²⁰ And in the mornynge as they passed by, they sawe the fygge tree dryed vp by the rotes.

¹⁶ Hys rotes shalbe dryed vp beneth, and aboue shall his haruest be cutt downe. ¹⁷ Hys remembraunce shall perish from the earth, & hys name shall not be praysed in the stretes:

⁵ the prayse of the vngodlye hath bene shorte, and that the ioye of ypocrites continued but the twyncklyng of an eye? ⁶ Though he be magnifyed vp to the heauen, so that his heade reacheth vnto the cloudes: ⁷ yet he perisheth at the laste lyke dounge: In so moche that they which haue sene hym, saye: Where is he?

⁴ What more coulde haue bene done for it, that I haue not done? Wherfore then hath it geuen thornes, where I loked to haue had grapes of it?

²⁴ so that they be not planted nor sowen agayne, nether theyr stocke roted agayne in the earth? For as sone as he bloweth vpon them, they wither & fade awaye, lyke the strawe in a whyrle wynde.

⁶ & when the sunne was vp, it caughte heate, and for lacke of rotynge wyddred awaye.

¹³ He aunswered and sayd: al plantes whiche my heauenly father hath not planted, shalbe plucked vp by the rootes.

¹⁹ and spyed a fygge tree in the waye, and came to it, and found nothynge thereon, but leaues onely, and sayed to it, neuer frute growe on the hence forwardes. And anone the figge tre wyddered away ²⁰ And when hys disciples sawe that, they marueyled sayinge: How sone is the fygge tree wyddered awaye? ²¹ Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them: Verelye I say vnto you: if ye shal haue fayth, and shall not dout ye shall not onely do that which I haue done to the fygge tree but also yf ye shall saye vnto thys mountayne, take thy selfe awaye and cast thy selfe into the sea it shall be done. ²² And whatsoeuer ye shall axe in prayer (yf ye beleue) ye shall receyue it.

¹⁴ And Iesus aunswered & sayd to it: neuer man eate frute of the here after whyle the world standeth. And hys discyples hearde it.

⁶ Yf a man byde not in me, he is cast forth as a braunche, and is wythered: and men gather it, and cast it into the fyre, and it burneth.

⁸ But that ground which beareth thornes and bryars, is reproued, and is nye vnto curssynge: whose ende is to be burned.

¹² These are spottes which of youre kyndnes feast together, wythoute feare, fedyng themselues. Cloudes they are wythout water, caryed aboute of wyndes, and trees wythout frute at gatherynge tyme, twyse dead & plucked vp by rotes.
