¹ Prayse the euerlastynge. O synge vnto the Lorde a newe songe, let the congregacion of saynctes prayse hym. ² Let Israell reioyse in hym that made hym, & let the chyldren of Sion be ioyfull in their kyng. ³ Let them prayse his name in the daunce, let them singe prayses vnto hym with tabrettes and harpes. ⁴ For the Lorde hath pleasure in hys people, and helpeth the meke harted. ⁵ Let the saynctes be ioyfull with glory, let them reioyse in their beddes. ⁶ Let the prayses of God be in their mouth and sharpe swerdes in their handes. ⁷ To be auenged of the Heathen, and to rebuke the people. ⁸ To bynde their Kynges in cheynes, and their nobles with lynckes of yron. ⁹ That they may be auenged of them, as it is written, such honour haue all his saynctes. ²⁰ And MirIam a Prophetisse the syster of Aaron toke a tymbrell in her hand, & all the woman came out after her with tymbrels in a daunse.

¹ When the Lorde thy God hathe brought the into the land whither thou goest to possesse it, & hast coste out manye nations before the: the Hethytes, the Gergesites, the Amorites, the Cananites, the Pheresites, the Heuites, and the Iebusites .vij. nacions moo in numbre & mightier then thou: ² and when the Lord thy God hath sett them before the that thou shouldest smyt them se that thou vtterly destroye them and make no couenaunt with theym nor haue compassyon vppon theym. Also thou shalte make no maryages wyth theim,

⁶ For thou art an holy nacion vnto the Lorde thy God, the Lorde thy God hath chosen the to be a seuerall people vnto hym selfe of al nations that are vpon the erth. ⁷ It was not bicause of the multitude of you aboue al nations, that the Lord had lust vnto you and chose you. For ye were fewest of all nations.

⁷ And there ye shall eate before the Lord your God, and ye shal reioyce in al that you lay your handes on, boeth ye and your housholdes, bicause the Lord thy God hath blessed the.

⁴² I wyl make myne arowes dronken with bloud, and my swerde shal eate fleshe of the bloude of the slayne & of the captyue and of the bare head of the enemy. ⁴³ Prayse ye heathen hys people, for he wil auenge the bloude of hys seruauntes, & wyl auenge hym of his aduersaries, and wyll be merciful vnto the land of hys people.

²³ And they dyd so, & brought those fyue Kinges vnto him, out of the caue? the Kinge of Ierusalem, the King of Hebron, the Kinge of Ierimoth the Kinge of Lachys, and the Kynge of Eglon. ²⁴ And when they had brought out these kinges vnto Iosua: Iosua called for all the men of Israel, and sayde vnto the capytaynes of the men of warre, whych came wyth hym, come neare & put youre fete vpon the neckes of these kinges. And they came neare & put their fete vpon the neckes of them.

⁷ These are the Kynges of the countrey, which Iosua and the chyldren of Israel smote on this syde Iordan, westwarde, from Baal, Gad in the valeye of Lybanon, euen vnto mount Halak, that goeth vp to Seir. And Iosua gaue the lande vnto the trybes of Israell to possesse, to euery man his parte,

⁶ But Adonibezek fled, and they folowed after him, & caught him, and cut of hys thombes and hys greate toes. ⁷ Then Adonibezek sayd: thre score & .x. kynges hauynge theyr thombes & greate toes cut of, gathered theyr meate vnder my table: wherfore as I haue done so, God hath done to me agayne. And they brought him to Ierusalem and there he dyed.

²³ Curse Meroz bad the angell of the Lorde Curse, Curse the enhabytours therof because they came not forth to helpe the Lorde, to help the Lorde amonge the myghtye.

³⁴ Then Iephthah came to Mazphah vnto hys house. And se, his doughter came oute agaynste hym, wyth tymberelles & daunses, which was his onely child, so that beside her, he had neyther sonne nor doughter.

²² But the Lorde wyl not forsake hys people, because of hys great names sake: because the Lorde had begonne to make you hys people.

¹⁸ And then the Lord sent the on a iourneye, & sayde vnto the, se that thou vtterlye destroye those synners, the Amaleckites & fyght agaynste them vntil ye haue vtterlye destroyed them. ¹⁹ And wherfore hast thou now not obeyed the voyce of the Lorde. But dydest turne to the praye & haste wrought wickednesse in the sight of the Lord? ²⁰ And Saule sayde vnto Samuel: I haue obeyed the voyce of the Lorde, and wente the waye which the Lord sent me, & haue brought Agag the Kynge of the Amaleckites. And haue vtterlye destroyed the Amaleckites. ²¹ And the people toke of the spoyle, shepe, oxen, and the chiefest of the thynges which shulde haue ben destroyed, to offer vnto the Lorde thy God in Galgal. ²² Then sayde Samuel: hath the Lorde as great pleasure in burnt sacryfyces & offerynges, as he hath that thou shouldest obeye hys voyce? Beholde, to obeye is better then offeryng, and to geue heade is better then the fat of rammes. ²³ For rebellyousnesse is as the synne of witchcrafte, & stoburnesse is wyckednesse and Idolatrye. Because therfore thou hast cast awaye the worde of the Lorde, therfore hath the Lorde caste awaye the also, from beynge Kynge.

¹⁴ And Dauid daunsed before the Lorde wyth all hys myght in a lynnen Ephod gyrde vnto hym.

¹⁶ And as the arcke of the Lorde came into the cytye of Dauid, Michol Sauls doughter loked thorowe a wyndowe, and saw Kynge Dauid spryng and daunse before the Lord, & therfore dyspysed hym in her hert.

²⁸ And al Israel brought the Arcke of the Lordes couenaunt wyth shoutynge and blowynge of hornes, & with trompettes and symbales that sounded, and wyth psalteries and harpes. ²⁹ And as the Arcke of the appoyntment of the Lorde came into the cytye of Dauid, Michol the doughter of Saul loked oute at a wyndowe: and when she sawe kynge Dauid daunsyng and playinge, she despysed him in her herte.

⁴² And wyth the sayde Heman and Iduthun were trompettes & soundyng simbales, & instrumentes of the melody of God. And the sonnes of Iduthun were porters.

⁶ All these were at the hande of their father to synge in the house of the lord with symbales, psalteries, and harpes in the seruyce of the house of God. And at the hand of the king was Asaph, Iduthun and Heman.

²⁵ And they set the Leuites in the house of the Lorde with symbales, psalteries and harpes accordynge to the commaundement of Dauid & of Gad the kynges sear of visions & of Nathan the prophete. For so was the coumaundement of the Lorde thorow the hande of his prophetes.

¹⁰ And when the buylders layd the foundacion of the temple of the Lorde, the pryestes stode in their aray, with trompettes. And the Leuites the children of Asaph with cymbales, to prayse the Lorde after the maner of Dauid kynge of Israel.

⁵ And the Leuites, Iesua, Cadmiel Bani, Hasabniah, Serebiah, Hodiah, Sebaniah, Phathahiah, sayde: stande vp, prayse the Lorde youre God for euer, & let thankes be geuen vnto the name of thy glorye, which excelleth all thankesgeuing & prayse.

¹⁰ For suche one neuer sayeth: Where is God that made me? & that shyneth vpon vs, that we myght prayse him in the nighte?

⁸ But yf they be layed in preson & cheynes, or bounde with the bondes of pouertye:

⁸ He trusted in God, let hym delyuer hym: let him helpe hym, if he will haue hym.

²² So wyll I declare thy name vnto my brethren, in the middest of the congregacion wyl I prayse the.

²⁵ I wyll prayse the in the great congregacion, and perfourme my vowes in the sighte of all them that feare the.

¹ A Psalme of Dauid. The Lord is my shepherde, I can want nothynge.

¹¹ And so thou hast turned my heuynesse into ioye: thou haste put of my sacke cloth, & gyrded me with gladnesse.

² Prayse the Lord with harpe: singe psalmes vnto him wyth the lute and instrument of ten strynges. ³ Singe hym a new songe, yea, sing lustely vnto hym, and with a good corage.

¹⁸ So will I geue the thanckes in the great congregacion, and prayse the among muche people.

²⁷ Let them also be glad and reioyse, that fauoure my righteous dealynge: yea, let them saye alwaye: blessed be the lord, whiche hath pleasure in the prosperitie of hys seruaunt.

⁸ The Lorde hath promysed hys louynge kyndnesse daylye, therfore will I prayse him in the night season, and make my prayer vnto the God of my lyfe.

⁶ O singe prayses, singe prayses vnto God O singe prayses, singe prayses vnto oure kynge.

⁵ My soule is satisfied euen as it were with mary and fatnesse, when my mouth prayseth the with ioyful lyps. ⁶ In my bedde wyll I remember the, and when I wake my talkynge shalbe of the.

¹⁷ I called vnto hym wyth my mouthe, and gaue hym prayses wyth my toung.

²⁶ O geue thankes vnto God the Lorde in the congregacion, for the welles of Israel.

² Take the Psalme, brynge hyther the tabret, the mery harpe & lute.

⁵ O Lorde the verye heauens shall prayse thy wonderous, worckes, yea and thy faythfulnes in the congregation of the saynctes.

¹⁷ And the glorious maiesty of the Lord our God be vpon vs: O prospere thou the worke of our handes vpon vs, O prospere thou our handy worke.

² To tell of thy louyng kyndnesse early in the mornyng. and of thy trueth in the night season.

⁶ O come, let vs worshippe & bowe doune our selfes: Let vs knele before the Lord our maker.

⁴ For the Lord is great, and can not worthely be praysed: he is more to be feared then all goddes.

¹ A Psalme. O synge vnto the Lorde a new song, for he hath done maruelous thynges. With hys owne ryght hande and with his holy arme hathe he gotten the victory.

¹ A Psalme of praise. O be ioiful in God (al ye landes) ² serue the Lorde with gladnes, come before his presence wyth ioye. ³ Be ye sure, that the Lord he is God: It is he that hath made vs, and not we our selues: we are but his people, and the shepe of his pastoure.

¹ Prayse the euerlastynge. I wyll geue thanckes vnto the Lorde wyth my whole herte: secretly amonge the faythful and in the congregacyon:

⁷ They haue handes, and handle not, fete haue they, but they cannot goo, neyther can they speake thorow their throte.

¹⁸ I wyll paye my vowes vnto the Lord in the syght of al his people,

² For his mercyfull kyndnes is euer more and more toward vs, and the truth of the Lorde eudureth for euer. Prayse the euerlasting.

¹⁵ The voice of ioy and meyth is in the dwellynges of the rightuous, for the ryght hand of the Lord hath gotten the victory.

¹⁶ I wyl decke her Preastes with health and her saynctes shall reioyse and be glad.

³ O prayse the lord for the lord is gracious: O sing prayses vnto hys name, for it is louely. ⁴ For why the Lorde hath chosen Iacob vnto hym selfe, and Israel for his owne possession.

² As for our harpes, we hanged them vpon the trees, that are therin. ³ Then they that led vs awaye captyue, requyred of vs a songe and melody in our heauynes: synge vs one of the songes of Syon. ⁴ How shall we synge the Lordes songe in a straunge land?

⁸ O daughter of Babilon, thou shalt come to mysery thyselfe: yea, happye shall he be, that rewardeth the as thou hast serued vs.

³ Great is the Lord, & maruelous worthy to be praysed, there is no ende of his greatenesse. ⁴ One generacion shall prayse thy workes vnto another, and declare thy power. ⁵ As for me I will be talkynge of thy worshyp, thy glory, thy prayse, and wonderous workes.

¹⁰ All thy workes prayse the (O Lorde) and thy saynctes geue thankes vnto the.

¹¹ But the Lordes delyte is in them that feare hym, and put their trust in his mercy.

¹ Prayse the euerlastyng. O prayse the Lorde of heauen, prayse hym in the heygth.

¹⁴ He exalteth the horne of his people, all hys saynctes shall prayse hym, the chyldren of Israell, euen the people that serueth him. Prayse the euerlastyng.

³ Prayse hym in the sounde of the trompet, prayse hym vpon the lute and harpe. ⁴ Prayse hym in the cymbales and daunse prayse hym vpon the strynges and pype. ⁵ Prayse hym vpon the weltuned cymbals prayse him vpon the loude cymbales.

²⁰ The Lord abhorreth a fayned hert, but he hath pleasur in them that are vndefiled.

²² I will stande vp against them (sayeth the Lorde of Hostes) and rote out the name & generacyon of Babylon (sayeth the Lorde) ²³ and wyll geue it to the Oiters, and wyl make water podles of it. And I wyll swepe them oute with the besome of destruccyon, sayeth the Lorde of Hostes.

¹⁰ Synge therfore vnto the Lorde, a newe songe of thanckes geuynge, blowe out hys prayse vnto the ende of the world. They that be vpon the sea, and all that is therin, prayse hym, the Iles and they that dwell in them.

⁷ O howe bewtyfull are the fete of the Embassytoure, that bryngeth the message from the mountaine, and proclameth peace, that bringeth the good tydynges, and preacheth health, and sayeth vnto Syon. Thy God is the kynge.

⁵ For he that made the, shalbe thy Lorde & husband (whose name is the Lorde of hostes) & thyne auenger shalbe euen the holy one of Israel, the Lorde of the whole worlde.

¹ The spirite of the Lorde God is with me, for the Lorde hath annointed me, & sent me, to preache good tydinges vnto the poore, that I myght binde vp the wounded hertes, that I myght preach delyueraunce to the captyue, and open the preson to them that are bounde: ² that I myght declare the acceptable yeare of the Lorde, and the daye of the vengeaunce of oure God: that I myghte comforte al them that are in heauynesse, ³ that I might geue vnto them that mourne in Sion bewtye in the steade of ashes, ioyful oyntment for syghing, pleasaunt rayment for an heauy mynde: That they might be called excellente in ryghteousnesse, a plantinge of the Lord for hym to reioyce in.

¹⁰ And therfore I am ioyful in the Lorde, and my soule reioyseth in my God. For he shall put vpon me the garment of health, & couer me with the mantle of righteousnes. He shal decke me lyke a brydegrom, and as a bryde that hath her apparell vpon her.

⁴ From this tyme forthe thou shalt neuer be called the forsaken, & thy land shal no more be called the wildernesse. But thou shalt be called Hephribah, & thy lande Beula: for the Lorde loueth the, and thy land shalbe inhabyted. ⁵ And lyke as a younge man taketh a doughter to mariage, so shall God mary him selfe vnto thy sonnes. And as a brydegrome is glad of his bride, so shall God reioyse ouer the.

¹¹ Beholde, the Lorde proclameth in the endes of the worlde: tell the doughter Syon: se, thy saluacyon commeth, beholde he bryngeth his treasure wyth hym, and hys worckes go before hym. ¹² For they whome the Lorde delyuereth, shalbe called the holy people: and as for the, thou shalt be named the greatly occupied, and not the forsaken.

¹³ Then shall the mayde reioyce in the daunce yea both yonge and olde folkes. For I wyll turne theyr sorowe into gladnesse, and wyll comforte them, and make them ioyfull, euen from theyr hertes.

⁴¹ Yea I wyll haue a lust and pleasure to do them good, and faythfully to plante them in this lande, with my whole herte, and with al my soule.

²⁶ They shall dwell safely therin, buylde houses, and plante vyneyardes: yea safely shal they dwel therin, when I haue punyshed all those, that despyse them rounde aboute: and then shall they knowe, that I am the Lorde theyr God.

³⁷ Then dyd I Nabuchodonosor loue, magnifye and prayse the kynge of heauen: for all hys worckes are true, and hys wayes righte. As for those that go on proudely, he is able to brynge them doune.

²³ Be glad then (O ye chyldren of Syon) & reioyse in the Lorde youre God, for he hathe geuen you a teacher of ryghtuousnes: and he it is that shall sende you doune shuwers of rayne, early and late in the fyrste moueth,

¹⁷ for the Lorde thy GOD is with the, it is he that hath power to saue: he hath a specyall pleasure in the, & a maruelous loue towarde the: yea, he reioyseth ouer the wyth gladnesse.

⁹ Reioyce thou greatly, O doughter Syon, be glad, O doughter Ierusalem. For lo, thy king commeth vnto the, euen the ryghteous & Sauioure: Lowly and simple is he, he rydeth vpon an asse, & vpon the foale of an asse.

¹³ For Iuda haue I bent out as a bowe for me, and Ephraim haue I fylled Thy sonnes (O Sion) will I rase vp againste the Grekes, & make the as a giauntes swearde: ¹⁴ the Lorde God shalbe sene aboue them, and his dartes shal go forth as the lyghteninge. The Lorde God shall blowe the trompet, and shall come forth as a storme oute of the south. ¹⁵ The Lorde of hostes shall defende them, they shall consume and deuoure, & subdue them with slyng stones. They shal dryncke & rage as it were thorow wyne. They shalbe fylled like the basens, & as the hornes of the aulter. ¹⁶ The Lorde their God shall delyuer them in the day, as the flock of his people: for the stones of his Sanctuary shalbe set vp in his land,

¹⁷ & loke what generacion vpon earth goeth not vp to Ierusalem for to worshippe the kinge (euen the Lorde of hostes) vpon the same shal come no rayne. ¹⁸ Yf the kinred of Egypt go not vp, and come not, it shall not rayne vpon them neyther. This shalbe the plage wherwith the Lorde wil smite al heathen, that come not vp to kepe the feast of tabernacles: ¹⁹ yea, this shalbe the sinne plage of Egipt, & the sinne plage of al people that go not vp to kepe the feast of tabernacles.

⁵ Tel ye the doughter of Sion: beholde thyne kyng cometh vnto the meke, and sitting vpon an Asse and a colte, the fote of an Asse vsed to the yooke.

³⁴ Then shal the kinge saye to them on his right hand. Come ye blessed chyldren of my father, enheryte ye the kingdome prepared for you from the begynninge of the worlde.

¹⁴ Glory to God on hye, and peace on the earth: and vnto men reioysynge.

²⁷ Moreouer those myne enemyes which woulde not that I should raigne ouer them, brynge hyther, and slea them before me.

³⁸ saying: Blessed be the kyng that cometh in the name of the Lorde: peace in heauen, and glorye in the hyest.

¹⁵ They cryed, awaye wyth hym, awaye with hym, crucifye hym. Pylate sayd to them: Shall I crucifye your kynge? The hye Priestes aunswered: we haue no king but Cesar.

¹⁹ And Pylate wrote hys tytle and put it on the crosse. The wrytyng was Iesus of Nazareth, kynge of the Iewes. ²⁰ Thys tytle red manye of the Iewes. ¹² sayinge: I wyll declare thy name vnto my brethren and in the middes of the congregacion wil I praise the.

¹² For the word of God is quicke and myghty in operacion, and sharper then anye two edged swerde, and entreth through, euen vnto the diuiding a sonder of the soule and the spirite, and of the ioyntes and the marie, and iudgeth the thoughtes and the ententes of the herte:

¹⁰ And they verely for a few dayes, nurtered vs after their owne pleasure, but he learneth vs vnto that whiche is profytable that we myght receyue of hys holynes.

⁸ whome ye haue not sene, and yet loue hym, in whome euen nowe, thoughe ye se hym not, yet do you beleue: and reioyce with ioye vnspeakeable and gloryous:

⁴ but let the hyd man of the harte be vncorrupte with a meke and a quyete spyryte, whiche spyryte is before God a thynge muche set by.

⁵ Lykewyse ye yonger submit youre selues vnto the elder. Submit youre selues euerye man, one to another, knyt youre selues together in lowlines of mynde. For God resisteth the proude & geueth grace to humble.

¹⁶ And he had in hys ryghthande .vij. starres. And out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sweard. And hys face shone euen as the sonne in hys strength.

²¹ To hym that ouercommeth, wyl I graunt to sit with me in my seate euen as I ouercame and haue sitten wyth my father, in his seate.

⁹ and they songe a new songe saiyng: thou art worthy to take the boke, and to open the seales therof: for thou wast kylled, & hast redemed vs by thy bloud out of al kynredes, and tonges, and people, and nacions

¹⁴ And I sayd vnto hym: Lorde thou wotest. And he said vnto me: these are they which came out of great tribulacion, and made their garmentes large and made them white, in the bloude of the lambe,

¹⁴ These shal fyght wt the lamb, & the lamb shal ouercome them. For he is Lorde of Lordes, & kinge of kinges, & they that are on his syde, are called the chosen and faithful. ¹⁵ And he sayde vnto me, the waters whyche thou saweste, where the whore sitteth are people, and folke, and nacions & tounges. ¹⁶ And the ten hornes, which thou sawest vpon the beast, are they that shal hate the whore, & shal make her desolate and naked, and shal eate her flesh and burne her wyth fyre.

⁶ And I heard the voice of much people, euen as the voice of many waters & as the voice of strong thondringes, saying: Alleluia, for God omnipotent reigneth.

¹¹ And I sawe heauen open, & beholde a whyt horsse: and he that sate vpon hym was faythful and true, & in rightuousnes dyd he iudge & make battayl. ¹² His eyes were as a flame of fyre, and on hys head were manye crounes, and he had a name wrytten, that no man knewe but he hym self. ¹³ And he was clothed with a vesture dipt in bloud, & his name is called the worde of God. ¹⁴ And the warryers whiche were in heauen, folowed hym vpon whyte horsses, clothed with whyte & pure raynes: ¹⁵ & out of hys mouthe went out a sharpe swearde, that with it he should smyte the heathen. And he shal rule them wyth a rod of Iron, & he trode the wine fat of the fiercenes & wrath of almightye God. ¹⁶ And hath on hys vesture & on hys thighe a name wrytten: king of kinges, & Lord of Lordes, ¹⁷ And I sawe an angel stand in the sunne & he cryed wyth a loud voyce, saiyng to al the foules that flye by the myndes of heauen come & gather youre selues together vnto the supper of the great God, ¹⁸ that ye may eate the flesh of kinges, & of hye captaynes, & the fleshe of myghty men, and the flesh of horsses, & of them that sit on them, & the flesh of all free men & bonde men, & of small & great. ¹⁹ And I sawe the beast and the kynges of the earth, & theyr warriers gathered together to make battayl against him that sat on the horse & agaynst hys souldyers. ²⁰ And the beast was taken, & with hym that false prophete that wrought miracles before him with which he deceyued them that receiued the beastes marke, & them that worshipped his Image These both were cast into a ponde of fyre burnyng with brimstone: ²¹ and the remnaunte were slayne with the swerd of him that sate vpon the horse, which swerd proceded out of his mouth & all the foules were fulfilled with their flesh.
