⁸ And theyr bodies shal lye in the stretes of the great city, whiche spyrytually is called Sodome and Egypte, where oure Lorde was crucyfyed.

¹³ But the men of Sodome were wicked, & sinned exceadyngly against the Lord.

²⁴ Than the Lorde rayned vpon Sodome and Gomorra, brymstone and fyre from the Lord out of heauen,

¹³ And the Egyptians helde the chyldren of Israell in bondage wythoute mercye, ¹⁴ and made theyr lyues bytter, vnto theym, wyth cruell laboure in clay and brycke, and all maner worcke in the fyeldes, and in all maner of seruice, whyche they caused theim to worcke cruellye.

⁷ Then the Lorde sayed: I haue surelye sene the trouble of mi people which ar in Egipt, and haue heard their cry whyche they haue of their taskemasters. For I know theyr sorow,

² I am the Lorde thy God, which haue brought the out of the lande of Egipte and out of the house of bondage.

⁴³ Howe he had wroughte hys myracles in Egypte, and hys wonders in the lande of Zoan. ⁴⁴ How he turned their waters into bloude, so that they myghte not dryncke of the ryuers. ⁴⁵ How he sent lyce among them, to eate them vp, and frogges to destroye them. ⁴⁶ How he gaue their frutes vnto the catyrpyller, & their labour vnto the greshopper. ⁴⁷ How he bete doune theyr vyneyardes wt hayle stones, and their molbery trees wyth the frost. ⁴⁸ How he smote theyr cattel with haylestones, & their flockes with hote thonder boltes. ⁴⁹ How he sent vppon them the furiousnesse of his wrath, anger & displeasure: with trouble and falling in of euell aungels. ⁵⁰ When he made a waye to hys fearful indignacion, and spared not their soules from death, yea, & gaue their cattell ouer to the pestilence. ⁵¹ When he smote al the first born in Egipt, the mooste principall and mightyest in the dwellynges of Ham.

² The deade bodye of thy seruauntes haue they geuen vnto the foules of the ayre to be deuoured, and the flesh of thy saintes vnto the beastes of the lande. ³ Their bloude haue they shed lyke water on euery syde of Ierusalem, and ther was no man to bury them.

⁹ And excepte the Lord of hostes had lefte vs a fewe alyue: we shulde haue ben as Sodoma, and lyke vnto Gomorra. ¹⁰ Heare the worde of the Lorde ye tyrauntes of Sodoma, and herken vnto the lawe of oure God, thou people of Gomorra.

⁹ The chaungynge of their countenaunce bewrayeth them, yea they declare theyr owne synnes them selues, as the Sodomites, and hyde them not. Wo be vnto theyr soules, for they shalbe heuely rewarded.

¹⁴ I haue sene also amonge the Prophetes of Ierusalem foule aduouterye, and presumptuous lyes. They take the moste shamefull men by the hande, flatryng them, so that they can not returne from their wickednes. All these wyth their cytesyns are vnto me, as Sodom, and as the inhabitours of Gomorre.

²³ whiche fetched Vriah oute of Egypte, and brought hym vnto kyng Iehoakim that slewe hym with the sweard, and caste hys dead bodye into the comon peoples graue.

⁵³ As for their captyuite, namely the captyuite of Sodoma and her doughters: the captiuyte of Samaria and her doughters. I wyll brynge them agayne, so wyl I also brynge agayne thy captiuite amonge them: ⁵⁴ that thou mayest take thyne owne confusion vpon the, and be ashamed of all that thou hast done, & to comforte them. ⁵⁵ Thus thy sisters (namelye) Sodoma and her doughters: Samaria and her doughters with thy selfe and thy doughters, shalbe brought agayne to youre olde estate.

³ these (when they were younge) beganne to playe the harlottes in Egipte. There were their brestes brosed, and the pappes of their mayden head destroyed.

⁸ Neyther ceassed she from the fornicacyon, that she vsed wyth the Egyptians, for in her youth they laye wt her, they brosed the brestes of her maydenheade, and poored their whordome vpon her.

¹⁹ Neuerthelesse she vsed her whordome euer the longer the more, and remembred the dayes of her youth, wherin she hath played the harlot in the lande of Egipte:

²⁷ Thus wil I make an ende of thy filthinesse and whordome, whiche thou haste broughte oute of the lande of Egipte: so that thou shalt turne thyne eyes no more after them, and cast thy minde no more vpon Egipte.

¹¹ Moreouer, he sayde vnto me: Thou sonne of man, these bones are the whole house of Israell. Beholde, they saye: Oure bones are dryed vp, oure hope is gone, we are clene cut of.

¹¹ Some of you haue I ouerthrowen, as I ouerthrew Sodome and Gomorre, so that ye were as brand plucte oute of the fyre. Yet wyll ye not turne vnto me, sayeth the Lorde.

¹⁵ Truly I say vnto you: it shalbe easyer for the lande of Sodoma & Gomorra in the daye of iudgement then for that citie.

³³ Neuertheles, I must walke to daye and to morowe and the daye folowynge. For it can not be, that a prophet perysh any other wher, saue at Hierusalem ³⁴ O Hierusalem, Hierusalem, whiche killest Prophetes, and stonest them that are sent to the: howe often woulde I haue gathered thy chyldren together, as the hen gathered her neste vnder her wynges, but ye would not.

⁴ & he fell to the earth, and hearde a voice saiyng to him: Saul, Saul why persecutest thou me?

⁶ yf they fall, shoulde be renued agayne vnto repentaunce: for as muche as they haue (as concernynge them selues) crucifyed the sonne of God a freshe makynge a mocke of hym.

¹² Therfore Iesus to sanctyfye the people wyth hys owne bloude, suffered wythout the gate.

⁶ and turned the cyties of Sodom and Gomor into ashes, ouerthrowe them, dampned them, and made on them an ensample vnto all that after shoulde lyue vngodly.

⁷ euen as Sodome and Gomor, and the cytyes about them (which in lyke maner defyled them selues with fornicacyon, and folowed straunge fleshe) are sette forth for an ensample, and suffer the vengeaunce of eternal fyre.

⁹ And they of the people and kynredes, and tonges, and they of the nacyons, shal se theyr bodyes thre dayes and an halfe, and shall not suffer theyr bodies to be put in graues.

¹³ And the same houre was there a greate earth quake, and the tenth parte of the cytye fell, and in the earth quake were slayne names of men seuen thousande, and the remnaunte were feared, and gaue glorye to GOD of heauen.

⁸ And there folowed another angel, sayinge: Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, for she made al nacions drinke of the wine of her fornicacion.

¹⁹ And the greate city was deuided into thre parties, & the cyties of al nacions fel. And great Babilon came in remembraunce before God, to geue vnto her the cup of the wine of the fyercenes of his wrath.

¹ And there came one of the seuen angelles, which had the seuen vialls, and talked with me, saiynge vnto me, come I wil shew the, the iudgement of the great whore that sytteth vpon manye waters,

⁵ And in her forhead was a name wrytten, a mystery, great Babylon the mother of whoredome and abominacions of the earth.

² And he cryed mightely with a strong voyce, saing: Great Babylon is fallen, is fallen: and is become the habitacion of deuilles, and the holde of al foule spyrytes, and a cage of al vncleane and hateful byrdes,

¹⁰ & shal stand a farre of, for feare of her punishmente, saying: Alas, Alas, that great citie Babilon, that myghty cytie. For at one houre is her iudgemente come.

¹⁸ & cried, when they saw the smoke of her burninge, sayinge: what citie is lyke vnto this great citie?

²¹ And a mighty angel toke vp a stone lyke a greate mylstone, & cast it into the sea, saying: wyth such violence shal that greate citie Babilon be caste, and shalbe found no more.

²⁴ & in her was found the bloud of the prophetes, and of the sainctes and of al that were slayne vpon the earth.
