⁷ But vpon the nexte morowe agaynst thespring of the daye. The Lord ordened a worme which smote the wylde vyne, so that it wethered awaye.

²¹ and sayde: Naked came I out of my mothers wombe, & naked shall I turne thether agayne. The Lorde gaue, and the Lord hath taken awaye now blessed be the name of the Lorde.

⁶ As for me, when I was in prosperytye, I sayd: Tush I shal neuer fall more. ⁷ And why? thou Lord of thy goodnesse hadest made my hyll so stronge. But as soone as thou turnedest thy face fro me, I was brought in feare.

⁵ As sone as thou scatrest them, they are euen as a slepe, & fade awaye sodenly like the grasse. ⁶ In the mornyng it is grene and groweth vp, but in the euenynge it is cut doune and wythered.

¹⁰ And that because of thyne indignacion & wrath, for thou hast taken me vp, and caste me awaye.

⁶ The same voyce spake: Now crye. And I sayde: what shall I crye? Then spake yt: that all flesh is grasse, and that all the bewtye therof, is as the floure of the felde. ⁷ When the grasse is withered, the floure falleth awaye. Euen so is the people as grasse, when the breath of the Lorde bloweth vpon them. ⁸ Neuerthelesse whether the grasse wyther, or the floure fade awaye: Yet the worde of oure God endureth for euer. Moreouer the voyce cried thus:

¹² The grape gatherers shall make greate mone, when the vyneyard & figgetrees be so vtterly wasted. Yea all the pomgarnettes, palmetrees, appeltrees & the other trees of the felde shall wyther awaye. Thus the mery cheare of the chyldren of men, shall come to confusyon.
