²⁵ Thou Lorde in the beginnyng hast layed the foundacion of the earth, and the heauens are the workes of thy handes.

¹ In the beginnynge GOD created heauen and erth.

¹ Thus was heauen and erth fynyshed with all their apparel,

¹¹ For in sixe dayes the Lord made both heauen & earth & the sea & all that in them is and rested the seuenth day: wherfore the Lord blessed the Sabbath daye and halowed it.

⁴ Where wast thou, when I layde the foundacyons of the earth? Tel planely yf thou hast vnderstandyng. ⁵ Who hath measured it, knoweste thou? Or, who hath spreade the lyne vpon it? ⁶ Wherevpon stande the pylers of it? Or who layed the corner stone? ⁷ Where wast thou when the mornyng starres praysed me together & all the chyldren of God reioysed triumphantly?

⁵ As for all the goddes of the Heathen, they be but Idols, but it is the Lorde that made the heauens.

²³ I haue bene ordeyned from euerlasting, & from the beginning or euer the earthe was made. ²⁴ When I was borne, there were nether depthes nor springs of water. ²⁵ Before the foundacions of the mountaynes were layed, yea, before al hylles was I borne. ²⁶ The earth & all that is vpon the earth was not yet made, no not the grounde it selfe. ²⁷ For when he made the heauens, I was present: when he sette vp the depthes in ordre: ²⁸ when he hanged the cloudes aboue: when he fastened the sprynges of the depe: ²⁹ When he shut the sea within certayn boundes, that the waters should not go ouer their markes. When he layed the foundacions of the earth ³⁰ I was with hym, ordering all thinges, delytynge dayly, and reioysinge all waye before hym. ³¹ As for the rounde compase of his worlde, I make it ioyfull: for my delyte is to be among the chyldren of men. ³² Therfore herken vnto me, O ye chyldren, for blessed are they that kepe my wayes. ³³ O geue eare vnto nurtour, be wyse, and refuse it not. ³⁴ Blessed is the man that heareth me, watchynge dayly at my gates, & geuynge attendaunce at the postes of my dores. ³⁵ For who so findeth me, findeth life and shall obtayne fauour of the Lorde. ³⁶ But who so offendeth agaynste me, hurteth hys owne soule. All they that hate me, are the louers of death.

They all shal wexe olde as doth a garment, ¹² and as a vesture shalt thou chaunge them, and they shalbe chaunged. But thou arte alwayes, and thy yeares shal not fayle.

³ And yet was this man counted worthy of more glorye then Moyses: In as muche as he which hath prepared the house hath most honoure in the house. ⁴ Euery house is prepared of some man. But he that ordeyned al thinges is God.
