¹⁹ Show me a denarius of the capitation money. And they brought to him a denarius. ²⁰ And Jesus said to them: Whose is this image and inscription? ²¹ They say, Caesar's. He saith to them: Give then Caesar's things to Caesar, and God's things to God. ²² And when they heard it they were surprised: and they left him, and went away.

²⁴ Show me a denarius. Whose is this image and superscription upon it? They said to him, Caesar's. ²⁵ Jesus said to them: Then, give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's. ²⁶ And they could not catch from him a word of accusation before the people: and they were surprised at his answers, and were silent.

¹⁹ But the firm foundation of God standeth; and it hath this seal, The Lord knoweth them who are his: and, Let every one who invoketh the name of our Lord, stand aloof from iniquity.

¹² Him that is victorious, will I make a pillar in the temple of my God; and he shall not again go out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and of the new Jerusalem which descendeth from heaven from my God, and my own new name.
