⁵ For many shal come in my name sayng: I am Christe: and shall deceyue many.

¹⁴ And the Lorde sayde vnto me: The prophetes preach lyes vnto them in my name. I haue not spoken wyth them, nether gaue I them eny charge, nether dyd I sende them: yet they preach vnto you false visions, charming vanite, & disceytfulnesse of their owne herte.

²¹ I haue not sent these Prophetes (sayeth the Lorde) and yet they ranne. I haue not spoken to them, and yet they preached.

²⁵ I haue herde well ynough, what the prophetes saye, that preache lyes in my name, sayinge: I haue dreamed, I haue dreamed.

¹¹ And manye false prophetes shall aryse, and shall deceyue manye.

²⁴ For there shall aryse false Christes, and false prophetes, and shall do great myracles and wonders. In so much that if it were possyble the very electe should be deceiued.

⁴³ I am come in my fathers name, and ye receyue me not. If another shall come in his owne name, him wyll ye receyue.

³⁶ Before these dayes rose vp one Theudas bostynge him selfe: to whom resorted a numbre of men, aboute a foure hundred which was slaine, and they all which beleued him: were scatred abroade, & brought to nought. ³⁷ After this man, arose ther vp one Iudas of Galile in the tyme when tribute began, and drewe awaie muche people after him. He also perished, and all euen as manye as harkened to hym: are scattered abroade.

⁹ And ther was a certaine man called Simon, which before tyme in the same citye, vsed wytchcraft and bewitched the people of Samarye, sayinge that he was a man that coulde do greate thinges. ¹⁰ Whom they regarded, from the lest to the greatest, saiyng: this felow is the great power of God.

¹⁸ Litel chyldren, it is the last time, and as ye haue hearde how that Antichriste shall come, euen nowe are there many Antichristes come alredye. Wherby we knowe that it is the last tyme.

⁸ and al that dwel vpon the earth worshipte him, whose names are not written in the boke of lyfe of the lambe, which was killed from the beginning of the worlde.
