³ and sent forth hys seruauntes to call them that were byd to the wedding, & they woulde not come.

¹³ When ye be come into the citie, so shall you fynd hym, yer he go vp to the hil to eate: for the people wyll not eate vntyll he come, because he must blesse the offeryng. And then eate they that be bidden to the feaste. Nowe therfore get you vp for euen now shal ye fynd hym.

¹¹ The Lorde shall geue the worde, wyth great hostes of Euangelystes.

¹⁰ I am the Lord thy God, which broughte the out of the lande of Egipt, open thy mouth wyde, and I shall fyll it. ¹¹ But my people wolde not heare my voice and Israel wolde not obey me. ¹² So I gaue them vp vnto their owne hertes luste, and let them folowe theyr owne ymaginacions.

²⁴ Seing then that I haue called & ye refused it: I haue stretched out my hand, & no man regarded it, ²⁵ but all my counsayls haue ye despysed, & set my corrections at naught. ²⁶ Therfore shall I also laugh in your destruccion, & mocke you, when the thyng that ye feare cometh vpon you: ²⁷ euen when the thing that ye be afrayed of, falleth in sodenly lyke a storme, & your miseri like a tempest: yea, when trouble & heuinesse commeth vpon you. ²⁸ Then shal they call vpon me, but I will not heare: they shal seke me early, but thei shal not find me: ²⁹ And that because thei hated knowlege, & receyued not the feare of the Lord, ³⁰ but abhorred my counsail, & despised my correction. ³¹ Therfore shal they eate the frutes of their owne way, & be filled with their oune counsayls: ³² for the turning away of the vnwyse shal sley them, & the prosperitie of foles shalbe their owne destruccion.

¹ Wysdome hath buylded her selfe an house, & hewen out seuen pyllers: ² she hath kylled her vitayles, poured out her wyne, & prepared her table. ³ She hath sent forth her maydens to crye vpon the hyest place of the citie:

¹⁵ For the Lorde God, euen the holy one of Israell hath promysed thus: Wyth styll syttynge and rest shall ye be healed, in quyetnesse & hope shall youre strength lye.

¹ Come to the waters all ye, that be thurstye, & ye that haue no money. Come, bye, that ye maye haue to eate. Come bye wine & mylcke, without any money or money worth. ² Wherfore do ye laye oute youre moneye, for the thing that fedeth not, and spende youre laboure aboute the thynge that satisfyed you not. But herken rather vnto me, & ye shall eate of the beste, & youre soule shall haue her pleasure in plentuousnes.

¹⁶ Thus sayth the Lorde: go into the streates considre and make inquisicion for the old way and yf it be the good and right waye, then go therein, that ye maye fynde rest for your soules. But they saye: we wyll not walcke therin ¹⁷ and I wil set watchemen ouer you, & therfore take hede vnto the voyce of the trompet. But they saye: we wyll not take hede.

⁴ Though the Lorde hath sent his seruauntes, all the prophetes vnto you in season: Yet wolde ye not obeye, ye wolde not enclyne youre eares to heare.

¹⁵ Yea, I haue sent my seruauntes, al the prophetes vnto you, I rose vp early, and sent you worde, sayinge: O turne you, euery man from his wicked waye: amende your lyues, and go not after straunge Goddes, to worshyppe them, that ye may contynue in the land which I haue geuen vnto you & your fathers but ye would neither heare me, nor folow me.

² But the more they were called the more they went backe, offeringe vnto Idols, and ceasinge Images.

⁷ My people had no lust to turne vnto me, their prophetes laye the yocke vpon them, but they ease them not of their burthen.

⁷ Be styll at the presence of the Lorde God, for the daye of the Lorde is at hande: yea the Lorde hath prepareth a slayne offerynge, and called hys gestes therto.

² saying: Repent the kingdome of heauen is at hande.

⁶ But go rather to the lost shepe of the house of Israel. ⁷ Go and preache sayinge: that the kingdome of heauen is at hande.

³⁴ And when the tyme of the frute drewe neare, he sente hys seruauntes to the husbandmen to receyue the fruytes of it.

³⁷ Ierusalem, Ierusalem which killest prophetes, and stone them which are sent to the: howe often would I haue gathered thy children together: as the henne gathered her chikens vnder her winges, but ye would not.

⁷ And he called the .xij. and began to sende them, two and two, and gaue them power ouer vncleane spirites. ⁸ And commaunded them, that they should take nothinge vnto their iorney saue a rod onely: Neyther scrippe, neither bread, neither money in their pourses: ⁹ but shoulde be shood wyth sandals. And that they should not put on two cootes. ¹⁰ And he sayde vnto them: wheresoeuer ye enter into an house, there abide till ye departe thence. ¹¹ And whosoeuer shal not receyue you nor heare you, when ye departe thence, shake of the dust: that is vnder your fete, for a witnesse vnto them. I say verely vnto you, it shalbe easier for Zodome and Gomoree at the daye of iudgement, then for that citie.

¹ Then called he the .xij. together, and gaue them power, and authoryte ouer all Deuyls, and that they myght heale diseases. ² And he sent them to preache the kyngdome of God, and to cure the sycke. ³ And he sayed to them: Take nothinge to sucker you by the waye neither staffe, nor scrype, neyther bread neyther money, neither haue .ij. cotes. ⁴ And whatsoeuer house ye enter into, there abyde and thence departe: ⁵ And whosoeuer wyll not receyue you, when ye go out of that cytye shake of the verye dust from your fete, for a testimonye against them. ⁶ And they went out, and went through the tounes, preachyng the gospell: and healynge euerye wher.

³⁴ O Hierusalem, Hierusalem, whiche killest Prophetes, and stonest them that are sent to the: howe often woulde I haue gathered thy chyldren together, as the hen gathered her neste vnder her wynges, but ye would not.

¹⁵ When one of them that sate at meate also hearde that, he sayed vnto hym: happye is he that eateth breade in the kyngdom of God. ¹⁶ Then sayde he to hym. A certayne man ordeyned a greate supper, and bade manye, ¹⁷ & sente hys seruaunte at supper tyme to saye to them that were bydden, come, for all thynges are nowe readye.

²⁸ And he was angrye, and woulde not go in. Then came hys father out, and intreated him

²⁷ Moreouer those myne enemyes which woulde not that I should raigne ouer them, brynge hyther, and slea them before me.

⁴⁰ And yet wyll ye not come to me that ye might haue lyfe.

⁴⁵ When the Iewes saw the people, they were ful of indignacyon & spake agaynste those thynges, whiche were spoken of Paule, speakynge agaynst it, and railynge on it.

²¹ And agaynste Israell he sayth: All daye long haue I stretched forth my handes vnto a people that beleueth not, but speaketh agaynste me.

²⁵ Se that ye despyse not hym, that speaketh. For yf they escaped not whiche refused hym, that spake on earth: muche more shall we not escape, yf we turne awaye from hym that speaketh from heauen:

¹⁷ And the spiryte and the bride said: come. And let him that heareth, saye also come. And let hym that is a thyrste, come. And let whosoeuer wyll, take of the water of lyfe, fre.
