¹³ The two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him. The base fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, "Naboth cursed God and the king." Then they carried him out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones.

¹⁶ "Do not give false testimony against your neighbor.

¹¹ The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moses. His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. ¹² They put him in custody, until the will of the LORD should be declared to them. ¹³ The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁴ "Bring out of the camp him who cursed; and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him. ¹⁵ You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin. ¹⁶ He who blasphemes the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: the foreigner as well as the native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.

³⁵ The LORD said to Moses, "The man shall surely be put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside of the camp." ³⁶ All the congregation brought him outside of the camp, and stoned him to death with stones; as the LORD commanded Moses.

²⁰ "Do not give false testimony against your neighbor.

¹⁰ You shall stone him to death with stones, because he has sought to draw you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

¹⁶ If an unrighteous witness rise up against any man to testify against him of wrongdoing, ¹⁷ then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges who shall be in those days; ¹⁸ and the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, look, if the witness is a false witness, and has testified falsely against his brother; ¹⁹ then you shall do to him as he had thought to do to his brother: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you. ²⁰ Those who remain shall hear, and fear, and shall hereafter commit no more any such evil in the midst of you. ²¹ Your eyes shall not pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

²⁶ 'Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,' says the LORD; 'and I will repay you in this plot of ground,' says the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the word of the LORD."

⁵ It was so, when the days of their feasting had run their course, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts." Job did so continually.

¹¹ But put forth your hand now, and strike all that he has, and he will curse you to your face."

⁹ Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold firmly to your integrity? Curse God, and die."

¹² Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me, such as breathe out violence.

¹¹ Unrighteous witnesses rise up. They ask me about things that I do not know about.

⁵ A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.

¹⁸ A man who gives false testimony against his neighbor is like a club, a sword, or a sharp arrow.

¹ Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and look, the tears of those who were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

²⁰ Do not curse the king, no, not in your thoughts; and do not curse the rich in your bedchamber: for a bird of the sky may carry your voice, and that which has wings may tell the matter.

²¹ They will pass through it, greatly distressed and hungry; and it will happen that when they are hungry, they will worry, and curse by their king and by their God. They will turn their faces upward,

¹⁰ Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, "Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.

⁵ I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and do not fear me," says the LORD of hosts.

³ And look, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man blasphemes."

⁵⁶ For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony did not agree with each other. ⁵⁷ Some stood up, and gave false testimony against him, saying, ⁵⁸ "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.'" ⁵⁹ Even so, their testimony did not agree.

² They began to accuse him, saying, "We found this man subverting our nation, forbidding paying taxes to Caesar, and saying that he himself is the Christ, a king."

¹² At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jewish leaders shouted, saying, "If you release this man, you are not Caesar's friend. Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar."

¹¹ Then they secretly induced men to say, "We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God."

⁵⁷ But they shouted out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed at him with one accord. ⁵⁸ They threw him out of the city, and stoned him. The witnesses placed their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. ⁵⁹ They stoned Stephen as he called out, saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

⁵ For we have found this man to be a plague, an instigator of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.
