⁴¹ All they that go by, spoyle hym, he is become a rebuke vnto hys neyghbours.

³⁷ And thou shalt go to waste & be made an ensample, & a iestynge stocke vnto all nacyons whether the Lord shall carye the.

⁹ And I sayde: It is not good that ye do. Oughte ye not to walcke in the feare of God because of the rebuke of the Heythen oure enemyes?

¹⁰ Thou makest vs to turne oure backes vpon oure enemyes, so that they which hate vs spoyle our goodes. ¹¹ Thou lettest vs be eaten vp lyke shepe, & scaterest vs among the Heathen. ¹² Thou sellest thy people for naught, and takest no money for them. ¹³ Thou makeste vs to be rebuked of oure neyghboures, to be laughed to scorne & had in derision, of them that are rounde about v ¹⁴ Thou hast made vs, a very by word among the Heathen, and that the people shake their heades at vs.

¹⁰ O God, how long shall the aduersary do this dishonoure? how longe shall the enemy blaspheme thy name? for euer?

⁴ We are become an open shame vnto oure enemyes, a verye scorne and derysyon vnto them that are rounde aboute vs.

¹³ Then wylde bore out of the wood hath roted it vp, and the beastes of the felde haue deuoured it.

⁶ For I shall send him among those ypocrytish people, amonge the people that haue deserued my disfauour shall I send him: that he maye vtterly robbe them, spoyle them, and tread them doune lyke the myre in the strete.

⁹ And wyll make them to be a reprofe, a comen by worde, a laughinge stocke and shame, in all the places, where I shall scatre them.

¹⁸ And I wyll persecute them wyth the swearde, with honger and death. I wyll delyuer them vp to be vexed of all Kyngedomes, to be cursed, abhorred, laughed to scorne, and put to confusyon of all the people, amonge whome I haue scatred them:

¹⁸ For thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes the God of Israel: lyke as my wrath and indignacion is come vpon the enhabytoures of Ierusalem, so shall my displeasure go forth vpon you also, yf ye go into Egipte: For there ye shalbe reuyled, abhorred, brought to shame and confusyon: and as for this place, ye shall neuer she it more.

⁸ because ye prouoke me vnto wrath wyth the worckes of your owne handes: when ye offre vnto straung Goddes in the lande of Egipte, where as ye be gone to dwel. That ye myght vtterly peryshe, and that ye myght be reuyled and shamefully intreated of all nacyons.

¹² As for the remnaunt of Iuda that purposly wente into Egipte, there to ease them of their mysery I wyll take them, and they shall al be destroyed. In the lande of Egipte shall they peryshe beynge consumed with the swerde, and with honger. For from the least vnto the mooste, they shall peryshe with the swerd and with honger. Moreouer they shal be reuyled, abhorred, shamed, and confounded.

¹⁷ Israel is a scatred flocke, the Lyons haue dispersed them. Fyrste the kynge of the Assyryans deuoured them, last of all thys Nabuchodonosor Kyng of Babylon hath brosed all theyr bones.

¹ Call to remembraunce (O Lorde) what we haue suffred, consydre and se oure confusyon.

¹⁴ Moreouer I wyll make the waste and abhorred, befor all the Heathen that dwell aboute the, & in the syght of all them, that go by the: ¹⁵ so that when I punishe the in my wrath, in myne anger, & with the plage of my whote displeasure: thou shalt be a very abhominacion, shame, a gasynge & wondrynge stocke, amonge the Heathen that lye aboute the. Euen I the Lorde haue spoken it, and it shall come to passe,

¹⁶ O Lorde, and done wyckedly agaynste all thy ryghteousnes: yet let thy wrothfull displeasure be turned awaye (I beseche the) from thy cytye Ierusalem thy holy hill. And why? for oure synnes sake, and for the wickednesse of oure forefathers is Ierusalem and thy people abhorred, of all them that are aboute vs.
