⁴ But I said, "I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely the justice due to me is with the LORD, and my reward with my God."

²⁰ and your strength will be spent in vain; for your land won't yield its increase, neither will the trees of the land yield their fruit.

²² I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the assembly I will praise you. ²³ You who fear the LORD, praise him. All you descendants of Jacob, glorify him. Revere him, all you descendants of Israel. ²⁴ For he has not despised or detested the affliction of the afflicted, nor has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him, he heard. ²⁵ Of you comes my praise in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him. ²⁶ The humble shall eat and be satisfied. They shall praise the LORD who seek after him. Let your hearts live forever. ²⁷ Every part of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you. ²⁸ For the kingdom is the LORD's, and he is the ruler over the nations. ²⁹ All the prosperous of the earth shall eat and worship. All those who go down to the dust shall bow before him; and my soul shall live for him. ³⁰ Posterity shall serve him. Future generations shall be told about the Lord. ³¹ They shall come and shall declare his righteousness to a people that shall be born, for he has done it.

⁴ Tell those who have a fearful heart, "Be strong. Do not be afraid. Look, your God will come with vengeance, God's retribution. He will come and save you.

¹⁰ Look, the LORD will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Look, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.

¹⁰ Yet the LORD was pleased to crush him and make him ill. Although his soul is made a reparation offering, he will see his offspring, he will prolong his days, and the desire of the LORD will succeed by his hand. ¹¹ After the suffering of his soul he will see light and be satisfied by his knowledge. The righteous one, my servant, will make many righteous, and he will bear their iniquities. ¹² Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he will divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and he was numbered with transgressors; yet he bore the sins of many, and made intercession for their transgressions.

¹¹ Look, the LORD has proclaimed to the remotest part of earth, "Say to the daughter of Zion, 'Look, your salvation comes. Look, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.'"

² All day long I have stretched out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own thoughts;

²³ They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for calamity; for they are the descendants of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

¹⁹ Yet if you warn the wicked, and he doesn't turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

¹⁷ Jesus answered, "Faithless and perverse generation. How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me."

³⁷ "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her. How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not.

²⁶ Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?"

¹¹ He came to his own, and those who were his own did not receive him.

⁴ I glorified you on the earth by accomplishing the work which you have given me to do. ⁵ Now, Father, glorify me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world existed.

²¹ But as to Israel he says, "All day long I have stretched out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people."

¹⁵ For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God, in those who are saved, and in those who perish;

¹⁵ I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less?

¹¹ I am afraid for you, that I might have wasted my labor for you.

⁹ Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,

² looking to Jesus, the founder and completer of the faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
