³ Wherfore hath the Lorde brought vs vnto thys lande to fall vpon the swerde, that both oure wyues, and also our chyldren shoulde be a praye? is it not better that we retourne vnto Egypt agayne?

³¹ And your children which ye said should be a praye, them I wyl bryng in, and they shall knowe the lande which ye haue refused, ³² and youre carkesses shall lye in this wyldernesse

⁴⁰ O how ofte haue they greued hym in the wyldernesse? How many a tyme haue they prouoked hym in the deserte?

³ They bende theyr tunges lyke bowes, to shute oute lyes. As for the trueth, they may nothynge awaye with all in the worlde. For they go from one wyckednes to another, & hold nothinge of me, sayeth the Lorde.
