⁶ The synne of the wycked is his owne snare, but the ryghtuons shall be glad and reioyse.

¹ Then Moses and the chyldren of Israel sange thys songe vnto the Lord & sayd. Let vs synge vnto the Lorde, for he is become gloryous, the horsse & hym that rode vpon him hath he ouerthrowne in the sea.

⁷ His presumptuous goinges shall be kepte in, and his owne councell shal cast hym downe. ⁸ For his fete shalbe taken in the nett, and he shall walke in the snare. ⁹ His fote shalbe holden in the gilder, and the thrustie shall catch him. ¹⁰ The snare is layed for him in the grounde, and a pitfall in the waye.

⁶ Vpon the vngodly he shall rayne snares, fyre, brymstone, storme and tempest: thys rewarde shall they haue to drynke.

¹¹ There is sprong vp a lighte for the ryghteous, and a ioyfull gladnesse for suche as be true herted.

¹⁵ The voice of ioy and meyth is in the dwellynges of the rightuous, for the ryght hand of the Lord hath gotten the victory.

¹⁶ I wyl decke her Preastes with health and her saynctes shall reioyse and be glad.

²² The wyckednesses of the vngodly shal catch him selfe, and with the snares of of his owne synnes shall he be trapped.

⁵ The rightuousnes of the innocent ordereth his way, but the vngodly shall fall in his owne wyckednesse. ⁶ The rightuousnes of the iuste shall delyuer them, but the despisers shalbe taken in their owne vngodlynesse.

¹³ The wicked falleth into the snare thorow the malyce of his own mouth, but the iust shal escape out of parel.

¹² For a man knoweth not his tyme, but like as the fishes are taken wyth the angle and as the byrdes are catched with the snare Euen so are men taken in the perilous time, when it commeth sodenly vpon them.

¹⁴ For he is the sanctifyeng, and stone to stomble at the rocke to fall vpon, a snare and net to both the houses, to Israell, and the inhabitours of Ierusalem. ¹⁵ And many shall stomble, fall, & be broken vpon him: yea they shalbe snared and taken.

² by whom we haue a waye in thorowe fayeth vnto thys grace where in we stande & reioye in hope of the prayse that shalbe geuen of God. ³ Nether do we so only: but also we reioice in tribulacion. For we know that tribulation bryngeth pacience,

²⁶ that they may come to them selues agayne out of the snare of the deuyll, whiche are nowe taken of hym at hys wyll.

² My brethren, count it excedyng ioye when ye fal into dyuers temptacyons,

⁸ whome ye haue not sene, and yet loue hym, in whome euen nowe, thoughe ye se hym not, yet do you beleue: and reioyce with ioye vnspeakeable and gloryous:

⁴ And this wryte we vnto you that youre ioye may be ful.
