¹⁷ He delyuered me fro my stronge enemies & fro my foes whych were to myghtye for me

¹ And Dauid spake the wordes of this songe vnto the Lord, what tyme the Lorde delyuered hym out of the handes of al his enemies, & out of the handes of Saul.

¹⁸ He delyuered me from my mighty enemy & from them that hated me and were to strong for me.

⁹ He is angrye at me, he hateth me, & gnasheth vpon me with hys teth. Myne enemy skouleth vpon me with his eyes.

¹³ Haue mercy vpon me (O Lord) considre the trouble that I am in amonge myne enemyes, thou that liftest me vp from the gates of death.

⁴⁰ Thou hast made myne enemyes to turne heir backes vpon me, thou haste destroyed them: that hated me. ⁴¹ They cryed, but there was none to helpe them: yea euen vnto the Lorde, but he heard them not.

¹⁹ Consyder how myne enemyes are many, and beare a malicious hate against me.

¹⁰ All my bones shall saye: Lorde who is lyke vnto the? which deliuerest the poore from those that are to strong for him, yea, the poore and the nedy from hys robbers.

¹⁹ But myne enemyes lyue, & are mightye: and they that hate me without a cause, are many in numbre.

⁴ They that hate me without a cause, are mo then the heeres of my head: they that are myne enemyes & wolde destroye me giltlesse are mighty: I am fayne to paye the thinges that I neuer toke. ⁵ God thou knowest my simplenesse, and my faultes are not hyd from the. ⁶ Let not them that trust in the, O Lord God of hoostes, be ashamed for my cause: let not those that seke the, be confounded thorowe me, O God of Israel. ⁷ And why? for thy sake do I suffre reprofe, shame couereth my face. ⁸ I am become a straunger vnto my brethren, and an aleaunt vnto my mothers chyldren. ⁹ For the zele of thyne house hath euen eaten me, and the rebukes of them that rebuked the, is fallen vpon me. ¹⁰ I wepte and chastened my selfe with fastyng, and that was turned to my reprofe. ¹¹ I put on a sacke cloth, and therefore they iested vpon me. ¹² They that sate in the gate, spake agaynste me, & the dronkardes made songes vpon me. ¹³ But Lorde I made my prayer vnto the in an acceptable tyme. Heare me, O God, with thy great mercy and sure helpe. ¹⁴ Take me out of the myre, that I sinke not Oh let me be deliuered from them that hate me, and out of the depe waters.

⁷ The lord is my helper, and I shall se my desyre vpon myne enemyes.

⁶ Considre my complaynt, for I am brought very lowe. O deliuer me fro my persecuters, for thei are to stronge for me.

¹⁴ But hys citisens hated hym, and sente messengers after hym, saiynge: we will not haue thys man to reygne ouer vs.

¹⁰ Finally my brethren, be stronge in the Lord and in the power of his myghte. ¹¹ Put on the armoure of God, that ye maye stande stedfaste agaynste the crafty assautes of the deuyll. ¹² For we wrestle not againste fleshe and bloude: but against rule, agaynst power, and againste worldlye rulers of the darckenes of thys worlde, againste spyrytuall wickednes, for heauenly thynges.

¹⁴ For as muche then as the children were partetakers of fleshe and bloude, he also him selfe lyke wyse toke part wyth them, for to put doune thorowe death, that is to saye the deuyll, ¹⁵ and that he mighte delyuer them, which thorowe feare of death weare all theyr lyfe tyme in daunger of boundage.
