⁴ That we shoulde not hyde them from the chyldren of the generations to come: but to shewe the honoure of the Lorde, hys myghte and wonderfull worckes that he hath done.

²⁶ And when youre children axe you what maner of seruyce is thys ye do?

⁸ And thou shalt shewe thy sonne at the tyme saying: this is done, because of that whiche the Lord did vnto me when I came out of Egypt.

¹⁴ And when thy sonne axeth the in tyme to come saying: what is this? thou shalt say vnto him: with a myghty hand the Lord brought vs out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

⁹ Take hede to thy selfe therfore only & kepe thy soule diligently, that thou forget not the thynges whych thyne eyes haue sene, & that they departe not oute of thyne herte, all the dayes of thy lyfe: but teach them thy sonnes and thy sonnes sonnes.

⁷ & thou shalt whett theim on thy children. & shalt talke of theim when thou arte at home in thyne house, and as thou walkeste by the way, and when thou lyest downe and when thou rysest vp:

¹⁹ and teach them your chyldren: so that thou talke of them when thou sittest in thine house and when thou walkest by the way, & when thou liest downe, & when thou risest vp,

⁶ that thys maye be a sygne amonge you. And when youre chyldren aske theyr fathers in tyme to come, sayinge: what meane ye wyth these stones: ⁷ then say vnto them, how that the water of Iordan deuyded at the presence of the arcke of the appoyntmente of the Lord: euen while it went ouer Iordan, the water of Iordan deuyded. And these stones shalbe a memoryall vnto the chyldren of Israel for euer.

²¹ And he spake vnto the chyldren of Israel sayinge, when your chyldren aske you in tyme to come, sayinge: what meane these stones, ²² shewe your chyldren and saye: Israel came ouer thys Iordan on drye lande. ²³ For the Lorde youre God dryed vp the water of Iordan before you, vntyll ye were ouer, as the Lorde youre GOD dyd vnto the red sea, whiche he dryed vp before vs, tyll we were ouer, ²⁴ that all the people of the worlde maye knowe the hande of the Lorde how myghtye it is, and that ye myght feare the Lorde youre God for euer.

¹⁸ which wyse men haue tolde, & hath not bene hyd from their fathers:

¹⁴ That I maye shewe all thy prayses within the portes of the daughter of Sion, and reioyse in thy sauynge health.

¹ Why arte thou gone so far of, O Lord? wylt thou hyde thy selfe in tyme of trouble? ² While the vngodlye hath the ouer hand, the pore must suffer persecutyon. O that they were taken in the ymagynacion which they go aboute. ³ For the vngodly maketh bost of his owne hertes desyre, the couetous blesseth him selfe and blasphemeth the Lorde. ⁴ The vngodlye is so proude and full of indignacyon, that he careth not mether is God before hys eyes. ⁵ Hys wayes are al waye filthye, thy iudgementes are farre out of his sight, he defyeth all his enemyes.

⁷ That I may shewe the voice of thy praise and tell of all thy wonderous workes,

¹⁷ Thou, O God, haste learned me fro my youth vp vntyll now, therfore wyll I tell of thy wonderous workes. ¹⁸ Forsake me not, O GOD, in myne olde age, when I am gray headed: vntyll I haue shewed thyne arme vnto chylders chyldren, and thy power to all them that are yet for to come.

⁴ One generacion shall prayse thy workes vnto another, and declare thy power. ⁵ As for me I will be talkynge of thy worshyp, thy glory, thy prayse, and wonderous workes. ⁶ So that men shal speake of the myght of thy maruelous actes, and tell of thy greatenes.

⁷ I wyl declare the goodnesse of the Lorde, yea and the prayse of the Lorde for all that he hath geuen vs, for the great good that he hath done for Israel: whyche he hath geuen them of hys owne fauoure, and accordynge to the multytude of hys louynge kyndnesses. ⁸ For he sayde: These no doute wylbe my people and no shrynkynge chyldren, and so he was their sauyoure. ⁹ In their troubles he forsoke them not, but the aungel that went forthe from his presence delyuered them. Of very loue & kindnesse that he had vnto them, redemed he them. He hath borne them, and caryed them vp euer, sence the worlde beganne. ¹⁰ But after they prouoked hym to wrath, and vexed hys holy mynd, he was their enemye, and fought against them him selfe. ¹¹ Yet remembred he the olde tyme of Moses and hys people: How he brought them from the water of the sea, as a sheperde doth wyth his shepe: how he had geuen his holy spyryte amonge them: ¹² howe he had led Moses by the ryght hande with hys glorious arme: how he had deuided the water before them (wherby he gat him selfe an euerlasting name) ¹³ how he led them in the depe as an horse is led in the playne, that they shoulde not stomble. ¹⁴ The spirite of the Lorde led them, as a tame beast goeth in the felde. Thus (O God) hast thou led thy people, to make thy selfe a glorious name wyth all. ¹⁵ Loke doune then from heauen, and beholde the dwellinge place of thy sanctuary and thy glory: how is it, that they gelousy, thy strength the multitude of thy mercyes, & thy louynge kindnesse, will not be entreated of vs. ¹⁶ Yet art thou oure father: For Abraham knoweth vs not, neither is Israel acquainted with vs. But thou Lorde art oure father and redemer and thy name is euerlastinge. ¹⁷ O Lord wherfore hast thou led vs out of thy waye? wherfore hast thou hardened our hertes, that we feare the not? Be at one with vs agayne, for thy seruauntes sake that are of the generacion of thine heretage. ¹⁸ Thy people hath had but litle of thy Sanctuarye in possession, for oure enemies haue taken it in. ¹⁹ And we are become euen as we were from the beginninge: but thou art not their Lorde, for they haue not called vpon thy name.

³ Tell youre chyldren of it, and let them shew it vnto theyr chyldren, & so they to certifye their posteryte there of.
