² this is the ordinaunce of the lawe whiche the Lorde commaundeth sayinge, speake vnto the chyldren of Israell and let them take the a redde kowe wythout spotte wherin is no blemish and whyche neuer bare yocke vpon hyr.

⁵ A shepe without spot & a male of one yere olde shal it be, and from amonge the lambes and the gootes shal ye take it.

⁶ And the Preast shall take the lyuyng byrde and the cedar wood and the purple & the ysope, & shall dyppe them and the lyuyng byrde in the bloude of the slayne byrde, & in the renning water

²⁰ let them offer nothyng that is deformed for they shall gett no fauoure therwyth. ²¹ If a man wil offer a peace offryng vnto the Lord and separate a vowe or a frewyll offeryng of the oxen or the flocke, it must be wtout deformyte, that it may be accepted. There maye be no blemysh therin: ²² whether it be blynd, broken, wounded or haue a wen, or be maunge or scabbed, se that ye offre no suche vnto the Lord, nor put an offeryng of any such vpon the alter vnto the Lord. ²³ An oxe or a shepe that hath any membre out of proporcion, mayst thou offer for a frewyllofferyng: but in a vowe it shall not be accepted. ²⁴ Thou shalt not offer vnto the lord that whych is broosed, broken, plucked out or cutt awaye, nether shalt make any soche in youre lande, ²⁵ nether of a straungers hand shall ye offer an offeryng to your GOD of any soch. For they marre all in that they haue deformities in them, and therfore can not be accepted for you.

⁶ And let the priest take Cedar wodd, and Isope and purple cloth, and cast it vpon the kowe as she burneth.

²¹ And Eleazar the Preast sayde vnto al the men of warre which went out to battel: this is the ordinaunce of the law which the Lord commaunded Moses:

³ And let the elders of that citie which is next vnto the slayne man, take an heyffer that is not laboured wt nor hath drawen in the yocke,

⁷ Now therfore make a newe carte and take two mealche kyne, on whose neck neuer came yocke. And tye the kyne in the carte, & brynge the calues whome from them.

¹⁸ Nowe go to (sayth the Lorde) we will talke together. Is it not so? Thoughe youre synnes be as reade as scarlet, shal they not be whyther then snowe? And though they were lyke purple, shall they not be lyke white wolle?

¹⁴ Nun. The yocke of my transgressyon is come at the last, with his hande hath he taken it vp, & put it aboute my neck. My strength is gone: the Lorde hath delyuered me in to those handes, wherout I can not quyte my selfe.

¹³ Now say ye: It is but laboure and trauail, and thus haue ye thought scorne at it (sayeth the Lorde of hostes) offeryng robbery, yea, the lame and the sicke. Ye haue brought me in a meatoffering, shoulde I accepte it of youre hande, sayeth the Lorde? ¹⁴ Cursed be the dissembler, which hath in his flocke one that is male and when he maketh a vowe, offereth a spoted one vnto the lord. For I am a great king (sayeth the Lorde of hostes) and my name is fearfull amonge the Heathen.

³⁵ And the aungell aunswered and sayd vnto her: The holye ghoste shall come vnto the, and the power of the hyest shall ouer shadowe the. Therfore also that holye thynge whiche shall be borne shalbe called the sonne of God.

¹⁷ Therfore doth my father loue me, because I put my lyfe from me, that I myght take it agayne. ¹⁸ Noman taketh it from me, but I put it awaye of my selfe. I haue power to put it from me, and haue power to take it agayne. Thys commaundemente haue I receyued of my father.

⁶ Whiche beinge in the shap of God, and thought it not robbery to be equal wt God. ⁷ Neuerthelesse he made hym selfe of no reputation, & toke on him the shap of a seruaunt, and became lyke vnto men, ⁸ and was founde in hys aparell as a man. He humbled hym selfe, and became obediente vnto the death euen the death of the crosse.

²⁶ Suche an hye Prieste it became vs to haue which is holy, harmlesse, vndefyled, separate from synners, and made hyer then heauen.

¹⁰ wyth onelye meates and drynkes and dyuers washynges and iustifiynges of the fleshe, whyche were ordeyned vntyll the tyme of reformacyon.

¹⁹ but wyth the precyous bloud of christ as of a lambe vndefyled, and wythout spotte,

²² whiche dyd no synne, neyther was there gyle founde in hys mouth:

⁵ and from Iesus Christ, whiche is a faythfull wytnes, and fyrst begotten of the dead, and Lorde ouer the kynges of the earth. Vnto him, that loued vs and washed vs from synnes in his owne bloude,
