⁴⁷ Wherfore I saye vnto the manye synnes are forgeuen her, for she loued much. To whom lesse is forgeuen, the same doth lesse loue.

⁶ And when the Lord walked before him, he cried: Lord Lord God full of compassion and mercy, which are not lightly angry but abundaunt in mercy and truth, ⁷ and kepest mercye in store for thousandes, & forgeueste wyckednes, trespace, and synne (for there is no man innocent before the) and vysitest the wyckednes of the father vpon the chyldren and vpon chyldrens chyldren, euen vnto the thyrd and fourth generation.

¹⁸ Nowe go to (sayth the Lorde) we will talke together. Is it not so? Thoughe youre synnes be as reade as scarlet, shal they not be whyther then snowe? And though they were lyke purple, shall they not be lyke white wolle?

⁷ Let the vngodly man forsake his wayes & the vnrighteous his ymaginacions, & turne agayne vnto the Lorde: so shall he be mercyfull vnto him: & to oure God, for he is redy to forgeue.

⁶³ that thou mayest thyncke vpon it, be ashamed, and excuse thine owne confusyon no more: when I haue forgeuen the, all that thou hast done, sayeth the Lorde God.

²⁹ I wyll helpe you out of all youre vnclennesse. I wyll call for the corne, & will increase it, & wyll let you haue no honger. ³⁰ I wyll multiplye the fruites of the trees & the increase of the felde for you, so that ye shall beare no more reprofe of honger amonge the Heathen. ³¹ Then shall ye remembre your, owne wicked wayes, & youre ymagynacyons, whiche were not good: so that ye shall take displeasure at youre owne selues, by reason of youre synnes & abhominacyons. ³² But I wyll not do this for youre sakes (sayeth the Lorde God) be ye sure of it. Therfore, O ye house of Israell, be ashamed of your synnes.

¹⁹ he shal turne agayne, and be mercyfull to vs: he shall put doune oure wyckednesses, and caste all oure synnes into the botome of the sea.

³⁷ He that loueth hys father, or mother more then me, is not mete for me. And he that loueth hys sonne or doughter more then me, is not mete for me.

²⁰ When he sawe their faith, he sayed to him: man, thy sinnes are forgeuen the. ²¹ And the scribes and pharyseis began to thinke saiynge: What felowe is this which speaketh blasphemy? who can forgeue synnes but God onlye?

³⁹ When the pharysey which bade him, sawe that he speake within him selfe saiyng. If this man were a Prophete, he woulde surely haue knowen who and what maner woman this is which toucheth him, for she is a synner.

⁴² When they had nothinge to paye, he forgaue them both. Which of them tell me, wyll loue him most. ⁴³ Simon aunswered and saide: I suppose, that he to whom he forgaue moste. And he sayde vnto hym: Thou haste truly iudged.

¹⁵ When they had dyned. Iesus sayd to Simon Peter: Simon Ioanna, louest thou me more then these? He sayd vnto him: ye Lorde thou knowest that I loue the. He saide vnto him: fede me lambes. ¹⁶ He saied to him again the seconde tyme? Simon Ioanna, louest thou me? He saied vnto him: yea Lorde thou knowest that I loue the. He saied vnto him: fede me shepe: ¹⁷ He saied vnto him the thyrde tyme: Simon Ioanna, louest thou me? And Peter sorowed, because he saied to him the thirde time, louest thou me, and said vnto him: Lord, thou knowest all thinge: thou knowest that I loue the. Iesus sayd vnto him: fede me shepe.

³¹ Hym hath God lyfte vp with his ryght hand to be a ruler and a sauiour, for to geue repentaunce to Israell and forgeuenes of synnes?

²⁰ But the law in the meane tyme entred in, that sinne should encreace. Neuerthelater where aboundaunce of synne was, there was more plentuousnes of grace,

⁹ Do ye not remembre, howe that the vnrightuous shall not inheret the kyngdome of God? Be not deceyued. For neither fornicatours, neither worshipers of ymages, neither whormongers, neyther weaklinges, neither abusers of them selues wyth the mankynde, ¹⁰ neither theues, neythe couetous, neither dronkardes, neither cursed speakers, neither pyllars, shall inherete the kyngedome of God. ¹¹ And suche were ye verelye, but ye are washed, ye are sanctifyed, ye are iustifyed by the name of the Lorde Iesus, and by the spyryte of our God.

¹⁴ For the loue of Christ constrayneth vs, because we thus iudge, yf one be dead, for all that then are all dead,

⁶ For in Iesu Christ nether is circumcysion any thing worth, neyther yet vncircumcysyon, but fayth which by loue is myghtye in operacyon.

²⁴ Grace be with al them whiche loue oure Lorde Iesus Christe in purenes. Amen.

⁹ And this I praye, that youre loue maye increase more and more in knowledge, and in al fealinge,

¹⁴ Neuerthelater the grace of oure Lorde was more aboundaunt wyth fayth and loue whiche is in Christ Iesu.

⁷ but and yf we walke (in light) euen as he is in lighte, then haue we felowshyppe wyth hym, and the bloude of Iesus Christe his sonne clenseth vs from all sinne.

¹⁸ My babes, let vs not loue in worde neyther in tonge, but wyth the dede and in veryty:

¹⁹ We loue him, for he loued vs fyrste.

³ This is the loue of God, that we kepe his commaundementes, and his commaundementes are not greuous.
