¹ And Myriam & Aaron spake agaynst Moses, because of hys wyfe of Inde which he had taken: for he had taken to wife one of Inde. ² And they sayde doth the Lorde speake only thorowe Moses? doth he not speake also by vs? And the Lorde hearde it. ³ But Moses was a very make man aboue al the men of the erth. ⁴ And the lord spake attonce vnto Moses vnto Aaron and Miriam: come out ye .iij. vnto the tabernacle of wytnesse: and they came out al thre. ⁵ And the Lord came doune in the piller of the cloude and stode in the dore of the tabernacle & called Aaron and Myriam. And they went out both of them. ⁶ And he sayed heare my wordes If there be a prophet of the Lordes among you, I wyl shewe my selfe vnto him in a visyon & wyll speake vnto hym in a dreame. ⁷ But my seruaunt Moses is not so, which is faithful in al mine house. ⁸ Vnto him I speake mouth to mouth and he seith the syght & the facion of the Lord, & not thorowe rydels. Wherfore then were ye not afraied to speake agaynst my seruaunt Moses? ⁹ And the Lord was angrye with them and went his way, ¹⁰ and the cloud departed from of the tabernacle. And beholde, MyrIam was become leprous, as it were snowe. And when Aaron loked vpon MirIam and saw that she was leprous, ¹¹ he sayde vnto Moses: Oh I beseche the my Lord, put not the synne vpon vs which we haue folishly committed and synned. ¹² Oh, let her not be as one that came dead out of hys mothers wombe: for halfe her flesh is eaten away. ¹³ And Moses cryed vnto the Lord sayinge: Oh God, heale her. ¹⁴ And the Lord sayd vnto Moses: If her father had spitte in her face should she not be ashamed .vii. dayes, let her be shutte out of the hoste .vij. dayes, and after that let her be receyued in agayne. ¹⁵ And MirIam was shut out of the hoste .vij. dayes and the people remoued not, tyll she was broughte in agayne. ¹⁶ And afterward they remoued from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wyldernesse of Pharan.

³ that I may make the swere by the Lord that is God of heauen & God of the erth, that thou shalt not take a wyfe vnto my sonne, of the daughters of the Canaanytes, among whych I dwel.

³⁷ And my master made me swere saying: thou shalt not take a wife to my sonne amonge the doughters of the Cananites in whose lande I dwell.

³⁴ When Esau was .xl. yere old, he toke to wyfe Iudith the doughter of Bery an Hethyte, & Basmath the doughter of Elou an Hethite, ³⁵ also whyche were disobedient vnto Isaac and Rebecca.

⁴⁶ And Rebecca spake to Isaac: I am werye of my life, for feare of the doughters of Heth. If Iacob take a wife of the doughters of Heth, such one as these are, or of the daughters of the land, what lust shold I haue to lyue.

⁶ When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Iacob, & sent him to Mesopotamia, to fet him a wyfe thence, & that as he blessed him he gaue him a charge, saying: se thou take not a wife of the daughters of Canaan: ⁷ and that Iacob had obeyed hys father and mother, & was gone vnto Mesopotamia: ⁸ and seynge also that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac hys father: ⁹ then went he vnto Ismael, and toke vnto the wyues whyche he had Mahala the daughter of Ismaell Abrahams sonne, the sister of Nabaioth to be hys wyf

¹⁴ And they sayd vnto them, we can not do thys thing that we shoulde gyue our syster to one that is vncircumcised, for that were a shame vnto vs. ¹⁵ Only in thys wyl we consent vnto you? If ye wyl be as we be, that all the men children amonge you be circumcised,

⁴⁵ And he called Iosephs name Zaphnath Paena. And he gaue him to wyfe Asnath the daughter of Putiphar preast of On. Than went Ioseph abrode in the lande of Egypte.

¹⁶ The priest of Madian had .vij. doughters which came and drewe water and filled the troughes, for to water theyr fathers shepe.

²¹ And Moyses was content to dwel with the manne. And he gaue Moyses Zelphora his daughter,

¹⁶ and thou take of theyr daughters vnto thy sonnes, and when theyr daughters goo a whorynge after theyr Goddes,

¹⁴ but no widowe nor deuorsed nor poluted whoore. But he shall take a mayde of his owne people to wyfe,

³⁶ And a mans fooes shall be they of hys owne housholde.

⁴⁸ He aunswered and sayd to hym that tolde him: Who is my mother? Who are my brethren?

⁵ For as yet his brethren beleued not in him.

²⁰ Remember the saiyng that I sayde vnto you: the seruaunt is not greater then the lorde, yf they haue persecuted me, so wyll they persecute you: yf they haue kept my saiynges, so wyll they kepe yours.

¹⁶ Am I therfore become your enemye, because I tell you the truth?

³³ And she conceaued agayne & bare a sonne, and sayd: the Lorde hath hearde that I am despysed, & hath therfore geuen me thys Sonne also, & she called hym Simeon.

³⁰ And Aaron told al the wordes whych the Lorde had spoken vnto Moses, & did the myracles in the syght of the people,

¹ Then Moses & Aaron went & told Pharao, thus saieth the Lorde God of Israel. Let my people go, that they maye kepe holye day vnto me in the wildernes.

¹⁰ Then went Moses & Aaron in vnto Pharao, and dyd euen as the Lorde had commaunded. And Aaron cast forth his rodd before Pharao, and before hys seruauntes, & it turned to a serpent.

²⁰ And MirIam a Prophetisse the syster of Aaron toke a tymbrell in her hand, & all the woman came out after her with tymbrels in a daunse. ²¹ And MirIam sange before them: Synge ye vnto the Lord, for he is become glorious in deade: the horsse and his ryder hath he ouerthrowne in the sea.

¹ And the people complayned & it displeased the eares of the Lorde. And when the lord heard it he was wroth, and the fyre of the Lorde burnt amonge them and consumed the vttermost of the hoste.

²⁹ And Moses sayed vnto hym: enuyest thou for my sake? wold God that al the Lordes people coulde prophecye, & that the lord wolde put his spyrite vpon them.

³ and they gathered them selues togyther agaynst Moses and Aaron and sayed vnto them: ye haue done inough. For all the, multitude are holy euery one of them & the Lorde is amonge them. Why therefore heaue we our selues vp aboue the congregaon of the Lorde.

²⁷ & as sone as the mournyng was ended, Dauid sente and fet her to hys house, and she was hys wyfe & bare him a sonne. But the deade that Dauid had committed, dyspleased the Lorde.

⁴ Oh that the Lorde thy God would heare al the wordes of Rabsakeh whom the kynge of Assiria hys mayster hathe sent to rayle on the lyuynge God, and to rebuke hym wyth wordes which the Lord thy God hath heard. Wherfore lyfte vp thy prayer for the remnaunt that are lefte.

⁷ And yet they saye: Tushe, the Lorde seyth not, the God of Iacob regardeth it not. ⁸ Take hede, ye vnwyse among the people: O ye fooles, when will ye vnderstande? ⁹ He that planted the eare, shal he not heare? he that made the eye, shal not he se?

¹⁰ Among the proud ther is euer strife, but amonge those that do all thynges wyth aduysemente, ther is wysdome.

⁴ The Lorde thy God (no doute) hath well consydered the wordes of Rabsakeh, whom hys lorde the Kynge of the Assyrians hath sent, to defye & blaspheme the lyuynge God: with soch wordes as the Lord thy God hath heard right well. And therfore lyfte vp thy prayer for the remnaunt, that yet are left.

¹² Yee and that thou also mayest be sure, that I the Lord haue hearde all thy despytefull wordes, whiche thou hast spoken agaynst the mountaynes of Israel, sayinge: Lo, they are made waste, & geuen vs to deuoure. ¹³ Thus wyth youre mouthes ye haue mayde youre boost agaynst me, yee & multyplyed youre proude wordes agaynst me, which I haue hearde altogether.

⁴ Because I brought the from the lande of Egypte, and delyuered the out of the house of bondage? Because I made Moses, Aaron and Miriam to lede the?

³ For I say (thorowe the grace that vnto me geuen is) to euery man among you, that no man esteme of hym selfe more then it becommeth hym to esteme: but that he discretelye iudge of hym selfe, accordynge as GOD hath dealt to euery man the measure of fayth.

¹⁰ Be kynde one to another with brotherlye loue. In geuynge honoure, go one before another.

³ that nothing be done thorowe stryfe or vaine glorye, but that in mekenes of mynde euerye man esteme other better then him selfe,

¹⁴ Do al thinge wythout murmuringe and disputynge,

⁵ Lykewyse ye yonger submit youre selues vnto the elder. Submit youre selues euerye man, one to another, knyt youre selues together in lowlines of mynde. For God resisteth the proude & geueth grace to humble.

¹⁰ And when Moses herde the people wepe in their housholdes euery man in the dore of his tent, then the wrath of the Lorde waxed whott excedynglye: & it greued Moses also. ¹¹ And Moses sayde vnto the Lorde: wherfore dealest thou so cruelly wyth thy seruaunte? wherfore do I not fynde fauoure in thi sight seynge that thou puttest the weyght of thys people vpon me? ¹² haue I conceyued all thys people, or haue I begotte them, that thou shouldest saye vnto me, carye them in thy bosome (as a nurse beareth the suckyng chyld) vnto the land whych thou swarest vnto their fathers? ¹³ where shoulde I haue flesh to geue vnto al this people? For they wepe vnto me sayinge: geue vs fleshe that we maye eate. ¹⁴ I am not able to bere all this people alone, for it is to heuy for me. ¹⁵ Wherfore yf thou deale thus with me, kyl me, I pray the, If I haue found fauoure in thy syght and let me not se my wrechednesse.

¹⁰ And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation togither before the rocke, and he sayd vnto them here ye rebellious, muste we fette you water out of thys rocke? ¹¹ And Moses lyfte vp hys handes wyth hys staffe, and smote the rocke two tymes, and the water came oute abundauntly, and the multitude dranke and the beastes also. ¹² And the Lorde spake vnto Moses & Aaron: bicause ye beleued me not to sanctify me in the eyes of the chyldren of Israel, therfore ye shall not brynge thys congregation into the land which I haue geuen them.

³² They angeryd hym also at the waters of strife, so that Moyses was punished for ther sakes. ³³ Because they prouoked his spirite, and he told them plainly with his lippes.

⁶ The Lord setteth vp the meke, and bryngeth the vngodly doune to the grounde.

⁴ For the Lorde hath pleasure in hys people, and helpeth the meke harted.

⁵ Blessed are the meke: for they shall inheret the earth.

²⁹ Take my yocke on you and learne of me, for I am meke and lowly in herte: and ye shall fynde reste vnto your soules.

⁵ Tel ye the doughter of Sion: beholde thyne kyng cometh vnto the meke, and sitting vpon an Asse and a colte, the fote of an Asse vsed to the yooke.

¹ I Paule my selfe beseche you by the mekenesse and softenes of Christe, whiche when I am present amonge you, am of no reputacion, but am bolde toward you beynge absent,

⁵ I impose that I was not behynde the chief Apostles.

¹¹ I am made a fole in bostynge my selfe. Ye haue compelled me: I ought to haue bene commended of you. For in nothynge was I inferyor vnto the chiefe Apostles. Thoughe I be nothynge

⁷ but we were tender amonge you, euen as a noursse cheryshed his children,

² for in many thinges we synne all. Yf a man synne not in worde, the same is a perfect man and able to tame al the bodye. ³ Beholde we put bittes into the horsses mouthes that they shoulde obeye vs, and we turne aboute all the body.

¹³ So can no fountayne geue both salte water & freshe also. If any man be wyse and endued wyth learnynge amonge you, let hym shewe the workes of hys good conuersacyon in mekenes that is coupled with wysdome.

⁴ but let the hyd man of the harte be vncorrupte with a meke and a quyete spyryte, whiche spyryte is before God a thynge muche set by.

¹⁶ Then Moses said vnto Corah: Be thou and all thy company before the Lord: both thou they, and Aaron to morowe. ¹⁷ And take euery man his censer and putte cense in them, and come before the Lord euery man with his censer: two hundred and fiftye censers, and Aaron wyth hys censer. ¹⁸ And they toke euerye man his censer and put fyre in them & layed cense thereon, and stode in the dore of the tabernacle of wytnesse, and Moses and Aaron also. ¹⁹ And Corah gathered all the congregation agaynste them vnto the dore of the tabernacle of wytnesse. And the glory of the Lord appeared vnto all the congregation. ²⁰ And the Lorde spake vnto Moses and Aaron sayinge: ²¹ seperate your selues from thys congregation, that I may consume them at once.

⁹ Yea when God aryseth to geue iudgment and to helpe all them that be in aduersyty vpon earth. Selah.

⁵ And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stode with hym there: and he called vpon the name of the Lorde.

³⁸ for the cloud of the Lord was vpon the habitation by daye, and fyre by nyght: in the syght of all the house of Israell in all theyr iourneys.

²⁵ And the Lorde came doune in a cloude & spake vnto him, and toke of the sprete that was vpon him, and put it vpon the .lxx. elders. And as the spirite rested vpon them, they prophecied & dyd nought els.

⁷ He spake vnto them out of the cloudy piller for he kepte hys testymonyes, and the lawe that gaue them.

¹ After these dedes, the worde of God, came vnto Abram in a vision sayinge: Feare not Abram, I am thy shyld, and thy rewarde shall be exceadynge greate.

⁷ Nowe therfore delyuer the man his wyfe agayne, for he is a Prophete. And let him pray for the that thou mayst lyue. But and yf thou delyuer her not agayn, be sure that thou shalt dye the deth, wyth al that thou hast.

¹⁰ For in bucking tyme I lifted vp myne eyes, & sawe in a dreame, & beholde the rammes that bucked the shepe were straked spotted, & party. ¹¹ And the angel of god spake vnto me in a dreame, saiyng: Iacob? And I answered: here am I.

² And God sayd vnto Israel in a visyon by nyghte, & called vnto him: Iacob Iacob. And he answered: here am I.

¹ And the lord said vnto Moses: behold I haue made the Pharaos God, & Aaron thy brother shalbe thy prophete.

⁵ And in Gabaon the Lorde apered to Salomon in a dreame by nyghte. And God sayde: Aske what I shall geue the.

¹³ In the phantasyes and thoughtes of the vysyons of the nyght, when slepe cometh on men:

¹⁵ In dreames and visyons of the nyght season (when slombring commeth vpon men, that they fall a slepe in theyr beddes)

¹⁹ Thou spakest sometyme in visions vnto thy saynctes, and saydest: I haue layed helpe vpon one that is mighty, I haue exalted one chosen out of the people.

¹⁵ Touch not myne anoynted, do my prophetes no harme.

²⁸ The prophet that hath a dreame, let hym tell it: and he that vnderstandeth my worde, lett hym shewe it faythfully. For what hath chaffe and wheate to do together? sayeth the Lorde.

¹ It chaunsed in the .xxx. yeare the fifth daye of the .iiij. Moneth, that I was amonge the presoners by the ryuer of Cobar: where the heauens opened, and I sawe a vysyon of God.

¹ In the firste yeare of Balthazar kinge of Babylon, saw Daniel a dreame, and a visyon was in his head vpon his bed. Whiche dreame he wrote, and the summe of the matter is this:

² I saw in vision (& when I saw it, I was at Susis in the chefe citie, whyche lyeth in the lande of Elam) and in the vision, me thought I was by the ryuer of Vlai.

⁸ I was left there my selfe alone, and sawe this greate vision, so longe till there remayned no more strengthe within me: yea I lost my coloure cleane, I waited awaye, and my strength was gone.

¹⁶ Beholde, there touched my lippes one very lyke vnto a man. Then opened I my mouthe, & sayde vnto him, that stode before me: O my Lorde, my pointes are lowsed in the vision, and there is no more strength within me: ¹⁷ Howe may my Lordes seruaunt then talke with my Lorde? seynge there is no strength in me: so that I can not take my breth?

²⁰ While he thus thought, behold the Aungel of the Lord appered vnto him in a dreame, sainge: Ioseph thou sonne of Dauid. fear not to take vnto the Mary thy wife. For that which is conceyued in her is of the holye Ghost.

¹² And after they were warned of God in a dreame, that they should not go agayne to Herode, they retourned into their owne countre another waye. ¹³ When they were departed: Beholde the aungell of the Lorde appeared to Ioseph in a dreame sayinge. Aryse, and take the chylde & his mother, and flee into Egipte, and abyde there tyll I bringe the worde. For Herode wil seke the chylde to destroye him.

¹⁹ When Herode was dead: beholde, an aungel of the Lorde appeared in a dreame to Iosephe in Egip

³¹ So then ye be witnesses to your selues, that ye are the chyldren of them whyche kylled the Prophetes.

³⁴ Wherfore, behold I send vnto you Prophetes, wise men, & Scribes. Of them ye shal kyl and crucifye: and of them ye shall scourge in your synagoges, and persecute from citye to citye

³⁷ Ierusalem, Ierusalem which killest prophetes, and stone them which are sent to the: howe often would I haue gathered thy children together: as the henne gathered her chikens vnder her winges, but ye would not.

¹¹ And ther appeared vnto hym an Aungell of the Lorde standynge on the ryght syde of the altare of incense.

²² And when he came out he coulde not speake to them. Wherby they perceyued that he had sene some vysyon in the temple. And he beckened vnto them, and remayned speacheles.

⁶ But and yf we shall saye of men, all the people wyll stone vs. For they be perswaded that Iohn is a Prophet.

¹¹ and sawe heauen opened, and a certaine vessel come doune vnto hym as it had bene a greate sheete knyte at the .iiij. corners, and was let doune to the earth,

¹⁷ While Peter mused in himself: what this vision, whiche he had sene, meant: beholde, the men whiche were sente from Cornelius had made inquiraunce for Simons house, & stode before the dore.

¹⁷ And it fortuned when I was come agayn to Ierusalem, and prayde in the temple that I was in a traunce, ¹⁸ and sawe hym, saiyng vnto me: Make hast, and get the quickly out of Ierusalem: for they wyll not receyue the wytnes that thou bearest of me.

¹¹ And the very same made some Apostles, some Prophetes, some Euangelistes, some sheperdes, some teachers,

³ And I will geue power vnto my .ij. witnesses, & they shal prophesy .M.ij.C. & .lx. daies, cloteth in sacke cloth.

¹⁰ And they that dwell vpon the earth, shall reioyse ouer them and be glad, and shal sende gyftes one to another for these two prophetes vexed them that dwelt on the earth.

¹⁸ I wyl rayse them vp a prophet from among their brethren lyke vnto the & wyll put my wordes into his mouth & he shal speake vnto them al that I shal commaunde him.

¹ Afterthe deathe of Moses the seruaunt of the Lord: the Lord spake vnto Iosua the sonne of Nun Moses minister saying:

²⁶ Then sente he Moses his seruaunte, and Aaron, whome he had chosen.

⁹ But what went ye out for to se? A prophete. Yea, I say vnto you, and more then a prophete.

¹¹ Verely I say vnto you, amonge the children of women arose ther not a greater then Iohn the Baptist. Notwithstandinge he that is lesse in the kingdome of heauen, is greater then he.

²² For Moyses sayd vnto the fathers: A Prophete shall the Lorde youre God raise vp vnto you, euen of youre brethren lyke vnto me: hym shall ye heare in all thynges, whatsoeuer he shall saye vnto you. ²³ For the tyme wyll come, that euerye soule, whyche shal not heare that same prophete, shal be destroyed from amonge the people.

³¹ When Moyses saw it he woundred at the sight. And as he drue near to behold, the voice of the Lord came vnto hym.

² Furthermore it is requyred of the dysposers, that they be found faithfull.

¹⁵ but and yf I tarye longe, that then thou mayeste yet haue knowledge howe thou oughtest to behaue thy selfe in the housse of God, whiche is the congregacyon of the lyuynge God, the pyllar & ground of trueth.

² which was faithfull to him that made him euen as was Moises in al his house. ³ And yet was this man counted worthy of more glorye then Moyses: In as muche as he which hath prepared the house hath most honoure in the house. ⁴ Euery house is prepared of some man. But he that ordeyned al thinges is God. ⁵ And Moyses verelye was faythfull in al hys house as a minyster, to beare wytnes of those thynges, whyche shoulde be spoken afterwarde. ⁶ But Chryste as a sonne hath rule ouer the house, whose house are we, so that we holde faste the confidence and the reioysynge of that hope, vnto the ende.

⁴ to whome ye come as vnto a lyuinge stone dysalowed of men, but chosen of God and precyous: ⁵ and ye as lyuynge stones, are made a spirytuall housse, and an holye priesthode, for to offer vp spyrytuall sacryfyce, acceptable to God by Iesus Christe.

⁴ Thou shalt make the no grauen ymage neyther any similitude that is in heauen aboue either in the earth beneth, or in the water that is beneth the earth.

¹⁰ and sawe the God of Israel, and vnder his feate as it were a brycke worke of Saphir & as it were the facion of heauen when it is cleare, ¹¹ & vpon the nobles of the chyldren of Israel he set not hys hande. And when they had sene God they ate and dronke.

¹¹ And the Lorde spake vnto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh vnto hys frende. And when Moses turned agayne in to the hoste, the ladd Iosua his seruaunte the sonne of Nun departed not out of the tabernacle.

¹⁹ And he sayd: I wyl make al my good god before the, and I wyl be called in thys name Iehouah before the, & wil shew mercy to whom I shewe mercy, and wyll haue compassion on whom I haue compassion.

²³ And then I wyl take away myne hande, and thou shalte se my backe partes: but my face shall not be seene.

⁵ And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stode with hym there: and he called vpon the name of the Lorde. ⁶ And when the Lord walked before him, he cried: Lord Lord God full of compassion and mercy, which are not lightly angry but abundaunt in mercy and truth, ⁷ and kepest mercye in store for thousandes, & forgeueste wyckednes, trespace, and synne (for there is no man innocent before the) and vysitest the wyckednes of the father vpon the chyldren and vpon chyldrens chyldren, euen vnto the thyrd and fourth generation.

³⁰ And when Aaron and all the chyldren of Israel loked vpon Moses and sawe that the skynne of his face shone with beames they were afrayde to come nye hym.

¹⁴ And it wylbe told to the inhabiters of thys land also, for they haue heard likewyse, that thou the Lord arte among thys people, & that thou art sene face to face, and that thy cloude standeth ouer them & that thou goest before them by day tyme in a pyller of a cloud and in a pyller of fire by night.

¹⁵ Take hede vnto youre selues diligentlye as pertaynynge vnto youre Soules, for ye sawe no maner of ymage the daye when the Lorde spake vnto you in Horeb out of the fire lest ye marre your selues

¹⁰ But there arose not a prophete sence in Israell lyke vnto Moses, whom the Lorde knewe face to face,

¹⁵ But as for me, I wil beholde thy presence in righteousnes: and when thy glory appeareth, I shall be satisfied.

⁴ I will enclyne myne eare to the parable, and shewe my darke speach vpon the harpe.

¹⁸ To whom then will ye liken God? or what simylitude wyll ye set vp vnto hym?

⁵ Whom wyll ye make me lyke, in fashion or ymage, that I maye be lyke him?

² Thou sonne of man: put forthe a darcke speakinge, and a parable, vnto the house of Israel,

⁴⁹ Then saide I: O Lord they will saye of me: Tush, they are but fables, that he telleth.

³⁵ to fulfil that which was spoken by the Prophet saying: I wil open my mouth in similitudes, & will speake forth thynges whych haue ben kept secrete from the begynnyng of the world.

¹⁶ He that heareth you, heareth me, and he that dispyseth you, despyseth me: & he that despyseth me, despiseth hym that sente me.

¹⁸ No man hath sene God at anye tyme. The onlye begotten sonne which is in the bosome of the father, he hath declared hym.

⁷ Yf ye had knowen me, ye had knowen my father also. And nowe ye knowe hym, & haue sene hym. ⁸ Philip sayde vnto hym: Lorde shewe vs the father, and it suffyseth vs. ⁹ Iesus sayd vnto hym. Haue I bene so longe tyme with you, and yet haste thou not knowen me? Philip, he that hath sene me, hath sene the father. And how sayest thou then: shew vs the father? ¹⁰ Beleuest thou not that I am in the father & the father in me? The wordes that I speake vnto you. I speake not of my selfe: but the father that dwelleth in me, is he that doeth the workes.

¹⁵ Henceforth call I you not seruauntes: for the seruaunt knoweth not what hys lorde doth. But you haue I called frendes, for all thynges that I haue heard of my father, I haue opened vnto you.

²⁴ If I had not done workes among them which none other man dyd, they had not had synne. But now haue they sene, & yet haue hated both me & my father:

¹² Nowe we se in a glasse euen in a darke speakinge, but then shall we se face to face. Nowe I knowe vnperfectlye, but then shall I knowe euen as I am knowen.

¹⁸ But we all beholde the glorye of the Lorde with hys face open, and chaunged vnto the same similitude, from glorye to glory, euen of the spirite of the Lorde.

⁴ in whome the God of thys worlde hath blynded the myndes of them which beleue not, leste the lyght of the gloryous gospell of Christe which is the ymage of God shoulde shyne vnto them. ⁵ For we preache not oure selues, but Christ Iesus to be the Lorde, and oure selues youre seuauntes for Iesus sake. ⁶ For it is God that commaunded the lighte to shyne out of darknes, whiche hath shyned in oure hertes, for to geue the lyghte of the knoweledge of the glorye of God, in the face of Iesus Christe.

¹⁵ whyche is the ymage of the inuisible God, fyrste begotten of creatures.

⁸ He therfore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, whiche hath sente his holye spirite amonge you.

¹⁶ whiche onelye hath immortalitie, and dwelleth in lyght that no man can attayne, whome neuer man sawe, neyther can se, to whom be honoure and rule euerlastynge. Amen.

³ Whyche sonne beyng the bryghtnes of hys glorye, and verye Image of his substaunce, bearinge vp al thinges wyth the worde of hys power, hath in his owne persone pourged our synnes, and is sitting on the right hand of the maiestie on hygh,

¹⁰ namely them that walke after the fleshe in the luste of vncleanes, and despyse the rulars. Presumpteous are they, & stubborne and feare not to speake euyl of them that are in authoritie.

⁸ Likewyse these dremers defyle the flesh, despyse rulars and spake euil of them that are in authorytye.

²² And God left of talkynge with him, & departed vp from Abraham.

¹⁵ I wyll go, and returne to my place, tyll they waxe faynt and seke my.

⁶ And the Lord sayd furthermore vnto him thruste thyne hand into thy bosome. And he thrust hys hand into hys bosome and toke it out. And behold, his hand was leperous euen as snowe.

⁷ And Moses toke the tabernacle & pytched it without the hoste a ferre of from the hoste, & called it the tabernacle of wytnesse. And al that wold axe any question of the Lorde, went out vnto the tabernacle of wytnesse whyche was without the hoste. ⁸ And when Moses went out vnto the tabernacle, all the people rose vp and stode euery man in his tent dore and loked after Moses, vntyll he was gone in to the tobernacle. ⁹ And as sone as Moses was entred in to the tabernacle, the clouden pyller descended and stode in the dore of the tabernacle, and he talked with Moses. ¹⁰ And when all the people sawe the clouden piller stande in the tabernacle dore, they rose vp & worshypped: euery man in hys tent dore.

² when there appeareth a risyng in any mans flesh ether a scabbe or a glystring whyte: as though the plage of leprosye were in the skynne of hys fleshe, then let hym be brought vnto Aaron the Preaste or vnto one of hys sonnes the Preastes, ³ and let the Preast loke on the sore that is in the skynne of hys flesh. If the heyre in the soore be turned vnto white, & the sore also seme to be lower then the skynne of his fleshe, then it is surely a leprosye, & let the Preast loke on hym, & iudge hym vncleane. ⁴ If there be but a whyte plecke in the skynne of his flesh, and seme not to be lower then the other skynne nor the heyre therof is turned vnto whyte: then let the Preast shut him vp seuen daies. ⁵ And let the Preast loke vpon him the .vij. day: yf the sore seme to hym to abyde styl & to go no further in the skynne, then let the Preast shut hym vp yet .vij. dayes moo. ⁶ And let the Preast loke on him agayn the .vij. day. Then yf the soore be waxed blackesh, & is not growen abroode in the skynne, let the Preast make him cleane, for it is but a skyrf. And let hym wasshe his clothes, & then he is cleane. ⁷ But & yf the scabbe growe in the skynne after that he is sene of the Preast agayne. ⁸ If the Preast se that the scabbe be growen abrode in the skynne, let him make him vncleane: for it is surely a leprosye. ⁹ If the plage of leprosie be in a man, let him be brought vnto the Preast, ¹⁰ & let the Preaste se hym. If the rysyng appeare whyte in the skynne, & haue also made the heyre whyte, & there be rawe flesh in the sore also: ¹¹ then it is an old leprosye in the skynne of his flesh. And the Preast shall iudge him vnclene, and shal not shutte hym vp for he is vncleane. ¹² If a leprosye breake out in the skynne and couer all the skynne from the heed to the foote ouer all whersoeuer the Preast loketh, ¹³ then let the Preast loke vpon hym. If the leprosye haue couered al his fleshe, let hym iudge the dysease clene: for in as moche as he is altogether whyte he is therfore cleane. ¹⁴ But and yf there be rawe flesh on him when he is sene, then he shalbe vncleane. ¹⁵ Therfore when the Preast seeth the rawe flesh, let him iudge hym vnclene. For in as moche as hys fleshe is rawe, he is vnclene and it is surely a true leprosye. ¹⁶ But and yf the rawe flesh departe agayne & chaunge vnto whyte, then let hym come to the prest, ¹⁷ & let the Preast se hym: If the soore be chaunged vnto whyte, let the Preast iudge the dysease cleane, and then he is cleane. ¹⁸ When there is a byle in the skynne of any mans flesh and is healed ¹⁹ & after in the place of the byle there appeare a whyte rysing ether a shynyng whyte somwhat reddysh, let hym be sene of the Preast. ²⁰ If when the Preast seyth hym it appeare lower than the other skynne & the heyre therof be chaunged vnto white, let the Preast iudge hym vncleane: for it is a very leprosye, that is broken out in the place of the byle. ²¹ But and yf when the Preast loketh on it there be no whyte heyres therin nether the scabbe lower then the other skynne and be somwhat blackesh, then the Preast shall shutt him aparte .vij. dayes. ²² If it sprede abrode in the meane ceason, then let the Preast iudge hym vncleane: for it is a leprosye. ²³ But and yf the glystrynge whyte abyde styl in one place & go no further, then it is but the prynte of the byle, and the Preast shall iudge hym cleane. ²⁴ When the skynne of any mans flesh is burnt with fyre that it be rawe & there appere in the burnyng a glistring whyte that is somwhat reddysh or altogether whyte, ²⁵ let the Preast loke vpon it. If the heyre in that bryghtnesse be chaunged to whyte, and it also appeare lower then the other skynne, then it is a leprosye that is broken out of the place of the burning. And the Preast shal iudge him vncleane, for it is a leprosye. ²⁶ But and yf (when the Preast loketh on it) he se that there is no whyte heyre in the bryghtenesse, & that it is no lower then the other skynne, & that it is also blackesh, then let the preast shut him vp .vij. dayes. ²⁷ And yf (when the Preast loketh on him the .vij. day) it be growen abrode in the skynne, let hym iudge hym vncleane: for it is a leprosye. ²⁸ But and yf that bryghtnesse abyde styl in one place & go no further in the skynne & be blackesh, then it is but a rysynge in the place of the burnynge, and the Preast shall make hym cleane: for it is but the prynte of the burnyng only. ²⁹ When ether man or woman hath a breakyng out vpon the heed or the beerde, let the preast se it. ³⁰ And yf it appeare lower than the other skynne, & ther be therin golden heyres & thyn, let the preast iudge hym vncleane, for it is a breakyng out of leprosye vpon the heed or berde. ³¹ If (when the Preast loketh on the breakynge out) he se that it is no lower then the other skynne & that there are blacke heyres therin, let hym shut hym vp .vij. dayes. ³² And let the preast loke on the dysease the .vij. day: & yf the breakyng out be gone no forther nether be any golden heyres therin nether the scabbe be lower then the other skynne, ³³ then let him be shauen, but let hym not shaue the scabbe: & let the preast shut hym vp .vij. dayes moo. ³⁴ And let the preast loke on the breakyng out the .vij. day agayn: If the breakynge out be gone no further in the skynne nor moore lower then the other skynne, then let the preast iudge hym cleane, and let hym wasshe hys clothes, & then he is cleane. ³⁵ If the breakyng out growe in the skynne after that he is once iudged cleane, ³⁶ let the Preast sea him. If it be growne abrode in dede in the skynne, let the preast seke no further for any golden heyres, for he is vncleane. ³⁷ But and yf he se that the scabbe stande styll, & that there is blacke heyre growne vp therin, then the scabbe is healed and he is cleane: & the Preast shal iudge him cleane. ³⁸ If there be found in the skynne of the flesh of man or woman a glysteryng whyte, ³⁹ let the Preast se it. If there appeare in theyr flesh a glysteryng whyte somwhat blackesh then it is but frekels growen vp in the skinne: and he is cleane. ⁴⁰ If a mans heyre fal of his heed, then he is heed baulde & cleane. ⁴¹ If his heyre fal before in his foreheed, then he is foreheedbald and cleane. ⁴² If there be in the bauld heed or bauld foreheed a reddish whyte scabbe, then there is leprosye spronge vp in hys baulde heed or baulde foreheede. ⁴³ And let the preast se it: and yf the rysyng of the sore be reddysh whyte in his baulde heede or foreheed after the maner of a leprosie in the skynne of the flesh, ⁴⁴ then he is a leper & vncleane: & the Preast shal iudge him vncleane, for the plage of his heed. ⁴⁵ And the leper in whome the plage is, shall haue his clothes rent & his heede bare & hys mouth moffeld, & shalbe called vncleane. ⁴⁶ And as long as the dysease lasteth vpon him, he shalbe vncleane: for he is vncleane, and shall therfore dwel alone, & euen without the host shal hys habitacion be.

⁹ Remembre what the Lord thy God dyd vnto Miriam by the waye, after that ye were come out of Egypte.

²⁷ The leprosye therfore of Naaman claue vnto the, & vnto thy seede for euer. And he went out from hym a leper as whit as snowe.

⁵ And the Lorde smote the kynge, that he was a leper vnto the daye of hys death, and dwelte in an house at lybertye, and Iotham the kynges sonne gouerned the house and iudged the people of the lande.

¹⁹ And Oziah was wroth and had cense in hys hande to offer, and in hys indignacyon agaynste the prieste, the leprosye sprange in his forhead the priestes in the house of the Lorde, euen besyde the incense aulter. ²⁰ And Asariah the chefe priest with al the other priestes loked vpon him: and beholde he was a leper in his forhead, & they vexed him thence. And therto he was fayne to go oute, because the Lord had plaged him. ²¹ And Oziah the kynge continued a lepre vnto the daye of his death & dwelte in an house at lybertie: howe be it, he was cast out of the house of the Lord. And Ionatham his sonne had the gouernaunce of the kynges house & iudged the people of the lande.

⁴ But the glory of the Lorde remoued from the Cherubyns, and came vpon the thresholde of the house: so that the temple was full of cloudes, and the courte was full of the shyne of the Lordes glory. ⁵ Yea and the sounde of the Cherubyns winges was heard into the fore court lyke as it had bene the voyce of the almyghty God, when he speaketh.

¹⁸ Then the glory of the Lorde was lyfte vp from the thresholde of the temple, and remayned vpon the Cherubyns. ¹⁹ And the Cherubins flackred wyth theyr wynges, & lyft them selues vp from the earth: so that I sawe when they wente, and the wheles with them. And they stode at the east syde of the porte that is in the house of the Lorde. So the glorye of the Lorde was vpon them.

¹² And though they bring vp any yet wyll I make them chyldelesse among men. Yea, wo shall come to them, when I departe from them.

⁴¹ Then shall the kinge saye vnto them that shalbe on the lyfte hande. Departe from me ye cursed, into euerlastinge fyre, which is prepared for the deuyll and hys angels.

³² And take youre shepe and your oxen wt you as ye haue sayd, & departe & blesse me also.

³⁰ Wherfore the Lorde God of Israel sayth: I sayde that thyne house and the house of thy father shulde haue walked before me for euer. But now the Lorde sayth: that be farre from me: for them that worshyppe me, I wyll worshyp, & they that despyse me, shalbe despised.

¹⁹ Then sayde all the people vnto Samuel: praye for thy seruauntes vnto the Lorde thy God, that we dye not: for we haue synned in askyng vs a kynge, besyde all the synnes that euer we dyd.

²⁴ Then sayde Saul to Samuel: I haue sinned, for I haue trespaced the mouthe of the Lorde, and thy wordes, because I feared the people and obeyed theyr voyce. ²⁵ But now take awaye my synne, & turne agayne wyth me, that I maye worshyppe the Lord.

¹⁹ and saide vnto him: let not my Lord impute wickednesse vnto me, no: let him not remember the wickednesse that thy seruaunt dyd, when my Lorde the kynge departed out of Ierusalem that the kynge should take it to herte.

¹⁰ And Dauids herte smote him after that he had nombred the people. And he sayde vnto the Lorde: I haue sinned excedingly in that I haue done. And nowe Lorde take away the trespace of thy seruaunt: for I haue done folishely.

⁶ And the kyng aunswered and sayd vnto the man of God: Oh pray vnto the Lorde thy God, & make intercession for me, that my hand maye be restored me agayne. And the man of God besought the Lord and hys hande came to hym agayne as well as before.

⁹ For the eyes of the Lorde beholde all the earthe, to strength the hertes of them that are hole with him. Herin thou hast done folyshly, and therfore from henceforth thou shalt haue warre.

¹ To the chaunter, to brynge too remembraunce. Pvtte me not too rebuke (Oh Lorde) in thyne anger: Oh chasten me not in thy heuy displeasure. ² For thyne arrowes stycke fast in me, and thy hande presseth me sore. ³ There is no whole parte in my body, because of thy displeasure: there is no reste in my bones, by reason of my synnes. ⁴ For my wyckednesses are gone ouer my head, and are like a sore burthen, to heuy for me to beare. ⁵ My woundes styncke and are corrupte, thorow my folyshnesse.

³² If thou be so folish to magnifie thy selfe, or medlest with any such thing, then laye thine hande vpon thy mouth.

² and sayde vnto Ieremye the Prophet: O heare our peticion, that thou mayest pray for vs vnto the Lord thy God, and for the remnaunt, whereof there be very few left of manye, as thou seyst vs,

²⁴ Then aunswered Simon, and said: praye ye to the Lord for me, that none of these thinges, which ye haue spoken fal on me.

⁹ Behold I make them of the congregacion of Sathan, which cal them selues Iewes and are not, but do lye: Beholde: I wyl make them that they shal come and worshyppe before thy fete, and shal knowe that I loue the.

¹⁶ O that I vtterlye had no beynge, or were as a thynge borne out of tyme (that is put asyde) ether as yonge chyldren, which neuer sawe the light.

⁸ Let them consume away lyke a snaile, and lyke the vntymely frute of a woman, and let them not se the sunne.

⁴ I am counted as one of them that go downe vnto the pitte, I am euen as a man that hath no strength. ⁵ Fre among the dead, like vnto them that lye in the graue, whyche be out of remembraunce, and are cutte away from thy hand.

⁸ And last of al, he was sene of me, as of one that was borne out of due time.

¹ And you hath he quickened also that were deade in treaspas & synne, ² in the whiche in time passed, yet walked accordynge to the course of thys worlde, & after the gouerner that ruleth in the ayer, the spyrite that nowe worketh in the chyldren of vnbelefe, ³ amonge whiche we also had our conuersation in tyme paste, in the lustes of oure fleshe, and fulfylled the wyll of the fleshe and of the mynde, and were naturallye the chyldren of wrath, euen as well as other. ⁴ But God whiche is ryche in mercye thorow his great loue wherewith he loued vs, ⁵ euen when we were dead by synne, hath quickened vs together in Christ (for by grace are ye saued)

¹³ And ye which were dead in sinne thorow the vncircumcision of youre fleshe, hath he quyckened with him, and hath forgeuen vs al oure treaspases.

⁶ But she that lyueth in pleasure, is dead euen yet alyue.

¹⁰ & and nowe therfore suffer me that my wrath may waxe hote vpon them, and that I may consume them and then wyl I make of the a mightye people. ¹¹ Then Moyses besoughte the Lorde hys God and sayde: O Lorde, why shoulde thy wrath waxe hote vpon thy people whiche thou hast brought out of the Lande of Egipt wt great power and with a mighty hande? ¹² wherfore shuld the Egyptians speake & say: For a mychefe dyd he brynge them out: euen for to slee them in the mountayns, and to consume them from the face of the earth. Turne from thy fearse wrath, and haue compassion ouer the wickednesse of thy people. ¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel thy seruauntes, to whom thou sworest by thyne owne selfe & saidest vnto them. I wyll multiplye youre seed as the starres of heauen, and all thys lande which I haue sayd, I wyll geue vnto youre seede: and they shal enheret it for euer ¹⁴ And the Lord refrained him selfe from the euil whych he sayed he wold do vnto his people.

² and all the chyldren of Israell murmured agaynst Moses and Aaron. And the whole congregacion sayde vnto them: wolde God that we had dyed in the land of Egypt, eyther we wold that we had dyed in thys wyldernesse.

¹³ And Moses sayd vnto the Lorde: then the Egyptians shall heare it, for thou broughtest thys people wyth thy myghte from among them. ¹⁴ And it wylbe told to the inhabiters of thys land also, for they haue heard likewyse, that thou the Lord arte among thys people, & that thou art sene face to face, and that thy cloude standeth ouer them & that thou goest before them by day tyme in a pyller of a cloud and in a pyller of fire by night. ¹⁵ If thou shalt kyl al thys people as they were but one man then the nacions which haue herde the fame of the, wyl speake saying: ¹⁶ because the Lorde was not able to brynge in thys people in to the land which he sware vnto them, therfore he slewe them in the wyldernesse. ¹⁷ So nowe let the power of my Lorde be greate, acordyng as thou hast spoken saying: ¹⁸ the Lord is longe year he be angrye, and ful of mercy, and suffereth synne and trespace, and leaueth no man innocent, and vysyteth the vnrighteousnesse of the fathers vpon the chyldren, euen vpon the thyrd and fourth generacion, ¹⁹ be mercyfull I beseche the therfore vnto the synne of thys people according vnto thy greate mercy, and accordyng as thou hast forgeuen thys people from Egypt euen vnto thys place. ²⁰ And the Lorde sayde: I haue forgeuen it, accordyng to thy request.

⁴¹ And on the morrowe all the multitude of the chyldren of Israell murmured agaynste Moses and Aaron sayinge: ye haue kylled the people of the Lorde.

⁴⁶ And Moses sayd vnto Aaron: take a censer, and put fyre therein out of the alter, and poure on cense, and go quickely vnto the congregation and make an atonement for them For there is wrath gone out from the Lord and ther is a plage begone. ⁴⁷ And Aaron toke as Moses commaunded hym, and ran vnto the congregation, & beholde, the plage was begonne amonge the people, and he putt on cense, & made an atonemente for the people. ⁴⁸ And he stode betwene the deade, & them that were a lyue and the plage ceased. ⁴⁹ And the numbre of them that dyed in the plage, were .xiiij. thousand and seuen hundred: beside them that dyed about the busines of Corah. ⁵⁰ And Aaron wente againe vnto Moses vnto the dore of the Tabernacle of wytnesse, and the plage ceased.

²³ Moreouer God forbydde that I shulde synne agaynste the Lorde in leuyng praiyng for you and to shewe you the good and ryghte way.

¹¹ it repenteth me that I haue made Saul King. For he is turned from me, & hath not parformed my commaundementes, wherfore Samuel was euyl apayde & cryed vnto the Lord all nyght.

²⁶ the mone shall shyne as the sunne, and the sunne shyne shalbe seuen folde, and haue as much shyne, as in seuen dayes besyde. In that daye shall the Lorde bynde vp the brosed sores of hys people, and heale theyr woundes.

¹⁴ Heale me, O Lord, and I shall be whole: saue thou me, and I shalbe saued, for thou art my prayse.

⁴⁴ But I say vnto you loue your enemies. Blesse theim that cursse you. Do good to them that hate you. Pray for them which doo you wronge and persecute you, ⁴⁵ that ye may be the chyldren of youre father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sonne to aryse on the yuyll, and on the good and sendeth his raine on the iust and vniust.

²⁸ Blesse them that coursse you. And praye for them which wrongfully trouble you.

³⁴ Then said Iesus: father forgeue them, for they wote not what they do. And they parted his rayment, and cast lottes.

⁶⁰ And he kneled doune and cryed with a loude voice: Lord laye not thys sinne to their charge. And when he had thus spoken: he fel a slepe.

²¹ Be not ouercome of euyl: But ouercome euil with goodnesse.

¹⁵ and the prayer of fayth shall saue the sicke, & the Lorde shall rayse hym vp: and yf he haue commytted synnes, they shalbe forgeuen him.

⁸ And he that is clensed shall wasshe hys clothes and shaue of al hys heyre, and wash him self in water, and then he is cleane. And after that he shall come into the hoste, but shall tarye wythout hys tent seuen dayes.

² commaunde the chyldren of Israel that they put out of the host, al the leapers & all that haue yssues and al that are defyled vpon the dead, ³ whether they be males or females ye shall put them oute of the hoste, that they defyle not the tentes among whych ye dwell.

⁹ then let his syster in lawe go vnto hym in the presence of the elders and loose his shoo of his fote & spit in his face & answere and saye. So shall it be done vnto that man that wyll not byld his brothers house.

⁶ He hath made me as it were a byworde of the comon people. I am hys gestynge stocke amonge them.

¹⁰ they abhorre me, they fle far from me, and stayne my face with spetle.

⁶ but I offre my backe vnto the smyters, & my chekes to the uyppers. I turne not my face from shame & spyttynge,

⁶⁷ Then spat they in hys face and boffeted hym wyth fistes. And other smot hym with the palme of theyr handes

⁹ Moreouer seynge we had fathers of oure fleshe whiche corrected vs, and we gaue them reuerence: shoulde we not muche rather be in subieccyon vnto the father of spyrytuall gyftes, that we myght lyue?

²¹ & dranke of the wyne & was droncke, and lay vncouered in the middest of hys tent. ²² And Ham the father of Canaan sawe hys fathers priueties, and told hys .ij. brethren that were without. ²³ And Sem and Iapheth toke a mantyll, & put it on boeth theyr shoulders and went bacward, & couered theyr fathers secretes, but theyr faces were backewarde, so that they sawe not theyr fathers nakednes.

¹² Honour thy father & thy mother, that thy dayes may be longe in the lande which the Lorde thy God geueth the.

⁸ Take heade to thy selfe as concernynge the plage of leprosye, that thou obserue dyligently to do accordyng to all that the Preastes the Leuites shall teache the, as I commaunded them so ye shal obserue to do. ⁹ Remembre what the Lord thy God dyd vnto Miriam by the waye, after that ye were come out of Egypte.

³² But though he do cast of, yet accordynge to the multitude of hys mercyes, he receyueth to grace agayne.

⁸ O thou enemye of myne, reioyce not at my fal, for I shal get vp agayne: and thoughe I syt in my darckenesse, yet the Lorde is my lyght. ⁹ I wyl beare the punyshment of the Lorde (for why? I haue offended hym) tyll he sit in iudgement vpon my cause, and se that I haue ryghte. He wyll brynge me forth to the lyght, & I shall se hys ryghtuousnesse.

² O Lord, when I hearde speake of the, I was afrayed. The worck that thou hast taken in hande, shalt thou perfourme in his tyme (O Lord): and when thy time commeth, thou shalte declare it. In thy verye wrath thou thinckest vpon mercye.

²¹ And he dwelt in the wyldernesse of Pharan. And his mother got him a wyfe out of the land of Egypte.

¹² And the chyldren of Israel toke their iourney out of the deserte of Sinai, and the cloude rested in the wyldernesse of Pharan.

³⁵ And the people toke theyr iourney from kibrath hathauah vnto hazeroth, and bode at hazeroth.

³ And Moses at the commaundement of the Lorde sent forth out of the wyldernesse of Pharan: soche men as were all heades among the chyldren of Israell, whose names are these.

²⁶ And they went and came to Moses and Aaron & vnto all the multitude of the chyldren of Israell, vnto the wyldernesse of Pharan: euen vnto Cades, and broughte them worde and also vnto all the congregation, and shewed them the frute of the lande.

¹⁸ And they departed from Hazeroth, and pytched in Rithma.

¹ And then Samuel dyed, and all Israel gathered together and lamented hym and buryed him in his owne house at Ramath. And Dauid arose and gat hym to the wildernesse of Pharan.

³ God commeth from Theman, and the holye one from the mounte of Pharan Selah. Hys glory couereth the heauens, and the earthe is full of hys prayse.
