³ Be ye sure, that the Lord he is God: It is he that hath made vs, and not we our selues: we are but his people, and the shepe of his pastoure.

³⁵ Vnto the it was shewed, that thou mightest know, howe that the lorde he is God & that there is none but he.

³⁹ Vnderstand therefore thys daye & turne it to thyne herte, that the Lord he is God in heauen aboue, & vpon the earth beneth there is no mo:

⁹ Vnderstande therefore, that the Lord thy God he is god & that a true god, which kepeth pointment and mercy vnto them that loue him and kepe hys commaundementes, euen thorowe oute a thousande generations

⁴⁶ This day shal the Lorde delyuer the into my hande, and I shall smyte the and take thyne head from the, and I will geue the karcases of the hoste of the Philistines this day vnto the foules of the ayre and to the beastes of the earth, and al the worlde shal knowe, that there is a God in Israel. ⁴⁷ And al this congregacyon shal know, that the Lorde saueth not wyth the swerde and speare. For the battel is the Lordes, and he shal geue you into oure handes.

³⁶ And when offeringe time was come, Eliah the prophete went to and sayde: Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and of Israel, let it be knowen thys daye, that thou art the God in Israel, and that I am thy seruaunt, and that I do al these thinges at thy commaundement. ³⁷ Heare me O lorde, heare me, that this people may know, that thou lord, art the God, and that thou hast turned their hertes backward. ³⁸ And there fell fire from the Lorde, and consumed the sacryfice & the wood and the stones & the dust, & lycked vp the water that was in the gutter. ³⁹ And when all the people sawe that, they fel on theyr faces & sayde: the Lorde he is God, the lord he is God.

¹⁹ Nowe therfore Lorde our God, saue thou vs oute of his hande, that all the kingdomes of the earth may knowe, that thou Lorde art God alone.

³ Thynkeste thou it well done, to oppresse me, to caste me of (beinge a worke of thy handes) and to manteyne the councell of the vngodly?

⁸ Thy handes haue made me, and fashoned me altogether roundabout wilt thou then destroye my sodenlye? ⁹ O remembre (I beseke the) how that thou madest me of the mould of the earth, and shalt bring me to earth agayne. ¹⁰ Hast thou not milked me, as it were milck: and turned me to cruddes lyke chese? ¹¹ Thou hast couered me wyth skynne and fleshe, and ioyned me together wyth bones & synowes. ¹² Thou hast graunted me life, & done me good and the diligent hede that thou tokeste vpon me, hath preserued my sprite. ¹³ Though thou hidest these thinges in thine hert, yet am I sure, that thou remembrest them all.

⁴ Which saye: oure tonge shoulde preuayle we are they that oughte too speake, who is Lord ouer vs?

¹⁰ Be styll then and confesse that I am God I will be exalted amonge the Heythen, and I will be exalted vpon earth.

¹ An instruccion of Asaph. O God, wherfore doest thou cast vs so cleane away? why is thy wrath so hoote agaynste the shepe of thy pasture? ² O thynke vpon thy congregacion, whome thou hast purchased from the beginnyng: the stafe of thyne enheritaunce, whome thou hast redemed, euen this hyll of Sion wherein thou dwellest.

⁵² But as for his owne people, he lead them forth lyke shepe, and caried them in the wyldernesse lyke a flocke.

¹³ So we that be the people and shepe of thy pasture, shall geue the thanckes for euer, and wyll all waye be shewynge forth thy prayse more and more.

³ For the Lord is a great God, and a great kyng aboue all Goddes.

⁶ O come, let vs worshippe & bowe doune our selfes: Let vs knele before the Lord our maker. ⁷ For he is oure God: & we are the people of his pasture, and the shepe of his handes. To daye if ye wil heare his voyce,

⁷³ Iod. Thy hands haue made me and fashyoned me, O geue me vnderstandyng, that I may learne thy commaundementes.

¹³ For my reynes are thyne, thou hast couered me in my mothers wombe. ¹⁴ I will geue thankes vnto the, for I am wonderously made: maruelous are thy workes, & that my soule knoweth right well. ¹⁵ My bones are not hyd from the, though I be made secretly, and fashyoned beneth in the earth. ¹⁶ Thyne eyes se myne vnperfectnesse, they stande all written in thy boke: my dayes were fashyoned, when as yet there was not one of them. ¹⁷ How deare are thy counsails vnto me O God? O how greate is the summe of them? ¹⁸ If I tell them, they are mo in numbre then the sande: when I wake vp, I am presente with the. ¹⁹ Wylt thou not slaye the wycked (Oh God) that the bloudthyrsty myghte departe fro me? ²⁰ For they speake vnright of the, thyne enemyes exalte them selfes presumpteously. ²¹ I hate them, O Lorde, that hate the: and I maye not awaye wyth those that ryse vp agaynst the. ²² Yea I hate them right sore, therefore are they myne enemyes. ²³ Trye me, O God, and seke the grounde of myne herte: proue me, and examen my thoughtes. ²⁴ Loke well if there be any way of wickednesse in me, and leade me in the way euerlastynge.

² Let Israell reioyse in hym that made hym, & let the chyldren of Sion be ioyfull in their kyng.

¹ Remembre thy maker in thy youth, or euer the dayes of aduersitie come, and or the yeares drawe nye, when thou shalt saye: I haue no pleasure in them

⁹ Go vp vnto the hyll (O Sion) thou tha bryngest good tydynges, lyft vp thy voyce with power, O thou preacher Ierusalem. Lyft it vp without feare, & saye vnto the cities of Iuda: Beholde youre God, ¹⁰ beholde the Lorde, euen the Allmyghtie shall come with power, and beare rule with hys arme. Beholde, he bryngeth his treasure with hym, & hys worckes go before hym. ¹¹ He shall fede his flock lyke an herdman. He shall gather the lambes together with his arme, and carie them in hys bosome, and shall kyndlye intreate those that beare yonge.

¹¹ Yet remembred he the olde tyme of Moses and hys people: How he brought them from the water of the sea, as a sheperde doth wyth his shepe: how he had geuen his holy spyryte amonge them:

¹⁹ And we are become euen as we were from the beginninge: but thou art not their Lorde, for they haue not called vpon thy name.

¹⁰ But the Lorde is a true God, a lyuynge God, and an euerlastinge kyng. Yf he be wroth, the earthe shaketh: all the Gentiles maye not abyde his indygnacyon.

¹¹ For thus sayth the Lord god: Beholde, I will loke to my shepe my selfe, & seke them.

³⁰ Thus shal they vnderstand that I the Lorde theyr God am with them, & that they (euen the house of Israel) are my people, sayeth the Lorde God. ³¹ Ye men are my flocke, ye are the shepe of my pasture: and I am youre God, sayeth the Lorde God.

¹⁴ I am that good shepeherde, and knowe myne and am knowen of myne. ¹⁵ As my father knoweth me, euen so knowe I my father. And I geue my lyfe for the shepe: ¹⁶ and other shepe I haue whiche are not of thys folde. Them also muste I brynge that they maye heare my voyce, and that there maye be one flocke, and one shepeherde.

²⁶ But ye beleue not because ye are not of my shepe. As I said vnto you: ²⁷ my shepe heare my voice, & I know them, and they folowe me, ²⁸ and I geue vnto them eternall lyfe, and they shall neuer perish neyther shall any man plucke them out of my hande.

³ This is lyfe eternall that they myghte knowe, the that onely very God, and whome thou haste sente Iesus Christ.

²³ For as I passed by, and behelde the master, howe ye worshyppe youre Goddes, I founde an Altare wherein was wrytten: vnto the vnknowen God. Whom ye then ignorauntelye worshyppe hym, shew I vnto you. ²⁴ God that made the worlde, and all that are in it, seynge that he is Lorde of heauen and earth, he dwelleth not in temples made with handes, neyther is worshypped wt mennes handes,

²⁸ Take hede therfore vnto youre selues, and to all the flocke wherof the holy ghoste hath made you ouersears, to rule the congregacyon of God, which he hath purchased wt hys bloude. ²⁹ For I am sure of this, that after my departing shall greuous wolues enter in amonge you, which wyll not spare the flocke.

¹⁹ Either knowe ye not howe that youre bodies are the temple of the holye ghoste, whyche is in you, whome ye haue of God, and how that ye are not your owne? ²⁰ For ye are dearlye boughte. Therfore glorifye ye God in youre bodyes, and in youre spyrytes, for they are Goddes.

⁶ For it is God that commaunded the lighte to shyne out of darknes, whiche hath shyned in oure hertes, for to geue the lyghte of the knoweledge of the glorye of God, in the face of Iesus Christe.

⁸ Notwithstandynge when ye knewe not God ye dyd seruyce vnto them, which by nature were no Goddes. ⁹ But nowe seynge, ye knowe God (yea rather are knowen of God) how is it that ye turne agayne to the weake & beggerly ceremonies, wherevnto agayne ye desyre a freshe to be in bondage?

¹⁰ For we are his worckmanshyp created in Christe Iesus to good workes, vnto the, whyche God ordeined vs before, that we should walke in them.

⁹ But ye are a chosen generacyon, a royall priesthode, an holye nacyon and a peculyar people that ye shoulde shewe the vertues of hym that called you oute of darkenes into his marueylous lyght,

²⁵ For ye were as shepe goynge astraye: but are nowe returned to the shepeherde and byshop of your soules.

¹⁹ Wherfore let them that suffer according to the wil of God, commit their soules to him with wel doing, as vnto a faythfull creator.

² se that ye fede Christes flocke, which is amonge you, takinge the ouersight of them, not as though ye were compelled therto, but wyllingly, not for the desire of fylthy lucre, but of a good minde, ³ not as though ye were Lordes ouer the parishes, but that ye be an ensample to the flocke. ⁴ And when the chiefe shephearde shal appere, ye shal receiue an incorruptible crowne of glorie.

²⁰ We know, that the sonne of God is come, & hath geuen vs a minde to know him which is true, & we are in him, that is true thorowe his sonne Iesus Christ. This same is verye God, and eternal lyfe.
