¹⁰ Now I appeal to you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

¹ [A Song of Ascents. By David.] See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity.

³⁹ and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their good, and of their children after them:

¹⁶ And no one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch would tear away from the garment, and a worse hole is made.

²¹ No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, or else the patch shrinks and the new tears away from the old, and a worse hole is made.

⁴³ So there arose a division in the crowd because of him.

¹⁶ Some therefore of the Pharisees said, "This man is not from God, because he does not keep the Sabbath." Others said, "How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?" There was division among them.

¹⁹ A division arose again among the Jewish people because of these words.

³⁴ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. ³⁵ By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

²³ I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me.

³² And the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

¹ Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

¹⁶ Be of the same mind one toward another. Do not be arrogant, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own conceits.

⁵ Now the God of patience and of encouragement grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus, ⁶ that with one accord you may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

³⁰ Now I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,

¹⁷ Now I appeal to you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.

¹⁶ I appeal to you therefore, be imitators of me.

¹⁸ For first of all, when you come together in the church, I hear that divisions exist among you, and I partly believe it.

²⁵ that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

²⁰ We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

¹ Working together, we entreat also that you not receive the grace of God in vain,

¹ Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ; I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you.

¹¹ Finally, brothers, rejoice. Be perfected, be comforted, be of the same mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.

¹² I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You did me no wrong,

¹ I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, urge you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, ² with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love; ³ being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. ⁴ There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling; ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all. ⁷ But to each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

³¹ Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. ³² And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

²⁷ Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;

¹ If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion, ² make my joy full, by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; ³ doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; ⁴ each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

¹⁶ Nevertheless, to what we have attained, let us walk by the same rule, being of the same mind.

¹ Finally then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to live and to please God, even as you are living, that you excel more and more. ² For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

¹³ and to respect and honor them in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

¹ Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you

²¹ I command you in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.

¹ I command you therefore before God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his Kingdom:

⁹ yet on the basis of love I rather appeal, being such a one as Paul, the aged, but also a prisoner of Christ Jesus. ¹⁰ I appeal to you for my child, whom I have become the father of in my chains, Onesimus,

¹³ Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom. ¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and do not lie against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. ¹⁶ For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. ¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy. ¹⁸ Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

¹¹ Beloved, I urge you as foreigners and temporary residents, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

⁸ Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, humble, ⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but instead blessing; because to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.
