¹ To the chaunter, a Psalme of Dauid. Lorde, how ioyfull is the kyng in thy strength? O how exceadyng glad is he of thy sauynge health? ² Thou haste geuen him hys hertes desyre, and hast not put him from the request of hys lippes. Selah. ³ For thou hast preuented him with liberal blessinges, and set a croune of golde vpon hys head. ⁴ He asked lyfe of the, and thou gauest him a longe lyfe, euen for euer and euer. ⁵ His honour is great in thy sauing health, glory and great worship shalt thou laye vpon hym. ⁶ For thou shalt geue hym euerlastinge felicitie, and make hym glad with the ioye of thy countenaunce. ⁷ And why? because the kynge putteth hys trust in the Lord, and in the mercy of the most hyest he shall not miscary. ⁸ Let all thyne enemyes fele thy hande: let thy right hande fynde out all theym that hate the. ⁹ Thou shalt make them like a fyry ouen in tyme of thy wrath: the Lorde shall destroye them in hys displeasure, and the fyre shal consume them. ¹⁰ Their frute shalte thou rote oute of the earth, and their sede from amonge the chyldren of men. ¹¹ For they intended mischief agaynst the, & ymagined suche deuyces, as they were not able to perfourme. ¹² Therfore shalte thou put them to flighte, & with thy strynges thou shalte make ready thyne arrowes agaynst the faces of them. ¹³ Be thou exalted, Lorde in thyne owne strength, so wyll we synge and prayse thy power.

⁶ Yet haue I sette my kyng vpon my holy hyll of syon.

⁵ We wyll reioyse in thy health, & triumphe in the name of the Lorde our God: the Lord perfourme all thy peticion. ⁶ Now knowe I, that the Lord helpeth hys anoynted, and will heare hym from his holy heauen: myghtye is the helpe of hys ryghte hande.

⁹ Saue, Lorde, and helpe vs, O kyng, when we call vpon the.

⁷ The Lord is my strength and my shylde: my hert hoped in hym, and I am helped: therfore my hert daunseth for ioy, and I wil sing praises vnto hym.

¹⁶ As for me, I will synge of thy power, and prayse thy mercy by tymes in the mornyng: for thou art my defence & refuge in the tyme of my trouble. ¹⁷ Vnto the (O my strengthe) wyll I singe, for thou (O God) art my defence, & my mercifull God.

⁷ In God is my helth, my glory, my might, and in God is my trust.

¹¹ But the Kynge shall reioyse in God: all they that sweare by him, shalbe commended for the mouth of lyers shalbe stopped.

¹⁷ Thou, O God, haste learned me fro my youth vp vntyll now, therfore wyll I tell of thy wonderous workes.

¹ O come let vs prayse the Lord, let vs hertely reioyse in the strength of our saluacion.

⁴ The kinges power loueth iudgment, thou preparest equite, thou executest iudgment and ryghtuousnes in, Iacob.

¹⁴ The lorde is my strength, and my songe and is become my saluation. ¹⁵ The voice of ioy and meyth is in the dwellynges of the rightuous, for the ryght hand of the Lord hath gotten the victory.

⁶ For vnto vs a chylde shalbe borne, and vnto vs a sonne shalbe geuen. Vpon his shoulder shall the kyngedome lye, and he shalbe called with hys owne name. The wonderous geuer of councel, the myghty God, the euerlastinge father, the prynce of peace, ⁷ he shall make no ende to encrease the kyngedome and peace, and shall sytte vpon the seate of Dauid, and in his kyngedome, to set vp the same, to stablyshe it wyth equyte and ryghteousnesse, from thence forth for euermore. This shall the gelousy of the Lorde of hostes brynge to paste.

² sayinge. Where is he that is borne kinge of Iewes? We haue sene his star in the east, and are come to worshyppe hym.

² lokynge vnto Iesus the author and fynysher of our fayth, whiche for the ioye that was set before hym, abode the crosse, and despised the same, and is set doune on the ryght hande of the throne of God.

⁸ Desyre of me, and I shall geue the Heathen for thyne enherytaunce. Yea the vttermost partes of the worlde for thy possessyon. ⁹ Thou shalt rule them wyth a rodde of yron, and breake them in peces lyke an earthen vessell.

⁴ Graunte the thy hertes desyre, and fulfill all thy mynde. ⁵ We wyll reioyse in thy health, & triumphe in the name of the Lorde our God: the Lord perfourme all thy peticion.

⁴ Delyte thou in the Lorde, & he shall geue the thy hertes desire.

¹¹ Myne eye also shall se hys luste of myne enemyes, and myne eare shall heare his desire of the wicked that ryse vp agaynst me.

⁶ Let it be but a smal thynge, that thou arte my seruaunte, to set vp the kynredes of Iacob, & to restore the destruccyon of Israel: yf I make the not also the light of the Gentiles. that thou mayest be my helthe vnto the ende of the worlde. ⁷ Moreouer thus sayth the Lorde the auenger and holye one of Israel, because of the abhorrynge and despysynge amonge the Gentyles, concernynge the seruaunte of all them that beare rule: Kynges and prynces shall se, and aryse and worshyppe, because of the Lord that he is faythfull: and because of the holye one of Israell, which hath chosen the. ⁸ And thus sayth the Lorde: In the tyme apointed wyll I be present with the. And in the houre of healthe wyll I helpe the, and delyuer the. I wyll make the a pledge for the people, so that thou shalte helpe vp the earthe agayne, and chalenge agayne the scatred herytages: ⁹ That thou mayest saye to the presonners: go forth, & to them that are in darknesse: come into the lyght, that they may fede in the hye wayes, and get theyr lyuynge in all places. ¹⁰ There shall neyther hunger nor thurste, heate nor sunne hurte them. For he that fauoureth them, shall leade them, and geue them drincke of the sprynge welles. ¹¹ I wyll make wayes vpon all my mountaynes, & my fote pathes shalbe exalted. ¹² And beholde, they shall come from farre: lo, some from the north and weste, some from the south.

²⁵ Wherfor he is able also euer to saue them that come vnto God by hym, seyng he euer lyueth, to make intercessyon for vs.

¹³ And Samuel toke the horne with the oyntment and annoynted him in the presens of hys brethren. And the spryte of the Lord came vpon Dauid, from that daye forwarde. And Samuel rose vp and went to Ramath.

⁴ And the men of Iuda came and there anoynted Dauid kynge ouer the house of Iuda. When it was tolde Dauid, howe the men of Iabes in Galaad had buryed Saule,

³ And so all the elders of Israell came to the kynge to Hebron. And Kynge Dauid made a couenaunt wyth them in Hebron before the Lord. And they anoynted Dauid Kynge ouer Israell.

³⁰ And he toke the kinges croune from of hys heade whiche wayed an hundred wayght of golde, and was set wyth precious stones. And Dauid ware it on hys head. And he brought out the spoyle of the cytye in excedyng great aboundaunce.

² And Dauid toke the croune of their kynge of his heade, and founde therin the wayght of a talent of goulde, & there were preciouse stones in it, and it was set on Dauids head. And he brought out also the spoile of the cytye, whiche was exceading much:

⁴¹ And now vp Lorde God in thy restynge place: both thou and the arcke of thy strengthe, and let thy priestes put on vyctorye and thy saynctes reioyse in goodnesse.

¹¹ Or, who hath geuen me anye thynge afore hande, that I am bound to reward hym againe? All thynges vnder heauen are myne.

¹⁸ They preuented me in the time of my trouble, but the Lorde was my defence.

¹⁹ O howe greate and manyfolde is thy good, whyche thou haste hyd for them that feare the? O what thinges bringest thou to passe for them, that put their truste in the, euen before the sonnes of men?

¹⁰ God sheweth me his goodnes plenteously, God letteth me se my desyre vppon myne enemyes.

⁴ Eyther despysest thou the riches of hys goodnes, pacience and longe sufferaunce? and remembreste not howe that the kindnes of God leadeth the to repentaunce?

³⁵ Other who hath geuen vnto hym fyrst that he myghte be recompensed agayne?

³ Blessed be God the father of oure Lorde Iesus Christe, which hath blessed vs wyth all maner of spyrytuall blessynges in heauenlye thynges by Christe,

⁹ Neuertheles we yet se not all thinges subdued, but him that was made lesse then the Angelles, we se that it was Iesus, whiche is crowned with glory and honoure for the suffering of death, that he by the grace of God, should taste of death for al men.

¹² His eyes were as a flame of fyre, and on hys head were manye crounes, and he had a name wrytten, that no man knewe but he hym self.

³ Considre, & heare me, O Lorde my God: lighten myne eyes, that I sleape not in death.

¹⁰ For why? thou shalt not leaue my soule in hell, neither shalt thou suffre thy saincte to se corrupcion. ¹¹ Thou hast shewed me the wayes of lyfe: thou shalte make me full of ioye wyth thy countenaunce. At thy ryght hande there is pleasure and ioye for euermore.

⁵ For thou, O Lord, hast harde my desyres, thou hast geuen an heretage vnto those that feare thy name. ⁶ Thou shalte graunte the Kynge a longe lyfe, that his yeares may endure thorow out all generacyons.

¹⁷ Hys name shal endure for euer, his name shall remayne vnder the sunne amonge the posterites, which shalbe blessed thorow him and all the Heathen shall prayse hym.

²⁹ Hys sede wyll I make to endure for euer, yea, and his trone as the dayes of heauen.

³⁶ Hys sede shall endure for euer, and hys seate also lyke as the sunne before me. ³⁷ He shall stande faste for euermore as the moone, and as the faythfull wytnesse in heauen. Selah.

¹⁶ With longe lyfe will I satisfye him, and shewe hym my saluacion.

⁷⁷ O let thy louyng mercies come vnto me, that I may lyue, for thy law is my delite.

¹⁷⁵ Oh let my soule lyue and prayse the, that thy iudgementes maye helpe me.

³ Like the dewe of Hermon, which fell vpon the hil of Sion. For there the Lorde promysed hys blesyng, and lyfe for euermoe.

¹⁸ and am alyue, and was dead. And beholde I am alyue for euer more and haue the kayes of hell, & of death.

⁸ Now therfore so saye vnto my seruaunt Dauid, thus sayth the Lord of Hostes I toke the out of a shepeherdes cote from folowyng shepe to be a ruler ouer my people Israel. ⁹ And I was wyth the in all that thou wentest to, & haue destroyed all thyne enemyes out of thy syght, and haue made the a great name, lyke vnto the name of the great men of the world.

¹⁹ And is thys a small thyng in thy syght Lorde Iehouah, but that thou shuldest speake also of the seruauntes house for a greate while to come? is this a lawe amonge men Lorde Iehouah?

¹¹ But when thy dayes be exspyred, that thou must go after thy fathers, I wyll set vp thy seade after the, whiche shalbe of thy sonnes & wyl setle hys kyngedom. ¹² He shall buyld my an house, and I wyll stablyshe hys seate for euer. ¹³ I wylbe hys father and he shalbe me sonne, and I wyll not put my mercy awaye from him, as I did from him that was before the. ¹⁴ But I wyl set him in myne house, and in my kyngdome for euer, and hys seate shalbe sure for euer. ¹⁵ When Nathan hath tolde Dauid according to all these wordes, & to al this vision,

²⁷ Now therfore go to and blesse the house of thy seruaunte, that it may continue before the for euer. For what thou blessest O Lorde that is blessed for euer.

³ But thou, O Lord, arte my defender, my worshippe, and the lifter vp of my head.

⁵ After thou haddest for a season made him lower then the aungels, thou crounedest him with honour and glory.

⁶ Thankesgeuynge and worshippe are before hym, power & honoure are in hys Sanctuary.

¹ A Psalme of Dauyd. The Lorde sayde vnto my Lord: Syt thou on my ryght hande, vntyll I make thyne enemies thy fotestole.

⁵ And now sayth the Lord euen he that fashioned me from my mothers wombe to be his seruaunte, that I may bring Iacob agayne vnto him: howbe it, Israel wil not be gathered vnto hym agayne. ¹ What is he thys, that cometh from Edom, with stayned read clothes of Bolra: (whyche is so costly cloth) and cometh in so nimbly wyth all his strength: I am he that teachech ryghteousnes, and am of power to helpe.

¹⁸ And Iesus came and spake vnto them saiynge: all power is geuen vnto me in heauen and in earth.

³¹ When he was gone oute, Iesus sayde: nowe is the sonne of man glorifyed. And God is glorified by hym. ³² Yf God be glorifyed by hym, God shall also glorifye hym in hym selfe, and shall strayghte waye glorifye hym.

¹ These wordes spake Iesus, & lyfte vp hys eyes to heauen, and said: father the houre is come: glorify thy sonne, that thy sonne maye glorifye the:

⁵ And nowe glorifye me thou father with thyne owne selfe with the glorye which I had with the, yer the worlde was

²² And that glorye that thou gauest me, haue I geuen them, that they may be one, as we are one,

²⁰ whiche he wrought in Christe, when he raysed hym from the dead, and set hym on hys ryght hande in heauenly thynges, ²¹ aboue all rule, power, and myghte, and domynyon, and aboue all names that are named, not in thys worlde onely, but also in the worlde to come, ²² and hath put all thynges, vnder hys fete, and hath made hym aboue all thynges the heade of the congregacyon,

⁹ Wherfore God hath exalted hym, and geuen hym a name aboue al names, ¹⁰ that in the name of Iesus should euerye knee bowe, both of thinges in heauen and thinges in earth, and thinges vnder the earth, ¹¹ and that al tounges should confesse that Iesus Christ is the Lorde vnto the prayse of God the father.

¹ Of the thynges which we haue spoken this is the pythe: that we haue suche an hye prieste that is sytten on the ryght hande of the seate of maiestye in heauen,

²² whyche is on the right hande of God, and is gone into heauen, aungelles, power, and mighte, subdued vnto him.

⁸ And when he had taken the boke, the .iiij. beastes, and .xxiiij. elders fel doune before the lambe, hauinge harpes and golden vialles full of odoures, whyche are the prayers of saynctes, ⁹ and they songe a new songe saiyng: thou art worthy to take the boke, and to open the seales therof: for thou wast kylled, & hast redemed vs by thy bloud out of al kynredes, and tonges, and people, and nacions ¹⁰ and hast made vs to our God, kynges, and priestes, & we shal reigne on the earth. ¹¹ And I behelde, and I heard the voyce of many angels about the throne, and about the beastes, and the elders, and I heard thousande thousandes, ¹² sayinge wyth a loud voyce: Worthy is the lamb that was kylled to receiue power, and riches, and wysdome, and strength, and honoure, & glorye and blessing. ¹³ And al creatures whiche are in heauen, and on the earth, and vnder the earth, and in the sea, and al that are in them hearde I saiynge: blessing, honour, glory, and power be vnto him that sytteth vpon the seate, and to the Lambe for euermore.

² And I wyll make of the a myghty people, and wyll blesse the, and make thy name greate, that thou maiste be a blessynge.

⁶ There be many that saye: who wyll do vs any good? Lord lift vp vpon vs the lyghte of thy countenaunce. ⁷ Thou reioyseste myne herte, thoughe their encrease be great both in corne & wyne.

¹¹ Thou hast shewed me the wayes of lyfe: thou shalte make me full of ioye wyth thy countenaunce. At thy ryght hande there is pleasure and ioye for euermore.

⁴ That I maye go into the aulter of God, euen vnto the God whyche is my ioye & pleasure, and vpon the harpe to geue thankes vnto the, O God, my God.

⁷ Thou hast loued righteousnesse, & hated iniquitie: wherfore God (which is thy God) hath anoynted the with the oyle of gladnes aboue thy felowes.

² Thus do I loke for the in thy Sanctuary, that I myght beholde thy power and glorye, ³ For thy louynge kyndnesse is bettrr then lyfe, my lyppes shall prayse the. ⁴ As longe as I lyue wyll I magnyfye the and lyft vp my handes in thy name. ⁵ My soule is satisfied euen as it were with mary and fatnesse, when my mouth prayseth the with ioyful lyps.

¹⁷ Hys name shal endure for euer, his name shall remayne vnder the sunne amonge the posterites, which shalbe blessed thorow him and all the Heathen shall prayse hym. ¹⁸ Blessed be the Lorde God, euen the God of Israell, whiche onely doeth wonderous thinges. ¹⁹ And blessed be the name of his maiesty for euer, and al landes be fulfilled with his glory. Amen, Amen.

¹⁰ But the aungel sayde vnto them: Be not afrayed. For beholde, I bringe you tydinges of greate ioye that shall come to al the people: ¹¹ for vnto you is borne this day in the citye of Dauid, a sauioure whiche is Christe the Lorde.

³⁰ For mine eyes haue sene the sauiour sent from the. ³¹ Which thou hast prepare before the face of all people. ³² A lyght to lighten the gentils and the glorye of thy people Israel.

²⁸ Thou hast shewed me the wayes of lyfe, and shalte make me full of ioye, wt thy countenaunce.

²⁶ Fyrste vnto you hath God raysed vp his sonne Iesus, and hym he hath sent to blesse you, that euery one of you shuld turne from your wickednes.

⁹ So then they whiche be of faythe are blessed with faythful Abraham.

¹⁴ that the blessyng of Abraham myghte come on the Gentyles thorowe Iesus Christ and that we myght receyue the promes of the spyryte thorow fayth.

⁸ When the most hyghest gaue the nations an enheritaunce, & deuided the sonnes of Adam, he put the borders of the nations, fast by the multitude of the children of Israell. ⁹ For the Lordes part is hys folke, & Iacob is the portion of hys enheritaunce.

⁶ And Dauid was in a shrowde strayte: for the people entended to stone hym because the hertes of all the people were vexed for their sonnes and their doughters. But Dauid toke a good courage to him in the lord hys God

² I will be glad, and reioyse in the, yea, my songes wil I make of thy name O thou moost hyest.

⁵ But my trust is in thy mercy, & my herte is ioyfull in thy sauynge health.

⁸ Afore hand sawe I God alwayes before me, for he is on my righte hande, that I should not be moued.

² The Lorde is my succour, my refuge, my sauyoure: my God, my helper in whome I trust: my buckler, the horne of my health, and my proteccion.

⁷ Some put their trust in charettes, & some in horses: but we will remembre the name of the Lorde oure God. ⁸ They are broughte doune and fallen, but we are rysen and stande vp right.

¹ Of Dauid. Be thou my iudge, O Lord, for I walke innocently: my trust is in the Lorde therfore shal I not fal.

⁴ I wyll dwell in thy tabernacle for euer, that I maye be safe vnder the couerynge of thy wynges. Selah.

⁶ Thou shalte graunte the Kynge a longe lyfe, that his yeares may endure thorow out all generacyons. ⁷ That he maye dwel before God for euer: Oh let thy louynge mercy and faythfulnes preserue hym.

² He shal say vnto the Lorde: O my hope, and my strong holde, my God, in whome I will trust.

⁹ For thou Lorde art my hope, thou hast set thyne house of defence very hye. ¹⁰ There shall no euell happen vnto the, neither shall any plage come nye thy dwelling.

¹⁴ Then gaue he hym power and dignitie regal, that al people trybes and tunges shoulde serue him. Hys power is an euerlastynge power, whych shal neuer be put doune, and his kingdome endureth vncorrupte.

⁴³ He trusted in God, let hym deliuer hym now, if he wyl haue him: for he sayde I am the sonne of God.

¹³ And again: I wil put my truste in him. And agayne: beholde here am I and the chyldren, which God hath geuen me.

²⁹ And yf any man rise to persecute the and to seke thy soule the soule of my Lorde be bounde in a bondel of lyfe with the Lorde thy God. And thy soules of thy enemies be slong in the midle of a slinge.

³ And the battel went sore agaynst Saul, in so much that shoters wt bowes had founde hym, & he was sore wounded of the shoters.

¹ And in processe as the king dwelt in hys house after that the Lorde had geuen hym rest round about from all hys enemyes,

⁹ Thou shalt rule them wyth a rodde of yron, and breake them in peces lyke an earthen vessell.

¹ To the chaunter of Dauid, seruaunt of the Lorde, whiche sayde vnto the Lorde the woordes of thys songe, on the daye in which the Lorde delyuered hym from the hande of all hys enemyes, and from the hande of Saul, and sayde. I wyll loue the (O Lorde) my strength.

⁹ They that dwell in the wyldernes shall knele before him, & his enemyes shal licke the dust.

²² The enemye shall not ouercome hym, & the sonne of wyckednesse shall not hurte hym. ²³ I shall smyte doune hys foes before hys face, and plage them that hate hym.

¹ A Psalme of Dauyd. The Lorde sayde vnto my Lord: Syt thou on my ryght hande, vntyll I make thyne enemies thy fotestole. ² The Lord shal sende the rod of thy power out of Sion; be thou ruler euen in the myddest amonge thyne enemyes.

¹⁰ As wo say: I were able to winne the kingedome of the Idolatres and their Goddes, but not Ierusalem and Samaria.

² Though they were buryed in the hell, my hande shall fetch them from thence: though they clymme vp to heauen, yet shall I cast them downe: ³ though they hyde them selues vpon the toppe of Carmell, yet shall I seke them out, and brynge them from thence: Though they crepe downe from my syght into the depe of the sea, I shall commaunde the serpente, euen there to byte them.

¹⁴ But hys citisens hated hym, and sente messengers after hym, saiynge: we will not haue thys man to reygne ouer vs.

²⁷ Moreouer those myne enemyes which woulde not that I should raigne ouer them, brynge hyther, and slea them before me.

²⁵ For he muste reigne tyll he haue put all hys enemies vnder his fete.

²⁸ He that despyseth Moyses lawe, dyeth wythout mercye vnder two or thre wytnesses ²⁹ Of howe muche sorer punyshement suppose ye shal he be counted worthy, whych treadeth vnder fote the sonne of God: and counted the bloud of the testament as an vnholy thynge wherwyth he was sanctyfyed, and doth dishonour to the spyryte of grace.

¹⁵ & out of hys mouthe went out a sharpe swearde, that with it he should smyte the heathen. And he shal rule them wyth a rod of Iron, & he trode the wine fat of the fiercenes & wrath of almightye God.

²⁸ and loked toward Sodome and Gomorra and towarde all the lande of that contre. And as he loked: behold the smoke of the countre arose as it had bene the smoke of a fornace.

²² For fyre is kindeled in my wrath, and shal burne vnto the bottome of hell. And shall consume the earth wyth hyr encrease, & set a fyre the bottomes of the mountaines.

³ for then should it be heuyer, then the sande of the sea. This is the cause, that my words are so soroufull.

⁵ Then shal he speake vnto them in hys wrath, and vexe them in hys sore displeasure.

¹² Kysse the sonne, lest the Lorde be angrye and so ye peryshe from the ryght way. For his wrath shalbe kindled shortly: blessed are all they that put their trust in hym.

⁸ There wente a smoke oute of hys nostrels and a consuming fyre out of his mouth so that coales were kyndled at it.

³ Oure God shal come, and not kepe silence there goeth before him a consuming fyre, and a mighty tempest round about him.

¹ To the chaunter, vpon the domme stock doue: whiche flyeth ferre of, Michtam of Dauid, when the Phylystynes toke hym in Geth. Be mercifull vnto me (O God) for men will treade me doune: they are dayly fightynge and troublynge me. ² Myne enemyes treade me dayly vnder their fete, for they be many that proudly fighte agaynste me.

¹⁷ So the earth opened & swalowed vp Dathan, & couered the congregatyon of Abyram.

¹¹ Lorde, they wyll not se thyne hye hande, but they shall se it, and be confounded: when thou shalte deuoure them with the wrathe of the people, & wyth the fyre of thyue enemyes.

² Beth. The Lorde hath cast downe all the glorye of Iacob without any fauoure: all the stronge places of the daughter Iuda hath he broken in his wrath, and thorowen them downe to the grounde: her kyngdome & her Princes hath he suspended.

²⁰ and spake vnto the strongeste worthyes that were in hys hoste, for to bynde Sidrach, Misach and Abednago, & to cast them into the hote burnynge ouen. ²¹ So these men were bounde in theyr cotes hosen, shues with theyr other garmentes, and caste into the hote burnynge ouen: ²² for the kynges commaundemente was so strate, and the ouen was exceadynge hote. As for the men that put in Sydrach, Mysach & Abednago, the flamme of the fyre destroyed them.

⁶ Who maye endure before his wrath? Or who is able to abyde hys gryme displeasure? His anger taketh on lyke fyre, and the harde rockes burst in sunder before hym.

¹ For marck, the day commeth, that shall burne as an ouen: and al the proude, yea and al such as do wickednesse, shalbe straw: and the daye that is for to come, shall burne them vp (sayeth the Lorde of hostes) so that it shall leaue them neyther rote nor braunche.

¹⁰ Euen now is the axe put vnto the rote of the trees: so that euerye tre which bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewen doun & cast into the fire.

¹² which hath also his fan in hys hande, and will purge his floure gather the wheat into his garner, & wyl burne the chaffe with vnquenciable fyre.

⁴² and shall caste theim into a fournayce of fyre. There shalbe waylyng & gnasshyng of teth.

⁷ When the kynge hearde that, he was wrothe and sente forthe hys warryers and destroyed those murtherers and brent vp theyr citie.

⁴¹ Then shall the kinge saye vnto them that shalbe on the lyfte hande. Departe from me ye cursed, into euerlastinge fyre, which is prepared for the deuyll and hys angels.

⁴⁶ And these shall go into euerlasting payne. And the righteouse into lyfe eternall.

⁸ in flammynge fyre, rendrynge vengeaunce vnto them that knowe not God, and to them that obeye not vnto the Gospel of our Lorde Iesus Christ,

¹⁶ fal on vs, and hyde vs from the presence of hym that sitteth on the seate, and from the wrath of the lambe, ¹⁷ for the great day of his wrath is come: And who can endure it?

³⁴ And thys doynge was synne vnto the house of Ieroboam, euen to destroye it, & to put it away from of the face of the earth.

¹⁶ Hys rotes shalbe dryed vp beneth, and aboue shall his haruest be cutt downe. ¹⁷ Hys remembraunce shall perish from the earth, & hys name shall not be praysed in the stretes: ¹⁸ he shalbe dryuen from the lyght into darcknesse, and be cast cleane out of the world. ¹⁹ He shall nether haue chyldren nor kynsfolckes amonge his people, no, ner eny posterite in his countre:

²⁸ The substaunce that he hath in hys house, shalbe taken away and peryshe, in the daye of the Lordes wrath.

²⁸ For the Lorde loueth the thynge that is ryght, he forsaketh not hys sainctes, but thei shalbe preserued for euermore: as for the sede of the vngodly, it shalbe roted out.

¹³ Let hys ende be destruccyon, & in the next generacion let his name be cleane put oute.

²⁰ and art not buryed with them? Euen because that thou hast wasted thy lande, and destroyed thy people. For the generacion of the wycked shalbe wythoute honoure foreuer.

¹ VVhy do the Heathen grudge? why do the people ymagyne vayne thinges?

² While the vngodlye hath the ouer hand, the pore must suffer persecutyon. O that they were taken in the ymagynacion which they go aboute.

¹³ For I haue harde the blasphemy of the multytude: euerye man abhorreth me: they haue gathered a councell together agaynste me, and are purposed to take awaye my lyfe.

²⁰ And why? their comening is not for peace but they ymagyn false wordes agaynste the outcastes of the lande.

⁴ Come (saye they) let vs rote them out from amonge the people, that the name of Israell maye be put out of remembraunce.

⁶ sayinge: We wyll go doune into Iuda, vexe them, and bryng them vnder vs, and set a kynge there, euen the sonne of Tabeel. ⁷ For thus sayth the Lorde GOD therto, It shall not so go forthe, nether come so to passe:

⁹ Go together ye people, and gather you, herken to all ye of farre countreyes. Mustre you, & gather you: mustre you and gather you, ¹⁰ take your councel together, yet must youre councell come to nought: go in hand with all, yet shall it not prospere. Excepte Emanuel: (that is God) be with vs.

¹⁸ This (O Lord) haue I learned of the, and vnderstand it, for thou hast shewed me theyr ymaginacions. ¹⁹ But I (as a meke lambe) was caried awaye to be slayne: not knowing, that they had deuised soche a councell agaynst me sayenge: We wyll destroye hys meate wyth woed, & dryue hym out of the lande of the lyuing: that his name shall neuer be thought vpon.

² Then sayde the Lorde vnto me: Thou sonne of man: these men ymagyn myschefe, and a wycked councel take they in this citie,

⁸ and sent them to Bethleem sayinge: Go and searche diligentlye for the childe. And when ye haue founde hym, bringe me worde, that I may come and worshyppe him also.

¹⁶ Then Herode perceauing that he was mocked of the wyse men, was excedinge wroth, & sent forth and slue al the children that were in Bethleem, and in all the costes therof, as many as were two yere olde and vnder according to the time which he had diligently searched out of the wise men.

⁴⁶ And they wente aboute to laye handes on hym, but they feared the people, because they toke hym as a Prophete.

After thre daies I will aryse agayne. ⁶⁴ Commaunde therfore that the sepulchre be made sure vntyll the thirde daye lest peraduenture his disciples come, and steale him away, and saye vnto the people, he is rysen from death, & the last errourre be worste then the fyrste.

² And beholde there was a great earthquake. For the aungell of the Lorde descended from heauen: & came & rowled backe the stone from the dore, and sat vpon it. ³ His countenaunce was lyke lyghtnyng, & his raymente whyte as snowe. ⁴ And for feare of him the kepers were astonnied and became as dead men. ⁵ The aungel aunswered & sayd to the women: feare ye not. I knowe that ye seke Iesus, whiche was crucifyed: ⁶ he is not here: he is rysen as he sayd. Come & se the place where the Lord was put,

¹⁷ But that it be noised no further among the people, let vs threaten and charge them that they speake henceforth to no man in this name. ¹⁸ And they called them and commaunded them that in no wyse they should speake or teache in the name of Iesu.

²⁷ And when they had brought them, they set them before the counsell. And the chiefe prieste axed them ²⁸ saiynge: dyd not we straytely commaunde you, that ye shoulde not teach in this name. And behold ye haue fylled Hierusalem with your doctrine, and ye intended to brynge this mannes bloude vpon vs.

²⁰ I haue offended, what shall I do vnto the, O thou preseruer of men? Why hast thou made me to stande in thy way, and am so heuy a burden vnto my selfe?

¹² I was somtyme in wealth, but sodenlye hath broughte me to noughte. He hath taken me by the neck, he hath rente me, and set me, as it were a marck for hym to shute at. ¹³ He hath compased me roundeaboute with his dartes, he hath wounded my loynes, and not spared. My bowels hath he poured vpon the grounde.

¹² If men wyll not turne, he hath whette his swearde: he hath bent his bowe and made it ready. ¹³ He hath prepared hym the weapens of death, & ordeined his arrowes to be destroied.

³ Because thou hast dryuen myne enemyes abacke, they were disconfited, and perished at thy presence.

¹⁴ He sente oute hys arrowes and scattered them, he cast sore lyghtenynges, and destroied them.

¹⁰ Thou makest vs to turne oure backes vpon oure enemyes, so that they which hate vs spoyle our goodes.

⁹ When soeuer I call vpon the, myne enemyes are put to flight: whereby I knowe that thou art my God.

⁷ But God shal sodenly shote wyth an arow that they shalbe wounded.

¹² He hath bent his bowe, and made me as it were a marck to shutte at.

¹¹ Thyne (O Lorde) is greatenesse, power glorye, vyctorye and prayse: for all that is in heauen and in earthe is thyne, and thyne is the kyngedome (O Lorde) and thou arte lyfte vp an head aboue all.

¹⁹ If men wyll speake of strength, he is the strongest of all: yf men wyll speake of ryghtuousnes, who darre be my recorde.

⁴⁶ The Lorde lyueth: and blessed be, my helper, praysed be the God of my health.

¹⁰ Be styll then and confesse that I am God I will be exalted amonge the Heythen, and I will be exalted vpon earth.

⁵ Set vp thy selfe, O God, aboue the heauens, and thy glory aboue al the earthe.

¹⁰ The ryghteous shal reioyse when he seith the vengeaunce, and shall washe hys fete in the bloud of the vngodly. ¹¹ So that men shall saye, verelye there is a rewarde for the righteous: doutles, there is a God that iudgeth the earth.

⁵ Who is lyke vnto the Lorde oure God, that hath his dwellynge so hye,

¹⁰ Let thy kingdome come. Thy wyll be fulfylled, as well in earth, as it is in heauen.

¹³ And lead vs not into temptaciou. But delyuer vs from euyll. For thyne is the kingdome and the power, and the glorye for euer Amen.

¹⁷ sayinge: we geue the thankes Lord GOD almyghty, whyche arte and wast, and arte to come, for thou hast receyued thy greate myght and hast reigned.

³ and they songe the songe of Moises the seruaunt of God, & they songe of the lamb, sayinge: Great & maruelous are thy workes Lorde God almighty, iuste & true are thy wayes kynge of sainctes. ⁴ Who shal not feare. O Lorde, & glorify thy name? For thou only arte holy and al Gentyls shal come and worshippe before the for thy iudgementes are made manifeste.

⁵ And I heard an angel say: Lord which art & wast, thou art rightuous & holy, because thou hast geuen such iudgementes, ⁶ for they shed out the bloud of sainctes, & prophetes, & therfore hast thou geuen them bloud to drinke, for they are worthy. ⁷ And I heard another out of the aulter saye, euen so Lord God almyghty, true, and ryghtuous are thy iudgementes.

²⁰ Reioice ouer her thou heauen, and ye holy Apostles, & prophetes: for God hath geuen your iudgemente on her.

¹ And after that, I heard the voice of much people in heauen saying Alleluia. Saluacion and glory and honoure, & power be ascribed to the Lorde oure God, ² for true and ryghteous are his iudgementes, for he hath iudged that great whore, whiche dyd corrupte the earth with her fornicacion, & hath auenged the bloude of his seruauntes of her hand. ³ And again they said: Alleluia. And smoke rose vp for euermore. ⁴ And the .xxiij. elders, & the .iiij. beastes fel doune, & worshipped God that sate on the seat sayinge: Amen Alleluia. ⁵ And a voice came out of the seate, saying: prayse our Lord God all ye that are his seruauntes, and ye that feare him both smalle and great. ⁶ And I heard the voice of much people, euen as the voice of many waters & as the voice of strong thondringes, saying: Alleluia, for God omnipotent reigneth.
