²⁰ Let it thus happen from the Lorde vnto myne enemyes, and to those that speake euel agaynst my soule.

²³ And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not folowed, he sadelleth his asse, and arose, & gate hym home to hys owne house and to his own cytye, and put his housholde in order and hanged him selfe and dyed, and was buryed in the sepulchre of hys father.

³² And the kyng said to Chusi: is the lad Absalom safe? And Chusi answered: the enemies of my Lorde the kynge and all that ryse agaynst the, to haue the, be as thy lad is.

⁴⁴ And then the kinge sayde to Semei: thou remembrest all the wyckednesse whych thyne hert knoweth that thou diddest to Dauid my father. The Lorde therfore render agayn thy wyckednesse vpon thyne owne heade:

⁵ Then shal he speake vnto them in hys wrath, and vexe them in hys sore displeasure. ⁶ Yet haue I sette my kyng vpon my holy hyll of syon.

¹² Kysse the sonne, lest the Lorde be angrye and so ye peryshe from the ryght way. For his wrath shalbe kindled shortly: blessed are all they that put their trust in hym.

⁸ Let all thyne enemyes fele thy hande: let thy right hande fynde out all theym that hate the. ⁹ Thou shalt make them like a fyry ouen in tyme of thy wrath: the Lorde shall destroye them in hys displeasure, and the fyre shal consume them. ¹⁰ Their frute shalte thou rote oute of the earth, and their sede from amonge the chyldren of men. ¹¹ For they intended mischief agaynst the, & ymagined suche deuyces, as they were not able to perfourme. ¹² Therfore shalte thou put them to flighte, & with thy strynges thou shalte make ready thyne arrowes agaynst the faces of them.

¹⁴ Let them be ashamed and confunded, that seke after my soule, to destroye it: let them fall backwarde and be put to confusion, that wish me euell. ¹⁵ Let them soone be broughte to shame, that crye ouer me, there there.

¹⁰ For myne enemyes speake agaynst me & they that laye wayte for my soule, take their councell together,

²³ He shall recompence them their wickednesse, & destroye them in their owne malyce: yea, the Lorde our God shall destroy them.

¹ A Psalme of Dauyd. The Lorde sayde vnto my Lord: Syt thou on my ryght hande, vntyll I make thyne enemies thy fotestole.

⁵ The Lorde vpon thy ryghte hande, shall smyte euen kinges in the daye of hys wrath. ⁶ He shall be iudge amonge the Heathen, he shall fyl them wyth deade bodyes, and smite in sunder the heades ouer diuerse countres.

¹⁹ The sonne of man came eatinge and drynking, and they saye, beholde a glutton and drinker of wine, and a frende vnto publicans and synners. Neuerthelater wysdome is iustifyed of her children.

⁶⁶ what thynke ye? They answered and said: he is worthy to dye. ⁶⁷ Then spat they in hys face and boffeted hym wyth fistes. And other smot hym with the palme of theyr handes

³⁹ But Iesus sayd forbid him not. For there is no man that shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speake euill of me.

²⁷ Moreouer those myne enemyes which woulde not that I should raigne ouer them, brynge hyther, and slea them before me.

³ Wherfore I declare vnto you, that no man speakinge in the spirite of God, defieth Iesus. Also no man saye that Iesus is the Lorde: but by the holye ghoste.

¹⁵ Which as they kylled the Lorde Iesus and theyr owne prophetes, euen so haue they persecuted vs, and God they please not, and are contrarye to all men, ¹⁶ and forbid vs to preache vnto the Gentyls, that they might be saued to fulfyll theyr synnes alwaye. For the wrathe of God is come on them, euen to the vtmost.
