feld which growe in al the borders round about, made sur

¹² Haste thou geuen the mornyng his charge (as sone as thou wast borne) and shewed the daye sprynge his place,

¹⁶ But they that feare the hore frost, the snowe shall fall vpon them.

⁶ When he commaundeth the snow, it falleth vpon the earth: As sone as he geueth the rayne a charge, ymmedyatly the showers haue theyr strength, & fall doune.

⁷ He bryngeth forth the cloudes from the endes of the worlde, he turneth the lyghtenynges vnto rayne, bryngynge the wyndes out of their treasuryes.

¹⁸ beholde, to morow this tyme I wyl send down a mighty great hayle: euen such one as was not in Egipt sence it was grounded vnto this time

²⁴ that there was hayle & fyre mingled with the hayle, so greauouse, that there was none suche in all the Lande of Egypte, sence people inhabited it.

¹¹ And as they flede from Israel, euen in the goynge doune to Bethoron, the Lorde caste doune great stones from heauen vpon them vntyll they came vnto Esaka, that they dyed. And there were mo that dyed wyth hayle stones, then the chyldren of Israell slewe wyth the swerde.

¹³ As for suche as be fayned, dissemblers and ypocrytes, they heape vp wrath for them selues: for they call not vpon him, though they be hys presoners.

³¹ By these thinges gouerneth he hys people, and geueth them aboundaunce of meate.

³⁰ The Lorde also shall set vp the power of his voyce, and declare his terryble arme, wyth hys angry countenaunce yea and the flamme of the consumynge fyre, with earthquake, tempest of wynde, and haile stones.

¹¹ Therfore tell them which dawbe it wyth vntempered morter, that it shal fal. For there shal come a great shower of rayne, greate stones shall fall vpon it, and a sore storme of wynde shal breake it, ¹² so shall the wal come doune. Shal it not then be sayde vnto you: where is now the morter, that ye daubed it with all? ¹³ Therfore thus sayth the Lorde God: I wyll breake oute in my wrothfull displeasure with a stormye wynd, so that in myne anger there shall come a myghtye shower of rayne, & hayle stones in my wrath, to destroye withall.

²⁷ and abundance of rayne descended, and the floudes came, and the wyndes blewe and bet vpon that housse, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

²¹ And there fell a greate hayle, as it had bene talentes, out of heauen vpon the men, & the men blasphemed God, because of the plage of the haile, for it was great, & the plage of it sore?

⁸ And when the Sunne was vp God prepared a feruent east wynde: and the Sunne bett ouer the head of Ionas, that he faynted agayne, and wisshed vnto hys soule, that he myght dye, and sayde: It is better for me to dye, then to lyue.

²⁷ For as the lyghteninge cometh out of the east, and shyneth into the west, so shal the comminge of the sonne of man be.

²⁶ when he set the rayne in ordre, and gaue the mighty floudes a lawe?

²⁷ He turneth the water to small droppes, he dryueth hys cloudes ²⁸ to gether for to raygne, so that they poure downe and droppe vpon men.

³ He gouerneth euery thing vnder the heauen, & his lyghte reacheth vnto the ende of the worlde. ⁴ A roarynge voyce foloweth hym: for hys gloryous maiestye geueth suche a thondre clappe, that (though a man heare it) yet may he not perceiue it afterward. It geueth an horryble sounde, ⁵ when God sendeth oute hys voyce: greate thynges doth he, whiche we can not comprehende. ⁶ When he commaundeth the snow, it falleth vpon the earth: As sone as he geueth the rayne a charge, ymmedyatly the showers haue theyr strength, & fall doune.

³ It is the Lorde that commaunded the waters: It is the gloryus God that maketh the thonder: it is the Lorde that ruleth the sea. ⁴ The voyce of the Lorde is mighty in operacyon, the voice of the Lorde is a glorius voyce. ⁵ The voyce of the Lorde breaketh the Cedre trees: yea the Lorde breaketh the Ceders of Libanus. ⁶ He maketh them to skyppe lyke a calfe: Libanus and Sirion lyke a younge vnicorne ⁷ The voyce of the Lorde deuydeth the flames of fyre: ⁸ the voice of the Lorde shaketh the wylderuesse, yea the Lorde shaketh the wildernesse of Cades. ⁹ The voyce of the Lorde moueth the hyndes and discouereth the thicke bushes: in hys temple shall euerye man speake of hys honoure. ¹⁰ The Lord stilleth the water floud, and the Lord remaineth a king for euer.

²⁷ He turneth the water to small droppes, he dryueth hys cloudes

¹⁰ Thou causest the welles to sprynge vp amonge the valleys, and the waters to runne amonge the hylles. ¹¹ That all beastes of the felde maye haue drynke, & that the wilde asses maye quenche their thyrste. ¹² Aboue vpon the hylles haue the foules of the ayre their habitacion, and singe amonge the braunches. ¹³ Thou waterest the hilles from aboue, the earth is filled wt the frutes of thy workes. ¹⁴ Thou bringest forth grasse for the cattell, and grene herbes for the seruice of men. Thou bringest fode out of the earth:

³⁵ Agayn, he maketh the wildernes a standinge water, and water springes of a drye grounde.

⁸ Which couereth the heauen wyth cloudes, prepareth rayn for the earth, & maketh the grasse to growe vpon the mountaynes. ⁹ Which geueth fodre vnto the cattell, and fedeth the yong rauens that call vpon hym.

¹ Bvt the deserte & wyldernes shall reioyse, the waste ground shalbe glad, and florysh as the lylly. ² She shall floryshe pleasauntlye, & be ioyfull, & euer be geuyng of thanckes more and more. For the glory of Libanus, the bewty of Charmel and Saron shalbe geuen her. These shall knowe the honour of the Lorde, and the magestie of oure God.

¹⁸ I bringe forth floudes in the hylle, and welles in the playne feldes. I turne the wildernes to riuers, & the drye lande to condythes of water. ¹⁹ I plante in the waste grounde trees of Cedre, Boxe, Myrre & Olyues. And in the drye I set Fyre trees, Elmes, and Hawthornes together.

¹⁹ Therfore beholde, I shall make a new thynge, & shortly shall it appeare: ye shall well knowe it, I told it you afore, but I wil tel it you agayne. I wyll make stretes in the deserte, & ryuers of water in the wylderne ²⁰ The wylde beastes shall worshyppe me: the dragon, and the Estryche. For I shall geue water in the wyldernesse, and streames in the deserte: that I may geue dryncke to my people, whom I chose.

²² Are there eny amonge the goddes of the Gentiles that sende rayne or geue the showers of heauen? Doest not thou it O Lorde oure God, in whom we trust? Yee Lorde, thou doest all these thinges.

⁷ For that earthe whiche drincketh in the rayne whiche commeth ofte vpon it, and bryngeth forth herbes mete for them that dresse it, receyueth blessynge of God. ⁸ But that ground which beareth thornes and bryars, is reproued, and is nye vnto curssynge: whose ende is to be burned.

¹⁴ Thou bringest forth grasse for the cattell, and grene herbes for the seruice of men. Thou bringest fode out of the earth:

²⁸ God giue the he dewe of heauen, & of the fatnes of the earth, & plenty of corne & wine.

³⁹ Then Isaac his father answered & sayd vnto him: behold thy dwellyng place shall haue of the fatnes of the earth, and of the dewe of heauen from aboue.

¹³ And vnto Ioseph he sayed: blessed of the Lord is hys hand wyth the goodly frutes of heauen, wyth dewe and with sprynges that lie beneath:

²⁸ And Israell shal dwel in safety alone. And the eyes of Iacob shall loke vpon a lande of corne & wyne moreouer his heauen shal droppe with dewe.

¹⁷ is it not now wheteheruest. And yet for al that, I wyl call vnto the Lorde, and he shall sende thunder and rayne. Wherby perceyue and vnderstand how that your wyckednes is great which ye haue done in the syght of the Lorde in askyng you a Kynge. ¹⁸ And when Samuel called vnto the Lorde, the Lorde sent thunder & rayne the same daye. And all the people feared the Lord and Samuel excedynglye.

²¹ Ye mountaynes of Gelboe, vpon you be nether dewe nor raygne, nor feldes whence heaue offerynges come. For there the shyldes of the myghtye were cast from them: the shyld of Saul, as though he had not bene anoynted wyth oyle.

¹ And Eliah the Thesbite whyche was of the enhabiters of Galaad saide vnto Ahab: as truly as the Lorde God of Israel lyueth, before whome I stande, there shal be neyther dewe nor rayne these yeares, saue as I appoynt it.

⁹ which doeth thinges, that are vnsearcheable, and marueles without nombre: ¹⁰ Which geueth rayne vpon the earth, and poureth water vpon all thinges:

¹⁹ For my rote was spred oute by the waterside and the dew lay vpon my corne.

⁸ Who shut the sea with dores, when it brake forth as a chyld oute of his mothers wombe?

⁹ Thou visitest the earth, thou waterest it. and makest it very plenteous. The riuer of god is ful of waters, thou preparest man hys corne, and thus thou prouydeste for the earth. ¹⁰ Thou waters, her forowes, thou breakest the harde clottes thereof, thou makest it softe with the droppes of rayne, and blessest the increase of it.

⁸ Which couereth the heauen wyth cloudes, prepareth rayn for the earth, & maketh the grasse to growe vpon the mountaynes.

²⁰ Thorow hys wysdome the deapthes breake vp, and the cloudes droppe downe of the dewe.

²⁴ They thincke not in theyr hertes: O let vs feare the Lorde oure God, that geueth vs rayne early and late, when nede is, which kepeth euer styll the harueste for vs yearlye.

¹³ At his voyce the waters gather together in the ayre, he draweth vp the cloudes from the vttermoste partes of the earth: he turneth lyghtenyng to rayne, & bryngeth forth the windes oute of theyr treasures:

⁵ Yea, I wolde be vnto Israel as the dewe, and he shulde growe as the lylye, and hys rote shulde breake oute as Lybanus.

²³ Be glad then (O ye chyldren of Syon) & reioyse in the Lorde youre God, for he hathe geuen you a teacher of ryghtuousnes: and he it is that shall sende you doune shuwers of rayne, early and late in the fyrste moueth,

⁷ When here were but thre monethes vnto the haruest I wythhelde the rayne from you: yea I rayned vpon one cytye, and not vpon another, one pece of grounde was moystured wyth rayne, and the grounde that I rayned not vpon was drye.

⁴⁵ that ye may be the chyldren of youre father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sonne to aryse on the yuyll, and on the good and sendeth his raine on the iust and vniust.

¹⁰ At the breth of God, the frost commeth, & the waters are shed abroad.

¹⁶ He geueth snow lyke wolle, & scatereth the hore frost lyke ashes. ¹⁷ He casteth forth hys yse lyke morsels, who is able to abyde hys frost?

⁹ He maketh the vaynes of heauen, the Orions, the .vij. starres and the secrete places of the south.

⁵ And he put doune the Camarites, whyche the kynges of Iuda had set to burne offerynges in the hylaulters in the cities of Iuda round aboute Ierusalem and also them that burnt sacrifices vnto Baal to the sonne and to the mone and to the planetes, and to all the hoste of heauen.

³¹ Haste thou brought the .vij. starres together? Or art thou able to breake the circle of heauen?

¹⁶ And God made two greate lyghtes: A greater lyght to rule the daye, and a lesse lyght to rule the nyght: and he made sterres also.

²² Neyther shal sowynge time and heruest, cold and hete, somer, and wynter, daye and nyghte ceasse, as longe as the earth endureth.

⁹⁰ Thy trueth also remayneth from one generacion to another: thou hast layed the foundacion of the earth, and it abydeth. ⁹¹ They contynue this daye accordinge too thyne ordinaunce, for all thinges serue the.

⁶ He hath made them fast for euer and euer, he hath geuen them a lawe whiche shall not be broken.

³⁵ Thus sayth the Lorde which gaue the sunne to be a lyght for the daye, and the mone and starres to shyne in the night: whiche moueth the sea, so that the floudes thereof waxe fearce: hys name is the Lorde of hostes. ³⁶ Lyke as thys ordynaunce shal neuer be taken out of my sight sayeth the Lorde: So shall the sede of Israell neuer ceasse, but all waye be a people before me.

²⁵ Therfore thus saieth the Lorde: Yf I haue made no couenaunt with day and night, and geuen no statute vnto heauen and earth:

¹⁸ And when Samuel called vnto the Lorde, the Lorde sent thunder & rayne the same daye. And all the people feared the Lord and Samuel excedynglye.

¹¹ Shouldest thou then se no darckenesse? Should not the water floude runne ouer the?

¹ Praye the Lord then by tymes to geue thou the latter rayne, so shall the Lorde make cloudes, & geue you raine ynough, for all the intreace of the felde:

¹⁸ And he prayed againe, and the heauen gaue rayne, and the earthe broughte forth her frute.

²³ And Moses stretched out his rodd vnto heauen, & the Lorde thondered and hayled, so that the fyre ran a longe vpon the ground And the Lord so hayled in the land of Egypt, ²⁴ that there was hayle & fyre mingled with the hayle, so greauouse, that there was none suche in all the Lande of Egypte, sence people inhabited it. ²⁵ And the hayle smote in the lande of Egypte al that was in the fyeld both man and beaste. And the hayle smote al the herbes of the field, and broke al the trees of the felde:

²⁹ And Moyses sayd vnto hym: as sone as I am out of the city, I wyl sprede abrode my handes vnto the Lorde, and the thonder shal cease, neither shal there be any more hayle that thou mayste knowe howe that the earth is the Lordes.

² and ther went a fyre out from the Lord, and consumed them, & they dyed before the Lorde.

¹ And the people complayned & it displeased the eares of the Lorde. And when the lord heard it he was wroth, and the fyre of the Lorde burnt amonge them and consumed the vttermost of the hoste.

³⁵ And there came out a fyre from the Lord and consumed the two hundred and fyftye men that offered cense.

¹² And Saul sayde: heare thou sonne of Ahitob. And he sayde: here I am my Lorde.

¹⁰ And Eliah answered and sayde to the captain ouer the fyfty: yf I be a man of God, fyre come doune from heauen and consume the and thy fifty. And there came fyre doune from heauen, & deuoured him & his fifty.

¹⁴ Beholde, there came fyre doune from heauen & burnt vp the two fore captaynes ouer fifty with their fyfties. But let my lyfe nowe be preciouse in thy syghte.

³² In the turnynge of a hande he hydeth the lyght, & at hys commaundement it commeth agayne.

⁸ After thys I heard the voyce of the Lord takyng aduysement on thys maner: Whome shall I sende, & who wylbe oure messenger? Then I sayde: here am I, sende me.

¹ They shal seke my, that hytherto haue not asked for me: they shall fynde me, that hitherto haue not sought me. Then shal I say immediatly to the people that neuer called vpon my name: I am here, I am here.

⁵ And yf any man wyl hurte them, fire shal proceade out of theyr mouthes, and consume theyr enemyes. And yf anye man wyll hurte them this wyse muste he be killed. ⁶ These haue power to shut heauen, that it rayne not in the daies of they: Prophesiyng, and haue power ouer waters to turne them to bloud, and to smyte the earth wyth al maner plages, as often as they will.

³ And I haue fylled hym wyth the spirite of God, with wysdome, vnderstandynge and knoledge: euen in all maner worke,

¹ And Bezaliel wrought and Ahaliab and all wyse herted men to whom the Lorde had geuen wisedome and vnderstanding to knowe howe to worcke all maner worcke for the holy seruice, in al that the Lorde commaunded. ² And Moses called for Bezaleel Ahaliak and al the wise hered men in whose hertes the Lord had putte wisedome, euen as many as their hertes couraged to come to the worcke to worcke it.

⁴ He is wyse of hert, and myghtie in strength. Who euer prospered, that toke parte against hym?

⁸ Euery man (no doute) hath a mind but it is the inspiracion of the Almyghty that geueth vnderstandynge.

⁶ But lo, thou hast a pleasure in the trueth, and hast shewed me secrete wisdome.

⁶ For it is the Lord that geueth wysdome, out of hys mouth commeth knowlege & vnderstandyng.

²⁶ he geueth vnto man, what it pleaseth him: whether it be wysdome, vnderstandyng, or gladnesse. But vnto the sinner he geueth werines and sorow that he may gather and heape togather the thing that afterward shalbe geuen vnto him whom it pleaseth God. This is now a vayne thynge yea a very disquietnes and vexacion of mind

²⁶ And that he maye do it ryght, hys God teacheth hym and sheweth hym.

⁵ Yf anye of you lacke wysedome, let hym axe of God whiche geueth to all men indyfferentlye, and casteth no man in the teath: and it shal be geuen hym.

¹⁷ Euery good gyfte, and euerye perfecte gyfte, is from aboue and commeth doune from the father of lyght wyth whome is no varyablenes, neyther is he chaunged vnto darkenes.

¹ And God remembred Noe & al the beastes & al the catel that were with him in the arck. And God made a wynde to blowe vpon the erth, & the waters ceased:

⁵ And he brought him out of the dores, & sayd: loke vp vnto heauen, & tel the stars, if thou be able to numbre them. And said vnto hym: Euen so shal thy sede be.

⁴ He telleth the numbre of the starres, and calleth them all by their names.

¹⁰ The roarynge of the lyon, the voyce of the lyonesse, and the teeth of the lyons whelpes are broken ¹¹ The lyon perissheth, for lacke of praye & the lyons whelpes are scatered abrode.

¹⁰ The ryche shall wante and suffre hunger, but they which seke the Lord, shal want no maner of thyng, that is good.

²¹ Yea, and the yonge lyons which roare after their praye, and seke their meate at God.

¹⁵ The eyes of all wayte vpon the, and thou geuest them their meate in due season. ¹⁶ Thou openest thyne hande, and fyllest all thinges liuing with plenteousnesse.

⁹ Iuda is a lyons whelpe, From spoyle my sonne thou art come an hye: he layde hym doune and couched hym selfe as a lyon, and as a lionesse. Who dare stere hym vp?

²⁴ Behold the people shall ryse vp as a lyonesse and heaue vp him selfe as a lyon, & shall not lye downe agayne, vntyl he haue eaten of the praye and dronke of the bloud of them that are slayne.

⁹ He touched hym selfe & laye downe as a lyon and as a lyones, who shall sterre him vp, blessed is he that blesseth the, & cursed is he that curseth the.

⁸ The beastes crepe into theyr dennes, and take theyr reste.

²⁷ They wayte all vpon the, that thou mayest geue them meate in due season. ²⁸ When thou geuest it them, they gather it: when thou openest thyne hande, they are filled with good.

⁹ Which geueth fodre vnto the cattell, and fedeth the yong rauens that call vpon hym.

²⁶ Behold the foules of the ayer: for the sowe not, neyther reape, nor yet cary into the barnes: and yet your heauenlye father fedethe them. Are ye not muche better then they?

²⁴ Consyder the rauens, for they neyther sowe, nor repe, which neyther haue store house nor barne, and yet God fedeth them. Howe muche are ye better then the fowles.
