¹³ would ye tary after them, tyl they were of age? or would ye for them so long refrayne from takynge of husbandes? Not so my doughters: for it greueth me much for youre sakes, that the hande of the Lord is gone out against me.

¹⁵ For in dede the hand of the Lord was against them to destroy them out of the host, tyl they were consumed.

¹⁵ But vnto whatsoeuer thynge they went, the hand of the Lorde was vpon them wyth euyl lucke, euen as the Lord promysed them, and as he sware vnto them. And they were sore vexed.

¹¹ Then they sent and fette all the Lordes of the Philistines vnto them, and sayde: sende awaye the arcke of the God of Israel, and let it go home agayne vnto hys owne place, that it slee vs not wyth our people. For there was a plage of death thorowout all the cytye, and the hand of God was excedyng sore there,

²¹ Haue pyte vpon me, haue pite vpon me (O ye my frendes) for the hande of the Lorde hath touched me.

⁴ And because thy hand was so heuy vpon me both daye and nyght, my moysture was lyke the drouth in Sommer. Selah.

² For thyne arrowes stycke fast in me, and thy hande presseth me sore.

⁹ I kepe sylence, and open not my mouthe, for thou hast done it. ¹⁰ Turne thy plages awaye fro me, for I am consumed thorow the feare of thy hande.
