² For he hath founded it vpon the seas, and buylded it vpon the floudes.

⁹ And God sayde: let the waters that are vnder heauen gather them selues vnto one place, that the drye lande may appere. And it came so to passe. ¹⁰ And GOD called the drye lande the erth, and the gatheryng together of waters called he the sea. And God sawe that it was good.

²² Neyther shal sowynge time and heruest, cold and hete, somer, and wynter, daye and nyghte ceasse, as longe as the earth endureth.

⁴ Where wast thou, when I layde the foundacyons of the earth? Tel planely yf thou hast vnderstandyng.

⁸ Who shut the sea with dores, when it brake forth as a chyld oute of his mothers wombe? ⁹ When I made the cloudes to be a coueryng for it, & swadled it wyth the darcke? ¹⁰ when I gaue it my commaundement, makynge dores & barres for it, ¹¹ saying: Hytherto shalt thou come, but no forther, & here shalte thou laye doune thy proude & hye waues.

⁶ By the worde of the Lorde were the heauens made, and all the hoostes of theym by the breth of hys mouth.

¹ The Lorde is kyng, and hath put on glorious apparell, the Lorde hath put on his apparell, & gyrded him selfe with strengthe: he hath made the rounde world so sure, that it can not be moued.

⁴ In his hand are al the corners of the earth, and the strength of the hylles is his also.

¹⁰ Tell it out amonge the Heathen, that the Lorde is kynge: and that it is he, which hath made the rounde worlde so faste, that it can not be moued, and howe that he shall iudge the people righteously.

⁵ Thou hast layed the earth vpon her foundacion, that it neuer moueth at any tyme. ⁶ Thou couerest it with the depe lyke as wt a garmente, so that the waters stande aboue the hylles.

⁶ Which layed out the earth aboue the waters, for his mercy endureth for euer.

²² Feare ye not me, sayeth the Lorde? Are ye not ashamed, to loke me in the face? which bynde the sea wyth the sande, so that it can not passe hys boundes: For thoughe it rage, yet can it do nothynge, and thoughe the waues thereof do swell, yet maye they not go ouer.

¹¹ As for theyr Goddes, it maye well be sayde of them: they are Goddes, that made neyther heauen nor earthe: therfore shall they peryshe from the earthe, & from al thynges vnder heauen ¹² But (as for oure God) he made the earth with his power, and with hys wysdom hath he fynished the whole compasse of the worlde, wyth hys discrecion hath he spred oute the heauens. ¹³ At his voyce the waters gather together in the ayre, he draweth vp the cloudes from the vttermoste partes of the earth: he turneth lyghtenyng to rayne, & bryngeth forth the windes oute of theyr treasures: ¹⁴ Hys wysdom maketh all men fooles. And confounded be all casters of ymages, for that they cast, is but a vayne thynge, and hath no lyfe. ¹⁵ The vayne craftesmen with theyr worckes, that they in theyr vanite haue made, shall peryshe one with another in the tyme of vysitacyon. ¹⁶ Neuertheles, Iacobs porcyon is not suche: but it is he, that hath made all thynges, and Israel is the rode of hys enherytaunce: The Lorde of Hostes is his name.

⁵ This they knowe not (and that willinglie) howe that the heauens a greate whyle ago were, & the earth that was in the water, appered vp out of the water by the worde of God, ⁶ by the which thinges, the worlde that then was, perished ouer flowen with the water. ⁷ But the heauens verely and earth, which are now are kept by the same worde in store, and reserued vnto fyre, agaynste the daye of iudgemente, and perdycyon of vngodlye men.
